It’s not heavy on science; instead, it tells you exactly what you need to do to get started, takes note of modifications and exceptions that might need to be made for some people, and gives you a lot of recipes and resources to help you succeed. If you want to learn more of the science, there are good references for that, too.
This has some good information but consists primarily of recipes. It should have been labeled a cookbook. I thought it would be more detailed for the process during the elimination phase.
Personally I'm looking for a diet to help with both IBD and PCOS. Carnivore was recommended by a doctor and I've been looking at recipes online for awhile but really needed to understand it. I felt this was a good starting point for the price I paid with digital rewards and the Kindle version. Only the first chapter goes over the basics of the diet and the rest is a 4 week meal plan followed by recipes. It wasn't overwhelming and kept it simple enough that I'm interested in both trying the diet and continuing to learn more about it.
I really love this book and diet plan of eating most meat. As I started reading this book. I've incorporated eating more meat and less carbs for the past 3 week... and I've noticed in gut and mental health issues. I highly recommend this book for for anyone wanting better health and a stronger body.
I first got this book just as a motivator to stick to the carnivore diet, not even thinking that I might find some fantastic recipes that I cant wait to try all of them. After reading this book and starting to use the recipes, I don’t think I want to eat any other way. I Highly recommend this book
Chris Irvin is highly intelligent and can get a lot of info to you for your diet. I'm in this for the health benefits. It can't hurt if it's getting my extra we off!! I'm following you Chris!
Was hoping for a bit more advice and knowledge such as can I drink coffee and seltzer water? How to maintain this plan over years? It’s 30-45 minutes of reading a the rest is recipes.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I am always looking for ways to improve my health and I’m always open to try something new. This diet is all over YouTube and I’m a follower of Jordan Peterson and his health has really improved by doing Carnivore, so I wanted to try it as well. I will say that for most people this would be pretty hard to sustain because you’re pretty much giving up veggies and all the things that make a meal great to me. I ate primarily steak and chicken. I would even add bacon for some of the leaner meats I’d have for added fat which helped , but I would still feel unsatisfied & would be craving a salad or sweet potatoes, even in just a small amount. So for me, this is a no, but will this die work if you can truly follow it? Absolutely! I would definitely suggest at least giving it a try😉
