He’s back and wants her son. Needs her son and will stop at nothing to get him.
It had always been just Keira and her little boy, Daniel. There was no choice; the father deserted them, and her parents disowned her for being pregnant and unmarried.
Now the sperm donor is back, and he wants their son. Needs their son, he says, and won’t go away without him.
Read MINE, book 6 in the series When Bad Things Happen.

An amazing story as always. Kiera has raised her autistic son all alone. All of a sudden his father shows up. How will she handle this. This book truly shows how people manage in their lives, even when it’s difficult.
Mine is a wonderful book about the love of family and the ties that connect us, but as in all of Sharon’s books there is a twist. Kiera has raised Daniel, her autistic son alone and is dating Jake. She’s happy with life the way it is until Mason, Daniel’s father shows up in their lives wanting custody. How will she handle this situation? What really defines a family? I loved this book and recommend it.
I should have copied the Amazon review I just wrote, lol... Keira and Daniel face their greatest challenges yet. Daniel's biological father has reentered their lives. What will happen next? Fantastic addition to the series.
Keira has been raising her autistic son all by herself for the past 8 years, since his birth. When the biological father didn't want to be a dad, she moved on and made a good life for her and her son. Now after all these years he suddenly wants full custody. But why now? This was a well-written story with a twist you won't see coming. The author did a fantastic job of conveying the emotions and feelings of both Keira as a mom and Daniel who has autism. As a mother with an autistic child I could really relate to Keira. Really enjoyed this book! This was my first book of the series, and I'd really love to go back and read the others. I was given a complimentary copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This is a story about Kiera’s background and her son Daniel. Interesting how she has developed stories on all the characters she put into “Gone”. It also shows you how to appreciate understanding autism. She doesn’t do the policeman Jake any favors saying he didn’t recognize Keira’s Mother, come on now, he’s a cop! All in all it was another great read by Mitchell. 5
The story is good, compelling even. But there needs to be a new editor or proof. Each book in the continued series has had some misspelled or wrong contextual words. This was by far the worst for errors. It takes away from the story.
