Inishean Lighthouse stands as a beacon to seafarers on the western edge of Ireland. This tale will cross the centuries as two men take their place as the keepers of the light.
In the mid-nineteenth century, Ciarán McCrohan moves to the small, remote island of Inishean to take over the position of lighthouse keeper. But there is one catch. He needs a wife. On the edge of Europe, shielded from the potato blight and ensuing famine that rages in Ireland, two young people find refuge both in their small community and in each other.
Almost two centuries later, Josh O’Brien’s happy life in Ireland is threatened, despite the efforts of his new family. But there is someone who will stand above the others to secure his future. When his first assignment as a lighthouse technician takes him to an isolated island in County Kerry, a haunting history is revealed. Something happened on this rocky spit of land. In order to set the island free, he must dive into the past and allow the lighthouse to tell its tale.

Good story but why so many play by play explicit sex scenes?!?
I love this series of books and eagerly await each one. My daughter and her teenage daughters do as well but she won't let them read this one due to the too numerous sexually explicit scenes. I think it takes too much away from the story. Guess I'm just prudish that way lol.
Since the first book featuring Branna and Michael O'brien I've been totally hooked. You have to now start with the grandchildren...O'Brien tales for the next 5-7 years please
I read and re-read this incredible series of the O'Brien's!! I waited for this one and will wait for the next! You rock! Stacy !!! You bring this shattered planet back to life! I'm so grateful for your work Diane
Assuming this is the last O’Brien book, what a way to cap it off. These stories just pull you in that you feel everything these characters do. Such a good find and I would recommend it to anyone
I have loved all of the O’Brien tales but this one has been special. Heartbreaking for all that Josh had to endure to watch the beautiful person that he becomes was so amazing. Madeleine was just what Josh needed in his mate. Stacey has this way of always hooking you into the story and just doesn’t let go until the end. Of course we all stay here waiting anxiously for her next story!
Stacey Reynolds delivers another stunning O’Brien story, this time with a twist! Blending past and present in a way that will leave you riveted and unable to put this book down.
Josh and Maddie have been one of the slow burn couples of this series we’ve been waiting for. We’ll wait no longer, dear readers! They. Have. Arrived! Travel with them to Inishean Island to man a Lighthouse and travel back in time via a journal found, and meeting a couple from the past. You’ll read that true love can transcend time, and I have a feeling this story, along with the O’Brien Tales will do the same.
Stacey Reynolds will play at your heartstrings like a master guitarist plucks the strings. Laugh, cry, and be lost in the pages as the character come alive.
5 stars because that’s all I’m allowed to give. Highly recommend! And if you haven’t read the others, please go back, because to really understand Josh, Shadow Guardian is a MUST!
Though I lived the first two very much in this series, this book warmed my heart the most. Perhaps I can identify with Madeline and Josh with their love of simplicity and the joy they found in the history of the island. Healing from abuse isn't easy and the parallel lives and almost reincarnation of the past into the present had me healing along with them all. I only wish I knew why all the families left the island after the tale and why the families from the journals, who all had children, left their belongings and lives. Perhaps a tale for another day?
All her books are "stay up all night because you can't put it down" books. Wonderful, bright, quite explicit loving that would be grand novels for the Bromance series to read, because no matter how wild, they are rare expressions of the best that can be between lovers. This tale is beautiful and rich with history, hard and real. Which, of course, comes with its tragedy and its joy. Triggers abound, but living through them is life itself.
I was so enthralled throughout the whole book. I hadn't expected a flash back story. It was perfectly weaved into present day. It made tears fall at times. Joy followed. The story hearts wrenching but ended with hearts overflowing. Stacey Reynolds pulled me in with her first book and keeps me hooked with every new book.
Stacey Reynolds has once again captured my attention and my heart! Richly written characters, plots that twist and turn, and of course, hot burning desire between mates! The Keeper has it all! Cannot wait for the next book!
The Keeper was fantastic! I loved the way that you interwoven the lives of the Ryan's of now and their distant relatives. Thank you so much for another wonderful O'Brien Tale. Can't wait until the next!!
I loved this story so much, but so many twists and turns!Flashbacks to a past life on the island, then flash forwards to present day.The O'Brien legacy continues to entertain!May their stories never end!!
Another excellent story in this series. The dual timeline was well done. Parts of this story are very heart-wrenching and there are definitely enough crazy, obsessed characters to go around. The novella included with the audio book was an extra bonus.
I have loved the series, each book better than the last. The details take me to Ireland, and the O,Briens are like family. I laughed. I cried. Please let there be a #8.
More of the O’Brien family. Josh the brother of Charlie brought into the family by marriage finally gets his mate. Some supernatural things happening at his lighthouse so parrelell story happening i1845 Josh one bad mistake Justine also hunting him with his immigration status in jeapordy
Thoroughly enjoyed this story-as I’ve enjoyed all the preceding ones! Keep them coming! Don’t miss this one about Josh and Madeline’s struggle to find each other.
I’ve read this series multiple times. Every time there is a new addition, I start with the first book and read the series to include the new book. So well written and each re-read I pick up something new about this amazing group of characters.
I am crazy in love with every character from this series, and this one is no different. Knowing all the things Josh has gone through and how much he deserves this book and the scary but beautiful ending. Always enjoy how the turn 2 stories into one stunning and complete ending.
This book is interesting as it combines 2 stories about lighthouse keepers -one in present day and the other in 1846. Similar but different. The modern-day story is predominately about Josh O’Brien, the brother of Tighe O’Brien’s wife.
I love all Stacey Reynolds books! Each one has lovable characters and compelling stories. I’m sad I’m almost done with all her books. I will just have to start the series again. ❤️5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
