Savage Hearts #2

Savage Gods

Rate this book
I would forever be grateful that Silas Huxley, Damon Brooks, and Jude Vanderbilt saved me from my own broken darkness.

They were there to catch me–as friends, and now as roommates and lovers. Three enigmatic, brutal gods who would do anything for me– even kill .

Because someone connected to Silas is planning our demise–someone with a past that doesn’t want to be found.

Despite this, I know the guys will keep me safe. After all, I belong to them now.

I’m confident the four of us can withstand anything.

Until Jude disappears.

And I’ll rot in hell before I let anyone hurt him.

Welcome to the dark side of Savage Ink, motherf*ckers.

Savage Gods (Savage Hearts Book Two) is a spinoff of the Ruthless Royals duet, which does not have to be read first. It is a full-length enemies-to-lovers/bully reverse harem romance, and while it doesn’t end with a true cliffhanger, there will be unanswered questions. It is advised to read the series in order. Please note Savage Gods contains explicit language, violence, guns, assault, cult-like scenarios, and kidnapping. The series will have a HEA.

I feel like this author had a lot of things they wanted to write about that they didn’t know how to execute. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t what it was trying to be.

The sex doesn’t always work logistically, especially without any proper foreplay/preparation in some very necessary cases.

There is also an introduction to M/M in this book and while I appreciated the additional dynamic, it definitely felt lopsided. Sure you can have a why choose romance where the men aren’t romantically involved with each other, but it felt odd to establish physical intimacy and establish how much they care about each other but then not develop that relationship outside of the FMC.

I don’t know how I feel about the dynamic of them just being regular people in over their head trying to take down a cult with no connections or resources. On one had I appreciate the realistic nature of their situation, on the other hand not much else is approached with any realism so it’s a bit odd to me.

Another 5⭐️ read by Amanda Richardson where she ties me up in a tangle in Greythorn, MA with a beaten but not broken, feisty and strong willed Lennon and three men who are willing to put their lives on the line for her. Savage Gods continues right where Savage Hate left us and continues to surprise us with more revelations and truths. We learn more about the ugliness that has been hiding behind the town’s quaint facade. There were some emotional moments in the book that I had to swipe a few tears at some point. I think you’ll know what I’m talking about when you get there. Now, we just have to sit and wait patiently for the third installment to come out so we can have the closure we need.

i'm telling you, the breakneck pace at which this author moves through things??! baby girl BARELY knows these guys and is already living with them -- which i'll allow bc alpha male bullsh!t and she's in danger -- but then she starts inner monologuing about MARRIAGE AND BABIES. they've not even seen a real test in their relationship, but she's allllll in i guess.

idk man, you don't just jump into a polyamorous relationship and have everything work perfectly and have no arguments or misunderstandings. i think this series has the potential to be a decent RH, but so many developments keep happening off the page and then it's like BAM we're here and it's the climactic ending!! it just feels like there's a looooooot of detail and plot missing, and because of that, i don't actually know enough about any of the 4 MCs to actually care about them or really root for their relationship. like i said, i think the skeleton for a decent book is there, but it needs a lot more fleshing out.

also i'm sorry, but them saying they've been loving her and thinking about marriage and babies since day one of her walking into the shop??? absolutely not.

🖤🖤

Book one was an introduction to this series but this book is all about exploring the relationships that is forming between Lennon and her men. I enjoyed the pace of the story and how Lennon is getting to know each of the guy’s past. Questions from book one regarding the cult like church are answered but the way the story ended, there is still more questions that need to be answered. Can’t wait for the 3rd book.

I’m so emotional and I’m still processing. But I’m so happy the third book is already out for me to read next. Cause book 2 ending was a cliffhanger.

This books picks up right where book 1 left off. We get to see a little more of the dynamic between the characters and a bit of development and growth. I still have some questions but I’m hoping they will be answered in book 3!
The spice in this one was upped a bit as well

2.75⭐

I honestly think I'm continuing this series because I am committed at this point and don't want to commit to something else. The story line and characters are really weak and sure the guys are hot and the smut is better in this book but it's still not great.

Anyway, moving on to book 3 now

The dedication in book one is ‘To my smut Lovers… If you think this one is steamy, wait until book two.’ Boy was this right

The spicyness in book one only started towards the end so you don’t get a full on feel for it. This book give it to you from the start! It was so worth the wait.

We get to see the relationship between Lennon and the boys develop further in this book. I love their relationship. I also love how we see Lennon’s relationships with Briar and Lola develop as she realises what true friend are meant to be.

As much as the boys want to protect her, we learn in this book that if you mess with any of the boys, Lennon will come for you as she is going to protect them just as much as they do her.

After everything that happens in this book, I am so excited for the third book that comes out later this year as it left quite a few things left open that I can’t wait to see what happens

2.5 stars, rounded up for Goodreads.

Again, I felt like this book really fell short. I think at this point I'm just going to finish the story .. but it's pretty obvious how it is going to end. This also could've been released as a 400 pg book instead of 3 novellas.

Lennon is also extremely annoying, and I feel like Damon is a neglected character. There is nothing badass about Lennon, and she definitely isn't a heroine.

Religious Petty Revenge Schemes

This was a step up from book one but I am just not a fan of the petty revenge scheming that isn’t really being done well.

There is not enough focus on the plots of the book and too much happens in the end with no build up that it just lacks any real depth or feeling.

Savage Gods (ARC)
[4⭐️] [5/5🌶]

Savage Gods is an enemies > lovers Reverse Harem. This is book two so they are no longer enemies, but just lovers. In this book we get to see more of the mystery unfold, and watch their intimate moments as a new polyamourous relationship!

This book was much faster paced than Savage Hate (book 1), which I enjoyed. It was a rollercoaster of emotions to go from the cross scene in the beginning (*wink*) to the cross scene in the end (*sobs*). It was super easy to follow even though it was moving so fast! I honestly am loving the plot that continues to unfold between Lennon and the boys and the Church of Rapture.

PLOT TWIST… idk if you guys predicted it, I honestly did NOT. I loved the end of Savage Gods, and it had me shocked… which is exactly what I was hoping for after Savage Hate. I loved the raw emotion that the plot twist brought out of all of the characters, not just Lennon. The last chapter in Liam’s POV has me aching for the third book, which I will begin promptly after this review ;).

The development of the relationship was maybe my favorite part of this whole book. I loved the integration of Briar and her boys. I think it was good for Lennon to see the dynamic outside of her own relationship so that she understands that she CAN have a future with her boys. I also loved the glimpse into Briar being a mom :) The fact that Lennon has truly opened up her heart to the boys makes this book 10x’s better. Especially the last chapter where they all just take care of each other… super intimate and super cute, but don’t worry, still super SMUTTY.

The smut again KILLED IT. Even better than book #1. The cross scene with Jude at the beginning? AMAZING. Seriously this book could have no plot and I would simply read for the smut that it is giving. I love how the men are also intimate with each other… a lot of RH's are just there for the women and do not allow vulnerability between the men as well. It was nice to see everyone be able to be vulnerable with EVERYONE.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would 100% recommend it to readers who love Reverse Harem and a suspenseful plot. It does end on a cliffhanger that will be resolved in book #3 (Savage Reign).

“Watch him as I fuck him, Lennon. Feel how hard he comes inside of you because of it.”

Book Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This whole series is binge-worthy! It’s complete, so one might jump directly from the mild cliffhanger of the current read to the beginning of the next. I loved the combination of romantic suspense and HIGH levels of smut. The MCs are involved in a true poly relationship, with the MMCs exploring their connections outside their decades-long friendships in addition to their relationships with the FMCs.

It's a high drama read with the overwhelming threat from a religious cult as the MCs attempt to unravel its lies. The story grips you, and the spice makes your heart race.

It’s incredibly fast burn and very high spice, including extensive smutty scenes of the MF, MM, and MMF+ variety, and improper use of a religious relic. There is a very high smut/plot ratio.

I can't wait to complete my series read!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: Dark Romance/ Reverse Harem
Spice: Yes 🥵
Series: Savage Hearts, book 2

Thoughts - well book 2 really steps it up 😂🫠 yes please ! You really get a sense of their relationship now which I loved. The story evolves in them establishing their relationship and what that looks like. There’s definitely more than one spicy moment 😂 special mention to the MM, MMF spice. It really cemented the love the guys have for one another at those points in the story for me. They have lived through so much and would only have each other. I’m rambling but it was obvious unconditional love for me 🥰🥰 also for the mum chat at lunch, it just felt real which I really enjoyed. Definitely read book 1 and jumpy strait into this one!

Plot - together they stand, united they get vengeance, and they’re playing the long game with it. Secure in their poly relationship they return to the original plan of taking down the Church of Rapture. Everything was going to plan until suddenly Jude doesn’t come home.

* ⚠️Trigger warnings
* Touch her and die vibes
* MMMF, MF, MM
* Vengeance
* Cults/ secret society
* Tattoos/ piercings

As soon as i reached the end of Savage Hate I couldn't wait for more of the Savage Hearts world! I started counting down the days until i could dive back in with this second installment. I picked it up right away and was pulled right back in. I so enjoyed it!

Lennon, Silas, Damon, and Jude's journey continues! I was so glad to jump back into their story. I wasn't sure what all was going to happen next with these four and i loved how that kept me even more glued to my kindle. The heat between these characters was all kinds of blushworthy goodness!

I didn't want to turn away from this story!

With Savage Gods, Ms.Richardson has created such a good and unique continuation! I so can't wait to get more of these characters! I'll be counting down the days until May gets here and i can dive into the third installment, Savage Reign!

SPICY SPICY SPICY!

Lennon is trying to find her place in this new relationship. She is afraid to get too comfortable with them and with her evolving life because she's not sure if she wants to stay in Greythorn. The development of their dynamic and relationship is sweet and you can't help but fall in love with each of them.

With the ongoing plan to infiltrate the Church of the Rapture, which she is not in agreement with, she goes along with it because she knows this is something the guys must do. Not only for themselves, but to protect her as well. Along the way, there are dates (HOT HOT HOT) and their day to day life which also has some steamy scenes. As soon as they realize Jude is missing, they (mainly Lennon) spring into action to find him. Will they find him? Will Lennon find her place in Greythorn and make it home for good?

Can't wait to get the final answers we need in book 3!!

I loved that this finally tied us back in with the Ruthless Royals series, reminding us of what happened with Jenson and the cave and then everything with Samuel.

Speaking of Samuel…. I was not expecting that at all!!

This got very insta lovey very quickly, not necessarily a bad thing, I just prefer a little more back and forth, a little more tension 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bro really got nailed to the cross, literally. this book as really turned into a story about the bible or some shit.

It’s cute though- — they’re gonna get married and be all happy and cute and loved so i love that for them.

The weird follower is pissed though so that’s fun, happy that’s not me.

While book one was an introduction to the story, book two is all about exploring the relationship that it’s forming between the four of them and a lot of sex (and you won’t hear me complain about it lol). Most of the action happened in the last half of the book and the ending left everything ready for the third and last book of Savage Hearts. I enjoyed the pace and how she is getting to know more about the guys and their pasts. I read it so fast and it even made me cry at one point (you’ll know what I’m talking about). I’m excited to see how everything ends!

Still good but honestly the first was way better. I'm glad to see poly relationships get portrayed in a (somewhat) healthy way.

Weirdly this book felt like a fanfic of the first. Which doesn't have to be a bad thing. Its just something that I noticed

These three books are all the same characters but just stretched out into three books. But they're a little shorter than normal each one is around 200 pages. But i'm not sure if this really needed to be three books. If feels like there so much about each one of them that they didn't go in depth about and it confused me. Lennon talks about eating out of the trash one time but why the fuck is this rich ass girl eating out of the trash?? Even if her parents aren't home and are leaving her she talked about the nannies and house keepers and everyone else around her they couldn't have hired a chef or she couldn't have ordered food? It made no sense to me at all. Also how quickly they all got over their troubles to love Lennon was a little weird to me. Also for the first book it was really hard for me to tell each one of the guys apart because their stories were so similar. I wish there were more scenes with the men together I would have loved to know more about their dynamic. There was literally only like two scenarios of them interacting

Surprising twist I definitely didn't expect

One thing I have enjoyed most with this series is that while we have cliffhangers, they are merely leading into the next arc of the story. Both book 1 and 2 have been dedicated to one arc of the story. Nothing has been drug out unnecessarily and it has flowed exceptionally well (a refreshing change from some series I've read recently that have so much unnecessary filler and an extremely slow pace). Excited to read the next part of the story.
