A massive sphere appears near Earth, defying all attempts to communicate or understand its purpose. Power outages plague key cities and military bases, causing wide spread panic and chaos. Only the Space Agency seems to have a grasp on the situation but with all their combined resources, they’re baffled.
Captain Warren Miller races to join his colleagues in the Agency headquarters, hoping to convince his superiors to launch their latest space craft, the battlecruiser Leviathan, which may be able to defy this intruder. In the absence of communication, he hopes a little intimidation might bring about a conversation.
But then smaller objects descend upon the Earth, grabbing up people from all over the globe. Captain Miller never makes it back to base, forcing the Agency to scramble for a response. With the weight of an expectant world beating down on them and the alien threat looming above, they have no choice but to engage the enemy or simply witness history in the making.

Really poor use of English, wrong words used, horrible gratuitous at times, out of the blue too. Characters are flat and childish, no depth to anything. Very poor interactions between people and species. Lots of it makes, no sense, no explanations given. It just fizzles out and doesn't even bother no spoilers but the ending is so so childish and lazy. It's as if they'd reached some undefined word limit so accerated it all to literally nothing. I submitted a fair few helpful suggestions via, the app. Done this before with books but now this many, I gave up in the end.
Hold on to the chair THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE HECK OF A RIDE!!!!!!
Captain Warren Miller is front to get to his new command, Levithan, the world's first battle ship when a strange craft comes to Earth. Rushing to his base a bright light captures him right out of his car. This begins an EPIC story that never became boring or monotonous or worse retelling previous happenings I haven't been this engrossed in a series in along time. EXCELLENT story telling,, Well Done Mr. John Walker 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Propoer space opera in the fashion of Heinlein. Literally couldn't put it down!I The last book was marred by the mis-spellings and mis-punctuation, (not a lot but they grated like nails on a blackboard when I noticed them!). The proceeding books had them too, but they seemed more noticeable in the last for some reason. Despite the above, recommended.
Nothing beats a nice long series! With great character development and a good story line to back it up, it really sinks it's hooks into you! If you like sci-fi series with action, emotion, and suspenseful moments then I'd say this is your chance for a good time. If that isnt clear enough, then let me just say I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES
I want to see this as a movie! This version contained several typos but it was a great story, I hope Warren & Avenue got married &spent their lives together forever! There should be a sequel ! However, The author is amazing, and has more works of awesome stories to tell. You can count on it. A good by. A p!use !
The series flowed fairly well with only occasional grammar problems and incorrect word selection. It did seem to get worse in books 9 and 10. To the point of disrupting my reading flow to figure out what the author was intending to say. But it was an entertaining yarn overall.
No spoilers as usual. You do need to suspend belief a bit but not as much as some. Characters are actually likeable with some decent plot twists in the first few chapters.
Aliens, untried tech, tough marines and some suspense, just what space opera needs. I look forward to the next book.
Earth's attacked! Warren and Dexter are two survivors of the Collector ship which attempted to steal and kill thousands of humans. Warren and Dexter along with the others of humanity's first starship fight for earth's freedom!
I normally read books at the pace of two to three hrs every three or four days depending on my workload but this set of books grabbed enough of my attention that I finished the series in about eight days . John Walker you did it right.
The only reason I am not giving this series 5 stars is because the very end felt unfinished. The really interesting characters who featured all the way through do not get an ending, and the one character I could have cared less about does. Very annoying!
Author tells a good story with usual caveats that is science fiction. He doesn't try to justify what goes on with detaied technology. The only problem I had was the number of grammar and syntax errors. Spell check doesn't always work correctly.
Enjoyed this series but found it could have done with some thorough proofreading
Very pleasant to have a series with characters you either admire or detest. Very nice to the characters remain from book 1 to the end. Enjoyed the "space battles" as well.
This book will keep you up not wanting to put it done
This has to be one of my favorite books . I loved the characters, and felt like I was traveling with them on their adventure through the galaxy. If you are a s space opera fan this is the series for you!
Forgetting some minor grammatical and scientific errors, this is, by far, the BEST long series I've ever read! John brings his characters alive - slowly & carefully, and brings plot upon plot to life. The sci-fi action continues, but never forgets to conclude. WELL DONE!
No-one knew why people were apparently vaporized by orange globes but the giant globe between earth and the moon seemed to indicate that we are now in an interstellar war with a greater intellect than ours.
Mr Walker has provided many hours of diversion from reality with this series, and managed to do it without losing my interest at any point. Thanks for that.
A very detailed story that held attention most of the time. Chopped and changed between different plot lines a bit much at times but generally enjoyed the books.
Good story plan. Made me feel the action. Could actually see in my minds eye all that was going on. Some of the story reminded me of other books I recently read. But over all a very good read.
I love this story. I was saddened when Dexter dies at the end. The love story of the alien Queen was interesting. I would like to see more about after the war.
