I've been stolen by a monster.

Cold and calculating, he's nothing like the knight in shining armor I hoped would rescue me.
He tortures me with his hands and mouth, my inner Omega calling to him even as hate pulses through my veins.
He's the leader of the Saviors, the brutal Alpha bastards that kidnap Omegas like me.
Every part of me belongs to him and him alone.
I'm his to touch. His to take. His to claim.
Help isn't coming.
And by the time he's through with me...
I'm not sure I'll want to be saved.

Owned is the third and final book in the Alpha Collectors series. It features steamy scenes and dark themes, with a guaranteed HEA. Read at your own risk!

My Feminist self couldn't stand this book's high as fuck level of Stockholm syndrome. Even despite omegaverse romances being my kryptonite.

*spoilers*

And the whole thing about the Saviors, bitch I think the fuck not. I accepted and sort of forgave the whole Collectors thing because I learned it was for an okay cause but I AM NOT FORGIVING HUMAN TRAFFICKING for the benefit of sick male alpha fucks.

Is he a mafia boss or he is savior? hehe, my little play on words. Mia is an abused daughter without a caring or loving family. Her only hope is the possibility of landing a caring mate but it was almost ripped away when she was taken by the Saviors gang.

'A better man would let her go. A better man would bring her to her mate. I growl at that thought. I'm not a better man. And I don't know how I'll ever let her go.'

I enjoyed this one. It's been tough to find good Omegaverse books lately, especially on KU. I wish I was a fan of "Sweetverse" books, but I just need a darker element sprinkled throughout the story to keep my attention (which is probably a conversation for my therapist for another day). This book had a good balance of being dark, but not enough to completely weigh the story down. If you like possessive/morally grey heroes, praise kink, and virginal FMCs who are down on their luck, you may like this book too.

I appreciated that the author made the MMC Stephen a morally grey hero, where he was constantly fighting between what he wanted vs. what he knew was right. Sometimes his baser instincts won out, but at the end of the day he made sure the FMC Mia was protected and also consented where it mattered (even though it was a little dubious/Stolkholmy). When it was all said and done, Stephen was redeemable in my eyes.

This is the third in the author's Omegaverse series set in what I think is our contemporary world (see below as to why). While it's a standalone in terms of the couple, some terms, characters, and lines of action from previous books appear with no explanation: Saviors, for example, are never defined.

If you're looking for a relatively short, fairly mild, consensual Omegaverse underpinned by an interesting moral dilemma, you may enjoy this. While all the usual tropes are present (heat, slick, etc) and Stephan does hold Mia against her will, he never actually harms her; in addition, I caught few editing errors, and I appreciated Mia's strength and resilience.

That said, this book had Ms. Carlisle's usual skewed ratio of monologue to dialogue (long passages where the couple don't communicate at all); very cursory worldbuilding; and a predictable plot.

But my real problems were the unanswered questions and muddled given circumstances of this world. In all these books, we're told that once Omegas are chipped, they're matched with their "fated" mate -- indeed, to be with anyone else is physically, mentally, and emotionally bad for all concerned. So, how, then, could Mia's .

2 1/2 stars. I get that these books are short and development is at a premium, but the narrative should at least make sense and this didn't -- in spades.

Great end to the series! It all comes tumbling down...

Stephen is smitten with Mia from the beginning. Definitely don't touch her or die vibes. I thought the plot was interesting. At times I thought Stephen could have been less of an asshole, but I still enjoyed the overall story.

Ahh, endings

This is a bittersweet ending to this series. On one hand, I'll miss the adventures of the rugged Alpha Collectors as they try doggedly to pursue not only wayward omegas but those who would abuse them. On the other, this story was the perfect ending to this series as it wrapped up not only the overall plot arc, but was a great read with its' surprising plot twists.

Knox and Mia were the anti-heroes this series needed to send it off. Both these characters come with a broken past into a situation that requires the survival instincts that have kept them alive since childhood and been honed by life's daily hardships. Those instincts and trust are the only things that may get them out alive, but as a captive can Mia afford to give that much to Knox? It's a worthy leap of faith this read and one you won't regret. Get ready for some Heat and a lot of knotty fun

Mia presents as an Omega and finally feels that her life is taking a positive step forward. Her homelife is one of pain and Misery. It has made her stronger, but also has her longing to find happiness away from past.

Of course life cannot go as expected and Mia is snatched out of safety grip, and she is soon tossed into a darker world then the one she previously left.

Stephan(Knox) is the Head of The Saviors, he is a cold, calculated man who has no warm to him at first.

As the story moves on, both characters are put into situations that cause fear, grief and the truth about life that we sometimes do not see within a book. It was handled in a way that was understandable dark and can make the reader hesitant as they read on. But a story must be told, even with the darker material.

The Character grow and change as the story moves forward. The ending is a happy one, but the road is full of potholes and twists in the path.

With the series at an end, Liliana Carlisle will keep us hooked with another wonderful story soon enough.

I flew through this author’s books. These aren’t what I would consider beginning omegaverse books unless you really like dark romance too. There are situations that would be considered non-con or dubcon, but they’re explained by omegaverse. They really lean into the omega/alpha dynamic and it’s used as most of the reasoning behind the plot.

The books are pretty short, yet cover a lot of story due to summarizing a lot of the plot. I think each book has a line that goes somewhat like “Weeks pass and I’ve spilt more blood than I can count.” There is a lot of danger/violence but it’s mostly in the summarized parts. The plot that’s shown is focused on the couple and their relationship.

These books are spicy. Full of dirty talk, knotting, omega/alpha, “good girl”, forbidden attraction, omega heats, mating/breeding kink, rougher sex (throat grabbing, spanking, light choking, some have a little anal play). The males are alphaholes with full on “I’ll unalive anyone who harms you” energy. But they have the tender caring side just for their omegas to balance it.

This book specifically was three stars for me.

Highly recommend if you love omegaverse too.

I love this author's ability to get right to the point of the story, no hemming and hawing and no useless filler... just page turning stories.

Mia is the heroine of this story, and she has been mistreated all her life. To top it all off, when she turned eighteen her mother sold her to the Saviors. She is taken to Stephan's house, the head honcho. Why is he keeping her, though?

Stephan... you know there is more to this dude than meets the eye. Mia does too, but she is worried about Stockholm Syndrome, and she knows her real alpha mate is out there somewhere. She just needs to go to the hospital and get chipped. At this point, after she is taken to Stephan's she had no idea about her mother's betrayal.

Carlisle is masterful at writing morally gray characters and creating sexy situations. Mia, however, I really liked this character and her observation about her mother after she gains an adult perspective. I believe this has been my favorite story so far because of Mia. Sad to see the series come to an end, but excited to pick up more of this author's books

Ooooh, I DID so love this one!
Omegaverse is my recently discovered trope & man, Ms. Carlisle did NOT disappoint me with this one.
A dark, intense, dominating Alpha shrouded with secrets; a newly presented Omega who despite a life of abuse refuses to surrender without a fight yet has a loving heart; an enthralling plot that pulls the reader in & will not let them go; beautifully complex & multi-layered characters the reader cares about, is intrigued by & invested in.
Danger, suspense, tension, betrayal, lust & love, all perfectly balanced by the wonderfully excellent writing that keeps the reader in this Omegaverse world as well as on delicious tenterhooks from beginning to end. I cared about Stephan & Mia, was rooting for them to somehow find a HEA, together. I did not put this one down once I started reading it!
An absolutely superb dark Omegaverse romance I thoroughly enjoyed & loved.

My favorite book of the series!
The characters are amazing. The connection and pull between the Alpha,Stephan, and the Omega,Mia, is undeniable. Mia is such a strong and resilient Omega. She really just wants to finally be free of the torture that her life has been. So when she presents as an Omega, she is elated to meet her mate. But of course, nothing goes as planned and she ends up kidnapped by the Saviors.
Stephan is just drool worthy. Every scene with him in it he exudes Alpha, in every sense of the word. I love his interactions with Mia and his vaguely disguised interest and care for her.
The two are so intensely drawn to one another and I was loving how present Mia's Omega side was. The description of their more primal sides was exactly what I was looking for as a reader.
I can't believe this series has ended, and it definitely went out with a "bang", but I am so looki g forward to what this author has in store for us.

The couple: Stephan and Mia

Romance trope: omegaverse
Series: The Alpha Collectors
Length: 192 pages

Plot: Mia goes to the hospital when she presents as an omega but is soon kidnapped and given over to the head of the Saviors, a renegade criminal organization that traffics in omegas. The Savior, Stephan, normally doesn't keep omegas but he can't seem to let Mia go. She can't reconcile her desire for Stephan, knowing what sort of things he does to others. But what if things weren't what they seemed?

Commentary: Saw the twist coming. I've always wondered how undercover agents do that - commit horrible actions in order to bring the criminals down. All the people hurt in the meantime. Of course, we see Stephan trying to make things better for the omegas while waiting for the finale, but still, I can see why he wanted to resign when it was all done.
I did notice, however, how he kept referring to her as a brat. I didn't understand that - she was fighting against a kidnapper - I think it was not quite the same as a brat, and if he expected her to just accept it, then he's definitely not as smart as he thinks he is.

Previous book in the series: Forbidden

This is standard Liliana Carlisle fare and has the same tropes of hero who is supposedly a bad guy (but has a heart of gold) and a heroine who is taken against her will. She continues to misunderstand him until around the 80% mark, after which she falls for him and then realizes he is actually not a bad guy. Same trope in every book. Combine that with the standard Omegaverse fare of heat, rut, knot, and slick.. and there you have it. Nothing memorable about this story. I will give it 3 solid stars.

I love the plot twist aspect and the secrets, it had me constantly guessing what the MMC is hiding. I love seeing him struggle to fight his attraction and feelings towards her. It was so satisfying seeing his resolve crack, even when he ends up picking himself back up, & be cold to her, his resolves still grows weaker and weaker each day.

I believe this has the age gap trope, the FMC is 18 and the MMC must be more than 10 years her senior since he’s not only the leader of the savior but also the decision he made at the end.

Correct rating to me would be 2.5 stars.

I think this was my least favorite novella from the series. I'm in love with the captive/captor trope but I found this hero a little lacking compared to the previous ones in the other books. I can't put my finger on it (and my bad too since it's been a while I finished it) but I didn't really feel the connection between the main characters. Also he took too long warming up to her :(

Ending?!?!?

This was a perfect unending ending to a pretty good series.

Stephan played a character in an organization he is not at the core of himself. Mia knew somethin was off from the beginning but couldn't put the pieces together although she had all the puzzles pieces.

What I most enjoyed was how connected they were without technology telling them.

It is true..the heart knows long before the head does..so ethi g to think about.

I ATE this up! It was so good. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it at first based off of the premise and the tropes but I really enjoyed it. This one was significantly darker than the rest of the series, there were definitely moments where my heart was aching. The pain was all worth it for the ending. I really enjoyed this series and I will be binging all of the other books Liliana has written that I haven’t read yet.

Mia had been through a lot already and becoming an Omega she thought things would settle only for her to be kidnapped by the Savoirs and she finds herself drawn to their Alpha Stephan. Well written steamy paranormal read, with suspense, desires, twists, hot scenes and more!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved this series

This was a series I wanted to keep going on and on. Stephen had so much depth to his character and secrets he had to keep. Mia was a fighter determined to have her matched alpha, her back story was so sad. This story had the lot from angst, pain and hardship to a happy ending, highly recommend.

Great Story

Stephan and Mia was a remarkable read! Lots of twists and turns and erotic moments. Mia wasn’t a cowering princess but a girl who was desperate to be strong and resilient despite all her pitfalls. I love the role Stephan played evil villain/ hero. Story was well written and it was a great way to end the series.
