Do you find yourself encountering one block after another in various aspects of your life? Are you unable to move forward despite doing whatever it takes? Do you tell yourself exactly what others tell you or do you make it a point to listen to that wise inner voice which you so often ignore? Meera asks thought-provoking questions that will make you reconsider and redefine what’s truly important to you. In a world where meeting others’ expectations has stealthily become a way of life, it is increasingly challenging to preserve and honour your authenticity.
Your genuine desires and true nature will surface as you journey through Meera’s words. You will realise the significance of your presence on our planet. You will experience a shift in your perspective of life and every experience it brings, be it positive or negative. You are exactly where you are meant to be right now. The sooner you understand this, the better you will be able to steer the course of your life in the direction of your choice. Meera questions every self-limiting belief that prevents you from being true to yourself. You cannot help experiencing positive changes in the way you think, feel and talk to yourself after reading her book.
Above all, through Meera’s writing, you will understand why you matter most in your life. You will realise that you will have to choose to be fine, well and happy before you can make any positive difference in the lives of those who matter most to you. She highlights self-sabotage in numerous forms. You may be short-changing yourself without realising it. You may be unaware of the extent of damage continuously being caused through your negative self-talk. Meera gives you a much-needed and long-overdue wake-up call; one that you will not want to miss.
Lots of little pearls of wisdom sprinkled throughout
I appreciate Meera’s commitment to living her best life and teaching others what she’s learned along her long and meandering path to authentic fulfillment. There are lots of pearls of wisdom sprinkled throughout this book, all of them coming back to the idea that we’re the only ones ultimately responsible for our levels of joy and fulfillment. Meera offers suggestions on how to spot and eliminate the many ways we sabotage our own dreams and happiness, and how we can choose differently.
At times, the tone of the book feels slightly paternalistic and lecturing, which was off-putting to read; I want to feel encouraged and inspired to make change when reading this type of book, not made to feel as if I’m doing everything wrong and “must” do this or “have to” stop that. The final chapter, which delves into needing to care for the planet and advocates vegetarianism, felt disconnected from the rest of the book, and again, felt a little heavy-handed with judgment of certain lifestyle choices.
That being said, it’s impossible to ignore the wisdom contained in this book, and the insights and inquiries Meera poses are all worth spending time with.
A wonderful guide to journey back to your authentic self
Beautifully written book with lessons on the importance of living in gratitude, trusting the universe and your intuition, of letting go of self-limiting beliefs , finding self-acceptance, identifying strengths in your weaknesses and embracing challenges as a way to find and realise your uniqueness and receive abundance, thus unlocking the key to your true self. All of these lessons are imparted through very relatable examples of the authors own journey and realisations along the way with each “key” clearly explained and helpful suggestions on how-to unlock each one. I especially loved the line on how something as simple as a gratitude practice can be the antidote to negative thoughts and toxic environments. As a parent I know the lessons and tools in this book will be invaluable in helping me raise my own children by nurturing and staying aware of their true inner selves. This book is a wonderful companion for your bedside table - tapping into its wisdom a little every day will help you tap into yours.
This book really resonated with me, I’m currently in a point in my life where I’m leaving the old life behind at 39 and venturing into a new career path.
I spent 18 years of my life in an industry I had no business being in to now working part time in a gig job so I have time to work on my passions.
This book covered everything I had to go through to making this transition: realistic expectations, taking unsupportive advice, toxic relationships, and finding the courage to make that life changing step.
This book is great for anyone who finds themselves unhappy and in need for a change in their life
“I’m here to show you that you can only discover the purpose of your life if you are true to yourself in your beliefs, thoughts, and actions.”
Wow. This statement is so powerful. This book provided some great opportunities for self reflection and to check in with myself. I highly recommend checking this book out to help you create space to breathe in your life and feel like a human being again.
I love how the author has shared her own personal experiences of grief and achievements; how to be truthful to ourselves; how to trust our intuition and how to keep our inner child alive. Through any challenges, we grow and learn to be more resilient. If you look for some inspiration and wish to make positive changes in your life, this book can give you the right guidance.
