Nate
Delaying treatment for my bum knee until the off season isn’t the smartest move, but hey, I’m a big dumb jock. And pro hockey players play, come hell or broken bones.

That stupid knee sends me sprawling in front of the prettiest lady in Central Park. She’s also smart, and kind, and she bonds with my young daughter Quinn over strawberry cheesecake ice cream. Can’t hurt to ask her out for coffee, right?

Carly
There aren’t many options for a laid-off au pair in New York City. I can’t live on couch surfing, ranty blogging, and less ranty freelance articles forever, but I won’t work with kids again. It’s too painful when it ends.

But coffee with a single dad hot athlete can’t hurt, right? Maybe a second date. Heck, why not make it one steamy night in his bed? But when Nate has to go under the knife, he asks me to help care for his daughter. I don’t want to be a nanny again, but I can’t turn him down. I’ll have to keep my guard up to protect my heart.

Single dad/nanny romance for the win! Carly is in New York, staying with a friend and looking for work but she definitely doesn't want to be an au pair after bonding with children in her last family and then being left behind when they moved away. She's had a chance meeting with hockey player Nate and his daughter Quinn in a park more than once, and a few dates with Nate (including a sexy night together), when he broaches the idea of her helping to take care of Quinn while he has knee surgery, and during the recovery period after. She's tempted despite her reservations. It would give her somewhere to stay (and some much needed cash) while she works on finishing her degree in gender and sexuality studies. Living with Nate makes things complicated though - now she's his employee. Is that the end of a possible relationship between them?

I loved this story! The connection between Nate and Carly is felt from their first meeting. The sparks between them don't disappear when they start living together and they have to navigate the complications of being boyfriend/girlfriend slash employee/employer. Quinn is a delightful child and I liked that Nate and his ex-wife are still friends and take her wellbeing seriously, with Quinn mostly staying with her dad while his ex is working in another city. The author tackles some important issues including toxic masculinity and how it affects men's sports (like hockey). Nate's teammates are also his good friends and as a seasoned hockey writer the author knows the ins and outs of the sport, including dealing with injuries, agents, and the uncertainties that come up season to season. The combination of sports and romance is well handled and I enjoyed every minute of Nate and Carly's story.

This one was interesting in many ways, the first was how unsure Nate was of himself from the start. You would think that being a big time hockey player that wouldn't be. I can see how the injury made him feel that way, but there was so much more. Some of the time Nate didn't react well, like with Carly after Quinn went back to her mom. But some of the time Nate took that unease and used it well, like the hockey fight. On the surface it didn't look good, but his explanation in the locker room and in the press conference was spot on.

There were times that Carly was much the same. Like when Quinn went back to her mom. Things were ugly then, mostly because the 2 of them weren't talking and both of them ended up feeding their own insecurities, which was too bad because they were good together.

I was glad when Nate figured a way to talk to Carly and laid it all out, it made it so that they could find their way back to each other and happiness.

Piacevole lettura.

I am always a fan of Kelly Jamieson’s hockey romances. Scoring Big gives us all the part of hockey romance that I love. The friends and team dynamic. The hard work that comes with being a pro-athlete. What it takes to balance dating and hockey.

Nate and Carly are a great couple. I loved their meet cute and love of Strawberry Cheese Cake Ice Cream. I really liked how Carly challenged Nate. Nate is forced to look at how he interacts in the world around him, as a pro athlete and girl dad.

Nate and Carly are such well thought out characters. I am always a fan close proximity and the look but can’t touch kind of vibes. This was a fast read and the right amount of spice to keep the romance and story going. If you love a hockey romance you should absolutely be reading this.

Nate is focused on his career as a professional hockey player and his daughter Quinn. A chance meeting with Carly in the park turns out to be destiny as not only is there an attraction between them that is too strong to deny but she is there for him and his daughter when they need someone the most.

Carly is uncertain what the future holds however working as a nanny was both the most rewarding and difficult job she has had. When she meets Nate, she is drawn to both father and daughter so she agrees to look after Quinn while he heals from surgery and they soon realize that crossing lines has never been so much fun.

The interactions between them are humorous and the chemistry between them is intense but their story still has an emotional pull that will have you invested in the characters and the happiness they both deserve.

Totally loved this book, it was sweet, definitely emotional & also funny. I enjoyed the strong, sensitive characters of Nate & Carly & Quinn who stole many scenes in this book. Love & emotional loss, not feeling good enough or deserving enough runs strong through this book as Carly deals with the sadness of being discharged from her previous nanny position & losing the children she’d fallen in love with & Nate finally realizes that he doesn’t want to do the one night stands anymore & wants to find that special relationship. When they first meet there’s definitely sparks & when Nate needs help with Quinn the sparks ignite a fire that burns bright & intense. The angst of feelings turns raw as miscommunication between everyone sends Carly running & leaves both she & Nate wondering was it real. Definitely recommend.

This is the third book in this incredible series, and this is Nate and Carly’s story. Nate is a professional hockey player, and single dad, who has a knee injury that he is holding off getting treatment for until the off season. Carly is a blogger, and is in the process of writing a book, and she and Nate cross paths when his knee gives in and sends him sprawling in front of her. This is a well written story which is a quick read, with friendships. Teammates, emotions, challenges, witty banter, humor, anxiety, and love, which leads to an entertaining and heartfelt page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Kelly Jamieson gives us More Bears Hockey and another couple to love.
Carly Corrigan is a woman at a crossroads in her life and her career, when she has a unexpected encounter with a gorgeous man and his adorable daughter while jogging.
Nate Karmeinski is a single dad and a hockey player for The New York Bears but he is also is trying to manage both and when he meets Carly he never thought she would change both there lives for the better.
Carly & Nate have an incredible chemistry but should they cross the line from employer to more, but sometimes the pull is just to much. Watching them navigate through some up and downs and the feelings they both feel you can’t help cheer them on.

From sweet to sensuous, Jamieson continues to pull at the thread of emotion with tempting accuracy. Scoring Big finds it's center in the vulnerability of life and it's heart in it's tenacity of spirit. An uneven match that fits just right.

This is going to be one of the best single dad and nanny book I’ve ever read honestly. Nate and Carly were the main characters in this. It was always interesting. It also of course has hockey in it as well. I do recommend as well. I can’t wait to add this one to my shelf.

I started off really enjoying this book. Nate and Carly's first encounter was quite entertaining and Quinn is hard not to love. Nate and Carly had obvious chemistry and I feel like the process of them balancing life while navigating new feelings was very relatable. As the story went on, it struggled to hold my attention. Nate was awesome, but Carly just wasn't relatable for me. I felt like she analyzed all of Nate's actions and had him overthinking his decisions as well. There was so much about men acknowledging and communicating their feelings and Carly was a huge proponent of this, then she'd bolt and not communicate. The entire interaction at dinner when her ex showed up blew my mind, and she took no responsibility for it. I appreciate authors touching on social issues, but the constant mention and over analysis of Nate's behaviors took up too much story.

I like the kinder and gentler side to the Chicago Bears II world that Kelly Jamieson has created. I was immediately wrapped up in this story the minute the hero and heroine meet, their chemistry leapt off the page and it never let up. In addition, Ms. Jamieson continues to tackle the tough subjects of toxic masculinity and mental health in pro sports.

Nate and Carly meet in an interesting way and then he literally falls in front of her at the park and they strike up a conversation. She also makes quite an impression on his seven year old daughter, Quinn.

Nate is a NHL player with a knee injury that isn’t healing like he wants. Carly is couch surfing while trying to figure out what she wants to do next after her nanny gig in France ended. They have one great date and then Nate asks Carly to move in to watch Quinn while he is healing from surgery. She agrees but tells him they can no longer be in a relationship which he doesn’t agree with but agrees.

I liked these two together, Nate is an awesome dad and it is easy to see that his daughter is the most important thing in his life. I liked these two together, Nate is an awesome dad and it is easy to see that his daughter is the most important thing in his life and while he knows keeping things on a professional level with Carly is the right thing to do, it doesn’t feel right. Carly questions her workplace ethics every day. She also knows she’s in trouble once again of caring deeply for another child and family something she told herself she wouldn’t do after France. The both have emotional demons that rise up and threaten their burgeoning relationship, but both of them do the work to ensure they have a healthy relationship.

A surprise was a new team owner and new team leadership that will more than likely make things even more interesting in the future. Likeable characters, sizzling chemistry, emotional growth, and big changes for the team made Scoring Big a fantastic addition to this series.

We are back in New York with the Bears, and I could not be more excited! I have grown to adore these men and their lovely ladies! Friends I was not prepared to adore Nate Karmeinski, but he completely stole my heart. Nate is a divorced single father, an assistant captain to his hockey team, and a man that is a little restless. Nate is an extremely dedicated father to his young daughter, Quinn. From the get go it was clear that this little girl was the center of his world. When he is in need of a nanny for his young daughter, and someone to help him recover from an injury. Carly Corrigan is recently back from overseas where she worked as an au pair. She too is a little restless and trying to find her way in the large city.
She has such a kind, genuine heart, and it is very smart. She is just needing to find her niche and her thing. Kelly Jamieson always does awesome “meet cutes” and Carly and Nate’s does not disappoint. How this trio meet and hit it off from the get go made me smile. Carly immediately falls into natural conversation with Quinn while Nate takes the backseat mesmerized. Both desperate, they agree to have a business relationship, but their romantic feelings need to take a backseat. I love how Carly treats those around her, she is always curious and challenges people's thinking but not in an off putting way. Nate works hard to be the best father, friend, mentor, and partner. There is a scene where he is with his daughter and school and I almost melted. I was cheering so loud and fist pumping for him! Nate also has his own struggles and things he is working through. Carly supports him and understands him in a way that nobody else has before. In turn Nate encourages and gives Carly the space to do what she loves the most. They are such great examples of loving and supporting each other emotionally. This pair are so perfectly suited for one another, and their chemistry is off the charts they will melt your Kindle! Move over Jackson Wynn, Nate Karmeinski might be taking the top book boyfriend spot!

5 ⭐️ 🏒 there is so much I love in this story I can’t do it justice

I LOVE 💕 THIS STORY!!!!

C’est la vie. (It’s life)
C’est la vie j’aime. (It’s life I love)

Such a small change makes a big difference in the meaning, going from something that implies you have no control over what is happening , to expressing love for life. The latest book in the Bear’s hockey series has so many gems and words of wisdom, mainly driven by the female lead character, Carly, I couldn’t wait to finish it and then was so disappointed that it was over. I loved Carly’s approach to life and how she constructively worked to change how feelings were expressed, whether you were a child or an adult, starting with first recognizing your feeling, acknowledging it, then voicing your feelings rather than simply reacting. The best part was how this rubbed off on Nate and he stood up for his daughter in the principal’s office. Though his daughter had reacted badly to a situation at school, that the boy was getting a pass because he was being a boy just wasn’t right and Nate called the principal on it b
Kelly, we didn’t get the end of this episode!

Nate is recovering from a knee injury, starting to worry how it would affect his hockey career, he was getting old, and what would he do? He really didn’t have much other than his hockey and his daughter Quinn. Then he literally fell in front of Carly and so starts the romance.
Carly is unemployed and homeless. Her latest gig as a au pair in Paris is over, and she is heartbroken, missing her kids, living on the sofa of her best friend who shared an apartment with two others. She needs a job and a place to live, but isn’t sure what she wants do. She never finished her degree, and isn’t sure she knows what to do with it anyway. She loves writing and her blog is doing well and she has sold a few independent articles. Then she meets Nate in the park with Quinn and now she is more confused than ever.

A fabulous book!

Kelly Jamieson wades into some pretty important messages in Scoring Big and does them justice while delivering an entertaining and enjoyable book.

Carly writes blog posts, articles and is working in a book she titled ‘Be a Man’. In Carly’s role as nanny to Nate’s daughter, Quinn, she helps the young girl with her fears and anxiety around a sudden change in her living arrangement. She also had some deep conversations with Nate about some emotional issues.

I loved how Kelly Jamieson wove timely discussions into this book. Topics like being vulnerable, dealing with anxiety, acknowledging fears and restating them to overcome them, toxic masculinity and several more aren’t typically included in a sports romance.
These topics really elevated the interactions with substantive dialogue and discussions between Carly and Nate, and between Carly and his teammates when she meet them.

Both Carly and Nate have to learn to overcome some emotional hurdles of being taken advantage of by others to achieve a HEA. Carly has been hurt after poring her heart into taking care of other peoples children and then they are taken from her. Nate is no longer hung up on his ex-wife, but he still has some emotional wounds from learning his wife had fallen in love with someone else while they were married. That the someone else was a smart and very successful ‘suit’ reinforced his inner demons.

I received a free ARC from the author and Elle Woods PR; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

“Scoring Big” is a fun, flirty, sensational and heartfelt single Dad romance that pulled me in with the cute way Nate and Carly meet and kept me turning the pages as their connection blossomed.

Nate is a defensemen on the Bears hockey team and is rehabbing a knee injury to avoid surgery. While out with his daughter, Quinn, his knee gives out in front of Carly. Playing it off, the two have an instant connection. Carly is back in town after spending the last three years being a nanny in Europe. She’s at a crossroads in her life as she figures out what she wants to do next. Fate brings them back together when Nate needs a nanny while he recovers from surgery and the attraction they have for each other is still there.

I loved Nate and Carly from the very first chapter and could not put their story down. Hockey romances are my favorite and this one was so great. It had lots of hockey moments which made me so happy. Nate was an instant favorite from the beginning. I loved how sweet and caring he was with his daughter. And his flirting with Carly was so swoony. Carly is relatable on her struggles on figuring out her next move in life. I loved their spicy scenes together and all the time they spent together getting to know each other. The added plot of discussing how mental health and masculinity is viewed in the sports world was one of my favorite things about the book. The last few chapters and ending were perfect and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Kelly Jamieson has once again given us a captivating story that pulled at our heartstrings. This is Nate and Carly’s emotional and entertaining journey and all I’m going to say is this book has it all, I went through every emotion as I joined this couple on their journey.
Nate needs to have knee surgery durning the off season and that means he need help looking after his daughter Quinn who he has living with him durning the summer. After falling at Carly’s feet in the park he learns she is looking for a job and has been a nanny before, add in the fact she seems to have it hit off with Quinn means she would be perfect for the job. Problem is he finds his new nanny extremely attractive and she feels the same way so will this couple mix business and pleasure, will they cross the line and risk it all….one click to find out.
I loved everything about this book, I fell hard and fast for Nate and Carly, I adored Quinn who had some perfect one liners only a child could get away with but what took this book to another level was the vulnerability Nate and a teammate showed when they opened up to the issues they live with everyday. A wonderful addition to the Bears Hockey II Series and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next now the new owners have taken over. I smiled, I shed a tear but I was left smiling and that’s makes this read a win win for me,

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a wonderful sports romance with a male lead, Nate who is a wonderful hockey playing single dad to his daughter Quinn. He and Quinn meet Carly at the park a few times and they form a friendship and date.

They both really like each other. But Carly is at a crossroads in her life. She is living on her friends couch and has no job and profession. She loves kids but also connects a bit too easily and so her former job, a nanny, was something that was painful for her. She is trying to find a boring job but it's a struggle.

Nate is struggling as well. He loves hockey and his friends on the team. He has an awesome daughter and a good relationship with his ex, but he needs surgery, and he needs help with his daughter while he recovers.

Can he convince Carly to be help him out? Can they date and make it work while he recovers? And can Carly find a job?

This is a story about meeting the right guy at the wrong time and having to figure out what you want to do with your life. What is important and how to make it all work. It's a story about two people who find each other at a point in time that things are a bit messy, and they have to figure out how to make it work.

Book three in the Bears Hockey II Series. I love a good single dad story, especially when he’s a girl dad. Nate may not be perfect, but he’s a great dad. He literally falls for Carly, an out of work au pair, aspiring author, and genuinely good person.

Physical injuries and emotional injuries alter their course. This is a Right person… wrong time story. Due to uncontrollable circumstances, Nate and Carly have to put their budding relationship on hold when she goes to work for him. C’est la vie.

Although it’s not ideal, it gives them the time to grow their friendship and really get to know each other. To put down a strong base on which to build a great relationship. Not only between them but also with Quinn, Nate’s daughter.

And can we talk about Quinn???? I f#*@%ing love her and her dirty little mouth! I wanted to stand up and cheer when she and Nate were in the principal’s office. And I liked that he loves her more than life, but doesn’t let her walk all over his or Carly’s authority.

I liked this book. Kelly writes great mature characters. Their relationships are based on more than just the physical. But don’t worry, Kelly brings the heat!

What a great story that will make you laugh out loud, yet experience all the feels while you read! 5 hot hockey stars for this one!
Carly is back in New York, after the family she was working for decided to move to Canada and tell her she was no longer needed. Now she's spends her nights on her besties couch, and her days looking for a job, and running. While out one day running in the park, she comes across a hot guy and his daughter, who's wearing a mask and a cape, the cutest thing she's ever seen! She starts to bump into these two quite a bit while out and about, she really likes the guy, but how can she think of anything right now when she has nothing.
Nate has been sharing the duties of raising his daughter Quinn with his ex wife, and it works. Until she decides to take a job out in California, and leave their daughter with him. He doesn't mind at all, he loves her, even with her cursing that she definitely learned from him. He decides to ask Carly if she can help him out, because he will be having knee surgery also so he definitely needs her help.
Read along as these two try to keep apart while she's working for him, something that isn't so easy to do!

Kelly Jamieson lights the lamp with SCORING BIG (Bears Hockey II #3). Carly Corrigan moves back to New York after living in Paris as an au pair for the past three years. After her heart breaking from missing the kids she watched, she vowed not to be an au par again. However, New York Bear’s defenseman and single dad Nate Karmeinski talked her into temporarily watching his daughter Quinn after he needs knee surgery.

SCORING BIG is a heartfelt read. I liked the characters. I love how Carly initially meets Nate and his daughter Quinn. Carly had interesting outlooks. She was amazing with Quinn. Nate is a fantastic dad. I like that he was open minded. I appreciated how characters from the previous book were integrated into this story. The characters faced interesting obstacles. They grew as they struggled with various circumstances. They were several thought-provoking issues talked about in this story.

SCORING BIG was skillfully written and entertaining. It was an excellent addition to the Bears Hockey II series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Scoring Big (Bears Hockey ll, #3) by Kelly Jamieson.

I love hockey romance and was excited to get to read another story in this series. As always I was pulled into this entertaining, sweet, heartwarming and sensual romance that at the center of it is all is about being vulnerable, dealing with anxiety, as well as fears, toxic masculinity, as well as several more issues that are not typically dealt with in sports romance.

Leading into interesting in-depth dialogue and discussions between the main characters as well as his teammates. Bringing so much information about these issues to light and educating this reader in the process. This author brought it, capturing my interest and attention until the end.

“Life’s an adventure - take the risk.”

This is Nate Karmeinski and Carly Corrigan story. Their story is entertaining, fun, flirty, sensuous as well as emotional and heartwarming. I fell hard and fast for Nate and Carly’s relationship, and adored Nate’s daughter Quinn. Their story will have you going through every emotion as you watch and hope that these two get their HEA!

I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

Kelly Jamieson keeps giving us “everything we never knew we always wanted.” 😉

Nate is a single dad battling the effects from a lifetime of ADD. The stigmas associated with it before it’s diagnosed, the consequences of treating it versus not, and how important being understood is.

Carly has a huge heart and bigger dreams. She comes back to New York after living in Paris as an au pair for a few years, only ending that position when the family heads to Canada. She can’t stop herself from loving the kids, so she decides she can’t be a nanny.
That is… until one date leads to 2… leads to an offer she can’t really afford to pass up!

I loved this messy, crazy, funny story!! I loved how Kelly is diving Into topics and exploring them and building characters that are honest. She takes a spin on the single dad trope, gives us an author writing an author (so fun!), and the kid is adorable.
We get our spice Kelly never fails to disappoint with. We get more time with characters we love. And the twist at the end!!! No spoilers … so go read it!!

It's nice to be back with Bears Hockey - this time with single dad Nate and nanny Carly. Obviously, there's a kiddo who needs a nanny, 7-year-old Quinn. And here's where I go ahead and say that the story may be about Nate and Carly falling in love, but Quinn is the scene-stealer. These three are so good together, which makes it pretty easy to root for their happy ever after. The story is everything I expect from Kelly Jamieson. I know I'm gonna get a romance filled with chemistry and steamy goodness, and in the case of a series, I get at least a little look at past favorites. I don't want to give too much of the storyline away, but I like that some of the stigma surrounding learning disorders are addressed as well as gender roles and expectations. In fact, I loved one scene, in particular, involving Quinn's school and conflict - it brought back memories of a similar real-life scene at my own daughter's school back when the same ideas weren't popular. So, we have a single dad/nanny romance along with some sexy hockey players and another hard-to-put-down story by Kelly Jamieson.

Nate is far from perfect, but he is a great dad. He is also a hockey player with an injury who needs to find a nanny to help him with Quinn. He literally falls for Carly when he meets her and there is an instant spark. He is realizing that he wants serious with someone after his ex (and Quinn’s mom) left him the way she did.
Carly is an aspiring author who has had two nanny jobs that ended and left her gutted. When she meets Nate and Quinn she really likes them both but doesn’t want to get close. In desperate need of a place to stay and a job, she grudgingly accepts the nanny position, which means the one night she shared with Nate will remain that. . . One night.
There are so many wonderful things about this book. The relationship Nate has with his daughter, the honest way Nate and Carly got to know each other, but most importantly, in my opinion, is the underlying message throughout the book and what Carly’s book is going to be about.
I loved this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Scoring Big is taking us back to the world of the Bears hockey team and I am loving this series. Let me introduce you to Nate, handsome hardworking hockey player, single dad to the lovely and sassy little Quinn and also trying to keep himself and his wonky injured knee on the ice.
Carly has just relocated back to the big city after a lengthy nanny job across the pond. She is sleeping on a friend's couch, blogging, aspiring to be writer with her secret book and trying to regain her footing in the job world. It is a meet cute as a ruggedly handsome man literally lands in front of her in the park and he may or may not have the cutest little girl. The attraction is instant, but after a few sizzling dates they soon realize he needs a nanny more than a new girlfriend. As Carly sets up the barriers and rules to their new work relationship things are about to get very interesting as they share a residence and the care of Quinn and his world. This couple is sweet, funny, emotional, have great banter and yes, they are bringing on the sizzle!

Scoring Big is another wonderful story by Kelly Jamieson. She is one of my favorite authors because she knows how to write the perfect hockey romance, which is one of my favorite genres.

I was immediately immersed in this story and once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. Individually, Nate and Carly are great people and easy to like and together, they are perfection. They share a lot of chemistry and are vulnerable with each other, but also scared of being hurt.

Nate is a hockey player with a knee injury and he needs Carly’s help. Carly is trying to figure out her life and is hesitant to get involved with Nate. The strong attraction these two share scares Carly.

I loved reading Nate and Carly’s story and I was rooting for them to find their HEA together. Nate and Carly are both struggling in different ways and they help each other work through their problems. Nate’s daughter adds a sweet element to the story and there are also entertaining secondary characters. I highly recommend this one.
