Sometimes thinking small…
Can lead to big things. Like murder.
Esme Gardner isn’t a trend setter—or a trend follower, for that matter. She likes her comfortably messy apartment, insists on a reliable internet connection at all times, and has never baked a loaf of sourdough bread or knit a pair of mittens in her life. Esme is a potato chip loving artist who appreciates a good walk-in closet.
When her new friend, Ethan MacKinnon, proposes that she join him to spend Christmas in a tiny house in the middle of nowhere so that they can make money blogging about their ‘tiny house experience,’ Esme is not the least bit interested. Unfortunately, she needs money, and the job pays well, so with a little push from her friend Charlotte, Esme heads out to the tiny house on Big Wolf Lake with Ethan—a man she barely knows.
Pretending to be into minimalism isn’t easy, but their job is to demonstrate the joys of hygge—the Danish art of coziness—so Esme and Ethan press on and things are actually going pretty well . . . until they discover a body. Things take a turn for the worse when the pair realizes that they’re snowed in…with a murderer on the loose.
Can they solve the crime and nab the killer in time for Christmas?

Ms.Cambert's new series set in a tiny house near a lake and a forest seemed like the perfect winter setting. I enjoyed meeting Esme and Ethan and the characters who live full time at the campground. I found the information regarding Hygge to be interesting, too. The mystery kept me guessing until the end.

A short novella rather than a full-length novel, it delightful either way. I would definitely spend a weekend tucked away in this hygge hideaway!

Thea's writing style is out of this world. I have loved every book she has written and this one is no exception.

Esme and Ethan go to a very small cottage in the "middle of nowhere" to do a photo layout for the owners as they want to sell it. He ends up buying it and their layout was a hit. A blog owner contacted him and wanted him to do a "what Christmas is like" in a small cottage. They insist that Esme go along. One of the rangers comes along on their first day and takes them around to see where everything is and meet the winter residents. They have a great time. They get involved in several of the winter events and are doing great with the blog until there is a murder. Then Esme feels that they need to figure out who the murder is before they can continue.

Will they find the killer before someone else dies?

Excellent book!!!!

This is the first of the series and I love it. Can't wait to read the next book.
Esme got talked into blogging about spending the Christmas holiday in a tiny house in the middle of nowhere, and got into a mess with Ethan a good friend of theirs Charlotte.
Pinky Woods Campground and Cabins are in bridge rotation National Forest, where they met a team if Rangers.
When one of the Ranger met his death, everyone was stunned as to what happened and who had a reason.
Ranger Bob a retired detective had to investigate until the snow storm passed so the police could get through, so Esme, Ethan and Ranger Bob had to talk to everyone to ask questions about where they were at the time of Ted's death.
Now is the time to read for the details. You won't be disappointed!!!!

I'm already in love with this new series by one of my fave authors! The characters are great, and the whole idea of being out in Wyoming around Christmas was pretty awesome. Not that I'd want to do it, lol. I need my wi-fi without having to walk through feet of snow to get to it. ;)

I'm hoping Esme and Ethan end up as more than just new friends eventually, but I'm sure they're on the right track at least. I had a feeling I knew whodunit, but there were a lot of great red herrings making me change my mind along the way. The showdown was great, and the little mountain community was safe again when the perp was hauled away. I can't wait to read the next book!

Esme is a town loving girl who likes her creature comforts, her walk in wardrobe and her things around her. When she's asked to help her best friends friend, Ethan, out on a project, she takes the job because she needs the money.

Ethan has landed a job to take photos at a house due to be sold, a blog picks up the photos and offers them job writing a blog about a Hyggee (Danish art of coziness) Christmas in a small country cabin. Between Esme and Ethan, they stage the cabin and live a minimalistic hyggee festive season. The house is based an hour away from when they live, by Big Wolf lake.

The lake has a campground and cabins for people to stay, it's run by twin brothers Stewart and Jacob.

Out on a walk, Esme and Ethan discover a body, and when a snow storm hits, they realise they could be snowed in with a murderer on the loose.

A new cozy mystery series by an author I've read before. If you like this series, try the Rooftop Garden cozy mystery series by the same author.

“You’re organizing. Throwing things away. You’ve caught the bug!”
“The bug?”
“The whole minimalism, simplify-your-life, downsize bug! The hygge bug!”

My 1st Holiday Read of the Season! Cozy Murder Mystery with Hygee was perfect for me. I love looking at tiny houses on Instagram. Everything is in it's place. No chaos. It's relaxing.

At 123 pages I read Murder on Display (Hygee Hideway Cozy Mysteries) by Thea Cambert in just over an hour. It was fun!

I particularly like that it was the guy who had the baking and knitting skills. Looking forward to reading entire series as it progresses through the seasons. 🎄🏠📚

Esme and Ethan did not expect their minimalist trip to turn deadly. When they stumble across a body, they will be stranded with a killer. Will they be able to survive their trip or will they become the next victim?

A new cozy series set in the wilderness. Enjoyable quick read,

I've enjoyed other series by Thea Cambert, so when I saw this in my Kindle suggestions, I decided to read it. I absolutely love the two characters in this story and their adventures in a tiny house in the woods. I also love the concept of hygge - I've been incorporating it into my life as well. So, this mystery and the setting felt just right to me. When is the next one coming out Thea?

A very cute story

Since I would l like to live in a tiny house this was the perfect story for me. I loved the characters. And the mystery was very good. The scenery was awesome. My only complaint was I felt there could have been a bit more background on Eseme.

Great new series

I absolutely loved this new series by Thea. I love the characters. I didn't figure out who the killer was until right before it was revealed. I can't wait to see what adventures are ahead in book 2.

This was a quick and cozy read which I did enjoy. This book is like a Hallmark Christmas movie meets a murder mystery. Because it is a short story there is not a lot of character development, but it was an entertaining read.

I thought that a tiny house in the wilderness was a perfect setting for a Christmas mystery. Unfortunately I didn’t really connect with the characters.

Quick read - pretty sophomoric writing, but still fun. Expect as much as you would from a Hallmark movie plot.

This is my first read for Thea and I am so glad I finally picked up one of her !masterpieces. I absolutely loved every single page of this book. This was so hygge (hoo-ga) and I couldn't get enough of Esme and Ethan. They were such a cute couple with some amazing chemistry. Not to mention the perfect amount of curiosity they shared. This book is by far the very definition of hygge. Cozy, sweet and perfect in every way. It gave me such cozy vibes and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!!
