It all starts with an invitation. One Maddie Grant is determined to accept.
When an invitation to spend the Yule season at Ramsay Castle arrives at the door of the Grant keep, Maddie Grant immediately begins to plan for the journey. But soon, an obstacle emerges, and it comes in the shape of her husband.
Alex Grant refuses to take such a risk with his family. Traveling through the Highlands in the dead of winter is madness, especially with three young bairns. The journey is more perilous than his wife understands.
Yet the idea of gathering the whole family together for the Yule season is just too tempting for Maddie. When Alex commands her to remain in their home, his sharp denial of her request only spurs her plan: She and the children will sneak away while Alex sleeps. By the time her husband wakes and chases them down, they will be closer to Ramsay land than their own.
One adventurous day in the Highlands, for a whole season with family. It’s the perfect plan.
But when a snowstorm hits and turns the adventure into a fight for survival, Maddie finds herself in desperate need of an impossible rescue, and Alex grows increasingly hopeless as he searches for his wife. Luckily, Christmas is a time for miracles, and there are a few angels who might lend the couple a helping hand.

Yuletide Angels Clan Grant # 8.5 Keira Montclair ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Maddie Grant has been offered the chance to spend the Yule season at Ramsay castle so she immediately starts to plan for the journey to Ramsay land, but there is one who is not keen on this particular invitation and poses quite the obstacle. Her husband Alex.
Alex Grant absolutely refuses to take the risk of such a journey with his family. Traveling through the highlands in winter is crazy especially with three young children in tow. He knows that the journey is fraut with danger and more perilous than his wife understands.
For Maddie the idea of having the whole family together for the Yule season is just too tempting to give up on. So when Alex commands her to remain home, that only makes Maddie want to go all the more. She hatches a plan and sets it in motion. She and the children will sneak away while Alex sleeps and by the time her husband awakens and realizes they've left he will chase them down, but by then they will be closer to Ramsay land then their own.
But when a snowstorm of epic proportions hits and turns the adventure into a fight for survival, Maddie finds herself in dire need of a rescue, while Alex grows ever increasingly hopeless as he searches for his wife. Luckily for all of them, Christmas is a time for miracles, and there are a few angels watching and willing to lend a hand.
Keira Montclair brings us a wonderful Yuletide tale that is fraud with danger, yet filled with love. Some of this love comes from humans and some comes from Angels, but either way you will not be disappointed. I devoured this story like I was a hungry animal. There was something so sweet and special about this fabulous story that makes it utterly incredible. Thank you Ms. Montclair for bringing us a Christmas story that is so full of love and happiness.
This is an OK Christmas novella in the Clan Grant series, but I did have a few issues with it. It gets 3 stars from me. Please note that it should be read AFTER book five in the series, as it contains references to all five of those earlier books.
Maddie and Alex both behaved poorly in this story. Alex stubbornly refused to let his family travel to Ramsey lands for the yuletide celebration, without giving Maddie a good reason for that decision. Then Maddie stubbornly decided to go anyway, and arranged to go without the proper escort guards. Unsurprisingly, things went very wrong, and Maddie's group needed to be rescued. They both apologized to each other after it was all over, but the whole problem could have been avoided if they had not both been so stubborn.
The parts where the 'Yuletide Angels' helped to rescue Maddie and her group were a little weird. I won't give spoilers on who the angels were, but it didn't really make sense how they were able to help in the rescue. There MIGHT be more information on the rescue in the Highland Swords series, since the author recommends it to readers who are interested in the 'angels' -- but I have not read that series, so I don't know for sure.
I did like that this novella included many of the characters from the first five books in the Clan Grant series.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
If you haven't read any of this author's series I urge you too. Consider it a wonderful gift to yourself to get you through the Holidays.
This story is about one of my all time favorite families - The Grants/Ramsays. This is a stand alone but will touch you more if you have read their series. You are taken back to a time when Alex and Maddie have been married a few years with 3 children.
I must admit I was upset with Maddie through most of this story. I understand her having a strong personality from the later books in the series. But, in this one her decision almost cost her many lives. As the story progresses you get a glimpse why she acted the way she did. I still thought it was out of character to put so many in danger. As the saying goes ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL!
My old Polish heart could hardly take the cuteness of the kids - to see their personalities as children and know how they are as adults (in later storeis) brought a huge smile to my face. Plus the banter was perfect with the kids.
The ending has a touch of magic that was something to read. Angels from the future to come and save the day - what a unique concept for this special Yuletide story.
Lovemaking within marriage - heat level 2 out of 5. Love of family comes through in this special story.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romantic and a small tad of spice.
I received an early copy. All opinions are my own and freely given. (ljb)
THE MAGIC OF YULETIDE AT IT’S BEST! Yuletide Angels by Keira Montclair is book 9 in the Clan Grant series and oh how I just loved this book. It will definitely put you in the holiday spirit. Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone but I am highly recommending you read this whole series to get to know all the wonderful characters in Keira’s writings. Keira is one of my favorite authors and if you like medieval romances and Yuletide than this is the book for you. I found this book very well written, the story original and it will keep you on the edge of your seat from page 1 to the very end. This story has being invited to a Yuletide celebration by family, making a decision not to go, going anyway, a bad snow storm, twin boys and a younger sister, staying in a cave, looking for help, being rescued by 4 angels (and who the angels are will surprise you as it did me), almost dying, surprised presents, making mistakes and just knowing that the one you are with is the one you love. I am highly recommending you read this book… It was Fantastic!!!
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Maddie and Aex Grant have been invited to Ramsey Castle for the Yule season. Everyone is excited, but with the Norsemen wandering around and it being the dead of winter, Alex says no to the journey. Maddie is determined to go and sneaks out with the children one night, heading for Ramsey Castle. Traveling through the Highlands in the dead of winter proves dangerous when Maddie gets lost. She is saved by three men and a woman wearing the Grant plaid, but she doesn't recognize them. When they tell her that they are her grandchildren from the future, she has a hard time believing it. They meet up with Alex and lead him to Maddie just in time to save her. Everyone arrives at Remsey Castle safely, and waiting for them is a basket of gifts that seem to have appeared out of nowhere. Alex and Maddie speak in private about what occurred in the storm. The thought that their future grandchildren had somehow come to the past to rescue them was an amazing thing. Their granddaughter comes back one last time to say goodbye and promises to see them again soon.

Yuletide Angels by Keira Montclair Clan Grant Series Book Nine This short novella brings the reader to a time in Alex and Maddie Grant’s life where they have their twin sons, Jake and Jamie, at around four, and Kyla is around a year and a half. Logan comes to Grant Castle to invite them to join Alex’s two sisters at Ramsay Castle. Alex is concerned about reivers and Norsemen and refuses to go. Maddie takes matters into her own hands and is going with or without her husband. Needless to say…it’s quite an adventure that I don’t want to say more about and ruin it for anyone. If you cry easily, you may want to keep some tissues nearby. Loved the story, tears and all. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
This is yet another heartwarming story by Keira Montclair. We are once again with the Grant and Ramsay families. If you have read the other stories and series by this author we are brought back to the earlier years of Alex and Maddie's marriage. We get to see some of the dynamics that led them to be the power couple they are in the later stories. There is a lot of passion in this story and these characters never cease to surprise me. I love when Keira Montclair adds the supernatural aspect of the Scots heritage to her stories. I truly enjoyed this story and continue to look forward to her next book.
Alex and Maddie Grant both have strong wills and a tendency to each feel ththey are correct in what they choose. This short Christmas story brings the magic of the season during the 1200's to life. The highlands of Scotland during winter can bring extreme cold and storms dropping large amounts of snow. Maddie is determined to spend the holiday with the Ramsey clan and gathers her young children with her for their long trip. Their adventure brings both Maddie and Alex the knowledge that strange and unexplainable things can occur in the cold Scottish winter.
I liked the strong female characters and their insistence that their husbands respect their opinions and involve them in decisions. However in mediaeval times this would be radical. Spoilers here. I just don't believe that a mother of 3 small children would risk their lives, as well as her beloved servants, because she wants to prove to her husband that she should have a say in the matter. It seems too irresponsible in the middle of winter with dangerous folks about. I love the characters and the relationships but the story went overboard with the images of their future grandchildren guiding them. A bit too mystical for my taste. But a nice Christmas tale overall.
I really loved going back and getting a glimpse into Alex and Maddie's early marriage with their young children, Jake, Jaime and Kyla, and stepping back and remembering what is important to them. This Christmas novella again reminds us of why we all love Alex Grant. I had fun visiting favorite characters, and who doesn't love Logan and Loki?!! among many others! There were some unexpected twists that were pretty darn awesome. I just really loved this book, as I do all of Keira's books. I recommend this novella and all Keira Montclair's books.
What a wonderful revisit with Alex and Maddie when they were still early in their marriage. A fun visit to other past characters & characters from the future (guardian angels) were special moments in the story. I loved remembering Alex's sense of humor, Maddie's strength & the cave scene was beautiful. I loved this book - surprise, surprise! I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.
An Enlightening Christmas Story: What a wonderful story and great characters. A passionate novella packed with the warmth of the holiday season but, that's not to say that all things went without turmoil and trouble along the way. The last few chapters were a total surprise and gave me shivers at least twice. It makes me want to believe that miracle can happen. A feel good Christmas story not to miss.
Lord how I have missed Alex, Maddie, Logan......wow this was such a great way to bring a touch of the past to us for a Christmas Novela. It was a touching, warm, happy, make ya feel good book. I loved getting to see so many of the previous characters. Although I had a sneaking suspicion of the mystery taking place....it was fun to just keep reading. No spoilers folks this book is truly worth reading. Awesome Keira!
All of Keira’s books are fantastic. I love any story about the Grant and Ramsey clans. This book was so good because it made me think back to where all the characters belonged in previous stories. And of course I love that Alex and Maddie young and early into their marriage and family. It just was a feel-good story, the whole way through. And I am a person who does believe in divine intervention and angels. I hope you enjoy the story as much as I did. Merry Christmas
Keira thank you thank you thank you!!! I absolutely loved loved loved this story. As always you never let me down with all of your stories. What a beautiful storyline and beautiful families. I just loved the 4 Angels! You wrote a fantastic story. I can’t wait to read the next book. As much as I miss these characters I’m still thrilled with the newer series of stories. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥰😊
As always I love reading about Maddie and Alex. This was a special book where there are angels among us. The kids were a joy to hear their antics and when they and Maddie were in trouble in the blizzard their ancestors were there to protect them. Alex was going mad worring about losing the love of his life. Excellent read. HEA.
This is a journey where we get to meet up with the Grants and the Ramseys. Maddie and Alex find themselves at odds and need the help of angels to find a way back to each other. There are wonderful secondary characters. The emotions running through this run from angry to happy and despair to joyful. A good read for the holidays.
It’s always a great joy to spend time in Grant land, and it was especially sweet to spend time with Maddie and Alex and the first 3 kids. I won’t give any spoilers, but what a surprise after Maddie gets herself into trouble, as is the way of the stubborn Grant woman haha Loved it!
I love all the clan Grant books so far. This one was a little strange to me but still enjoyable. Maddie and Alex are both headstrong and I found them both frustrating, especially Maddie, in this book. She put herself, her children and others at risk to get her way. Still the book was good.
It doesn't matter what the time of year is to read this Christmas gift from Ms. Montclair. Those of you if you're like me will find this story heart warming. As I title this review "A Must Read", without giving anything away all those others like myself who are HUGE fans of the Grant/Ramsey stories you're in for a real treat. !!!
I was thrilled to read another story of the Grants, they feel like my family. This one was so amazing with Maddie and Alex's yet to be born grandchildren. I wish and hope more stories about Grant clan.
Loved this holiday story! Old characters and favorite ones to boot! Does anything Alex and Maddie are in ever get old? Loved the twist with the Angels! And love how cute the little ones conversations are! So realistic! Great story! Great read!
I've read every book of Clan Grant. They are all amazing. This story will have you laugh and cry. Keira you are an amazing story teller. Just perfect. I can't wait for the next book, and I'll definitely save and reread again.
I absolutely love these characters and have followed them from the beginning. This story shows how that Maddie and Alex can overcome anything as long as they try hey do it together. Thank you for showing more of these characters, I love them.
I loved this story of magic and the early years with Alex and Maddie. It’s a nice sweet read to get one in the Christmas spirit of believing in magic and family. I’ll read this again and again.
Wow thank you, this was a lovely story I always wonder what happened to Alex and Maddie after marriage and the twins. It was good to reminisce on the Grant and Ramsey Clan. Two of my favorite clans never get tried of reading their stories again and again.
What a sweet story. I love reading about the Grants and the Ramsey's. The characters are fabulous, entertaining and interesting. Keira is one of favorite authors. I have reading her books for years.
I love the story’s of the Grants and Ramsey’s and can’t get enough of them. This story adds angels and future generations. The Author spun a beautiful story of family, dedication and faith. Great for the holidays!
What a sweet story about family, trust, and angels! Although it is a holiday book it can be read anytime and it reminds us that family Is what is important and angels are with us every day!
