Quinton Morales no longer feared hunger or leaky roofs or collection agents. He fought those demons and, with hard work, won his independence from his shadowy past. Self-made millionaire before the age of 30. Beautiful woman on his arm. Good friends. Security. Most would say he had it made. Most would think he was happy. Most would be wrong.
For Jordan Phillips, life became predictable. It wasn’t bad, just, well, predictable. Then her father almost died. Life changed in a blink of an eye. A wake-up call that forced her to make those changes she wanted, needed. Stepping out of her comfort zone should be easy, right?
At similar crossroads, Jordan and Quinton must decide if lines should be crossed and boundaries erased as they navigate life in Arrowheart.
"Hello,I'm a self-proclaimed read-a-holic. I love most genres and would rather read than do most things. Stands to reason, that I'd have this inexplicable love affair with the written word!
Reading was the balm that soothed me during tough times as a single mother, working two jobs. As things leveled out, I found I enjoyed the places books took me, there was a certain solace learning about various times and cultures. When I began traveling, many of the places I visited felt like old friends. I could envision the characters from the books walking the cobbled streets, or running along the swift moving streams.
After twenty years of reading and collecting my favorite authors, I decided to indulge my passion for storytelling. I took classes, invested in seminars and sat nervously across the table from editors. It was a lengthy process, Finally, I got the courage to allow the market to judge my work. The market can be a brutal, but I think fair, mistress. Hard work is rewarded and appreciated. Slackers don't stand a chance. :-)."
Family is who you choose that loved you and had your back. Max and Quinton had that bond. Both of the men had very difficult childhoods together, stemming from their fathers not being in their lives. They worked hard to have a very successful business. Quinton only had friends with benefits and this last one appears to want more. When Jordan was hired to work for the construction company, he knew she was different. They could talk to each other about work effortlessly and he appreciated Jordan' Knowledge.
Max, wanted closure with his bio dad. Quinton did not care about his absent parents. He was forced to confront his anxiety when new information and family came forth in his life. He had Jordan to help ease his mind.
I liked Mabel and Momma Ree. They are both outspoken and forthcoming with their opinions.
This part one book ended in somewhat of a cliffhanger. Que gets family closure but Max is left hanging at the end. Thank goodness I have all of the books in the series so I can keep reading and find out about Max's family tree adventure
You can’t help loving Quinton… swoon worthy! I seriously don’t know what to say, most of the characters in this book are awesome, well I don’t care much for Sandra. Mama Rea, wow! what a woman! I see her with Alistair 😉 She raised two amazing men, doesn’t mince words, no BS … love her! Mabel and Thomas … 🙌🙌 I hope Phillipe will be around, bc I kind of like him. Jordan and Quinton are perfect together, they get each other, she is the yin’s to his yang!! Great read! Max here I come!
I love how Quinton was honest and told Jordan everything. I love how they fell in love. Leo was a funny stalker. I love Quinton's new found family. I am sorry his mother didn't recognize him, but he has Mama Rea. There was a lot that could have been left out. It would have made it two hours shorter. I love Quinton and Jordan together. Her dad and Mabel were awesome together. I love the way the guys treated her and respected her work. Good book.
This was an excellent read! It has been a while since reading something by this author and this was an excellent way to become reacquainted with her work. “Brothers” Quinton and Max have a business that they have strived to make successful. Arrowheart is a unique setting for disabled veterans. It allows them to comfortably live independently. Jordan, a woman in a male dominated field, is the key to healing Quintons soul amidst sudden life changes.
Always happy to read an Erosa Knowles book. This was a good book. All the characters were interesting though I did not I understand why Sandra behaved as she did. I got why Leo acted as he did because right from the start he seemed off. Loved Mabel. Loved Vicky and uncle Bobby and hoped they can resolve their relationship. Absolutely loved Max and Mama Ree. Can't wait to reAd Max's story.
I really enjoyed it once I was able to get in the groove of the story. I loved the chemistry between Quinton and Jordan. Loved that the characters had a story line as well and they were interesting. There was a mixof things going on that made you want to keep reading. I highly recommend this book to my fellow romance readers you will not be disappointed. Looking forward to reading Max's story!
This was an extremely wordy book. I didn’t read any romance, but I read an extreme amount about job sites and what it takes to work on one. It had little of everything…BSDM, light stalker but very little romance. I gave it two stars because the writing brought the work sites to life. It’s always nice to learn something new.
I love this book. The characters were well developed. Looking forward to see the sequel Que and Max really had each other backs. Brothers in unity. Jordan is a strong and independent woman . Not a damsel in distress which I noticed that some of the authors continued to depict of black women
Darn! I’m glad there’s a second book because this story lacked conclusion on Jordan and Quinton, Quinton’s dad and grandfather, basically all the characters. A great book as the reader felt and dealt with every heartache, happiness, it was a great feeling to be so connected with the characters.
This book had a natural progression. When the story starts, welder and budding electrician Jordan is between jobs. Her father has set her up for an interview with a company run by Max and Quentin. Once on the job she and Quentin hit it off. Quentin has complex family ties. Great characters and heart felt narrative. Looking forward to reading Max’s story.
It's been a minute since I've read a book from Mrs. Knowles; but she's still got it. Characters were interesting and the story flowed well. I have a few books by her; but it turns it out that "The Seed Trilogy" is my favorite. Can't wait to get into Max's story.
I loved reading this book because it kept my interest. The storyline and characters are great. I definitely would recommend this book to friends and family. The 5 stars was for a great storyline.
One of the first IT Books I read was written by this author. It was phenomenal, gripping, thought provoking but never bland. This was not her best work. Not even her amost-best. What happened to the 3X-Cons Construction author?
The ending was extremely abrupt. Like I couldn't believe the way it just came to a halt otherwise the book is good. It's not as good as the second installment. There's way more drama & intrigue in max and Reyna story.
Enduring saga of twists and turns that unearth long forgotten secrets and tragedies. Sex and love meet and separate in this urban constructed landscape.
