As often happens, an eternally horny black cat finds its way into the loving arms of a handful of twentysomething women whose libidos are all over the place. Yes. It happens all of the time.

CAT IN A HOT GIRLS' DORM #1 is a sometimes funny but largely awkward jaunt into the daily escapades of a pervy cat and his nascent ambition to create a harem of human lady friends. It's not exactly clear how or why he deems this necessary, but that's probably not the point. It's also not entirely clear how or why his inclination toward the female form develops so astonishingly fast, but that's probably not the point either. The story, alas, focuses largely on the bestial urges of four women who occupy the same dorm who also take a liking to little Tama-san.

One might initially anticipate this manga to be on the voyeuristic side (e.g., kitten observes the relationships of adult women with original commentary). Unfortunately, the book takes a rather awkward and slightly darker turn that implicitly and explicitly positions Tama-san as a pseudo lover for the four female secondary characters. Sex with a cat? Well, one wouldn't presuppose it completely beyond the realm of possibility.

Yua, full-figured, is stern and intuitive. Ruka is a glasses-girl with an itch for her housemate. Himari, busty and innocent, is as open and flexible to the shifting winds of interpersonal relationships as are most women native to these kinds of manga. The dorm's house mother (nameless) seems content to sneak the delivery guy in the side door for a bit of action every other day. But all told, Tama-san, a cat with a goofy grin, is content to nuzzle his way between the breasts and thighs of the ladies of the house.

CAT IN A HOT GIRLS' DORM #1 makes a weak attempt at a thoroughgoing storyline (i.e., alley cat is adopted by hot ladies), but the basic narrative of a lazy cat and horny women, panels the pages and doesn't leave room for much else. For example, the dorm is a five story building but readers encounter only four of its occupants. Further, the dialogue is so atrocious that some of the characters are literally indistinguishable from one another (e.g., Differentiating between "Himari" and "Ruka" is almost impossible.). All this to say nothing of the brazen sexual assault that bleeds its way into the book.

Visually, the printed book suffers from heavily oversaturated screentones and poor shading, either a symptom of uneducated inking on the part of the creative team or inefficacious quality control on the part of the publisher. Honestly, on the face of it, CAT IN A HOT GIRLS' DORM #1 looks like it should be a full-color comic, but was published in grayscale instead. The result is a manga that appears as if it was published on newsprint. The art itself is good, insofar as ecchi comics are concerned, what with tight jeans, upskirt shots, and loose tank tops. But the awful quality of the book's coloring is impossible to ignore.

Alas, the peculiar allure of adult-ish innocence gone awry and domestic beastiality converge in a comic book whose pacing and storytelling jump around without much context. The book probably delivers on its basic precedent, but in punching through nearly 160 pages, readers don't learn much of anything about these hot girls, the cat, or of the dorm of which they call home. There is one hysterical scene, in which two of the women debate scuttling a sex toy that Tama-san finds, fearful of asking around to see who it belongs to. But that's about it.

Was... odd.. to say the least. Put in becomes the dorm cat in an all girls dorm. Girls are rather shifty and demanding. So what does he do? Declare that they all will become his harem. It's weird.

I thought this was really funny. The perverted cats point of view is different and I liked it. On a lewdness level this is very tame compared to some other manga out there.

I’m not sure how to feel about this one. I honestly thought this was gonna be a cat that comes into a all girls dorm and we would see what all happens in there. I was right but uhh one issue is that the cat actually does things with the girls! 💀 Like the cat is a actual perv and intentionally does things with the girls. It’s just weird and creepy how they let the cat do things to them. Also the story wasn’t really all that. Now the art isn’t too bad and the spicy scenes are pretty spicy but the storyline just wasn’t good enough to continue this except for the ending but even then was iffy about it.
