Aurora is about to turn 18 and that’s when she will finally meet her wolf and hopefully find a mate. She lives with her step mom since both of her parents have passed. Her step mom signs her up for a catering job at the alpha’s house to celebrate his belated birthday. When the clock strikes midnight and it’s Aurora’s birthday she can sense her mate. Surprise, surprise it’s the birthday boy himself.
Wolfgang is the Alpha and just an arrogant prick who only cares about status. He thinks Aurora has nothing to offer him because she is a low omega. He treats her like crap because he just can’t seem to let her go and can’t admit he like a lower she wolf.
I really don’t get how Aurora has that low of self esteem and puts up with all that jerks abuse but it’s just part of the story.
This is actually my favourite "rejected mate" book series because of the actions the heroine takes. She has enough dignity to not throw herself on the mate that rejects her. Aurora makes logical decisions. "Sorries" are not enough for her. And although she is meek and kind, she is strong, has pride, and dignity. That is something that is not common in books today.
Although the story starts off slow, it turns dark as all hell... it really surprised me.
This is more of a fanfic than a novel but it's sold as an ebook.
I do find it odd that these shifters have wolves in their heads instead of simply being shifters. Rhea, Aurora's wolf, sometimes annoys me tremendously. How annoying would it be to have an annoying personality inside your head?
I'm curious to see how the author deals with transitioning Aurora from She obviously hasn't had Wolfgang's upbringing. Their experiences are significantly different. I don't think this can be ignored.
It sort of annoys me that But the story is worth reading, even if just because it's different from your typical rejection book.
The world-building needs some work. At first I wasn't very sure if the shifters are out in the open or if they're a secret but I was inclined towards out in the open.
Despite its shortcomings, this book did it for me. =)
This ebook consists of two books under the same title and another book called Hating my Mate. I read Hated by my Mate on the Galatea app, which is quite annoying. They only allow you to unlock a chapter every 6 hours. So you can buy the book on there or just wait like me to get it for free. You also have the option of unlocking the audiobook version the same way as the written version.
BEWARE!Hating my Mate is not yet available on Galatea...and it likely hasn't been written yet.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I couldn't continue with this book after reading 14 chapters. Aurora was being held against her will as the Alpha's maid because he refused to mate with her and she took his verbal abuse in return? Nope. I'll pass.
This book is only available on Galatea, where you can either pay a subscription fee, or wait at least 6 hours between each chapter.
This book had several grammatical and spelling errors throughout, and it got worse as the story went on.
There is one detailed sexual scene when the scumbag alpha seduces his mate. Usually in these kinds of stories the male and female leads are generally good individuals who sometimes make poor choices, but in this story there was absolutely nothing that I could like about the Alpha Wolfgang. He was arrogant, selfish, devious, malicious, deceitful, and just a complete jerk through the entire book. He never once did anything note worthy in a good way, and constantly mentally abused his mate. I kept waiting for him to do something great, although I honestly didn’t think there was any way he could make amends or redeem himself after he seduces Aurora.
Due to no control of their own Aurora and Wolfgang are mated through the Moon Goddess’s magic. They can’t stop their feelings, and the pull they have for each other, but Wolfgang is determined to fight it. That would be bad enough that he is basically rejecting his mate, and hurting her heart, but he takes it farther and forces her to become his slave, and he continually puts her down, and demeans her through the whole story. The poor girl has been bullied through her life, and has very low self-esteem. The character who is supposed to care for her, and love her the most, treats her like garbage the entire time.
I wish the poor girl Aurora had been given more strength, and been able to stick up for herself more, and not been put in a position to be treated like crap through the entire story. The only truly good male character who is willing to stick up for her, and has the highest moral ethics is considered a player at the very beginning of the novel, and he’s the Beta Max. The Gamma isn’t a bad male, but he also doesn’t push for the right, and ethical things to be done, he gently suggests and then leaves it alone. All the other living males in the novel are rude, horrible, and unfeeling, which was incredibly disappointing.
Aurora is a dear, and I also loved her stepmother Montana, and her best friend Emma. I was also grateful she made friends with Aspen while she was being mentally abused by her so called mate. I only wish Aspen, her mate the Gamma, and the Beta had been able to stick up for her more, and completely defy and or even over throw the dishonorable alpha and the crappy elders. Unfortunately it seemed their hands were tied and no one was really willing to stick up for right.
The ending was very rushed. At one point Aurora is in the hospital and the alpha decides to investigate who set her up, but the individual who did her a lot of damage is never brought to light, we know we did it, but the rest of the pack never find out. Then right after the alpha and beta leave the hospital to investigate, the saboteur shows up at the hospital and threatens Aurora again. Then suddenly there are rogue wolves who show up at the hospital to kidnap the alphas mate, although they don’t know it’s Aurora until she sacrifices herself. How do the rogue wolves even know to look at the hospital?Cause the Luna they are looking for should have been at the mansion, so was there a traitor in the pack? Why is the traitor never exposed? There is just so much not answered, and rushed at the end, that I felt it made the story incomplete, and not very cohesive.
This book just wasn’t for me. I guess I’m just more into happy love stories, and I couldn’t tolerate or justify the males constant abuse of his mate, and her fear and submissive nature leading her through so much trauma and suffering. Especially with the whole idea of a magical entity that purposefully paired them together, and because of the magical pull it is nearly impossible to break or fight the bond.
Personally this isn’t a book I’d recommend to anyone.

I loved this book. I need to know is there a book 2. I've been waiting for a very long time and even started looking for book two. If anyone could help me find the answer to my question I would be so grateful 🙏 🙂
This book is only available on the Galatea app. You can either pay up front for the whole book or each chapter or you can wait for 6hrs to get a fresh chapter free. The story was really good. I was completely hooked waiting for hours for another chapter. The only downfall I didn't know that the story was unfinished. There is no timeline on another book so I'm left in a limbo. Wish author could hurry up and release the new chapters soon.

I listened to the audiobook version on the Galatea app. Honestly it should come with trigger warnings at least the audiobook version should. I went into it thinking that the male lead would dislike her but then come to get to know her and come around, but no it's nothing like that, it's much darker and heavier than that and the male lead isn't interested in gettingto know the femaleleadat all. Don't get me wrong the story is very good, so good that I was hooked and finished it in a day. But the behaviour of the male lead towards the female lead was not good at all, throughout the entire book he's just tormenting and abusing her, while she remainshopeful. It seems like the author tries to make the "romantic" scenes seem nice, cute and somewhat palpable, but to me because of the forceful ways of the male lead's behaviour it just felt like straight up sexual abuse and the "r" word. Thankfully both the lead characters come to their senses in the very end, and the male lead finally understands that the entire time he has been an absolute duchebag to say the least, and she finally gets some self-esteem and understands that that dude isn't worth that much pain. At least that ending was nice 👌 Hope there is another book coming for this series, I need to see how the story progresses from that ending point and how the lead characters grow into themselves, change, and how they make their ways.
Maybe my expectations were a little too high but my motivation to finish this book just continued to decrease with every page. I probably won’t continue with the second book and novella as this book alone was super frustrating to get through, but I’m excited to start a new romance!!
Intellectually speaking, there isn’t a reason in the world why I should like this book; world building left me with some questions, the plot got a bit convoluted at times and I really disliked the MMC - which is odd for me. Usually I have a problem with how the FMC is written. However, I was hooked, and devoured the book.
Our heroine, Aurora, was an interesting character. At least to me. She was in turns very naive, but also smart; weak, but also strong; resolute, but faltering - and I found her to be a multidimensional, interesting and sympathetic character. That doesn’t mean I didn’t want to throttle her at times, but not for the reasons I usually want to throat punch a lot of FMCs in these romance books. She is an omega who finds herself mated to the arrogant (and I do mean a r r o g a n t) alpha of her pack. Now, usually I love me a cocky, arrogant, alpha, but not this time. Wolfgang is arrogant, but not in a charming way, the way a lot of these male characters are. When he finds himself mated to an omega, he’s disgusted with her and the moon goddess for doing this to him. And yet he can’t bring himself to outright reject her. So he deems her, his personal maid (aka slave) and begins a cycle of caring and asshole behavior that somewhat bewilders Aurora (and me, the reader too).
I think this is where I would have preferred Aurora to be strong. At that point I really wanted her to just pack her stuff and sneak out of the pack. But instead she does allow herself to be “abused“ by Wolfgang. By abused, I mean, he was in a relationship with a mean, girl, Tallulah. Well, he doesn’t really love her. He flaunts their relationship in front of Aurora because he thinks that she would make a better Luna than an omega, since she is the daughter of the alpha of a neighboring pack. And he seems to think that by being with her it will break the bond with Aurora. Which is stupid because if he wanted to break the bond with Aurora, all he has to do is reject her – which he won’t do. Confusing, right? That’s because, although he won’t admit it, he has feelings for her.
There are some awful things that happen to Aurora near the end of the book, and it does end on a cliffhanger where she finally finds her voice and her shinny spine and starts to treat Wolfgang like shit. She ain’t taking prisoners no more and she doesn’t give a shit what he’ll do to her anymore, she ain’t remaining the meek, silent, obedient omega anymore.
I am invested enough to read the next book in the series that was just released. If nothing else, the ending of this book has set up the next one to be a “grovel novel,” which, given how arrogant and “assholey” Wolfgang was in this book - I can’t wait to see him eat crow.
Honestly, I have been wanting to read this book for the longest for I was drawn into the story of Aurora and Wolfgang when I initially read the snippet a while ago. Months later, I have finally read the first part of the story and part of me feels as if a lot is missing. Yes, it does end on a cliffhanger which now forces me (willingly) to read the second part. However, it does not fit the steamy side of things. Yes, it's a quick and tame read but it was really repetitive. Aurora while young was super emotional which is fine in the beginning but it becomes annoying and frustrating as the story continues. In almost every chapter, she cries at least twice due to her asshole mate, Wolfgang. It got to the point that I was waiting for her to pick herself up and just forget about him. Instead she continued to wallow in self-pity and not progress or develop as a character until closer to the end.
Wolfgang was no better. He continuously walked around as if he had a chip on his shoulder. Understandably, yes being the Alpha and caring for others is a tough job but there has to be more to him than just that.
In all, I did like the story and would rate it a 3-3.5 due to lack of character developement and repetiveness. Hopefully the second half has the character development that is needed in order to make the story a 5 star one.

I read this on Galatea. It's one of those apps where you have to wait so long to unlock the next chapter or pay to unlock it. You can also earn a few points a day from adds. I read the first book. The second book after the first chapter or so can only be unlocked by paid subscription to the app. I didn't read it. A lot of the werewolf stories are about being rejected by mates. This is sort of one of those. The alpha is a real ass and won't reject her or accept her and won't let her go for a lot of the story. It's hard to get past a lot of his behavior. The funny thing is that part of the story kept me interested more than when the romance got sorted out. I mean something kept me coming back enough that I finished the book, but I was getting tired before I made it to the end. A lot of stuff is going on with the female lead. I'm not sure where things are headed.
Hated by my Mate: The Unwanted Luna is the first book of the Hated by My Mate series. This book follows the story of Aurora and Wolfgang. I’m really hoping that Aurora and Wolfgang’s story continues in another book. I definitely wanted to punch Wolfgang so badly for the way he treats his mate Aurora. I’m so happy that Aurora stood up for herself in the way she was being treated. I did feel that Hated by my Mate: The Unwanted Luna is left at a cliffhanger. On that note, I would definitely recommend this book. This book is beautifully written, with an excellent storyline being backed up by amazing characters.

I really enjoyed this story and got through it surprisingly quickly. I just felt like the male MC was a bit too harsh sometimes and like he didn’t do enough to redeem himself. His big gesture almost redeemed him but not quite in my eyes. (-.5⭐️) Then the ending felt rushed, kind of like the author just wanted to move on from the story and packed everything as succinctly as possible in those last 16 chapters. It just wasn’t a painted picture like the rest had been. (-1⭐️) Otherwise a great story, I really enjoyed it. 3.5⭐️
The book is vey good but there needs to be a 3 book I did not like they way it ended and that is why readers will not continue to read your books because the end does not give the reader the happy ending they are looking for in the book
That is why I stop reading books due to the ending being very bad
Yikes. I picked this up on a whim and was oddly obsessed with it for an evening. The writing is not good, and the romance is non-existent for the first 70 or so percent (it's definitely a bully romance), but for some reason I couldn't put it down! Still, I started skipping chapters at a time to skim the plot, and I wouldn't read this again.
Wolfgang is Aurora’s fated mate. Unfortunately he’s a not great shifter, man person. I know there is still more to this story coming but dang this book was a little rough to read I felt for Aurora so much. She went though so much and i just want whats best for her. Really good read, the flow was good and the characters were emotion invoking.
I enjoyed this. After accidentally subscribing to Galatea for a year, I decided to make the most of it and start reading the books on there. This story had more substance than most fated mates, and although the MMC was a bit of an arsehole, I still enjoyed the plot. Rather annoyingly, book 3 is available on the platform but not book 2…
Despite many spelling/pronoun/grammar errors and some continuity/timeline issues… I was hooked and finished both book 1 and 2 in one day. The story is really good. Really love the character development and the twists and turns. The story is definitely not over so hoping for a book 3!
I enjoyed the story and the characters. Aurora and Wolfgang grew on me. At times the story seemed a bit like a coming of age and growing up type of trope. I felt the end was unfinished and wondering if there is more after book two.
Very quick read. It pulled me in immediately. Not only did it give a full and complete arc, it was satisfying but slightly predictable. Aside from a few plot errors and some grammatical mistakes, this was a great read. I really enjoyed the arc of the FMC.
The amount of grovelinggggg .. that is all I will say .. I loved this book and it kept getting me to come back because the female character felt strong even when she made dumb decisions .. and for what it’s worth, Wolfgang is still a piece of shit 🫠

I tried really hard with this book. I kept thinking he was going to change and acknowledge her, but he was just getting worse. I couldn’t read anymore. And the fact that she just took all of the abuse was ridiculous. I need to stay away from this genre I think.
I listen to the book on audio. I loved it! The plot and storyline were wonderful and the characters were done very well. Looking forward to reading the next book!
