Isn't there supposed to be separation of church and state?

Dr. Tony Evans takes a completely different view. After all, God created the earth, the family, the church... and government. Governments where the participants are using the Bible and Christlikeness as their guide will succeed; those that don't will become oppressive.

Evans starts with the concept of Kingdom Politics (chapters 1-4). Next, he deals with the priorities of Kingdom Politics (chapters 5-8), such as sanctity of life and justice. Then, he focuses on the Citizens of Kingdom Politics. (Chapters 9-12) This includes in recognizing our citizenship is ultimately in heaven, but we're here to make an impact on our society. He also looks at voting, noting that different Christians will have differing priorities, and pointing out our allegiance should not be to the Democrat or Republican or even Libertarian Party but to the ruler of the kings of the earth, viewing ourselves as Kingdom Independents.

Finally, he has a conclusion where he presents "A Kingdom Strategy for Community Transformation, which has a three point plan:
1. Assemble: Unified Sacred Gathering
2. Address: Unified Compassionate Voice
3. Act: Unified Social Impact
I found this to be a very thought provoking book. It is motivating me to do more praying before I vote, as well as to encourage me to get involved. I highly recommend this book.

Evans tackles a huge issue in Kingdom Politics. The main assertion is that we, as believers, need to be more about the Kingdom than about a party. And while the book raised some questions for me as to how *exactly* we do this as we vote - the premise is solid. Kingdom Politics also shows the relationship between God and nations/political structure throughout the Bible. It's a message that's relevant and also one that would greatly benefit people who identify themselves more with parties than with Jesus.

Everyone needs to be reminded of the basics. While this book is simple, it reminds Christians of the basics of getting God back into the government. Or rather, reminding Christians that God is already in the government, we just need to remind our leaders and each other to act accordingly.

This should be read by every Christian heading into 2024.

This is a great read that provides the scriptural perspective on how we are called to engage in the world of politics and respectful debate regarding the important topics of today's world. Tony Evans does a great job weaving a message that addresses the current hard topics and what scripture says about it. I found it to be balanced and a refreshing focus on God's word.

It really puts things into perspective and makes you think about the issues. No one party is better than the other, it depends on your conscience and values...both parties have good and bad things they support. Pray for your choices and your leaders, whether you voted for them or not.

The book takes you back to the basics and if the biblical principles are applied more, this would correct many of the problems we have as a nation.

Starts off strong, but finishes very weak in the final third when he tries to apply his principles and oftentimes misses.

Wonderful book on how GOD needs to be in politics and every area of our lives. We are to look at the kingdom of GOD for the answer and do what is right.
