God hears her, Joyful Christmas is a twice a day devotional that starts with a bible verse and then shares a personal Christmas experience and or thoughts. This isn’t anything to deep but rather something encouraging and thought provoking. I know that sometimes I just need a little break from the secular holidays. And that’s what this was for me. I highly recommend it if you like short daily devotionals. Thanks to Our Daily Bread Publishing via Netgalley.
An enjoyable and uplifting small-town wholesome holiday romance with great chemistry of characters and the the fuzzy feels of a Hallmark story. Really put me in the holiday spirit. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is a wonderful devotion for the month of December. It will prepare you for the Holiday, but it also opened a new way of looking at very familiar scriptures.
This book is wonderful! I encourage those who love devotionals to add this to their collection and I know it will be pulled out yearly with the Christmas Decor. I was given an advance copy but plan already on purchasing this for myself and to give! The short inspiring anecdotes remind us of what the season really is about. Merry Christmas!
This is a good collection of brief devotions to read at the beginning and the end of each day in December. They are short and to the point, so you can read them quickly even in the busiest season of the year. These devotions are written by many different authors with engaging stories, which will bless you in the Christmas season.
I’ve read a few books now from the ‘God Hears Her’ collection and have enjoyed all of them. ‘God Hears Her: A Joyful Christmas: 31 Morning and Evening Devotions’ by Our Daily Bread Publishing is another book that I thoroughly enjoyed. For me, it’s not just about reading another book; each day I’m encouraged and motivated to spend extra time with the Lord reflecting on the scriptures and reading the stories.
This particular book has a morning and evening devotion for each day of the month of December and the “holiday season”. This can be such a busy time and not always happy or jolly. Some of us struggle through the run up to Christmas and post-Christmas. These devotions are a great way of spending time with Jesus at the beginning and end of each day. No matter what happens during the day it’s a good way to rest in Him. Each day offers a passage of Scripture and a devotional, an inspirational story to help us connect with God. It’s another reminder of God’s love for us.
The devotionals can be read quickly and I enjoy meditating on the scripture and spending time with God in prayer, praise and worshipping Him. Having a devotional book is a really good way of making sure that I spend time with God, when my mind will be telling me I’m too busy. The stories are inspirational, encouraging and uplifting.
Overall: this is a lovely devotional book for the month of December that shares the message that God loves us and we are very special to Him. It’s a special book and another great offering from the ‘God Hears Her’ collection that I have become very fond of.

What a treat to discover God Hears Her, A Joyful Christmas (31 Morning and Evening Devotions) by Our Daily Bread which includes Anne Cetas, Elisa Morgan, Xochitl Dixon, Patricia Raybon, Lori Hatcher, and Bree Rostic. Like the monthly devotions that can be sent to you by email or on the Our Daily Bread app these Christmas devotions are timely, to the point and leave you thinking about their meaning with the verses for the rest of the day. The bonus is that there is a morning and an evening devotions. Two for each day, wonderfully written.
I highly recommend all of the God Hears Her books but especially A Joyful Christmas. This time of year when we need to have our minds on the reason of the celebration we are often extremely busy with good things. This puts your thoughts on the best great part of the season. The devotions are concise but powerful. I plan to give some early Christmas presents this year with these books.
The publisher through Net Galley provided a digital ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.
A short and sweet yet disappointing Christmas - Advent morning and evening women’s daily devotional. This devotional is written by women for women from Our Daily Bread, to regenerate the heart, soul, mind throughout the month of December. The introduction is from a mother who was struggling financially and wanted to purchase something to give her children on Christmas Day. The ebook is linked to the appropriate page of the reading of the morning or evening. Each morning and evening gives the readers the scripture reading with a written reflection of the scriptures. I am disappointed as there’s no indication of meditation focused for reflection, no prayers or similar verses to look up to or even any reflection questions that we can reflect and ponder by ourselves or as a group or even mother-daughter. #GodHearsHerAJoyfulChristmas #NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book from Our Daily Bread Publishing via NetGalley for my honest review of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own thoughts, feelings and viewpoints of the book.
With two short reflections per day beginning December 1 and ending December 31 - 1 morning, and one evening - the women writers of Our Daily Bread provide sweet devotions for the Christmas season. Each takes a single verse, relates it to the Christmas season or the Christian walk, and focuses readers on why we celebrate at this time of year.
I loved "hearing" the different voices in this book, all proclaiming the joy of serving Jesus. I read it in a few days (I had a death in the family then was sick for two weeks, so I couldn't do it on the prescribed days.) I think it would have been a great thing to start Dec. 1 and move through it slowly and reflectively, instead. I definitely recommend putting this on the bookshelf for NEXT December!
God Hears Her, A joyful Christmas by Our Daily Bread
As Christmas approaches, most of get that excited glow and joy that comes with Christmas. Does that joy come from the expectation of the Christmas tree and the gifts under it.? This book will remind us of the true joy of Christmas. The day God sent his Son to be born in a manger is the true joy of Christmas.
This devotional filled with passages from the Bible and short stories of how the verses relate to us now are broken down into morning and evening segments. What a great way to start and end your day.
I hope this book brings you joy that lasts a lifetime.
I was given the joy of reading this book by the publisher and NetGalley. The review is my own.
This book is a good mix of a little bit of current stories with bible verses to go with the stories. I liked how short each day is, so you can easily add it to your morning or evening bible study/ time. A great countdown through Advent for the Christmas season with what the season truly is about, and not just the gifts under the tree. This would be a great book for an early Christmas exchange or if you are looking for a good gift that will last through out the years. I can see myself easily coming back to this year after year and growing from it.
I absolutely loved God Hears Her: A Joyful Christmas by Our Daily Bread. God Hears Her: A Joyful Christmas is a 31 day morning and evening devotional. Each devotion has a Scripture Reference and a supplemental reading with a Christmas twist to go with it. This book is part of the "God Hears Her" series that Our Daily Bread has created. I used this book as part of my personal devotion time and highly recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. (My review is also on Goodreads.)
December will be here in a few months. For those with a spiritual/Christian point of view, this collection written by women may well be welcome and enjoyed. There is a devotional for the morning and evening of every day in December. Some are anecdotes, all have a connection to Jesus and the season. If this appeals, take a few minutes each day to calm your spirits.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Let this be your new Advent devotional. I enjoyed having a reading every morning and evening to help keep my mind and my heart focused on the Spirit of Advent. Multiple authors bring their hearts and voices together to be a blessing to yours. I recommend this for all women who want an opportunity to refocus during the holiday season. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.
This special Advent devotion book is one you definitely will want to add to your December reading. There are short devotions for both morning and evening for 31 days, to help you stay focused on the true meaning of Christmas. I highly recommend this book.
I received a copy of this book from Our Daily Bread Publishing and NetGalley and the opinion expressed is my own.
Christmas can be busy and we can lose our focus on what we are supposed to be celebrating. Start and end your day with this new collection of devotions focused on the joy of the season. Read my full review at Girl Who Reads.
This is a really lovely book of devotions for the Advent season. There are two per day (morning and evening). I liked this book so much that I've bought a physical copy of it.
I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from Our Daily Bread Publishing through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, Our Daily Bread Publishing.
A beautifully put together devotional. These are shorter, lighter devotionals. I loved the morning and night format, it was a wonderful way to bookmark my day! I wish they would have focused more on Christmas, instead of regular life, but these were a great way to keep my heart in the right place during the busy season. 3.5⭐️
It isn't Christmas time but I liked reading it. I formative and well written. It is a short novella. And read it in one sitting. Also it's such a different genre than what I am used to. Thank you NetGalley.
I read the first two entries. I will wait to finish this in December. Such a busy, happy, sad month. This seems to be something to ground me. Something to remind me of what Christmas means. Thank you Netgalley.
This advent calendar of devotionals is a great gift for Christmas. It has morning and evening devotional which is really nice. They are small, having a short story about Christmas and a lesson with them. I think this would be a great gift for a ladies church group before the holiday season.
A nice devotional book with readings for morning and evening during December. It was made I guess more interesting by having different women who work at Our Daily Bread (publisher) write the Devos.
I received this book from the publisher via net galley in exchange for an honest review.
It was a daily reminder that Christmas is more than just the outside world. It allowed me to calm my daily anxieties and focus on what I was celebrating. I'll keep this around to read every year at Christmas.
I received this book from Our Daily Bread Ministries at the end of November. My daughter and I read this book together every night. I am so thankful for this book. It is also very beautiful inside and out. I plan to gift this book to someone this year.
A wonderful and encouraging daily devotional. What I enjoy about this variety of devotionals is the short story that tags in with the devotional reading of the day.
I want to thank NetGalley for allowing me to enjoy and experience this amazing book. I plan on keeping it close.
This was a wonderful devotional to read throughout Advent and the start of the holiday season. As a Catholic, I celebrate Christmas well into January, so while it's a shame this ends in December, I still think it did the trick!
An inspirational compilation of stories woven from scripture and life experiences! Each author helped to bring the Christmas story to life and showcase the meaning behind Advent~ and us drawing closer to Jesus!
This is a nice devotional that I'll read again at Christmastime. The selections are short and well done - a great way to celebrate the days leading up to Christmas.
This is the Christmas book that every woman needs. Amidst all the chaos of today's world, spending time reading this book each day is the feeling of peace and calmness that we all need.
