As someone that’s lived with debilitating emetophobia for as long as they can remember, I wish I could rate this book even higher. The authors brought so much new insight to me about the phobia despite my over decade of trying new therapists/techniques. I felt understood, informed and most importantly challenged while reading this book. It’s brought to my attention the importance of stopping the safety seeking habits I use, and accountability from loved ones. It’s also the first time exposure therapy has been brought up where I’m genuinely considering it (for me under the supervision of a therapist will feel safest) as this has seemed too scary in the past. I can’t recommend this book enough to anyone else struggling with emetophobia and am feeling very hopeful for working toward living a fuller life.
