Tang Mo is now on his way to power up as much as he can in order to survive. He tries to figure out how to maximize the potential of his unique power.
Tang Mo reunites with the children he met previously in the school. They're now in the Attack organization and their leader, Luo Fengcheng seems harmless but I just don't like him. It always feels like he is up to something.
Tang Mo finally meets the ML, Fu Wenduo in a game and I have to say I like Fu Wenduo more. He has a certain charisma and isn't as annoying as Tang Mo can be sometimes.
The Pinocchio's Card Game on Christmas Eve was a very interesting, exciting mind game. I liked the interaction between the main characters. I also liked how the two of them tricked Pinocchio and won the game.
Descriptions are few, but give a good atmosphere to the story. Hearing Christmas songs on the street must be chilling when one realizes that it's the signal of the Christmas instance starting, which could lead to their death. However, the step-by-step description of the fight with the Iron Shoemaker felt anti-climatic, almost like reading someone's first attempt at writing a fight scene. The Iron Shoemaker's game itself was interesting, especially coupled with Fu Wenduo's game.
I appreciate Tang Mo's direct nature. Even after obtaining the power of looking harmless to others, he still believes it's better to be upfront rather than play weak and harmless and trick others in order to kill them. This was the first time I actually agreed with his way of thinking. He seemed too selfish and arrogant most of the time but now it shows that at least he is honest. I also liked that after he realized Fu Wenduo's strength he decided to ask for his help to teach him how to fight instead of just relying on his own skills to get better. And I agree with him because a good teammate is indeed more important than the difficulty of the game.
This volume was more interesting than the previous one. The plot was more interesting, there was more action and the main characters finally met. They didn't have much interaction yet but they're on their way to meet in real life as well not just during a game. Except they both seem to go to a place the other just left or is about to leave. It's annoying but because of the anticipation the greater it will be when they finally meet in person.
