Once again, my world has flipped upside down. I’m not as alone in this world as I thought. The birthmark on my neck matches four guys’ that couldn’t be more different, and it means we’re destined for each other.
The choice I thought I had was ripped away from me with one call. I can’t leave Drexel Academy. It’s not safe for me, or the others that share my bondmark.
We can’t run, but we can’t let anyone else at the school know our truth. Being a hybrid has put a target on my back since I was born, and now I know I’m not the only one. Things are no longer as simple as flying under the radar and learning to control my magic.
The only way to keep us all safe is to perform the bond with four supernaturals I barely know and keep them from tearing each other apart.
Fans of Meg Xuemei X and & G. Bailey will love this slow-burn reverse harem series.

Honestly I was in between with this series. I wanted to like it because it had its moments but also got frustrated with the MC A LOT. I get that everything is a bit overwhelming but the constant self doubt, or if a single thing didn’t work out she would go full on I can’t do anything. I want to be supportive but the MC at times is her biggest enemy. Then the guys well I didn’t feel any real connection at all maybe it was just for me. The only somewhat of a connection was with Niall and that was also a mess: There was a scene that had me feeling weird about this connection between the five .. so during the never had I ever the MC mentions something along the lines of “never have I ever had d*rty thoughts of Hannah” and all her guys drink. To me that was just weird right? Then she acts like it’s completely normal. The girl is constantly in a state of worry and never sure of anything and then your guys say that and you are oh yeah completely normal. Nah maybe I’m dramatic plus this whole connection supposed to be like soulmates but they get like that with someone else ? Maybe I’m comparing it to other connections but it just felt off.
Lastly this series it’s supposed to be RH but when they talk about the bonds they mentioned them as a circle instead of a nucleus and then the five points. Which to me it made the most sense for her to be the center and then have connections since that’s what a RH is but nope. So I didn’t give it enough importance but it seems they are hinting to a possible relationship with the guys. Which fine whatever but at this point of the series ? And then no disclaimers at all? I read everything the synopsis, the good reads synopsis, the authors note etc of each book and NADA about a possible multiple relationships. I had to go to some reviews and someone mentions that they picked up the hints of the possible relationship so yeah I’m giving up.

**Warning! Cliffhanger!** this is a pretty big one! Saige and her guys have to figure out their relationship, while dealing with their magical abilities and plots that might get them killed!
The series continues, with this quick read. Some romantic developments, a few portents, and some rather huge deals! It makes for an exciting addition to the series, which fans of YA Academy and RH romance will enjoy.
Trying to continue with series, but it’s getting tough. The story is great! Great concept, great characters. But my goodness, Saige’s whininess and immaturity are hard to sit through. I understand she is 17 and sheltered, but half the book is about her. Her inability to adapt. Her inability to connect with her bonds. Her refusal to have a relationship with them. I want to skip ahead to the action, but feel like I’ll miss something. With there were more chapters from the guys points of view. I like strong female leads, snarky females. I like Hannah as a lead more than Saige. Her meltdowns. Her hiding in her room and shutting the world out… ALL the time. She’s 17, but it’s a bit much whining. “They’re not my family… they’re not my home”, whah whah. I didn’t review the first two books, but felt the urge to say something as the review option popped up on my screen. This little girl is getting annoying. But I LOVE Niall!! He’s the absolute best!
SYNOPSIS (of 6 Book Series): This story is set in the modern world but where humans do not know that supernaturals exist. The FC, Saige, discovers that she is a witch/shifter hybrid whose birth parents were killed when she was young and she was brought up by the human best friends. The world is governed by a Council who are anti hybrids. 17 years ago many hybrids and mixed couples were killed and that is starting up again. The FC is sent to Drexel Academy to learn to control her powers but must hide that she is a hybrid. There she meets her 4 bond mates. The story covers the development of their relationship and the rising danger of the Council seeking to kill/control supernaturals that are different or in mixed relationships. There's a HEA
Heat Level: 🌶️🥶/🍆 This is very slow burn. The FC only just kisses 2 of the 4 MCs by 75% into Book 3. No real sex happens until Book 6 although there is a bit of fooling around in Book 4. It’s as if the FC is 12 and was raised in a convent with her apparent lack of understanding of sex 🫣 The sex scenes are often one way with the MCs doing things to the FC but without her reciprocating or initiating and it is cringeworthy when they have to talk her through exactly what to do. It all feels too juvenile. Chemistry between the FC and MCs is not high. There’s a bit more with Niall but it’s not exactly steamy and the writing felt clunky not hot.
As a summary this series is too long, has a ridiculous amount of typos and editing issues, is limited in any excitement or drama, with a whiny complaining FC that really gets on your nerves and, after plowing through 6 Books, the ending is a massive let down 😡. Outside of the torture descriptions I think this series is aimed at a young audience.
As for the sex scenes, the FC makes a big issue of not being ready to bond with the MCs and not wanting to jump into sex then gets bent out of shape when none of her Bonds make a pass at her after the bonding 🙄 There’s even a whole scene where Hannah has a go at the MCs for NOT hooking up with the FC which is childish and unfair. The chemistry is weak and I never really felt any deep connection between the FC and any of the MCs. As with other books of this kind it was hard to see what the MCs saw in the FC outside of the enforced bond. The MCs themselves didn't really seem to get along and the whole Bond felt fragmented and never really seemed to come together as a cohesive group.
By Book 3 we’ve had 1 short lived dramatic/exciting scene. There is a cliffhanger of sorts at the end of Books 4 & 5 but they are low level. The last half of Book 3 & first half of Book 4 are like Groundhog Day. They’re full of the FC whining about being alone and no one focusing on the bond and about how the group is fragmented. Noone really seems to be bothered about being a unit. It’s interspersed by some cringy descriptions of the FC being introduced to sex (but not full sex). I almost gave up at the end of Book 3 and wish I had. As these were KU I decided to skim and see if things picked up much. They didn't really. There's a bit of excitement at the end of Book 5 but the story just drags interminably and the characters become progressively more annoying. Book 6 is taken up with a ridiculous merry-go-round of the FC wanting to storm in and attack the Council's stronghold and the resistance doing nothing.
The whole story is superficial. You never really get to know the villains as they are mostly just an amorphous Council. There is a brief introduction of an evil council member in Book 4 and then nothing until Book 6 which goes overboard with showing how evil the Council are.
Ultimately Book 6 did not really make sense to me. The resistance seemed to do nothing to fight back and even invited one of the Council to their uber secret hideout. By the time the climax came I really did not see the point of the FC and her Bonds. With the training that they did I expected them to do something to save people and take down the Council. It turns out that they were completely redundant and actually just got themselves into trouble. ***SPOILER***The author appears to try to create real drama by having the FC & her Bonds walk into an obvious trap where, despite all their training and strength they are easily captured and then the Book goes into detail about how each is then tortured horribly. There is a big scene where we can see how evil the Council Members are (its all very Mwah-ha-ha and OTT) when they come to look at their handywork. The Council is then taken down by an attack by the shifter pack and some of the resistance although it is unclear who exactly it was and how they took down the stronghold which appeared to not be very strong. Neither the FC nor her Bonds help to take down the stronghold and in fact have to be rescued. There was no reference to the FC being betrayed or to what happened to the evil doctors undertaking the experiments or why the resistance was so ineffectual. As I mention above, you only get a brief reference to the fact that the Council Members are put on trial and executed a while after the fact. Its ridiculously anti climactic despite there being a long epilogue which, to me, again made no sense as it tells us how the FC and her Bonds go to Alaska and build cabins. Really? What's that about??
I think this book needs a plot line review. I swear this book goes from “hey this is okay!” To “oh my god we have to hide this.” It’s a good book don’t get me wrong it’s just sorta meh. I know you need books to explain things and fill in holes but this book just is straight up filler. It doesn’t progress the character development except for Saige and spoiler alert it only happens after she wakes up from a 9 day coma and can suddenly do all the things she has been struggling with.
That being said I enjoyed some parts. Like the guys point of view and them willing to do anything to save Saige. Also really enjoyed the sneak peak into the mm relationship. I understand slow burn don’t get me wrong but maybe a little bit more heat. I feel like all these relationships are just kissing friends and not your my soul mate. I loved the passion and heat in the scenes with others, and the feelings of falling in love with other scenes. Yet that ending I wanted to scream at because at this point Im super annoyed with Saige and her guys for back tracking so much and for them to not have filling connected.
There isn't much to say about this book. The group had their bonding ceremony and now live together. A couple of things happened, one of which resulted in the guys having their own POV chapters for a little bit, which was nice. I usually only read books with multiple POV. However, I've still been enjoying this one, all the same.
The only thing I really have to point out was a part that didn't make sense in the book, a spot that I'm assuming the author just missed.
Without giving spoilers, Theo put a concealment spell over himself and two of the guys at one point. Within a couple of sentences of this, he asked a question to the person he was hiding from. Then, one of the guys quietly asks if the person they were hiding from would not suspect something was up with "all four of them" in the room... but they're supposed to be hidden, so the person shouldn't know at all. Then, at the end of this specific scene, it's like the guy they're hiding from isn't aware of them again. It's just inconsistent.
Besides the odd inconsistency and such, I'm still enjoying this series for the most part!
I'm calling it quits sadly. I honestly love the plot line and am so intrigued by the magic and powers which i think is what had mostly kept me going with this series. But its just too slow burn for me also i think its YA which i didn't realize going in. I'm not against YA just not what i usually read. Saige is driving me absolutely nuts i understand that all of this is new but she is already bonded to all the guys and is still kinda keeping them at arms length i cant do it anymore girly pop just enjoy your man candy damn! Also i was hoping since it was slow burn we would eventually get the mens povs i cannot read RH where its only 1 pov how do you have 5 main characters and only give one person a pov i don't feel like i can really get to properly know everyone if i never get to read whats going on in their heads too
Anyways I wont be continuing i love the plot line but the single pov and extremely slow burn is just too much for me If those things don't bother you i would recommend this series 🥰
One hell of a way to make us get to know the guys better. The majority of magic is in how much the author is milking this storyline, saying a whole bunch, without much of anything actually happening. Goodness gracious. It was all very anticlimactic as well.
I was hoping there would eventually be at least some spice, but even a kiss seemed a bit jarring in this vanilla little world. They just don’t seem like sexual beings. Like family friends or acquaintances, who are smooth down there, like dolls, as far as I’m concerned.
And I know they’re in their late teens, but man do they act like children. Storming off in every emotional moment that they’re at fault for provoking within themselves and each other.
She’s suddenly yet casually adept at magic.
Her ‘upsetting’ visions don’t even trigger the same sentiment at this point. They only happen every time they’re all touching, so I don’t need to be a psychic to foresee there won’t be any group stuff in their future.
Whatever. I just wish it would go ahead and get to wherever all this filler is building.
Okay so they had their ceremony and moved into the apartment. Boom! She was cursed and was in a coma for 9 days. At first I thought it was Natasha but that was too obvious and she helped the guys break it. Niall is to sweet when he wants to be. They all have rocky relationships and need to get to know each other and rely on each other but it’s hard, for some more than others. She keeps having visions of Theo being tortured and dying. So that’s not good. She also almost shifted into her wolf form. Then on top of all that the council has come to the campus. There are so many secrets and lies, who cursed her and why? I’m dying to know! Is it because of who her parents were? Because of the bond? Or because of her and her abilities?

I liked this book. The pace kept the story moving along. I’m glad that she wasn’t cursed for the whole book. I loved the multi pov during that period, it just opened up the book in a completely new direction and then when she was awake it went back into the fmc pov. I’m not a huge fan of how slow their relationship is working. Tons of miscommunication, repeating the same things over and over again that open communication was needed in the group of them. It got old. The whole I’m barely at kissing stage seems a bit off too, it feels like since their now magically bonded they would be further into their relationships. Also, Sai never mentioned he was interested in others to anyone and the fmc eludes to this near the end. Otherwise I thought the book was good.
The plot thickens in this book, however it’s more of the same as well. I don’t think I have ever not liked a fmc as much as this one. She is self centers, whinny, and annoying, at least to me. The guys are not much better, so it’s around, and around we go. I’m too invested in this series already though and I’m not giving up hope the characters come out a little better, I think the issues is frustration that they can’t get it together and it’s being drawn out to make the series that much longer. Zero sexy times, like Nadia, unless you count a kiss as that and if so, it says a lot. Anyways this book we get to see a little more in the guys pov, which is nice.
I'm sort of enjoying the series and the whole concept behind the story, but I feel like there is so much distance between the FMC and her bond-mates. It doesn't feel like any of their connections have progressed (except maybe Niall) and we're not really learning more about each guy. There is a lot of self-doubt across the board which can definitely play into things, but I would expect them to be further along in this relationship personally. It also feels like if there was any kind of communication happening this wouldn't be an issue.
Also, there are some editing issues like spelling or grammar that have been somewhat distracting, but not enough to de-rail the series. For example, within 10 pages I've seen Ms Chronis and Mrs Chronis. Not huge but definitely changes a ton.
My hope is we really start to see things progress with the bond along with the overall story regarding the council and mixed species relationships.
My my... I'm having trouble getting these books out of my head. I love the story and its characters, but I'd really love for Saige to let herself love her guys. Because sometimes it feels like she doesn't want them or care about them. I think it's time for them to move forward with their relationship. With that being said, I have to say that it's been a while since I loved a series like this. Now the wait for the next book is going to suck 💖

As I mentioned in all my other reviews I’m not meshing well with the interactions between the Mc and the guys. Definitely like the guys more but there is bearly any chemistry and just non stop self doubt from the MC. I think I’m going to give up on the series and end it here since book 4 isn’t out yet. But the ending is pretty interesting and almost makes me want to read it.
I just don’t like this story anymore. Their relationships with each other gave me reader’s anxiety. The first book started off good, book 2 started to fall off but I gave the third a try anyway. I wish I didn’t. It’s become taxing to read this book and I do not like where I see it going. Might all tie together nicely at the end but I’m not going to read to find out.
And it had to happen. This one covers the bond, how the five interact and their issues. It’s a hump book - necessary for the storyline - bit like Wednesday…necessary to get to the weekend.
In places a bit long winded and soooooo much internal monologue but I skim read those parts and moved on. Still a great series and hopefully now it’ll start to get interesting again. 4 stars. Recommend.
If you like long awaited romance and missed connections then this is the book for you , I’m fully invested at this point but dang 3 books in and still no action. How can 5 guys and their fated mate get 3 books in and barely have touched. The anticipation is killing me
I don't have words. I forgot how to breathe during the last few chapters. Every time I think this series couldn't get better, something proves me wrong. I can't wait for the next one. Until then, I'll just have to read the first 3 books again.
This series has me so conflicted. On one hand, I really like the story and the world created within it. On the other hand, I don't like the FMC and that kind of ruins the whole thing for me. Now that I am 3 books in and invested, it's a series I have to finish.
I think this may be the most realistic RH I've read. Even though the spice is low. It's exciting and feels real with his the guys at and how she feels. But really want more spice.
Seized by Magic, the third book of the Drexel Academy series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). The series has gone off on a new, interesting tangent. This may be the most tension-filled installment so far, I'm loving the action.
Amazing! This has been my favorite so far! Loved watching Saige and her guys learn about each other and their bond! The characters are def evolving since the first book. I’m really enjoying this series! Starting the next because of course cliffhanger.

They're trying to connect but not hard enough. They're trying to change things when something happens but they always come full circle and they get nowhere. It's the third book shouldn't be a little progress?
Awesome paet to an interesting series. Saige is honestly not a favorite of mine... she comes off emotionally stunted at like 12 which is uncomfortable to read.
