I really wanted to be on board with Antoni: Let's Do Dinner. The cover, the buzz, all of it. But Antoni Porowski keeps explaining things the story already showed me, and by the halfway mark I felt talked down to. When it lets the scenes breathe, it's great. Those moments are just too few. Maybe for newer readers, probably a pass for anyone who's read much in this lane.

What Antoni Porowski highlights in Antoni: Let's Do Dinner is the absolute tragedy of people giving up their critical thinking skills in exchange for cheap group validation.

I saw this book at my local homesense and instead of purchasing it I decided to place the book on hold at my hometown library. I’m honestly glad that I borrowed the book instead of making the purchase. It wasn’t my cup of tea if you get my jist. I read each high class recipe and continued to say to myself “I’ll never make this food, why would I do that instead of just simplifying the recipe so it’s not complicated. I’ve never heard of this chef either. I’ll give him credit it’s probably his first book but would I read another of his? Honestly, probably not. Was it worth the read? Meh. I tried and that’s what counts. I did love the pictures though. Beautifully taken.
