A pretty forgettable novel by the writer of the screenplay for Roger Corman-produced movie Cocaine Wars. Feels more like a sci-fi novel with the horror label slapped on, along with a few more horror-ish scenes to profit off the success of Stephen King's Firestarter.

If you want a 'kid-with-mental-powers" story, you're probably better off watching season 1 of Stranger Things, or just rereading Firestarter. If you want more of that type of book, reading this is good too.
