Armed with a killer smile, wicked slickness, commendable acumen, and Southern charm, he manages to mix and mingle with the best of them. A veritable heartthrob, he also manages to elude the wide arm of law enforcement time and again. Jude’s mission is simple: Be smarter than the rest. Faster than the best. Know the enemy. Accumulate wealth. Take out anyone in the way without hesitation. This motto has served him well.
But there’s one problem…
A change is going to come… The Judge is ready for a revolution, but with all changes, comes risk. There is one person he will protect at all costs, and if any of his enemies get their way, it could open the gates of Hell. Jude has to pick his poison and make a decision. The wrong move could bring dire consequences.

Here is a tale of truth or dare, love or hate, and survival of the fittest. What is a man to do when the stakes are higher than his clientele?
Tiana Laveen was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved away, and now lives inside of her mind, but her heart is occupied with her husband, two children, and twisted imagination. She enjoys a fulfilling and enriching life that includes writing books, public speaking, drawing, painting, listening to music, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.
Tiana Laveen is a uniquely creative and innovative author whose romance fiction is geared towards those who not only want to temporarily escape from the daily routines of life, but also became pleasantly caught up in the twisted, well developed journeys of her unique characters. Tiana creates a painting with words as she guides her reader into the lives of each and every main character. Her dedication to detail and staying true to her characters is evident in each novel that she writes.
Tiana wrote a provocative and well thought out and executed story about life. Life from people who all had problems and obstacles and how they managed and maneuvered through them.
Jude “Judge” Cooper knew that he wanted Iris Ashford the day he saw her in the courthouse fighting for her niece. He took his time to woo her when he later discovered where she worked. She had her guards up for many reasons, but Jude would not be deterred. He wanted Iris to look after his brother Eli as well as for himself. Jude was impressed with the tenacity at which Iris fought for Ayanna’s well-being. He and his brother’s lives had been a jumbled mess since their parents were killed when they were young. They missed their loving parents, no matter if they were bank robbers. All they ever wanted was to be truly loved and a family. They were forced to live life the best way they could even though it was illegal. But they did that job with finesse and they were at the top of their business.
Iris sacrificed her life and job/ business potential so her niece would no longer suffer at the hands of her sister’s undiagnosed mental illness. All she wanted was for Ayanna to have peace, love, and stability in her life. Jude too, took care of what was left of his family and made sure they were taken care of too.
I loved how Jude took his time to court Iris, but he let her know what his intentions were with his nasty mouth. He was a down-to-earth man that pulled no punches and took no bull from anyone, especially if you came after his family. Jude knew that if he wanted Iris to be totally his for a lifetime, he would have to give up his illegal activities and focus on his legal ones. He was getting to an age where he was tired and wanted more in life. He made that transition because Iris was worth the effort to him.
I fell out laughing at Eli’s declaration at the wedding and cried at Jude’s wedding letter to Iris. It was so touching. Even Iris’ sister was able to get help and Cain has hope for the future too.
This was an excellent and deep thought-provoking read. The way Tiana worded this story was right on point. If I could have given it ten stars I would. My only complaint is that I wish she would have created a Spotify.com playlist link for her readers.
Definitely not one of her best. It was way too long, and too preachy for me e.g Jude’s letter to Iris was 4 pages long!!! I had to just skip through all the preachy bits to get through the storyline. Some funny bits in it though but overall not a book I would personally recommend
Here Comes the Judge is an amazing story. This hit every emotion for me. Touched on serious, emotional and painful issues. The characters Jude, Iris, Cain, Eli, Lily, Ayanna and Aunt Blue had me wondering , what was coming next. This book was unputdownable!! It was sad, funny, sexy, fire hot and it stayed with me long after I finished reading it. Thank you Tiana Laveen❤❤❤👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This was a interesting & fascinating read. Jude is in these streets hard. He has a past as we all do that helped shaped who he is. Iris is a woman who life has knocked down a time or two. She's raising a teenage niece, working a job that isn't going anywhere. Iris has dreams of owning her own business. When Iris & Jude aka Judge finally give into the curiosity of each other a love story begins. I wasn't really ready for Jude's hustle but the topic & honesty of it opened a closed door in my mind. So many topics are covered in a true way. This has a HEA but you will be changed by the time it happens. Also lots of steamy lovemaking so be ready. 😎🤩😁 Looking forward to more from this author.
2 1/2 Stars - Jude and Iris are very likable characters and their story and the people in their lives are interesting and compelling. The problem is that Ms Laveen is so damn preachy while imparting valuable information about mental illness and childhood trauma. The preachiness was such that it through off the pacing of the narrative and drug the love story we came for down. I'm all about imparting wisdom just not at the expense of the narrative.
This was another good book by this author. I have read most of the books by TL. I have loved them all. And have reread most of them, several times over. This book was good from the first page to the last, and as with all of her books, there is an actual life lesson to learn. Anywho, I hope Cain gets his story. There is a story there that needs to be told. He needs something good to happen to him. I hope Lily gets a story as well. She needs a HEA as well. Now, I will patiently wait for the next book by this author to drop and reread something else of hers as I wait.
This book was chalked full of everything that makes a TL book and I loved the southern characters. Being from the South myself , it felt good to read all of the southern sayings and know that people actually what a " pop" is. Jude and Iris' love story was about two people healing, love of family, and surviving, regardless of what life throws at you. It was about love without limits and acceptance of others how they are. It was about never giving up and growth. This was a great read and Eli was just awesome. I hope when Cain gets his story and Lily gets hers, we get more of Eli and Aunt Blue. Now, if you want to know who they are. Well, you gotta read this book. ☺
This was a good book. I loved Jude and Iris! I also loved Eli. The author did a good job showing how head injuries and mental illness does not have to define the person. I also loved Jude’s bond with both brothers.
As usual and Laveen’s book was multi layered. I enjoyed the fact that both Iris and Jude were ordinary people who were “flawed perfection”. They both had a lot of past and present hardships but they were survivors. The book touched a lot on abject poverty driving people down some dark paths as well a generational curses and mental illness. If I had anything missing from the book would be more interaction between Ayanna and Jude as he was now her father figure when she never had one before. I know that Cain didn’t have a relationship with Eli, however I would have like to see some interaction between Eli and Pete. He has plenty of wisdom to pass on. ,I am not sure how realistic it is for Jude to just “retire” whilst staying in the same place, nor how it makes sense for him to be gifting Rolls Royce cars or money left and right. I’d imagine he is still on some law enforcement’s radar. Lastly call me a romantic but I would have like the epilogue to be after Cain got out or at least was retried. Maybe it will be Ms Laveen’s next book? Anyway, all in all I enjoyed the pace and the matices of this book.
I was so excited to read Ms. Laveen's new book. She is a talented writer . She did not disappoint. Judge draws you in, provides food for thought, makes you think outside the box and has you analyzing your own actions and views with respect to yourself and others. The story engenders compassion. I was sorry when the story ended, but I am sure I will read it again soon. A very good read.
Tiana Laveen is a writer that I purchase whenever I get the notice that she has another story out. I have a few that I haven't read yet but bought for the day to sit back and enjoy and be amazed. Where does she come up with these insightful stories?
This story about Jude and Iris gets you from the start. And it had me laughing out loud. Sometimes I went back and read over and laughed again. The last time Jude visited his brother Cain was nice but funny as all get out too. Eli is a trip and a half. Maybe Cain will get a story with Lily.....hint, hint.
Now that the holidays are here I'm going to read her other stories that I have and I can't wait to be blown away!!!!
Oh my! This was so good! I loved Jude and Iris loved one another “so hard”! Only Ms. Laveen can take the most unsavory character and redeem him and make the reader fall in love with him! She can weave a story like no other! Her words are magic to her audience!
A beautiful inspiring story about learning to walk in another’s shoes, wear their clothes, and breathe the same air before passing judgment on their life or character. We are more than one action or one argument. Let’s not be quick to convict and write people off.
Jude did not go to college but he got a PhD on the streets. He has educated himself and remained open minded and compassionate. Iris may be poor but she was rich with kindness. These two beautiful souls found real love and happiness with each other. Wonderful story. Definitely recommend.
A Very Good and Sensual Interracial Romantic Thriller
Here Comes the Judge is a very good and sensual interracial romantic thriller that earned a rating of four stars. I enjoyed reading Jude and Iris love story. They were very different people . He was drug king pen , manufacturing and selling meth while Iris was a taking care of her niece working in a store.. They met in the store and he went after her . The had a lot of obstacles to overcome to find their happy ever after. I found the book exciting and humorous and I would recommend it to everyone who enjoys reading very good romantic thrillers.
A man wants in a Kroger store and a love story begins Jude\Judge sees Iris earlier in a court room but she had no clue then begins a job offer that turns out to be a changing life for them both they both had trauma in their childhood that they over came the supporting characters were so well written and parts was sad but the humor was so great I loved the storyline but when I tell you Eli was my favorite believe it Tiana this book had me all up in my feelings and emotions man you did your thing bravo to Another One
Tiana Laveen has composed a modern day manifesto for damaged and broken souls. This emotionally driven story with intense characters and conflicts captures your imagination. As she peels back the personal layers of Jude, Iris, Eli and Cain, deep seated trauma is exposed evoking a plethora of emotions. Ms Laveen is a master character builder. I have read just about all of her books and can say unequivocally she is one of my favourite authors in this genre. Absolutely loved Eli and hope to see more of his story in the future. A worthy read.
There is only one man to lay down the law in the mean streets of Tennessee and he goes by the name of “Judge”.
Judge is a man with many layers that keeps his circle small but once he lets you in, he loves hard and protects you even harder. Iris is a woman that many can relate to she has been hurt before and is not looking to be hurt again so she is not looking for a relationship. Iris has no idea that she has already been sentenced to life by the law himself.
Jude and Iris’s story is entertaining, and steamy. Jude was straight Alpha. I love me an Alpha male. This was a well written story with characters that you cannot help but fall for. All the characters are relatable and I happily recommend this book. The story will keep you engaged and ready to see what is going to happen next. It made me want a part two. Take a chance, you won’t regret it.
As usual, Ms. Laveen did not disappoint in this book! I laughed and cried, and felt good reading this from beginning to end! Both Jude and Iris had their share of family problems, but they endured til the end! They found true love not only with each other but with family! I loved the ending where there was hope for Cain and for Lily! I wish Ms. Laveen would write a book with these two and their happy ending! Ms. Laveen, just a thought!
This is an author that I have now started to wait for the next story. There are only a few and Ms. Laveen is one of those. Of course I have my favorites, however this is about this one. The relationship development between Jude and Iris was nice and the slow burn to everyone's backstory was well developed. Again I have my favorites and this might be yours. Waiting patiently for the next one.
So once again a woman like me makes a difference in the world. Jude saw the woman who God created that would change his life. Every book you write tells the story about a woman who is a difference maker in a man's life. We make this happen in real life and it's not just a fairy tale. I see me and hundreds of others in your stories. Thank you.
I absolutely loved Here Comes the Judge ! A great love story with redemption and sibling loyalty. I could not put it down and had to read it in one sitting. I have long been a fan of Tiana Laveen...she knows how to spin words and plot, with characters you cannot help but fall in love with for their sheer humanity. I really hope she decides to write a part two with Cain's story.
I'm in love with Jude Cooper and Iris's story. Tiana you did the DAM THANG MA'AM!!!! I got all the emotions in this book. The action, the real life issues that was discussed, had me in tears and ready to whoop some body's a$$! The way Eli taught Jude and Iris how to love without him having to say a word choked me up!!!! Eli is the truth and I love this fella! Great job Tiana and thank you for this gift of words!!!!! You showed up and showed out with this one!
This book was so good! I enjoyed the story from beginning to end. There was sadness, forgiveness, laughter, and just overall exciting. I loved for the Judge to bring down the gavel! Iris was so strong and wanted to do what was right. They never thought they would find love in a Kroger store late at night. Oh and Eli was a beautiful! This is a must read! Thank you Ms. Tiana
Wow ,I'm speechless. Ghana I've read several of your books and it keeps getting better my friend. Well written. I loved how Jude was straight up with Iris and she was able to truly understand life lessons with him in her life. Never judge unless you are ready to be judged.
I h.ave it five stars because it was about people that were not perfect. Real people who were flawed but realized that about themselves. I also liked that they loved and had the ability to love others. It was a wonderful book about 2 family .ordinary people who found one another and made it work
There is no part of this story that any reader cannot relate to in some way, their are moments where I had to stop reading because of what is written. These word were thing that we have thought of it we have never look at life and people that way. Aunt Blue word spoke to me, Jude way of looking at life make you think. Great story from a great writer
This book was so good. Court is in session! Jude is complicated but you love him so much for his work ethic and commitment to family. I love the self reflection of Iris. She was continually growing. This book was so full of life lessons. Just good all around.
A very good read, I was totally engrossed. Very good storytelling, with quite a few difficult subject areas handled with great sensitivity. I loved it, I'd go so far as to say educational in parts. Definitely a window on certain aspects of life for some. Will definitely be reading more of this author's books.
