I enrolled at Pacific Prep four years ago. I’ve worked hard to not only keep my scholarship, but to earn full ride to college. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve played hard, too. Still, I don’t know if I started living until Hadley showed up. And now she’s missing. Her guys are being tight-lipped and trying to keep me out from what’s going on, but I’m not backing down. Not from them, and definitely not from her gorgeous, arrogant brother, Hawk. My calm in the storm comes from the most unexpected place, because Wilder Clearwater is by my side constantly.
The elite have never included me, but the lines drawn are becoming blurry.
***Blurred Lines is a 36k Pacific Prep novella. It is highly recommended that you read the rest of the series first and to check the front of the book for content warning.
My name is Rachel. I live in the UK with my husband and two golden retrievers, and I am an author of dark, contemporary reverse harem romance.
If you love a story with a well thought out plot and good character development that will give you all the feels, then why not give one of my series a go?
Is it possible to have your heart ripped to shreds more than once? If so, that’s what R.A. just did to me. *Takes calming breath*
I’m not okay. I’m even less okay than I was after Break Free. Blurred Lines was almost like having R.A. Smyth taunting us and saying “Haha suckers! You thought you’d get the closure you needed but instead I added salt to your wounds”. Freaking asshole. I love her and her books but I swear she has a pool full of readers tears that she swims in. I WAS JUST COMING TO TERMS WITH LETTING GO OF THE PACIFIC PREP FAMILY! But she just had to roll in, throw the love story I wanted in my face, and tell me “now you have to wait until 2023”!
Emilia, Hawk, and Wilder’s story during Break Free’s timeline was pure fucking fire. Who the fuck told them they could go off and have an epic dumpster fire of a “relationship” where we couldn’t see it!? So rude! And it is a dumpster fire, but in a totally hot/epic kind of way. Ya know, the kind of dumpster fire where you just have to sit back and watch as it burns the entire neighborhood to the ground because it’s so enthralling. An awesome dumpster fire, is that a thing? Who the fuck cares, I’m making it a thing.
Gawd I’m not sure I can wait until 2023. I NEEEEEED the rest of their story, not this just the tip taunting BS the evil one gave us. R.A. Smyth don’t you know by now that we aren’t the “just the tip” kind of readers!? Gah, fuck me, I’m going to be obsessing over their story until it releases. Grab the book, grab the entire series if you haven’t read it. As much of a cruel asshole R.A. Smyth is, she is a DAMN good author.
“Get off me, Wilder. I need to clean myself up.” “No.” The word is a deep, barely human snarl that has her freezing beneath me, her eyes widening. “We’re going to stay here until I can fuck you into realizing this is not a one-time thing.”
That was hot Do it again
Imma wait like a good little girl for Hawk and Wilder's book with Emilia. Emilia should be me. I should be her. Just me and only me.
I've been looking forward to reading this Pacific Prep Novella since the series ended, & now with Emilia's series so close to release...I finally read it! I loved seeing the start of Wilder, Em & Hawk! I read this story in 2hrs, had so much fun & nostalgia.
So reading this novella will spoil you about ‘Break free’, last novel in ‘Pacific Prep’ series, so it's best read after it. I recommend this series, Hadley & her guys are awesome!
"I maintain that last night was the reckless, spontaneous last-hoorah I wanted before graduation."
I loved seeing the different sides of all 3 here, caring, obsessive. Plus, they're wild & combustible together! This definitely gave us an insight to their attraction that led to the 3some.
Em found a family with Hadley & the guys, she maybe starting a new adventure for college. But I'm excited to see her way back to Hawk, Wilder...& More!
"It’s not my world. I can’t afford to take a risk on either of them and let the future I have planned for myself fall by the wayside, regardless of how much my heart hurts at leaving them behind." ___ FB Page | Instagram | Bookbub | FB group
I didn't realize how much I missed Pacific Prep until I picked up this novella! 😫 It filled in all of the gaps I was curious about when it came to what was going on with Emilia, Wilder, and Hawk throughout the timeline of Break Free. I loved seeing how everything went down and the build up to the spice was SO WORTH IT! Not only was there great banter but seeing Wilder get super protective and Hawk jealous had me falling for them both even more! The chemistry between the three of them when they finally decided to give in to each other was explosive to say the least and it was everything I had expected from them plus more! 🔥 I also enjoyed Hawk's POV because we got to see just how far he's come since the beginning of the series. Watching him be a cinnamon roll when he was doting on and caring for Hadley had my insides melting, but what can I say? I LOVE the protective brother trope so I was doomed from the start! 🤷🏼♀️ Even knowing what would happen I was still hoping that something would change and it would end differently but I'm not really all that upset. I have mad respect for Emilia because that girl will not let boys or feelings put all of her life plans on hold! I'm just so proud of her for staying strong and starting her new life away from her found family so she can chase her dreams! I have no doubt that her series is going to be awesome and I am already looking forward to it SO MUCH! I'm hoping that those boys will be the ones to chase her down and not the other way around and I'm already wanting next year to hurry up so I can see what will happen with these three! 🤞🏻
Whew!! You thought she was done? Heckkk no, RA brings it again with the intense chemistry that is Wilder, Emilia, and Hawk! No doubt you’ll be fanning and swooning over the intense way these guys choose to pursue a relationship, a hook up ship if you will, with our girl Emilia. Diving back into the events that happened during Break Free, Hadley’s story in Pacific Prep, this novella will give you all the insight you need to root for Emilia and her happy ending… so aren’t we some lucky ducks that this is just the beginning to these three’s story?! 😍🔥🔥 I absolutely cannot wait to see how Rachel brings these characters back to each other after graduation and the end of their time at Pacific Prep. An absolute must read if you loved Pacific Prep and want to get a spin on what happened in Break Free through Wilder, Emilia, & Hawk’s PoV.
Oh man oh man, why is this a Novella and not a full blown series? I need this in my life already.
This overlaps with Break Free, so you see what Emilia is up to whilst it’s all going down. We get an insight not only to her, but also Hawk and Wilder. Hawk in his denial, Wilder in his obsession, Emilia in her own version of Breaking Free. Away from Pac Prep and everyone in it, even if only for a short time.
I knew I wasn’t ready to leave this world behind, so I am so grateful to get a little more. It’s so good. Everything you knew you needed after reading..stuff. But it sure does leave you wanting a whole heap more. I need more Emilia/Wilder/Hawk in my life.
Calling all fans of Pacific Prep, who am I kidding that's everyone. Stop what you are doing and pick up this novella!
Rachel has given her fans what they wanted and that is Emilia, Hawke and Wilder. I for one am down for the steam and swoon worthy moments we have been gifted!
Many of you know Hawk has always been my favourite Prince, with his muscles stacked upon muscles and his alphahole ways, he stole my heart and ran away with it. This different insight into him has been everything for me and I could just take more and more.
Oh gawd, I was not expecting the hotness that is Wilder. We get to see how he felt during Break Free and damn near broke my heart. He may act like the world doesn't fazed him but that couldn't be further from the truth, I loved seeing a different side to him and could just eat him up.
Just wow! This novella follows Emilia, Hawk, and Wilder. It’s everything I didn’t know I needed. I wasn’t ready to let this series go, and this helped so much. While I hope we see some crossover in later series, this will keep me satisfied for awhile. I dove in, knowing where this was going to end, but it was so satisfying I may have cried a little when I was finished. Love R.A.‘s writing style, so much.
This is Emilia's story. It starts on the day when Hadley has been taken by Cam's Dad. Emilia goes to find Hadley. And the story ends when they all leave Pacific Prep to start their futures. It was nice to get the POV's of Emilia, Hawk and Wilder. And we get to see frienships develop and other stuff, but I don't want to spoil too much.
It was a nice enjoyable read. The author also wrote books about Emilia. And I hope we will all her Pacific Prep friends again.
I absolutely loved this novella!! It was so good to get amelias, Hawk and wilders povs in this. I loved how protective Amelia was and how she didn't care what anyone thought when it came to finding out what was going on with Hadley. I loved how close she became with wilder and how he tried to protect her just as much, it made me laugh so much how many times her and Hawk butted heads but there was always that fondness even if she says she hates him. I was so glad we got the scene from after the party of what really happened between them three and omg the bathroom scene was just as funny the 2nd time round that I read it.. I really did feel for wilder at the end tho as he was getting so attached to her and she just left... I am beyond happy that them 3 are getting there own series though even if it is a while away. Overall I loved this book and its left me wanting so much more from them
After falling in love with this world, I was beyond excited to be back and getting to know more about Emilia! Our studious scholarship girl has spent all of high school with her nose in a book and no time actually having fun… that’s where Hawk and Wilder come into play 😏
Hawk is Hadley’s brother, who’s stacked with muscles and has an all around broody a-hole attitude (hard on the outside with a hidden soft center, my favorite 😍). And Wilder is our snarky, dark knight casanova who’s determined to show Emilia a good time and man oh man do these three have some fun 🥵🔥🥵🔥🥵🔥
So while these three didn’t exactly run off into the sunset together, I have very high hopes that we’ll see them again soon!!
When I heard R.A. Smyth was writing a novella about Emilia, I was so excited! Emilia is a loyal best friend and I loved the bond she had with Hadley.
I read this novella in one sitting because I could not get enough of Emilia, Hawk, and Wilder’s romance! This novella is just the tip of the iceberg and it has left me wanting more of these three!
I can’t believe I have to wait a WHOLE year to find out what happens to these three. Honestly.. I’m not sure how I’ll make it because as much as I loved the Pacific Prep series, the tension between these three is killing me.
If you've read Pacific Prep, you need to read this one! I definitely wasn't ready to let Pac Prep go, and this is the icing on top.
Blurred Lines follows Emilia, Wilder and Hawk. We see what happened in Break Free from another angle. Even though I already knew some of what was happening, I was still on the edge of my seat.
Can we talk about Wilder? He's hilarious, a bit unhinged, but hilarious 🤣 I love him so much! He's a little sweet, but also has that other side of darkness to him. And Hawk!! Ah! He is definitely an alphahole, but *swoon*
By the time I got to the end of the novella I was a little teary eyed, but also screaming! Read it and you'll find out why!
As I've probably said before, RA is one of my favorites and will read anything she writes and I cannot wait for Black Creek!! (And anything else she has planned!)
This novella follows Emilia, Hawk, and Wilder from the Pacific Prep series. I loved these characters in that series and this novella just made me love them even more. You get to see a few scenes from Break Free but from a different POV which was funny at some points, like the bathroom scene between Emilia and Hadley!
Emilia is such a great friend to Hadley that I was pulling for her to get her own happily ever after. Wilder is hilarious but there is so much more to him. He has depth and would make such a great boyfriend. Hawk is an alpha, but is protective of Hadley and would be good for Emilia. I enjoyed Emilia, Wilder, and Hawk together. They made me laugh, swoon a little, and even get a little teary towards the end. Their story was just too short so I am glad that they will be getting their own series, but we will have to wait until 2023.
I absolutely love Hawk, Wilder and Emilia! This novella was just enough to leave me wanting more of them! Blurred Lines will give you some backstory that you missed in the Pacific Prep series, as well as a look at what really happened between these three the night of the party… it’s a must read for all Pacific Prep fans!
This was a great, quick read and I can’t wait for more! Im especially excited to see the bromance between Wilder and Hawk!!
Emilia has always been studious, she kept her head down at PAC Prep, and she ignored as much of the politics as possible. Until Hadley came into her life.
This was a novella about the events that we didn’t see during the pacific prep series, and man was it hot! I love how loyal she is, and how she found her fire and came into her own. I’m excited for her own books to come!
This is a novella for a side character from Pacific Prep so I highly suggest reading that series first!! We get POV mainly from Emilia with a chapter or 2 from Wilder and Hawk each. The bathroom scene is just as hilarious this time around from Emilia’s POV 😂. This novella lines up time wise with the last pac prep book and does in fact leave you hanging just on a little emotional cliff. Very excited for more. This novella was perfection.
If you have been missing Pacific Prep after it ended in December don't be too sad R.A. Smyth has given us the gift of Blurred Lines. We get to see a different perspective of the last term at Pacific Prep and what Hadley and the guys had to go through. This book's focus though was Emilia, Wilder, and Hawk and it was a story I needed.
While there is not as much darkness as Pacific Prep because Emilia is mostly on the outside of what Hadley goes through we do see some of the Hawk and Wilder's darker sides. Hawk is a huge part of Pacific Prep and we see how dark and angry he is in those books. In Blurred Lines, we get to see a deeper side to Hawk. We also get a glimpse of what makes Wilder tick and he is much more than he seems.
I look forward to more of this story and I hate that I will have to wait while R.A. Smyth works on another series (Black Creek). But I can't wait to read Black Creek too so that will ease the sting of the wait for "The Ruthless Boys of Ridgeway".
We get back to Pacific Prep after the holidays and Emilia is looking forward to seeing Hadley again. It turns out Hadley is missing. Emilia is not going to stand by while her best friend is missing so she spends every day banging on the Prince's door arguing with Hawk for answers.
While she worries and frets over Hadley, Wilder is by her side watching over her and being there. He's on the outside too because it's his fault Hadley is missing and the guys aren't letting him forget it.
Wilder won't stand on the outside though, Hadley means something to him and it's important he helps get her back. So he crashes the guy's dorm and plans to rescue Hadley. Together they bring Hadley home.
With Hadley home, they all worry about her but Emilia sticks close by even though Hadley isn't coping she keeps her mask in place. While Emilia continues to be around she becomes more a part of the group. Surprisingly Hawk doesn't mind her being around and in his space, even spending time with her alone.
The final Friday night party of the year gives Emilia the chance to let down her hair and fulfill her want to finish school with a last-hoorah. With a little push from Wilder, Emilia makes the first move with Hawk and after a moment to catch up to the plan he's onboard for one night of fun.
Wilder doesn't want just one night though he wants to keep Emilia and share her with Hawk. Even Hawk seems to break his rule of one night, he swears it will just be those two times and doesn't let on that he could want more.
Emilia though has plans and they don't involve more with Hawk and Wilder. She has the summer to let loose and finally have some fun before college. If she were to have more with Wilder and Hawk she could see herself falling and that could be enough to break her and derail all her well-laid plans. She just hopes Wilder will understand.
It's no secret that I am now a R.A. Smyth stan, so when I head she was releasing a novella with Emilia, Wilder, and Hawk I was PUMPED! We caught a tiny bit of the three of them in Break Free but Rachel left us wanting more!
Emilia has everything planned out in life. She knows she does not have the money to do whatever she wants like Hadley's guys, and she works extremely hard to get the grades she needs in order to be successful. But when the guys find out that E had an ALMOST menage with the band guys, Wilder and Hawk decide to give her one night of fun. ONE NIGHT. Let me tell you, that one night was HAWTTTT, and I think the fact that Hawk is not a major fan of Wilder and they're competing with each other makes the spice even better! Wilder and Hawk were saying things that had me drooling and I seriously could not get enough! But when the night is over and Emilia is prepared to leave it at that... the guys have other things in mind.
Honestly, I loved seeing/hearing Wilder's inner thoughts. He truly has no filter and some of the things he was saying was killing me! He is such an awesome hero and I can't wait to see more of him.
I was a tiny bit frustrated with Emilia and Hawk BUT I know that Rachel is doing this for a reason and I can't wait to see the three of these MC's grow as people throughout the years! Read this whole series!!
Slots in well (time wise) with book four, "Break Free". So if you're tempted to read this it's imperative you've read that already!
This mainly gives us the same events but from Emilia, Hawk and Wilders sides.
It was great to see how much Emilia really does love her 'ride or die' and not even the fearsome dragon of Hawk guarding the door can stop her from eventually getting into their down room and trying to find her!
It was also fun to see the true Wilder. We had only seen this cocky, devil-may-care, lone wolf personality. But that's not all he is. There's substance behind that mask he puts on!
The rescue mission to the compound was great to watch from the guys sides, and I loved how well Wilder fit in with them as they raided and rallied to find Hadley.
Wouldn't be Pacific Prep without a scorching hot scene and I hope they repeat it further down the line as they were good together!!
Not essential, but fills in blanks, gives insight to characters and just a great read, so I'd strongly recommend it!.
I received a copy of the ebook in return for an honest review
I’m so happy about this novella! I’ve been wanting this since I read a certain scene in Break Free (iykyk) and boy was I not disappointed. Be sure to read the Pacific Prep series before this. There are some major spoilers and you won’t understand the premise without reading that first.
First, I loved seeing the events through Emilia’s eyes. She is such an amazing friend and seeing just how much she cares about Hadley was amazing. Next, we have her, Wilder, and Hawk. Man, I never expected that trio but I am happy with the results. I didn’t think I could love Wilder more but getting into his head just made my affection for him grow. He’s such a fun guy with a bit of psycho added in. Hawk was his usually grumpy self but it was nice seeing a different side to him. We not only get to see the chemistry between him and Emilia, which was plain 🥵. But we also see more about how much he loves Hadley and will do anything to make her happy. Plus, I’m totally here for the bromance between him and Wilder. The ending was bittersweet but I am so excited that there is going to be more! I can’t wait to see what is in store for these three.
I think I was more excited for this novella than I was for the final book of the Pacific Prep series. I just loved these characters so much and I really, really needed to have their story. It did not disappoint at all. Well, I guess I would’ve liked it longer and showing more of the future but I can only hope that there will be a second novella (I’m a tad greedy).
This novella took place over the course of more than just one book of the series. In doing so we see the progression of the relationships, different points of view and events that occurred behind the scenes that we weren’t able to see with the other books.
I actually enjoyed how this story played out. I feel like it’s realistic for these characters and I think that there is more they need to experience and explore. I’m so thankful the author brought this story and the characters to light because it needed to be told. I hope we get to see more from this world.
I fell in love with Emilia in the Pacific prep books, she was the perfect best friend for Hadley and, as with most book besties I wanted to know more about her and what happens after. So when I saw that we were getting a novella with not one but two leading men to keep the MFC happy, I just had to know who she was going to end up with. At the end of the final book in the series we get a snippet of something that happens with this leading lady and I’ve been thirsty for more since. The timeline for this overlaps with the final half of Break Free but rather than focusing on Hadley and her harem we find out what Emilia got up to. This novella has the right amount of spice and it filled in some gaps for her and the guys. This is the icing on the cake to a brilliant series and the perfect tease for a future series! I thought this was the end but it’s turning out to be the beginning of a fictional universe I can get lost in forever.
Once again, I’m hooked back into the Pac Prep world with Hawk, Wilder, and Emilia. I loved Wilder in Hadley’s story with his sarcasm and twisted sense of humor. Who doesn’t love an adorable psycho? BUT HAWK!!!
Hawk has some pent up emotions with some controlling tendencies and I am here for it. He was explosive and made my insides burn. I cannot wait to see more of him.
Emilia was a surprise for me. I liked her more than I thought I would since she is so different from Hadley. I’m excited to see where she will go.
BUT you have to wait into 2023 for there series. I have already added this to my to be read and cannot wait to see more.
This is a Pacific Prep novella and a little intro into what’s to come for Hawk, Wilder, and Emeila’s series.
I absolutely loved Hawk in Pacific Prep and am so glad we’re going to get his story next. The chemistry with the three of them is off the charts and with Emeila running for the hills, we just know the story is going to get. Not to mention Wilder is hilarious.
Wilder only frowns, and I swear he grumbles something under his breath that sounds like, “But I liked being pussy brothers,” but I choose to ignore it. I’m absolutely not encouraging that shit.
I cannot wait to see more of this trio & am curious if Emeila will be adding any other guys to make her own harem.
I am pretty mad RA Smyth. She not only gave me exactly what I wanted but she left me wanting so much more. I was definitely not ready to leave Pac Prep, but this novella gave me a little bit of closure after Break Free while leaving a carrot dangling in front of my face. I had been dying to see Emilia, Hawk and Wilder together! Blurred Lines overlaps Break Free from when Hadley went missing to graduation. It filled in the gaps of what was going on with Emilia, but that's where it ends. It leaves us at graduation with no resolution. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for our little family.
