A legacy to fulfill. A long-hidden secret. A shocking climax to the trilogy that began with Temple Secrets and Gullah Secrets.
Although Old Sally has been gone a year, Violet still hasn't gotten over the loss of her beloved grandmother, with whom she shared the connection of the ancient Gullah magic. Mired in grief despite her thriving tea shop in downtown Savannah, what Violet wants more than anything is to hear from her grandmother—especially when her Gullah intuition indicates a storm is brewing.
Does it have something to do with the strange couple Queenie keeps spotting in the dunes? Or Iris's diary that Rose discovered hidden in the family bank vault, revealing a side of her aloof and aristocratic mother that she never knew?
But Old Sally remains silent as shocking secrets are revealed that will turn the lives of the Temple women upside down.
Now everything that Violet holds dear is threatened...unless she's brave enough to answer the call of her ancestors.
The ghosts of the past are laid to rest once and for all in the amazing finale of the bestselling Temple Secrets series, where Southern gothic mystery meets a heartwarming cast of unforgettable independent women in one immensely satisfying story of fate, family, and friendship.

I have read all of your books and I have fell I'm love with this family in this trilogy! I have been interested in Full an ways and Old Sally is such a wonderful character and in my mind I am right there with everyone! Please say there will be more! Love this author!
It was a wonderful treat to revisit all the lovely people we met in book one & two! Susan Gabriel has an amazing talent pulling the reader into the story, seeing, feeling everything the protagonist is experiencing, and setting scenes that I have caught myself telling my dogs that we can't go outside because of the thunderstorm... that was just happening on the pages in front of me 😅💕
Susan Gabriel’s novels are worth waiting to read. I was afraid I’d not get the characters straight since it been months since I finished the second part of the trilogy. It all came back and I was happy see Old Sally reappear in the pages. Iris, Rose, Violet and all the characters will remain in my heart. They feel like family and/or friends. Do yourself a huge favor and delve into Susan’s books. You won’t be disappointed. Oh yes, I didn’t tell you much about the trilogy. Guess you’ll learn about this family for yourself. 😊
3 1/2 stars. I enjoyed this as much as the first two books in this trilogy. The characters are what make the story. Queenie, Violet and Rose are special women. Old Sally has passed but still figures prominently in this mash-up of Gullah culture and Savannah aristocracy. Oh, how I would love to have an Old Sally in my life! Unfortunately, the story is pretty predictable and the family relationships have become a bit unbelievable. None the less, this is a fun summer read! Now I want to have my tea leaves read!
The story is good. I kept reading because I wanted the resolution. The surprises weren’t. The dialogue of the characters many chapters before gave them away.
And, realizing I’m part of a minority here, I just don’t think it’s well written. The tense used and the sentence structure halted the flow. And scenes were descriptive of things that had been thoroughly described in earlier chapters. The same was true of the other books in the series.
Susan Gabriel weaves her storyline with such skill that I feel as though the characters are friends. I am afraid with them, I soul search right next to them, I cry with joy as they make new discoveries. Most of all, Susan brings the mysteries of Gullah traditions to life. What a heritage. It should not go unspoken.
This third book of The Temple Secrets, felt like a warm embrace at a time when I needed it the most. Going back and visiting with Old Sally, Queenie, Violet, Rose, and all the others gave me a sense of peace and love. Susan Gabriel writes about characters you fall in love with and cheer for them. I hope that this isn't the last book in the series. Thank you Susan!
A completely predictable conclusion to this trilogy, but it's not the destination, it's the journey. The journey in this case being Violet's passage through grief and coming into her acceptance of her gifts of Gullah secrets. I'm going to miss these characters. A feel good story and ending.
What an excellent ending to a wonderful trilogy. I enjoyed reading all three novels. Learning about the south and Gullah ways. Also how the elite treated their help. I loved most of the characters in the book. I highly recommend reading all three.
I couldn't wait to read this book. I loved everything about it, the continuation of the lovable characters, the beauty of Savannah and the Village ways, the old scenes and the growth of the characters from the other 2 books.
Cast of characters you can’t help but love continue to enthrall and inspire in this third book of the trilogy. Mystery, suspense and healing powers of love keep you deeply involved and glued to the book. Can’t wait for her next book!
The characters will turn into people you know and love and root for. The way she describes Savannah you'll almost smell the flowers. History and great story telling all come together to make it an amazing experience.
Rating is a 3.75. I enjoyed this third novel in the Temple Secrets Trilogy. Nice to re-connect with familiar characters. Interesting plot that mixes grief-hope-and( as always) unearthed secrets. And of course I easily relate to the gorgeous Savannah setting. Recommend it.
The final book in the series, book 3. Violet is the main character now. She’s learned as much as she could about the Gullah ways before her grandmother passed on. Now she’s tested and she has to put it all to use. Great ending to a powerful story!
