From a USA Today Bestselling Author ~ An exciting Regency Romance!

Can these two wounded souls find happiness together?

Sarah Ramsey set aside her hopes and dreams after her disastrous arrival in London nearly two years ago that left her ruined in Society’s eyes--and her mother’s. She’s grateful for her position as a companion with a kind employer, though her new life falls short of her expectations. Her dull existence is upended when she’s asked to plan a charity ball and meets the handsome man assigned to aid her.

Captain Harry Clarke enjoys his work with a charity for wounded soldiers, especially since he lost a leg in the war, which makes him a greater burden to his family. Though he feels unqualified to plan a ball, spending time with lovely Sarah is certainly no hardship. After a passionate kiss, he’s eager to spend more time with her as she makes him feel whole.

Given her ruined reputation, Sarah knows nothing can come from her attraction to Harry, even if it reawakens her dreams. Yet how can she resist the heroic captain? His compassion for others stirs her even as she tells herself that he deserves someone with more to offer than her with her tattered reputation.

Harry quickly falls for Sarah’s quiet beauty and gentle soul, and he longs to claim her for his own. But when disaster strikes, can they cast aside their doubts to work together and claim a chance for happiness?

After a horrid experience when she first arrived in London, Miss Sarah Ramsey was the victim of ignorance and found herself locked in a brothel, luckily for her, she was rescued before she could be sold and was given a second chance. She soon became a companion to the Marchioness of Whirlenhall and has tried very hard to put her past behind her. But while meeting a friend from the country at the coaching inn, Sarah spies a man scamming newly arrived women with promises of training and employment, as well as lodgings, but in reality, they are enslaving women in brothels. Sarah confronts the man and things turn ugly. After spying the altercation, Captian Harry Clarke intervenes and the man finally backs down. Sarah thanks him and they part ways, never expecting to see each other again.

But fate is not done with them, and mutual friends end up bringing them together again to organize a charity ball. Something that requires them to spend more time together, Harry is enchanted but doesn’t think he is worthy of Sarah, having lost a leg in the war. Likewise, Sarah is attracted to Harry but believes she is ruined thanks to the incident with the brothel. They fight their attraction and work together for the ball and in addition to this, Harry begins tracking down the men running the “maid-training” scam and finds one of his former soldiers involved. Harry tries unsuccessfully to convince the man to stop working with the scammers but is met with stiff opposition. And when things take a violent turn, any hope Harry has for a HEA dies a swift death when self-doubt and miscommunication cause them to part ways. Can they find their HEA or will they let their pasts rule their future?

This was a very well-written, nicely-paced story with very likable characters. The book deals with some sensitive issues, but isn’t as dark I thought it would be. Instead, it is a story filled with wonderful characters, a lot of emotion, truly evil villains, a hero with wounds inside and out but who is decidedly not a rogue, a heroine who will fight for what is right, warmish love scenes, and a HEA complete with an epilogue. I enjoyed this installment of the series and would be happy to recommend this title. This is the eighth book in the series, but it can easily be read as a standalone without any problems.

Two people who feel they don't deserve love. The H because he was wounded in the war and lost a leg. The h because she was drugged and almost lost her virtue before being rescued. Both parents of these two treated them awful so that added to their belief they didn't deserve happiness.

Romance builds slowly and their feeling for each other shines through. Our H isn't a Rogue so he is honorable in how he treats everyone. He goes out of his way to help the wounded from war etc. The h also helps others in warning them not everything is as it seems.

There is lovemaking within marriage - heat level 2.5 out of 5 if that and only described once.

This story has suspense, nasty villains, romance, wonderful main and secondary character's and two souls finding they are deserving of the best life has to offer.

No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romantic and a small tad of spice.

I received an early copy, all opinions are my own and freely given. (ljb)

A sweet story about two people who don’t believe they are entitled to happiness. Sarah and Harry are brought together to plan a charity ball but it is their desire to close down bogus servant agencies forcing young women into brothels that leads them into danger. Read this standalone story you won’t be disappointed.

A fun autumn read about a couple that challenges what is right in historical London. I'm a huge fan on Williams and enjoyed this festive read full of sparkle, love, friendship, and the deep desire of doing waht it is right--something Williams does oh so well!

Sarah Ramsey and Captain Harry Clarke have more in common than they realize. After her kidnapping almost two years ago, Sarah's reputation is ruined with no hope for love and a family. Harry is dealing with losing the lower part of his leg and feels no woman could love him. How wrong they are. Together they organize a ball to raise money for the charity to help returning soldiers and stopping criminals using coercion to young ladies to supply brothels. Sarah's past will be a key to saving the young women. Soon Harry and Sarah realize they are meant to be together. A unique premise to a trope of two friends becoming more than they ever hoped. I really enjoyed reading this book. The pace never slowed down.

I love the Regency period. And I particularly loved this story. Told from the perspective of two people who have found themselves where they believed life had nothing more to offer them. I really enjoy stories where one or both have something that causes Society to shun them. The writer does an amazing job of making their feelings real to the reader and make you hope for their HEA. A great book to settle in with because you'll want to finish it all immediately.

As a fan of Lana's, I found this book to be another fun read. Working as a companion, she's put into a stressful situation in planning a charity ball. I loved the twists and turns as the two characters are forced together. Definitely an enjoyable read.

Couldn't put it down

I love Lana's Rogue stories. The characters are so vibrant and well rounded. Their adventures are so intriguing and spellbinding. I lose a lot of sleep over these books because I just can't put the story aside until I've devoured every single word. Very satisfying ending. Already pre-ordered the next one.

Will they let their low opinion of themselves part them…

A lovely addition to this series, with now Sarah’s own story, the rescued Miss from a previous book.
It is quite a change in her attitude from the so sure young woman who came fresh from out of the country. She is now more measured, cautious, she even takes precautions with her appearance, in some way hiding behind faded colors. As despite having found a good working position, she still feels ashamed of her gullibility and abduction.
Plus her mother’s words do not help, tattooing even deeper in her soul the ruination her recklessness led her into.
Harry after having felt all his childhood his uselessness as a fourth son, often left behind, sensing he is meaningless. He then thought he had found his place in the army, until a wound leaves him off-duty and feeling broken even less of use than before. Why he hides his impediment, ashamed of a wound received while servicing his country.

Both first meet under dire circumstances, so when they meet again to work alongside, they are enthralled but also scared the other might learn of their secret. By dint of being told by others they are damaged, they came to believe they are unworthy. Yet as they unravel the ins and outs of the sham behind the maids employment agency, they begin to hope for a different future, if they are willing to put to rest the past.
A sweet tale of seeing past one’s flaws and taking some risks toward happiness.

Just lovely!

A Rogue's Autumn Bride is a nice blend of historical romance and suspense. Sarah and Harry, already working together to plan a charity ball for their employers, also find themselves racing against the clock to uncover a horrible plot that is preying on desperate young women--putting both of their lives in danger in the process. I loved that even though Sarah roused every protective instinct Harry had, she definitely wasn't a typical damsel in distress. When threatened, she not only stood up for herself but for other women--and then she let Harry come in and lend his muscle to the endeavor. ;)

Watching two broken (in their own minds, thanks to the messages they each got from their dysfunctional families) people come together to find love was wonderful as well. There were times I wanted to shake one or both of them--just talk to each other about what's going on in your heads!--but at the same time Ms Williams made it seem believable that they were hesitant to, and it made things all the sweeter when they finally(!) had that conversation that allowed them to get on with their HEA already. And that epilogue... <3

A Rogue's Autumn Bride (I know it's the series name, but honestly, Harry wasn't at all rogueish here) is the 8th book in the series but worked just fine as a standalone too.
