He’s always strong, always faithful…but will he be always hers?
Pregnant, alone and temporarily staying at her family’s cabin in northern Minnesota, Clara Olafson is determined to overcome the hurt of her recent past and build a good life for herself and her child. The last thing she expects to find on her morning walk through the state forest nearby is an unconscious and injured former Marine.
Colin ‘Fitz’ Fitzhugh might have initially joined the Corps to prove that he was more than just a wealthy playboy, but he grew to love the brotherhood and purpose he found there—until his last mission in Afghanistan cost the life of one of his men and left him badly scarred in body and mind. Hoping to shed some of his pain and guilt alone in the wilderness, instead he finds a feisty, pregnant angel.
Sparks fly as sassy Clara nurses the gruff and mysterious Fitz back to health, but the happiness and peace they both begin to find in the little cabin is shattered when Clara faces a health emergency. When Fitz reluctantly chooses to return to the wealth and privilege of his family in order to save her and the baby, he plunges them all into a glittering society that Clara doesn’t know if she likes. But Fitz might just prove to her that, whether he’s being a billionaire philanthropist or a sudden stand-in dad, he’s always hers.
Reader advisory: This book contains a mention of attempted murder.
Aurora is originally from the frozen tundra of the upper-Midwest (ok, not frozen all the time!) but now loves living in New England with her real-life hero/husband, two wonderfully silly sons, and one of the most extraordinary cats she has ever had the pleasure to meet. But she still goes back to the Midwest to visit, just never in January. She doesn't remember a time that she didn't love to read, and has been writing stories since she learned how to hold a pencil. She has always liked the romantic scenes best in every book, story, and movie, so one day she decided to try her hand at writing her own romantic fiction, which changed her life in all the best ways.
During a walk in the woods, Clara finds Fitz unconscious from a fall and she takes him back to her cabin. While Fitz is healing from his injuries and his past as a Marine, he’s also helping Clara who is 8 months pregnant and has had some minor accidents and high blood pressure. Once Clara goes into labor the pace of the story picks up and Fitz reveals he’s Colin Fitzhugh of a very wealthy family. I liked there was a little intrigue added to the story and how both characters developed. There was a lot of inner dialogue and sometimes it was awkwardly formal (“Now you see here!” when the bad guy was insulted or “like to put my fists on you” when he wanted to fight). Although the ending felt abrupt and needed an epilogue, I suspect we’ll see more of them in future books for his siblings.

Oh, Mylanta! I love me a billionaire that doesn’t care that he is a billionaire. Throw in a pregnant heroine that doesn’t need saving and let’s just watch the sparks fly. Fitz and Clara are that and more. I hated that this book ended. I could have read another book about these two; that’s how much I loved them.
Clara ended up in a bad situation with the biggest douche canoe on the planet but she soldiered on. She took a bad situation and made some good. Of course, she never imagined that the love of her life would end up on her property, injured and suffering through survivor’s guilt. Of the fact that he was a billionaire and would never leave her side for a minute. To feel Fitz’s love and caring ways towards her and her child are precious to her but to be in his world was a bit overwhelming.
Fitz had some bad stuff happen to him when he was a Marine. I admired his decision to become one and I understood it, too. Dealing with awful parents but a wonderful, caring, and understanding grandfather, Fitz picked himself up and lived the life he wanted…not what was expected of him. Finding Clara was a godsend for him. She is the light to his dark and made him a better man. I loved how he just took control of the health crisis for Clara and the baby. On the other hand, I understood the complete confusion that Clara had. Uncomfortable at first and honestly who wouldn’t be, she finally realized that this wasn’t Fitz but at his core was the injured man that she met at the cabin.
I just loved this book. It was funny, sweet, heartbreaking, inspiring, but more importantly, it is about hope. Clara and Fitz are in pain, emotionally and physically. They have some things to work out and they do that together. These two are gold from the beginning and the angst is low. It’s a character-driven story with just the right amount of romance, humor, snappy dialogue, and Minnesota for this reader. Yes, Minnesota. The setting is definitely a secondary character in the book and it shows how Ms. Russell still has an affection for the Midwest.
I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and for some reason, I’m thinking Mac is next. And yes, I thought of Top Gun, especially Ice Man. Love Val Kilmer in that movie.
This book has everything a romance lover could want! A wounded hero with heart of gold and a strong protective streak meets a beautiful heroine with a compassionate heart who offers him a place to heal and companionship. In fact, this book reminds me of the fairytales I was told as a child. It is a bit Beauty And The Beast and as well as Cinderella. It features a charming romance, a crisis to overcome and even a villain.
Fitz (Colin) and Clara are harbouring painful memories and heartbreak, but his accident in the woods near her cabin brings them together and leads to the healing both of their hearts. Fitz is stunned to discover his rescuer is not only beautiful, but very pregnant. He is loathe to go to a hospital after spending so many months in one recovering from horrific injuries from his last mission before he left the Marine Corps. Slyly manoeuvred into staying with Clara while he heals from his latest injuries, Fitz discovers that independent and feisty Clara needs his help too. The time they spend together is filled with a lightness neither expected, as well as flirty banter and a growing connection between them. Could fate have given them both the gift of love when they needed it most?
I loved the characters in this book, even some of the secondary ones like Fritz’s grandfather and his butler who made this book even more captivating. This book is going on my keeper list! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

OVERALL RATING –4 stars RECOMMENDED FOR: those that like slightly insta love, wounded veteran
First my usual points: - I do not do spoilers unless warned. - Read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. I will not reiterate. - This is a standalone (to my knowledge) - No errors that I caught as far as editing. - The author was new to me.
BOOK: - Contemporary romance - 3rd person POV
Star Ratings - 1 (poor) - 5(READ THIS BOOK) · Writing Quality: 5 stars · Story ingredient: 4 stars · Ease of reading/Pace: 5 stars; · Plot strength: 4 stars · Steam Level: 4 stars - Some open door scenes,
Notes/Opinion (personal): I'm not a fan of insta anything. However, I wanted a short and fulfilling read. This mostly fulfilled the need although I felt there were some aspects of the characters that seemed contradictory. In the end, I didn't feel cheated out of the story; just some details that I decided to conclude how I wanted. It seemed a bit strange that the first part seemed to be a slow burn and then suddenly the characters couldn't keep their hormones in check, which seemed a bit odd since the FMC recently gave birth but there was little mention about the changes to her body or even a mental pondering to same. The second part seemed a bit off for me since it really didn't focus on any of this; just bit much on the physical relationship of the MC.
Carino. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Clara is staying at her family's cabin, she is pregnant and staying their alone, her brother wishes she would not especially with her high blood pressure. She just wants to put the past behind her and concentrated on her baby. She is on a walk when she stumbles on an unconscious man.
Fitz had found purpose in the Marine Corp, his last mission cost him some of his team and almost his life. Instead of returning to his wealthy family he is spending time in the wilderness alone. When he awakens on the ground he sees an angel, Clara insists he come with her, but he refuses to go to a hospital. She is determine to care for the grumpy man.
When Clara's health is at risk Fitz will use all of his wealth to ensure that she gets proper medical care. Will she forgive him for not telling her the truth about himself? Can Clara go back into a society that shunned her when her ex talked bad about her?
These two wound hearts are perfect each other, and are just what the other needs. This was a very enjoyable story with some intrigue, and a hero to save the day.

At least, that’s how it is for Clara. The weirdest being when she finds a hulking man unconscious in the forest and takes him home with her. Fitz has gone to the forest to find himself but, instead, finds something so much more.
This is the first book in a new series set (I think) in Minnesota. It moves along at a fair pace with some steamy scenes. You do have to suspend reality though, which is something I find a tad difficult with contemporary stories. For one thing, she recovers from a caesarian section very quickly and, just as quickly, moves onto having sex multiple times in one night. Maybe some do move on that quickly, but no one I know has. And let’s not forget all the ‘accidents’ she had that no one, not even her marine, questioned. A doctor, her brother, not questioning the exact same BP reading for a week? The exact same?!
Barring these small points though, this was a sweet read with some angst and steamy moments. If you like Contemporary Romance, then give this one a go!
This is book one in The Minne-Sorta Falling in Love Series and it is Clara and Colin's (Fitz) story and what a great start to a new series and also a new author to me. This is a really beautiful story about guilt, family, hurt, pain, loss, hope, healing and love and I couldn't put it down as it was so emotional and addictive and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next between Clara and Colin. The chemistry between them was so strong and hot and I loved how they grew together and started the healing process even though things don't always go as planned and they will have to fight hard for what they both want and deserve and I absolutely loved the outcome of this book. The story pulled you in right from the start and kept your attention right throughout and you felt like you were there with them going through everything and I can't wait to read more books in this series.

This is a well written love story with strong characters in Fitz and Clara. The author does a wonderful job bringing all the feels in this one. Clara is pregnant and hurt with the rejection she's been through. Fitz is swallowed up in guilt , grief and pain and is fighting his demons. Both are trying to move forward with their lives when she stumbles upon him hurt and unconscious while on a mountain walk. The author does a great job pulling you into their story and makes you feel as though you are right there with them. You can feel their pain and the sexual tension as it builds up. Her scenes are painted perfectly and the story moves fluidly. I loved reading their story and highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I truly enjoyed this story about an injured, retired Marine and very pregnant paralegal in the woods of northern Minnesota. Both characters were so kind and caring to each other, and they soon bonded in friendship. With taking time to learn about each other, and disregarding their careful curating some of each of their histories, I can believe this couple has the skillset to hold their relationship to a true HEA.
The cast of secondary characters was diverse and well drawn, and nearly as sympathetic as the main couple. We got a great introduction to both sets of siblings and to Fitz's grandfather and his staff.
I can just feel that there is another story in the wings and I, for one, can't wait!

A true delight: Oh my heart ❤! From the very beginning it tore at, melted and then touched my heart! I felt an immediate bond with the characters and became invested in their journeys. I liked how protective, caring and gentle Fitz was towards Clara and I think I fell a little in love with him myself! They both had some issues to deal with and I liked seeing their personal growth and the healing and happiness they were able to find in each other. There was a light thread of mystery which I thought added additional depth to this emotional yet romantic read. I eagerly look forward to reading future books by this talented author. She's alone and pregnant, staying in her family's cabin in the woods. He's still recovering from war injuries when she finds him unconscious near the cabin. He's staying with her while he heals from his most recent injuries. Clara and Colin (Fitz) come from different worlds. I loved all the crazy names she gave him... Major Nosy-pants, Ensign Enigma, Sergeant Sunshine, Lieutenant Lover. I fell in love with both characters - real, flawed, and broken, they were comfortable with each other almost immediately. Their path to love is the slowest of slow burns. This is my first read from the author, and I'm excitedly looking forward to future books in this series. Clara and Fitz are two wounded souls that are looking for a direction to their futures. She is pregnant and ridiculed by her ex boyfriend. He lost friends and almost himself on the last mission he was on in the marines. Clara comes across unconscious Fitz one day during a hike, stopping to help him even though she is eight months pregnant. Slowly they open up to each other and give support and strength, along with a possible future together. The characters have great backstories, intense feelings and determination. The storyline has plenty of great dialogue, drama, danger, surprises, family on both sides and much more. Loved their chemistry and heartfelt bonding to each other. Great ending.

Semper Fitz pulled me in as soon as I saw the cover and read the blurb. Both Fitz and Clare are licking their wounds from life and stumble across each other. It is heartwarming how easily they fit into each other's lives. They are what each other needs, but the question remains if that is enough. I enjoyed reading the interaction between these characters. They way they can read each other speaks to the relationship they have, even if they don't admit it. A story I would be happy to read again. I am hoping to see another story soon.

hmm... i think the book premise is pretty okay but i think it could have been less narrated. a few things are being easily bring across and that's it, like for example the first time the heroine is meeting the hero's grandfather etc, would be great if it was showed instead of being told.
also, in the last chapter, it was revealed that the heroine's ex was the one that was messing around her cabin and her medicine things like that, but did he do it himself or he hired someone to do it? i'm kind of lost, like he is so free to appear at her house so often to mess with her?? would be great to have some explanation.

I found this to be a great read. I had a hard time putting it down once I started it. The characters were amazing and displayed great growth over the course of the story. I loved the plot and that it was written in third person was a nice change of pace from the first person books I have come used to reading. I loved this work and am looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Five out of five stars.

Clara and Colin/Fitz meet in the woods close to her families cabin where she is staying after her boyfriend broke her heart when he rejected her and the baby she is carrying. Fitz is a wounded Marine suffering from the loss of some of his team members and wants time to sort things out but when she finds him unconscious she takes him back to the cabin and cares for him. When her blood pressure gets too high it is Fitz who takes care of her by getting her the best care that his wealthy family can afford. They both needed something or someone and found it when they found each other.
Semper Fitz by Aurora Russel: An Exquisitely Written Love Story!
Clara and Fitz make an awesome journey together in this well-written, evocative novel that had me turning the pages frantically and staying up late to see how it turned out for them. And I was not disappointed!
A beautiful love story, these well-developed characters had to really work hard to find their way. The author really knows how to engage the reader and keep the story moving along at the perfect pace! Well done and definitely a five-star read!
The book is a good, and enjoyable military romance read. The story has a good story line, and well written read. The characters are good, amazing, they have good chemistry, and they displayed good growth over the course of the story. The story has a little bit of mystery which added more depth to this emotional but still romantic read.

Second book I have read by this author. The first book in a new series. The story flows well and the characters are ok. The chapters are very long and I would liked more on the mystery part, like how they did it or were there accomplices. The ending with the happily ever after was wonderful. Overall a good and entertaining read filled with lots of emotional moments.

This was a good story. The only problem I had with it was that it was told in the third person point of view. Sorry but this is a deal breaker for me. However, I really loved Colin and for me is the hero who either makes or breaks the story. I really enjoyed this one.

Though this started of quickly into the action, it took me a little while to connect to Fitz and Clara. I think this was because of the secrets they held, not giving much backstory and also as its third person POV. Overall I liked the book and would like Lana and Mac to have their stories soon.
