Lucas is a Kodiak Bear shifter, and the last member of Riley’s Pride left without a mate. He spent the majority of his life thinking he didn’t want one. But then he watched all his family and friends finding and claiming theirs, starting families and basking in the love and peace having a mate can provide. He thought for a while that he might be able to claim Libby, but she ultimately belonged to another. When she was claimed, he went back to being alone — and he didn’t like it. Luckily for him, his true mate had already found him. Now if she’d just make herself known instead of stalking him, he could make her his and they could start their lives together.
Anahla is Djinn by birth, Efreet to be exact, complete with flames flowing through her blood — oh, and Dragon, too. But since the Efreet and Dragons intentionally avoid one another, she’s basically an anomaly. Neither side wants her, but neither side is brave enough to extinguish her, either. Fleeing from her Djinn family, she happens to stumble across her deepest desire - her mate. A mate means belonging, home, safety, and most of all acceptance. Though instead of making herself known, she remains in the background, keeping to the shadows as she watches him, stalking him. Of course she wants him, he’s her mate. But the fact that she believes he already has kids and a female is enough to make her rethink her position. Besides, with the personal struggle and secrets she carries, he’d likely reject her anyway.
Lucas and Anahla have both been longing for their mate. They crave the bond that finding their mate will bring. They want a home, family, love, and acceptance. Unfortunately, circumstances lead each to believe it’s just not possible. But fate has other ideas in mind; a threat to the Pride forces Anahla and who she truly is out into the open. The situation leaves no room for thought, without her, someone could die. Now that she’s revealed her true self, will she be accepted, or will she and Lucas both have to resign themselves to a lifetime of loneliness?
I write Paranormal, SciFi and Fantasy Romance. Why, you may ask? Romance, because who doesn’t love a good romance, and the lack of reality in the story lines - because, well, normal is highly overrated. I’m 55, I have two kids, one 32 and one 12 (yes, God does have a sense of humor), one grandchild, one husband, and a menagerie of animals. Literally, too damn many things that eat wandering around our property. I love to cook, and I am a voracious reader, though since I started writing I don’t get as much time to read as I once did. I am a homebody and prefer my writing/reading time to a crowd. I have had stories and fictional characters wandering around in my head for as long as I can remember. I started letting them out into the real world and surprisingly, people have loved them. I am a Self-Published Author, and I like it that way because I can decide what and when to write. I am by no means a formal, polished, properly structured individual and neither are my stories. But people seem to love the easy emotion and passion that naturally flow from them. A bit of a warning though, there are some “triggers” in them that certain people should avoid. I’m a firm believer that you cannot have light without the dark. You cannot fully embrace the joy and elation that my people eventually find if you do not bear witness to their darkest hours as well. So please be sure to read the warnings supplied with each of the synopses about my books before you buy them. I've got three series published at this time, Avaleigh's Boys - PNR, Whispers From the Bayou - Fantasy PNR, Haven - a SciFi, and three more in process. I’m a bit sarcastic, scathing actually, and a smartass to boot, so if I offend you, it is most likely not intentional. But be prepared because it probably won’t be the last time. I’m always glad to hear from readers; those who have followed me from the beginning, and those who have just found my people. So feel free to look me up and say hello, or just follow along; either way, I’m glad to have you.
I've read a lot of her books, and I think that this is the end of my time following this author. I used to be able to ignore her little writing quirks, but as I read this book, I found myself more and more annoyed by them. So yeah, this is the end.
An author that used "ya'll" EIGHTY EIGHT times in one book, is just not for me anymore. The incredible amount of absolutely useless information, of redundant repetition is also a big turn off. Does knowing where the are french doors will go, along with a hundred other details, help move the plot along at all? Absolutely not, it could not even be considered world building. Does having a character call another and then proceed to tell her everything we just read useful? Nope, not even a little bit, it simply screams word count/filler. But there they are !
In the end, I skimmed through the majority of the book, I just could not handle anymore of it.
This is the final book in the Riley's Pride series. I'm a bit bummed to see it come to an end, but there's always rereads! I highly recommend you read the previous books in the series to get the most out of Lucas's Prey. Lucas finally finds his mate, but she's quite elusive. I won't divulge what she is or why she's hiding, but you will love Anahla! She really shines in this story. Riley's Pride just draws her in from the beginning. Riley is a bit stand-offish, but as alpha that's to be expected due to Anahla's unknown background. This book is truly a group effort. We also get to visit with Delilah and Kaid! Yay! Lucas works hard to claim and love his mate, but it's all worth it in the end. Anahla really saves the day (literally) and earns her place in this family. Reading one of Sandra's books is always like coming home. Especially, when reading her shifter series. You'll fall in love with Riley's Pride. 4 stars!!
I have adored these characters since the first book. This book leaves me conflicted. I enjoyed this book so much, but it makes me sad to have the series come to a close. It's great to have visits from characters from the Avaleigh's Boys series (always a favorite). The story for Lucas has been curious every since he first sensed his mate a couple of books back. This books shows a great sense of family, even though for the most part this family doesn't share DNA. The character of Anahla is super unique and I have enjoyed sharing in her development in this story. The book is well written. The journey was unexpected. The baddies were not who I expected. I'd recommend this book!
Lucas has a mate! Unfortunately, a mate who has been taught that she isn't a good soul. Her fears cause a lot of heartache for Lucas but his Pride is there to help him out.
A Pride is no stronger than their weakest link. Riley's Pride is not your normal Pride. Their weakest link is fireproof!
Lucas's Prey is the latest in the Riley's Pride series. Which is series that stars many of our beloved characters from the way back, from I'm Not A Dragon's Mate, the first book in the Avaleigh's Boys series. I highly recommend that you start there if you already haven't. This way you get the full impact of the connection between each character.
Can't believe this is the last book to Riley's Pride and it was phenomenal loved reading Lucas's and Anahal's book to how they met, how they fell in love became mates. She tells Lucas about her past what she is and he accepts her for who she is the Pride mets her Riley is skeptic of course looking out for his Pride mates because he knows she's different there's some drama, a lot of love, happiness, family, laughter the Pride is growing Libby and Travis have there daughter. A lot happens Anahla saves Talie's life Roman is hilarious Riley accepts her into the Pride where she belongs finally has the love and family she always wanted! Ending was bittersweet loved it very much a great way too end this lovely book to Riley's Pride!
This is the last full length book in Riley's Pride series. It's hard to say goodbye to friends you've made over the years but Sandra did it in a way that made it more than ok. I still cried and felt all the feels throughout the book, which is another thing she's great at. Lucas and Anahala are an interesting couple who have to overcome misunderstandings and differences but love does prevail and trust is earned. This story warmed my heart and when I finished this book I had to start the series all over again. One I will re-read time and again. Highly recommend!!!
What an exciting story! Lucas’s elusive mate, Anahla, finally takes a chance, but she still leads him on a merry chase! Lifelong issues of trust are not easy to overcome. I love the patience Lucas displays with her. It’s exactly the touch needed. I adore the way the author touches on familiar faces, letting us see what is happening in the lives of these friends. Nothing is simple, though. There is trouble from the past brewing. I can’t wait for you to see how this pans out, it’s simply amazing! All in all, this is one of Ms. Neeley’s finest!
Absolutely loved this series. I love the way each book includes characters from the whole Pride. Sandra makes each character stand out and I couldn't wait to read Lucas' story and wow, I was not disappointed. Although this is the last, I can't wait to read the little spin offs from this, with more weddings, babies and celebrations I am sure will be included. Anyone who hasn't read Rileys Pride, should really start with Avaleighs Boys first as both series link with one another. I am sure you won't be disappointed.
I'm so in love with this series and all the characters in it. Seeing how Riley stands strong building his pride is so amazing. Deliah is my favorite! This book is so good and so happy Lucas finally got his mate. I hope there are more books to come involving the pride and clan. Everything Sandra neeley writes is gold! She makes you laugh and cry and always has multiple views so you get a little bit of knowledge about each person. So good and highly recommend
Riley's pride the ending book is Lukus story he has a mate but for some reason she won't come to him or show herself to him. Even after delihla goes to talk to her. I highly recommend this series well in actuality the authors work as a whole is mind blowing. Every time just sucks you into the world with such characters that you can picture like them or not if I could I'd give it ten stars. So sorry it is ending.
Lucas & Nalha> he waited his whole life for a mate thinking he wouldn't get one then one day he since her, but couldn't find her and he didn't understand why? She's been alone for along time afraid to let anyone close to her then to just tell her to go, but when she found her mate she couldn't leave him so she decided to watch from afar. The characters will take you on twist and turns through out their end/beginning of their journey to the end of the book.
This is a awesome series enjoyed every story, being a lover of shifter stories and have read a plenty this one did not disappoint. The plot that continued with each story held you captive from beginning to end, characters so well written they came alive and most of all the love that was the bond that made them family was a beautiful thing. So again this is a awesome series and I truly do hope this is not the end, Well Done Author, Well Done !!!
I loved each of the stories featured in Riley's Prid
e. I hated to see it end. As with the other Sandra R. Neeley's shifters stories. Thank you for writing this world that helped me when I was in pain by taking me to another fantastic world. I hope you do a couple stories like a Christmas o?ne that will catch us up on what is going on in there world.
While I was sad that the series is finished the book did not disappoint at all. It was a great story telling of Lucas getting his mate and the rest of Riley’s pride getting their happy ending. The main thread was on how family is not always blood but what who you make it. It was worth the wait and truly was a perfect ending.
I truly got caught up so bad it took me by surprise, it’s the end of this amazing, well thought out, so full of the women’s sass , loyalty and love.⭐️⭐️🔥 The boys and their antics with the children had me in an uproar of laughter. I really hate to see them go. Hopefully there will be a story about Shelley &Trey,Scott &Candy.
I love this series!! I also loved the first one connected to this one. They are fabulous! I look forward to reading more from this author. I hope there is another series similar to this one soon. Thank you for sharing your stories with us!
It was awesome that Lucas and Nahle finally got together .. I smiled and cried the whole time I was reading .. I am going to miss the Pride and am glad everyone is now mated
I have come to love these characters and hate to see them go. I was happy when Lucas and Anahlia finally got together. The action scene at the end was so good. Anahlia’s abilities were amazing. I loved the cameo of Delilah, Kade and Daniel. Great series!
Lucas and Nahla's story is beautifully written. Each story encompasses the importance of the individual but also the value of the pride. It's this inclusive style that draws me to Sandra Neeley's novels. Looking forward to where ever your muse leads next.
Riley’s pride from the start of book1 until this last one have all been so involved with each person. Their lives, trials and personal doubts kept me entrenched with each book. I’m really sorry that was the last one, but so thankful for such great writing.
As always with this series, enjoyed this book very much. The Pride became so much more than I imagined it would. Can't hardly wait until the kids of both series grow up for hopefully another series. 💖
I fell in love with this author 12 books ago and she never fails to grab your attention and keep it through out each page of every chapter in every book. The characters take hold of your heart and make you want to step into the book
Loved this whole series. The best I've read in awhile. Was finely so happy for Lucas and Anahal. Well worth the wait for it. Will read it and the others over again. Thank you Sandra Neeley.
Finally Lucas gets his happily ever after, and alot of loose ends tied up. Hopefully this author has a second generation series lined up, because I want to know about the prides children.
This is my second time to read this series. Just a great, fun read! Suspenseful and not cras. Well written. Love the characters! Highly recommend. Avaleighs Boys is where it all began. Start there!
Loved allot these books it was fun to get to know them all and can't wait for more. I got the first book and it was so good just kept reading have finished all of them!!!!!!
Fantastic read with all the previous phenomenal characters of Riley's Pride with Lucas and Anahla battling past emotional scars/trauma, finding their strength and love. Can't wait for updates on this Pride.
