Nagi gets outed. Hiro gets mad. Erika gets room service. Ai gets possessive. Sachi goes home. Just another day at the office for these dopes, except for yet another kidnapping, which appears to be the series’ most consistent plot point.
Ah, well, this volume explains why I can’t stand Ai so much - she’s a yandere. This revelation comes as Nagi has been outed to the world as her girlfriend - two guesses as to who put that notion out in the ether. I admit that the revelation of this when Nagi visits her room is probably the biggest laugh this volume.
The other good joke is from Hiro being very, very obviously pissed about this and bottling it up as much as possible, which gets expressed in some fairly violent ways. There you go, you’ve saved yourself some money.
Nothing else is worth noting. It’s very traditional harem manga with mostly boring characters and no bite. The main plot point comes when Erika’s mom abducts Nagi and Erika and stuffs them in a hotel for two weeks. And spies on them. And tries to get them to have sex. Like all parents.
Splayed this and mashed that and tripped over this and falling into the other thing happen. This is just lacking anything interesting to hold my attention and, honestly, now that I have two other ongoing harem series that remind me that, no, this genre can do something besides adhere slavishly to its tenets, this story’s hold on my time and attention is very weak indeed.
If I wasn’t being so cruel, I’d say that the hotel scenario does have some fitfully amusing sections - Nagi gets one wish and it’s absolutely on brand. It just feels so stodgy and underwritten, like a harem series about ten years out of date.
2.5 stars - for the millionth time I’m wondering why I’m bothering to read this, but this might be the point where I just give up and spare myself the ongoing agony. One good character can’t offset a bunch of dullards, no matter how much of a Hiro she is.

Questo decimo volume di "A couple of cuckoos" mi ha lasciato sensazioni contrastanti. Da una parte ci sono momenti davvero ben riusciti, in particolare le scene in hotel tra Nagi ed Erika, che sono intime e divertenti. Dall'altra parte, però, si inizia a sentire parecchio che la storia sta tirando per le lunghe. Insomma, volume piacevole, con qualche scena ottima.
Il mio voto è il seguente: 3,5 stelline su 5.

Après ma lecture du neuvième tome, j’ai profité d’avoir ce tome ci sous la main pour continuer ma lecture. Puis bon, la façon dont se termine le tome précédent m’a encore plus donné envie de découvrir ce qu’il peut bien se passer dans celui ci! Je n’ai pas été de cette lecture, je crois bien même que c’est un des tomes que j’ai préféré lire jusqu’ici. Déjà que d’habitude je rigole beaucoup avec ce manga, là c’était encore pire! Enfin mieux pour le coup. Vraiment un excellent tome encore une fois!
Dans ce dixième tome, n peut dire qu’Aï a mis un sacré bazar dans la vie de Nagi ! Les médias se régalent de leur relation, le pauvre ne sait plus où se mettre… Heureusement, la mère d’Erika prend les choses en main et l’enferme pour quinze jours dans une chambre d’hôtel, le temps que le scandale retombe. Sauf qu’elle a la bonne idée de le cloîtrer avec Erika. Les fiancés vont donc passer deux semaines en tête-à-tête ! Et Hiro dans tout ça ? Je ne sais pas ce que Nagi lui a dit mais elle est dans tous ses états !
Ahlala qu’est ce que j’ai pu rire pendant ma lecture! La mère d’Erika c’est vraiment une malade, elle m’a tué de rire. Elle décide d’enfermer Erika et Nagi pendant deux semaines dans une chambre d’hôtel parce qu’elle ne trouve pas ça normal qu’ils n’ont pas encore couchés ensemble. Qui fait ça franchement? En plus, elle prend un malin plaisir à les observer, limite à les torturer. Vraiment elle m’a fait mourir de rire, c’est une grande malade sérieux! Clairement on voit bien de qui elle tiens Erika, même si c’est la mère biologique de Nagi. Je ne pensais pas du tout que sa mère réagirait de cette façon, c’est tellement inattendu de la part d’une mère que ça nous prend totalement par surprise. Mais je trouve ça vraiment excellent c’est à mourir de rire. Par contre la fin! Je ne m’y attendais mais tellement pas!! J’ai le cerveau qui bouillonne et je me pose trop de questions, vivement la suite!
Je n’ai qu’une envie: avoir le prochain tome dans les mains! J’ai limite besoin de réponses le plus vite possible! C’est pas possible de nous laisser sur un suspense pareil dis donc. Comme je l’ai déjà dit, je crois que ce tome c’est celui que j’ai préféré lire depuis le début. Les autres sont vraiment très bon mais celui là est un cran au dessus pour moi tant il est drôle!

The art in this series is exquisite... but it is so long - I am currently at chapter 88 and right now the series is at chapter 168 I reckon and it's still ongoing!! So I will take my sweet time with this one, although at this point (after so many months off) the art is the only thing that keeps me going.
Although we are dancing between so many love interests (when our main guy clearly just wants to study - although in this volume he finally realized that his summer was actually a lot of fun), I feel like it's pretty obvious he will end up with our heroine and I will be happy with that, but what else can happen that it needs 168 chapters and counting?
Anyway, this volume was hilarious.

Pretty solid volume we got compared to what the ones before it, Ai is serioussss, lot of backstory stuff that strengthened the plot. Erika’s “mom” is pretty weird tho. I’m interested to see if Umino’s mind changes later on to someone else instead of Segawa (anyone but Sachi please)
