Advanced Strategies for Today's Transformational Leaders

To truly transform an organization, say the authors of this groundbreaking book, leaders must first transform their own mindset. Beyond Change Management-the only book specifically about the interaction of leadership style, mindset, and the change process-revolutionizes leaders' approach to transformational change. Shattering the myth that transformation can be managed, this book — part of the Practicing OD Series — offers you new directions and ways of thinking and behaving that are essential for successful change. Its unique approach brings organization development (OD) into the mainstream of leaders' approaches to change, expanding and integrating the fields of OD, leadership, change management, and consciousness. You'll also get ready-to-use worksheets, questionnaires, guidelines, and assessment instruments. "Powerful business solutions to the current chaos facing many organizations today. As far as textbooks go, this one is pretty good. I didn't always enjoy the writing, but it is clear that the authors wish to share what they've learned from their years of change leadership consulting. The roadmap, particularly as a fullstream process, is very complex. The addition of the concept of conscious change leadership elevates the process by combining personal accountability for the leader with the carefully plotted steps of the very thorough fullstream process. If you're stuck, give this a read. It'll probably help kick something loose.

This is an awesome book that takes Integral thinking and applies it to business, specifically transformational change. It's not a book of theory, which is exciting, it's a book of practical action. I especially like the "Case in Point" sidebars which detail some of the specific applications Being First has done with this methodology and companies—public and private. If you're interested in business transformation, this is a must read, and if you're interested in how you can talk about Integral to people who have no clue, it's a really good primer.
