Hard pass. I’d not normally leave a review below three stars, this however is the exception.
Kyle and Luke’s story is one I’ll remember for the wrong reasons. I giggled at the cheesy lines, and cringeworthy not so seggsy scenes such as these: “I have a good hand which has me shooting when I feel the need." “Perfect pucker I desired.”
Honestly wondered exactly what the heck I’d just read! My highlighted notes aren’t pleasant.
“I hoped I'd done enough to prevent the feral cats and foxes from taking down any more of the cattle.”
Please research the setting. Cats and foxes don’t take down cattle. This was the opening chapter to a ‘heavily revised’ work. I’m confused for sure.
Run on sentences, word repetition were frustrating. Typos.
Another IG made me do it with promo posts. Sorry, hard pass on Rode Hard. There are some amazing mm reads around. This, insert eye roll...
My kindle says it was 75% and I am not sure I can agree or contradict because I don't remember anything besides the whole 15 years apart... that probably got me off the book in the first place.
Basically, this is a DNF that didn't fit my tastes and therefore I don't feel I should or can judge and rate. I am kind of "discovering" or liking cowboy/farmer genre and this one was not the better example of this group.
Quite a few secrets in this one, secrets you know will have you crying for these characters. These two guys come together after knowing each other years before at high school. Two very different walks of life. Can the son of a lawyer and a cowboy get together or will life drag them apart? I highly recommend this story and look forward to more by this author.
