I swore to myself that I’d never fall for an alien warrior. Now my life depends on trusting a Drexian I’d hoped to never see again.

I was coming on board the Drexian space station to attend my cousin’s wedding. That was it. Despite every other woman on Earth falling all over themselves for one of the tough aliens, I wasn’t interested. Not even a little bit. I had my own life on Earth to sort out, and a hot Drexian did not figure into my plans.

But when a guy who's been pursuing me for ages shows up for Zoey's wedding, I need a way to prove to him that I'm not available. Unfortunately, roping Dryx into being my fake boyfriend isn't as cut and dry as I'd hoped. But once I'm thousands of miles away, the whole thing will be nothing but a bad memory. (Okay, a really hot memory, but that’s not the point.)

When my return to Earth is postponed, I’m not only stuck on the space station, but I’m also stuck pretending the Drexian warrior least likely to settle down is my true love. Can I convince everyone on board that I'm in love with him while telling myself that his touch doesn't light my entire body on fire?

This standalone sci-fi romance novel features steamy scenes on an Inferno Force battleship, a smoking-hot Inferno Force warrior, and a guaranteed HEA. If you like feisty heroines, aliens with extra erogenous zones, and lots of adventure, you’ll love BLAZE, the fourth book in Tana Stone’s sci-fi romance Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors series.

I love sexy aliens and independent heroines. I grew up on Star Trek: Next Generation and Star Wars (and I adore them equally). My favorite superhero is Thor (with Aquaman a close second because, well, Jason Momoa), my favorite dessert is key lime pie (okay, fine, all pie), and I still lament the loss of Firefly.

I live in North Carolina in the US and have one husband, two teenagers, and two neurotic cats. I sometimes wish I could teleport to a holographic space station like the one in my tribute brides series (or maybe vacation at the oasis with the sand planet barbarians). :-) When I'm not writing, I love to paddleboard, dive, travel, and read obsessively!

🛡️ Audiobook Review: Blaze

Genre: Science Fiction Romance | Narrators: Aubrey Vincent, Conner Goff, Jodie Bentley
Series: Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors

🦸🏼‍♀️ Heroine Spotlight: Layne

Earth-born and fiercely independent, Layne arrives at the intergalactic space station to celebrate her cousin Zoey’s bonding to a Drexian warrior. While Earth women are practically lining up to join the tribute bride program, Layne’s not buying the hype—especially with Damien in the mix. Zoey’s late fiancé’s best friend, Damien has a long history of ignoring boundaries and making Layne uncomfortable. She hoped space would be her escape, not a reunion with the guy who never got the hint.

---

🧑🏻‍🚒 Hero Spotlight: Dryx

Inferno Force warrior. Groomsman. Galactic Casanova. Dryx is the last Drexian standing who hasn’t succumbed to the mate craze sweeping his squad. While his comrades are pairing off with human brides, Dryx is busy enjoying the buffet of interstellar beauties. Commitment? Hard pass. But when he meets Layne, something shifts—and it’s not just his pulse.

---

🔥 Plot Pulse

Dryx’s attraction to Layne is instant—and inconvenient. Determined not to fall into the mate trap, he keeps his distance. Layne, meanwhile, thinks he’s a cocky jerk. But when Damien shows up and Layne needs a quick escape plan, she blurts out that Dryx is her Drexian boyfriend. Dryx plays along, and what starts as a fake romance begins to spark something real. Their banter, slow-burn chemistry, and reluctant alliance make for a deliciously tropey ride.

---

💘 Things That Hit Home

• The Drexians’ confusion over human idioms? Comedy gold. “Walking down the path” instead of “aisle” and their horror at the idea of a “house of dogs” had me grinning.
• Tana Stone nails the sci-fi romance formula: sizzling chemistry, high-stakes action, and just enough emotional depth to keep you hooked.
• Fake dating is a tried-and-true trope, but when done well—like here—it’s irresistible. Watching Layne and Dryx stumble into real feelings is half the fun.

---

😬 Room to Grow

• The space station’s tech is dazzling: inclinator elevators, holographic bridal suites that mimic tropical beaches or snowy lodges. But when the holograms let you actually ski or swim? That’s where my suspension of disbelief hit a speed bump. A little too real to feel real.

---

🎧 Narration Vibes

Told through multiple POVs, the narration trio—Aubrey Vincent, Conner Goff, and Jodie Bentley—delivers a solid performance. Vincent’s voice is crisp, emotive, and engaging. Bentley adds flair to supporting roles, especially Serge the wedding planner. Goff, while competent, sounds older than the alien heartthrob he’s voicing. For towering Drexian warriors, I prefer a deeper, more commanding tone.

---

📝 Final Thoughts

This installment blends humor, heat, and heart in a way that’s signature Tana Stone. Layne and Dryx’s dynamic is electric, and the space station setting adds a fun, futuristic twist. If you love fake romance with a sci-fi edge and a heroine who doesn’t fall for swagger alone, this one’s worth the listen.

So this one was awesome to me because I got more answers and insight to the mysteries surrounding the Taor. Pretty sure this species is gonna have its own series, if they don't already and I'm just not aware yet. They are way too mystical and beautiful not to have their own series based on them.
So I was SOOOOOO HAPPY about what I learned here with them.. And a little heartbroken. The action wasn't as plentiful here, but what was present was definitely intense.

Dryx and Layne were a nice back drop for me. Even though they are the MCs in this, I still felt like they were filler to move the other plots along and I was fine with that, to be honest.. Now we all know that Damien was up to no good here, but the twist reveal of his actual history with Layne and Zoey(and what ultimately caused Zoey to join the Island ship) shocked the absolute hell out of me O.O

I'm glad how this one ended though. And the Epilogue of course, had me rushing to the next book even when I promised myself a break from this series LOL

Based on books 1-4 I would recommend this series.

Condemning Cousin meets Philandering Drexian

Layne is attending her cousins wedding on the new Drexian space station. To deter the interest of an unwanted suitor, she begs for Dryx’s aid to prove she isn’t available: her plan, pretend to be dating.

I was a bit unsure going into this book about Dryx because I am a person who is strong on fidelity, which Dryx hasn't previously cared much for, when seducing his past conquests.

Layne’s dislike of Dryx and his surprising discomfort at her dislike, was super fun for me to read. I enjoyed Dryx’s confusion, yet willingness to go along with Layne’s ludicrous idea on the fly and the beginning of their “fake agreement”. I did enjoy this trope because I have always wondered if I could get away with the same thing! There was a good balance between the drama and action in this book, remaining interesting at the same time as avoiding irritation. I enjoyed their “fake mate” banter in and out of the … almost bedroom? I quite enjoyed their intimate scenes as well.

Honestly. I feel like such a broken record at this point. I rated this book 4.8 stars. It essentially had everything I like in a book. The only thing for me that could have made it 5 stars is more creativity from Dryx in a sexual aspect as he was quite promiscuous prior to meeting Layne. I was expecting him to have a few different moves or kinks with his and Layne’s sexual encounters. This of course, did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. Congratulations again Tana for another fabulous read. After the sneak peak we got of Talvern, all I can say is Bring. It. On.

Talk about a super fantastic story! Dryx is a Drexian who swears he will never find a mate. Then along came Layne. Layne is Zoey’s cousin who arrived from earth to attend Zoey’s and the captains wedding. But she has been followed by a man, Damien. After the wedding Layne was talking to Dryx and Damien followed her, so Dryx and Layne pretend to be dating. Things become more strained and then Dryx proposes to Layne and she excepts in a fake relationship. But in the end after many things happen and a fake relationship becomes real and they have a happily ever after. The story ends with Talven hearing about his future bride who is not meant to be his bride.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.

Now it's time for the Inferno Warriors who aren't looking for a bride to spar off against earth women.
Warrior alpha aliens whose lives are spent keeping the peace but for some it is in the front lines fighting an enemy who destroys worlds. Earth doesn’t know aliens exist except for the government. A deal was made, and women are given in exchange for protection.
This fun tale sees women and warriors come together to build a new space station that is supposed to be a fantasy place. There is much laughter and action to keep you occupied whilst enjoying this read.
Journey along as they learn to navigate a union together with lots of action in fighting the bad guys. I look forward to reading the rest of this sci fi romance series.

I throughly enjoyed this interracial sci-fi romance. Even though the premise is overused; pretend relationship becomes real. I can’t find fault with this novel. It was entertaining with some ex drama and nefarious intent. It was also well-written with no major editing issues. 4.5 Stars.

Didn’t super love it. Didn’t super hate it either.

I have really enjoyed both this series, and its predecessor, Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors. I thought this book was ok. Our heroine is Layne. She traveled to the space station for her cousin’s wedding. Her cousin, Zoey’s story is told in book #1, Ignite. Zoey was so unlikeable that I gave that book a 1 star rating. I mean, she was really horrible. In the beginning of this book, I thought Layne was going to be more of the same. Turns out, she wasn’t as bad.

I will say that I didn’t really get sucked into Layne and Dryx’s romance. I thought the premise was kinda cute, if not a bit formulaic. . . .almost like a sci-fi Hallmark movie. . . Girl has a stalker, she enlists an unsuspecting man’s help in pretending to be her boyfriend to throw her stalker off. Uh huh. Considering that Dryx has a huge reputation for being a ladies man, and openly eschewing any idea of taking a mate, I simply cannot believe he did a 180° and was all domesticated by the end of the book. I just didn’t feel a lot of chemistry between the two main characters.

I’m not sure how many more book are planned for this series, but I do intend on finishing it. I have a feeling that things will be set up to begin a new series with the Taori warriors. They are a new species we were introduced to in the previous book.

Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors is a spin-off from the Tribute Bride series, and picks up where that series left off, Drexians are large muscled humanoid aliens with bronze skin who’ve spent their lives battling the enemy aliens called the Kronock. There had been a secret treaty with Earth for the past 30 years where the Drexians have been granted permission to abduct human females in exchange for protection against the Kronock. However, things have changed in this spinoff, and now Earth is very much aware of aliens and offer volunteer brides instead of abductions. This series begins with the Drexians building a secondary space station similar to “The Loveboat” called “Fantasy Island” where they are mated (married) to their Drexian warriors. The war with the Kronock is still ongoing.

Written in first person perspective, Blaze is book 4 in this series and follows Drexian Dryx and his human mate Layne. Layne is Zoey’s cousin and traveled to the Island specifically for Zoey’s wedding. Dryx is the Drexian who was set up on a quick video date with Zoey before she admitted her feelings for Kalex. Dryx has the reputation as a player who has no interest in setting down with a mate. The relationship between Dryx and Layne started as a lie when she asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend because her stalker Damien was at Zoey’s wedding. Damien was malicious and possessive of Layne, even though she made it very clear that she wasn’t interested. Damien wormed his way onto the Island and a mission that Dryx took to the planet Taor to learn more about their new Taori allies. Of course, the two wind up falling for each other and turn the lie into reality.

For the most part, I was extremely bored with the relationship between Layne and Dryx. It reminded me too much of high school drama and antics when the two were supposed to be adults. The most interesting thing was the trip to Taor where they finally explained the confusing similarities between the Taori and the Synthians and the Quaiban curse. That piece of information drove me crazy when reading the Sky Clan series as it was never really explained.

Like all the other books, this couple have their ups and downs, back and forths. She fights the claiming, then he fights the claiming. She fights her feelings and he is a typical male idiot that makes poor decisions. One forgives the other way too easily, then things work out in their favor and they live happily ever after.

I might need therapy, but that’s what books are for, right? Lol.

I recommend this series so far. Tara Stone is a creative author and I prefer the first person perspective. The series is much better if you read the Tribute Bride series first so you know the history and what’s going on. I look forward to the next book in the series.

🔥 “How do you feel now, my beautiful, fake mate?”
~~~
I loved Layne! She’s been through quite a lot and she’s such a strong woman to face everything life throws her way. Even more, I loved how kind, feisty and fiercely protective she is and that she was not afraid to speak her mind. She’s so awesome!
And Dryx is one naughty Drexian! That male always finds himself in complicated situations but, despite his playboy nature, I loved how respectful he was of females. Even more, I loved his confidence, attitude and protectiveness. And that wickedly naughty mouth of his! Oh, I absolutely adored everything about this cocky Inferno Force warrior!
Everything that happened between Layne and Dryx was an absolute delight to read! It all started with a rash decision and things quickly started spiralling out of control. But from the very first moment, the chemistry between Layne and Dryx was absolutely undeniable. I really loved their banters and the teasing. They were a truly fantastic match and the passion they shared was blazing hot!
In addition, the storyline kept me glued to the pages till the very end. I loved how much we got to learn about the Taori. And I absolutely didn’t expect the shocking discovery of the origin of the Sythians. I can’t wait to read more about these mysterious warriors!
Even more, there were moments that Serge made me laugh so, so hard! Oh, that little Gatazoid is truly something.
Overall, the story is another marvellous addition to the series. It’s filled with fast-paced action, twists, danger, humor, drama, blazing hot romance and magnificent characters.
I loved every single page of it and, with that epilogue, cannot wait to see what happens next!
Real fake love plus suspense
I loved, loved Dryx and Layne’s alien-human, fake relationship romantic suspense tale. It was the perfect balance of steamy romance and nail biting suspense. Dryx is a Drexian Inferno Force warrior who has a reputation as a ladies man. He has no interest in ever having a mate. He is temporarily stationed on the new space station prepared as sort of a human-Drexian dating/mate-choosing location. Layne is a human and has traveled to the new space station to attend her cousin’s wedding to the Drexian captain. She is not interested in a relationship with an alien. Unfortunately, Damien, a human who has aggressively pursued Layne despite her lack of interest, also comes for the wedding. To deter Damien’s interest, Layne asks Dryx to pretend to date her. Of course, everything snowballs and real feelings get involved. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline as told through sweet moments, steamy scenes, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, loyal friends, fated mates, coincidences, plot twists, painful pasts, and laughs. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series and reading the Taori spin off series.
This story is like the previous ones I have read by this author - Fantastically fabulous and fun to read, - and well – let´s not leave out all the sexiness of the story, the smashingly beautiful and naughty characters and the great storyline. How would anything other than the fabulous five stars be possible? Nope, nothing less but if there were ten stars this story would definitely get all ten also. So overall I really loved this story and as we are offered a very short sneak peak into the next one all I can say is; will it be out tomorrow? Sign me up for the next story also please. There is one thing though that I have been thinking about and that is how I now envy everyone who has not read all the stories prior to this one because they have a bunch of fabulously fantastic stories to read while the rest of us who have already read them have to wait until the next story is out and can not binge read all the previous stories.
Layne swore to herself that she would never fall for an alien warrior but now her life depends on trusting Drexian Dryx. She had to go to the space station to attend her cousin's wedding but when someone who is relentlessly pursuing her turns up, she enlists playboy Dryx to be her fake boyfriend - after all, when she goes home he will be nothing but a hot memory. When her return is delayed she has to pretend to be truly in love for even longer with him and can she continue to deny to herself that his touch lights her entire body up?
I really enjoyed this story with the evil man pursuing her and plotting against Dryx now he is in the way. The chemistry between Layne and Dryx was off the charts and it is almost as if they were the last to realise just how much they actually loved each other. Wedding planner Serge was as always a delight and he really needs to find a better source for phrases! Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
This was a sci-fi alien warrior romance.
Layne is on the Island for her cousin Zoey's wedding to Captain Kalex. She asks Dryx to be her fake boyfriend after seeing Damian at the wedding. Damian was best friends with Zoey's former fiance who died in battle. Damian has been pursuing Layne even though she has made it clear she does not want anything to do with him.
Dryx is an Inferno Force warrior and has a reputation as a ladies man. He has no interest in being mated. He has no problem pretending to be Layne's fake boyfriend and even proposes to her in a bridal shop after seeing how badly Damian reacts. He and Vrek propose a mission to the Taor home planet to learn more about their new allies and Damian gets permission to go along. After learning some disturbing truths about their new allies, they head home when Damian shows his true colors. Once back on the ship Layne and Dryx clear up their misunderstanding and get their HEA.
Gotta love the whole fake boyfriend genre, especially when it’s with the playboy of space, yup, we finally get to see Dryx fall, and fall hard he does, and for his fake girlfriend no less. Read about the once fast Drexian falling fast and hard for the beautiful Layne, Zoey’s cousin. I freaking loved it, they were one of my favorite couples in this series. Layne is in for the wedding, when a guy from her past, that makes her highly uncomfortable, is also in for the wedding…she asks Dryx to be her fake boyfriend…so much fun.
Great storyline. Safe read with one of my favorite “fake” couples. All of our favorites, and we get to see the Taori’s again….woo hoo, and there is a lot of interesting things we find about them, and some what the moments. An epilogue that had me needing more, dang it, I need the next book nowish, and a hea.
Different Type of Story
I chose to read Blaze because I needed a sci fi story for a reading challenge. Layne and Dryx seemed to be characters who met in a previous book in the series. Dryx is basically an alien who enjoys females of any species and is clear with them about his one time get togethers. Layne is in space for her cousin’s wedding. She gets Dryx to be her pretend boyfriend to keep a human man from her life away from her. Dryx agrees and things take off from there. It’s a simple story, a wuick read, and fulfilled my book challenge need. If I find myself with the need of a sci fi book again, I might make my way to the first three in this series to see the other couples’ relationships.
Blaze
This is the story of Dryx and Layne. Dryx we met in other stories. Layne is on the Island for her cousin Zoey’s wedding to the captain of the ship, Kalex. Layne upon meeting Dryx thinks he’s arrogant and an as_. When Damian ,an earth male, known to both Zoey and Layne, comes to the island for the wedding; Layne does not want him there because he is possessive and unreasonable about her. Dryx agrees to be a fake boyfriend and then later a fake fiancé. And, the story continues. There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers. Note: there are a lot of mistakes in the ebook. This is actually totally unlike this author. As always I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. Flame.
Excellent Episode Maintains Satisfaction Level
I wasn't sure Ms. Stone could maintain this high level of imaginative scenarios that keep me enthralled with this series. So far, she's managed to keep me captivated and eager to charge on to the next story. She does a good job of coalescing complete strangers from different worlds, races, and attitudes into romantic couples. I love the imaginative scenarios that are going on simultaneously as the couple gets to know each other. The universe continues, with its complexities, as the couple gets closer romantically. The erotic scenarios are well-written, imaginative, and believable. I definitely enjoy the spicy descriptions and dialogue. Keep it up, Ms. Stone!
We get to experienced another wedding, and this time one of the the groomsmen and one of the bridesmaid play a starring role in this story, Dryx and Layne. Who would have thought that an Inferno Force would enter into a fake relationship. But it wasn't really fake is it and everyone can see that. Of course they ended up with each other but how? it took a lot of convincing themselves and a little bit of danger from an enemy closer to home. Dryx and Layne are characters you will surely love. We also get to meet the other characters from the previous stories. Let's not forget Serge and Reina.
Oh and we also get a tidbit of information that is necessary to move the series along.
Drexian Warrior Dryx burns the pages up with his play boyish ways yet so courteous toward the ladies that he does a favor by pretending to be Layne's boyfriend. The women in this romantic adventurous alien story is Layne who only wants to escape the clutches of an overzealous guy while attending Zoey's wedding. Then they get roped into continually the charade as a Tribute bride under the guidance of Serge the wedding planner. This confusion makes an enjoyable story with touches of humor, enticing chemistry, steamy romance and drama that kept me flipping to the end of this enjoyable story that I volunteer to read and review.
Surprisingly, very funny!
Layne visits the space station for her cousin Zoey’s wedding (Zoey was the heroine of book 1) and Dryx is there because he fought alongside Zoey’s future husband/mate.
They fall into a fake relationship when a guy who’s obsessed with Layne comes too and one thing leads to another…
Again, criminally underdeveloped relationship but still a fun read.
I did hate that Zoey didn’t take into account her friend’s feelings - clearly the guy was a creep for a long time and Layne had turned him down for years, but Zoey thought it was okay to have him come to her wedding? And extend his stay? Weirdo.
I loved it. another fantastic book in this series. very well written with a great plot, well described characters and places, and a story line that sucks u in and really holds your interest. the story comes alive and u feel like u are living it right along with the characters. i love how other characters are also always in the new stories as support features too. book has drama, flare, excitement, emotion and real life problems that give it a very real feeling like aliens and humans are really on a space station out there in orbit right now living.
highly recommended series.
I received an arc copy of this book and this is my honest voluntary review.
Alien Curses and Fake Fiancé's
Layne comes to the Island for her cousin Zoey's marriage to Kalex. Her stalker followed her to the Island to attend her cousin's wedding. When he finds her in a hallway she grabs the nearest Drexian, Dryx, kisses him and tells her stalker that he's her boyfriend. Dryx is fine with having a beautiful woman use him as a fake boyfriend. But the ruse gets out of hand.
In the meantime, Dryx is sent with Vekron on an away mission that the stalker managed to schmooze his way into. They learn the history of the new enemy that the galaxy faces and more about the Taori.
This was an exciting read, one of my favorites.
What a great story. From start to finish this book kept me entertained, wondering what was going to happen next. As always, there’s a little bit of humour, a lot of sexy warriors and sassy ladies. Dryx and Layne find themselves as a couple after she blurts out in front of another chap that they are ‘mates’, Damian the other guy, is not happy! I knew there was something about him and the something was revealed towards the end of the story. Loved this book.
I received an ARC and these are my views on the story.
Love always find a way...
I totally enjoyed Blaze! The characters are Interesting, and I quickly found myself invested in the story. Dryx and Layne had an unconventional beginning to their relationship. It quickly got out of hand because of a former acquaintance of Layne's that became obsessed with her when he couldn't have her cousin Zoey. A really slimey creeper. There's angst, hot, hot times for Layne and Dryx. A new world, and a deadly confrontation. Oh! And a happy ending!
Good book!
Known for his prowess among the female population of the galaxy and his vow to forever live the single bachelor's life, Dryx is surprised when he meets the one woman who doesn't fall for his charming self. When the same woman needs his help evading an obsessive guest at her cousin's wedding on the station, Dryx agrees to play the role of besotted boyfriend. As the stalker's temper heats up, so does the chemistry between the unlikely couple.
this is an amazing addition to the Drexian Brides series, Layne came to her cousins wedding, Dryx was there to attend his friends wedding. But when her Cousin's old flame from earth shows up who had been stalking Layne she did what any logical girl does, grabs the first hot alien and convinces him to pretend to be her boyfriend.
This is an amazing read, filled with fun characters, loads of laughs, great plot, plenty of action, and steamy bits too.
Another great addition to the Inferno Force of the Drexian Warriors. I love this series and that this book was just as fast moving as all the other books in this series. The fake relationship between bad boy alien Dryx as he falls hard for Layne. Action, adventure, fun, and steam. Take me to another world and give me an alien that will provide love and passion.
