Carolyn is a gifted and fearless business woman, dedicated to using her skills and influence to improve NYC. Levi Holt and his brother, Jesse see her as a hypocrite whose machinations are destroying their home.
Enemies to lovers reveals that Levi's attitude changes.
This is a very enjoyable read, although it is stretched out in the final quarter just when it feels concluded.

An interesting read by another new to me author filled with so many twists. As intense as some scenes were, the events that transpired were somewhat predictable. One thing is for sure though, country folks can always find a way to survive!
Being wrong has never felt so right.
Carolyn is your typical heiress, except she did work for her success as an adult without money from her family. She is a determined woman, yet extremely naive and overly trusting.
“Won’t you rather have evil to protect and please you, than an angel who leaves you wanting more?”
Levi is your typical country boy living in the big city. His determination to save his family’s land unfolds a lot of dark secrets, leading him to Caro. He was such a gentle man inside and out, but ruthless when needed.
We’re just two people who met and opened up to each other, and we said, ‘I’m willing to stand by you.’
Levi and Caro’s chemistry was ignited with fire and passion from their initial encounter. They have an undeniable connection, pulling them together through the toughest obstacles. Their willingness to go above and beyond for the other was electrifying. Excited to read Jesse’s story and learn his version of what happened with his sister.

Wth did I read?!
This author is new to me. The blurb sounded interesting. But in reading the book it was like watching a train wreck but you couldn’t look away. This wasn’t an enemy to lovers trope. The heroine while kidnapped keeps having sexual thought at a about herself kidnapper. Spoiler they even sleep together while she was kidnapped. And it only gets worse from there. I didn’t know it was possible to get worse but it did. I finished the book because I cannot leave a book on DNF but this book was very close to being the first. The plot was ridiculous, the characters were even worse. I don’t recommend this book at all unless you like wasting your life away with idiotic plot lines and characters.

Original and gritty:
This story was compelling and it drew me in and left me anxiously waiting to find out what was going to happen next. There were plenty of twists and turns and I liked how unpredictable the story was.
I did find some of it quite difficult to read especially in the beginning as there was quite a lot of anger, violence and drug use (by secondary characters). I enjoyed the book more once past this and when Caro and Levi were finally in a committed relationship. I also really liked the ending which thankfully wasn't rushed and it felt natural and complete. I look forward to hopefully reading further books in the series.

I received a free ARC from Hidden Gems for the promise of an honest review.
It was good. Carolyn is an heiress but yet a savvy business woman. Levi is a cowboy who has come to the city to make money to help out his family's struggling ranch. Their paths cross when Levi uncovers a land deal gone bad. Turns out Carolyn's fiancé is doing so underhanded business and Levi kidnaps Carolyn. Together they discovwr a bigger conspiracy that was meant to bring down Carolyn's business and Levi's family got caught in the middle.
There is some predictably about the story but it is entertaining. For a savvy business woman, Carolyn is a little naive

Hot, sexy and packed with suspense and action. I really enjoyed this read which had me engaged from start to finish. A great romance story which starts with a whole lot of chemistry and continues into a steamy romance. It’s not just romance, there is heart ache, adventure with some bad dudes thrown in there to add suspense and action which kept me hooked. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

I got a copy of this book through Hidden Gems and I voluntarily chose to review it. This is the first book by this author I have read. I will look for more of her work. This is one you will need to take your time with or you will miss something. It has great characters and the tory is well written. I would say give this one a chance.

DNF 35% So apparently the main character at 23 thought kidnapping a woman would solve the family problems. Beyond the fact that he and his brother actively hate each other (stated fact🙄) no one thought to go through a lawyer or any other logical idea. The Heroine may be smart in business but I’m not seeing it.

Levi & Carolyn had an entertaining read. Good characters. This was a new author, for me. I got a copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
