Lost & Found in Copper Ridge

Rate this book
It all started with Jack & Diane…

And no, not the couple from the popular 80’s song—the couple that signed a five-dollar bill with their names and the location of The Livingston Cabin in Copper Ridge, Colorado.

And I just so happened to acquire that five-dollar bill on the same day of the funeral of a close friend AND the day I was supposed to be getting married.
Coincidence? Perhaps.

A sign? I think so.

After a short internet search, I found the cabin in question and wasted no time booking a trip for myself to the magical house tucked high in the mountains.

But apparently someone else wanted to experience The Livingston Cabin during the same ten days as I did—and he was hotter than sin.

Carson took five years off of my life when I discovered him in my place of solitude. But he also became Santa’s helper as he opened me up to more fun and adventure than I ever thought possible.

The magic of Copper Ridge cast a spell over us for those ten days, and then one question remained when our time was up…

Did we find love just like Jack and Diane did all those years ago? Or were we both still lost after our stay in Copper Ridge?

There’s something so special about holiday romances set in a cabin! Copper Ridge, Colorado was the coziest small town to escape to! With a blend of sweet and spicy, I’d recommend adding this forced proximity gem to your holiday reads.

Promising to seek adventure in her life, Reese books a ten-day stay in a cabin after a message on a five-dollar bill gives her a sign. Due to a booking error, however, her time alone gets squashed as she’s forced to share the space with a stranger, Carson.

From a gingerbread decorating competition to baking Christmas cookies, this romance was wrapped in holiday cheer. I loved seeing two people find a connection in an unexpected way. As Reese learns to go with the flow and Carson removes his emotional guard, this story of serendipity was perfectly heartwarming.

Heart warming and sexy a book that brings the magic of the holidays to life.

Reese is struggling to come to terms with ending her engagement, and losing a patient who had a huge impact on her life when she finds a five dollar bill with an address for a cabin and the message that this location was the start of a love story. Thinking it’s a sign to start living her life more adventurously like her patient always pushed her, she decides on a whim to book the cabin for a getaway before the new year. Carson who is just going through the motions of life after his failed marriage and now spends all of his time working is forced into a cabin getaway by his grandmother who is worried about him. Because of a technology glitch both have rented the cabin for the same ten days and suddenly find themselves with a roommate.

I loved that there was an instant attraction between Carson and Reese. Carson is grumpy and a bit closed off on the beginning and really not wanting to have that instant connection with Reese, finding it too similar to how his failed marriage started. I loved watching him slowly open up, come to terms with their connection and then commit fully to it. Reese on the other hand is a ray of sunshine. She’s filled with so much life and joy even as she is trying to navigate the grief of recent loss. The instant attraction and connection with Carson is completely unexpected and really throws her for a loop. Casual relationships are not really her thing but she gives herself permission to explore this connection even though their time together is limited. Beyond the instant attraction and connection they both offer what the other is needing to move forward in life and live life in the moment.

Lost and Found in Copper Ridge was filled with some of my favorite holiday scenes that brought me so much joy to read. From the gingerbread house competition to writing Christmas cards for soldiers overseas, these are holiday traditions that are close to my heart personally and getting to see them written into Reese and Carson’s story was so dang heart warming.

I’m truly convinced at this point that Harlow James can do no wrong. She’s one of my absolute favorite romance authors because she consistently writes characters and stories that pull me in, keeping me engaged and invested from page one. I highly recommend this holiday romance!

Thank you Harlow James for sending me this ARC in return for my honest opinion.

Reese recently called off her engagement after realizing her fiancé wasn’t her person & now isn’t sure what direction her life is taking. When someone close to Reese passes away, she makes a holiday bucket list to complete & books a stay at a cabin in Copper Ridge, CO after fate put the small town on her radar. After she arrives at the cabin, Reese is shocked to discover it’s double booked when she—literally—runs into the other person who rented the cabin, Carson.

A year ago, Carson separated from the military after getting divorced. Carson’s grandma convinces him to take a vacation during the holidays to give himself a break & finally embrace the spirit of the holiday. The last thing Carson expects is to be sharing his cabin with the most gorgeous redhead he’s ever seen.

Over the next week, Carson & Reese share the cabin, fully intending to stay out of each other’s ways. But what ends up happening is the two of them get into the holiday spirit and wiggle their ways into each other’s hearts…

Lost & Found in Copper Ridge by Harlow James is a forced proximity, holiday romance that is sure to make you swoon & put you in the holiday spirit. This was such a romantic story and it had all the cozy vibes I was looking for. Carson & Reese had the opposites attract thing going for them & they were the perfect match. If you are looking for a heartwarming & steamy holiday read, look no further! 4.5/5 stars.

I’m a sucker for a good Christmas romance, especially with a little dose of enemies to lovers tension, and this one definitely delivered. Lost & Found in Cooper Ridge in the perfect blend of a magical Christmas Hallmark movie, with an extra dose of sexy steam - who knew being on the naughty list would be this enjoyable?! Even though this book takes place over Christmas and against the backdrop of a chilly winter snow storm, it is freaking hotttt!! Aside from the perfect steam, the banter between Reese and Carson is on point, and I so enjoyed Reese’s hilarious relationship with her best friend, Wendy. There is also an adorable mystery element to the story, which culminated in the most swoon-worthy HEA. I was so fortunate to receive an eArc of this lovely Christmas romance and would absolutely recommend that you add this to your Christmas TBR.

Lost & Found In Copper Ridge by Harlow James
This book brings us straight into a hallmark Christmas movie. But a good, steamy one. Nothing cheesy. I seriously had a perma-grin on my face reading this book.

Lost & Found in Copper Ridge follows Reese, who recently called off her engagement, and Carson, who has been divorced for a couple of years but is realizing how lonely he has become. Reese is struggling because she lost a woman who was very close to her-one who helped her see that she was settling with her ex-fiancé and with her life in general. Ruth wanted Reese to go and live, so when Reese got a $5 bill with a note on it about a town called Copper Ridge on the day of Ruth’s funeral, she took it as a sign and booked a vacation there.

Carson grew up visiting Copper Ridge and when his grandmother insisted he go on a vacation there, he did. But due to a glitch, Carson and Reese booked the same cabin for the same dates. Of course they don’t realize this until Reese comes out of the bathroom in a towel and runs right into Carson 😂 After discovering there are no other options for lodging, they decide to become roommates for the next 10 days. But they both feel this pull towards each other-an attraction they can’t deny. Carson is hesitant to admit any feelings because his marriage started as a whirlwind of emotions and ended in disaster. And Reese is hesitant to admit anything because she’s just coming out of an engagement. But they can’t seem to resist the pull towards each other-almost as if the universe is pushing them together.

I can’t recommend this book enough. If you’re looking for a feel good Christmas book, look no further. This was my first book by Harlow James but I will absolutely be reading more. Not only was this book so well written, but she is so sweet and interactive with readers on IG! Harlow thank you for sharing this story with us-I hope everyone else loves Reese & Carson as much as I did!

Holiday love story!!

Rating 4.5 stars

This is such a sweet small town holiday romance, that shows that trying new things can lead to some life changing events.

Reese received a $5 note as change from the store one day. This money had a note on it about a couple falling in love at a cabin. On a whim, she decided to book this same cabin that is featured on the note. Reese is not looking for love she is just out to relaxed and live a little outside of her small box.

Carson has been feeling as though life is going by but not in the way that he wants it to. His grandmother insists that he takes a vacation to Copper Ridge, she even books his stay.

Reese and Carson ended up booking the cabin for the same period of time, which now makes them roommates. But as they start to share little bits about themselves, they realize that may be this meeting was meant to be.

Can two lost souls not looking for love, find love in a Cooper Ridge cabin?

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Page-turner, Romantic, Steamy, Wonderful character

Deck the halls and jingle 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙨, this getaway winter read will have you lusting after a cozy cabin and crackling fire…and a muscley man to snuggle.

Our leading lady Reese is looking to heal her hurting heart after losing a dear friend and escaping a near marriage mistake. She is relatable, honest, realistic and the kind of person you wish you could befriend IRL. Her relationship with Ruth, an elderly woman in the convalescent home in which Reese works, brought tears to my eyes — so sweet and added an extra something special to this book for me.

Our leading lad Carson is a been-burned-before teddy bear of a man with a saucy side, hesitant to give his heart away because the pain of previous scars still pangs. His adoration for his grandparents had me clutching my iPad to my chest.

While sweet and endearing in their own ways, don’t get me wrong — when they finally get together, Reese and Carson 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧. 🔥

This story has all the key features of your favourite Hallmark movies if they were Rated R — forced proximity by way of a double booked cabin and no remaining vacancies, careening down the ski hill and colliding full frontal, hot tub heat, wistful stolen glances, cheesy professions of love, a Christmas market, Christmas baking and a heartwarming twist at the end.

For the Friends fans in the room — when we first exchanged DMs with Harlow we joked she was our Nora Bing and F•O•L•K•S let me tell you Harlow lived up to Nora’s reputation! This book was full of Christmas innuendos, delicious sexual tension and throbbing pens.

Highly recommend for holiday enthusiasts and hopeless romantics. Loved this one, Harlow! While reading you can feel the love and care invested in the creation of Lost and Found in Copper Ridge. Thank you for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

A perfect start to the holidays!

This book was sweet and fun to read. It gets you in the holiday spirit, it gives you hope that love can be found unexpectedly and sometimes a little faith goes along the way.
Looking for some answers, Reese decides to take an unexpected trip, she has hope on finding the story behind her dollar bill, is this couple real? Is their story so memorable that they imprinted it on a bill to pass around and everyone to see?
She will son find out getting to the cabin and unexpectedly discover she has company and well, thing really developed from there.
Carson needs some time and a cabin trip sound like it might be it, but meeting Reese gets him out of sorts and the journey begins.
Love the chemistry between this two, their fun moments and once they let go, they really let go!!

Great read!

I like to believe things happen for a reason no matter the situation. But for Carson and Reese things couldn’t have happened anymore perfectly. This book is filled with strangers to lovers, forced proximity and of course holiday romance!

If you’re looking to put a holiday romance on your TBR for this year, Lost and Found in Copper Ridge is a must! This book got me in the sprit for the holidays. I found myself having to have a cup of hot chocolate every time I opened this book. It’s filled with not only heart warming and joyful moments but the spicy scenes will make your jaw drop.

For my first holiday romance EVER, I’m so glad it was by Harlow James!

Hallmark Christmas but make it HBO. Because that steam was 🔥🔥. This was my first holiday read of the season and Harlow James did not disappoint! This was such a fun forced proximity trope. The connection and the banter between Reese and Carson flowed so well and you just fell in love with them as a couple as they fell in love with eachother! I especially related to Reese as one who also went through through a called off engagement and I loved watching her find love after because it just is such a healing thing. A perfect read for Christmas or anytime! I was gifted an arc for my honest opinion.

Carson and Reece were so stinking cute, this whole book was like watching a hallmark movie, but this has steam and the most adorable moments that at time it had me clutching my kindle. Reece goes to this adorable cabin and wow the visualization that Harlow described felt like i was there with Reece, Carson and she end up meeting in a adorably funny but hilarious way. I Love this book so much. Perfect Christmas Read.

While reading Harlow James' newest all I could think of was this would be a great holiday movie on Hallmark because its a great holiday story, it's a sweet romance, and there's some unexplained holiday magic as well. I've read all of Harlow Jame's books and right now its probably in my top five of her books.
As the case manager at a convalescent hospital Reese loves the patients that come in and out of her life through there. But she never expected one to change her life so much, and Ruth just told her how it was. Because of Ruth Reese realized that her ex-fiancé wasn't the one for her, and she was going to end up in a marriage like her parents had. So now she's taking a vacation to start her bucket list like Ruth would have wanted and in a weird twist of fate (or Christmas magic) the day of Ruth's funeral she gets five dollar bill back for change with a message "Jack & Diane Copper Ridge, CO Livingston Cabin, 1969 'The weekend we fell in love'". With that message she knows how to start her list by going to Copper Ridge. But when she gets to the Livingston Cabin she finds that she has an unintended roommate for the week in a handsome stranger named Carson...
When Carson started his long awaited vacation at the Livingston Cabin at the recommendation of his grandmother all he wanted was peace and quite, he certainly didn't think he was going to have a roommate. But because of the scheduling error and it being tourism season they have no other choice than to share the cabin for the week. As the week goes on and Reese and Carson spend their vacation together and Reese starts to complete her bucket list the two begin to develop feelings for one another. But when the vacation ends will the holiday magic that helped Reese and Carson fall in love with one another carry over into the real world, or will the real world interrupt that magic?

What an absolutely adorable (with some spice mixed in) holiday story!

It all started with a canceled wedding, a funeral, and a $5 bill in change after purchasing some comforting York Peppermint Patties. Reese, who is a planner, on the spur of the moment books a cabin, which is named on the $5 bill, and heads off on a solo vacation in the mountains. I adored Reese and she is the kind of woman you want as a friend. I loved her relationship with her friend Wendy as well.

Carson. First of all - LOVED HIM! His grandma feels he needs a getaway and books him a solo vacation in the mountains as well. And ... you guess it! That cabin might just be double booked. Carson was tough on the outside, but soft and squishy on the inside. I loved that his grandma taught him to cook, and that he appreciated the little things.

Their love story was sweet and full of sparks! The road was bumpy. They both had moments of being closed off. Anything and everything seemed to get in their way. But they plowed through (snow humor - get it?).

And when we finally find out the story behind that $5 bill. Perfection!

If you're ready to kick of your holiday reading, grab this one. It helped me get in the spirit of Christmas (and made me crave some York Peppermint Patties!).

Lost & Found in Copper Ridge by Harlow James is a forced proximity, strangers to lovers, holiday romance. It is a standalone written in the first person and dual pov.

I believe everyone we meet and everything that happens to us has a reason, a purpose. Lost & Found in Copper Ridge is a book that shows this perfectly. If it is your fate to end up with someone, you can fight it or run away, but fate will always bring you back together.

Reese was an amazing woman! I loved how courageous and relatable she was.
Carson was imperfectly perfect, he is serious book boyfriend material.
As a couple, they fit together like a pot and its lid. Their chemistry was amazing.
This was a steamy story, Carson and Reese easily set the room on fire.

Background characters, Dean and Ruth, are unforgettable! I loved them both so much.

Harlow James has this gift of writing perfectly balanced stories. The steam, fun, drama, etc. it was all perfectly balanced.

An original storyline that is easy to read, lovable characters, many funny, sexy, emotional moments, and lots of Christmas cheer makes Lost & Found In Copper Ridge holiday romance perfection.

I received an ARC from the author but am voluntarily leaving this review.

Lost & Found in Copper Ridge is a cosy holiday romance set during Christmas in Colorado. After ending her engagement months before her wedding, avid list-writer Reese decides to be spontaneous and book a 10-day escape to a secluded cabin. What she doesn't expect is to share the cabin with Carson.

There are lots of things to love about this book. Firstly, dual perspectives! Secondly, Reese and Carson are great characters and their character growth was fantastic. They had chemistry from the get-go and while they were both guarded in the beginning, it didn't take long for things to heat up (and heat up they did 🔥). James doesn't shy away from the spice in this book!

I also loved the cosy holiday moments scattered throughout the book - from making cookies to a gingerbread competition and visiting the town's Christmas festival. It's destined to put you in the festive spirit! Finally, I have to take a moment to say how much I loved Wendy. She was such a supportive best friend and I think she needs her own book 😆.

There was also a serendipitous element to this book, which I adored. So, if you like steamy holiday romances with a side of forced proximity, I highly recommend Lost & Found in Copper Ridge.

Read #2 - just as heartwarming as the first time. Love Harlow James’ writing and knew this holiday romance would get me out of my reading funk.

———

A heartwarming holiday romance with some heat.
As with Harlow James' writing style, I've come to love, every little nugget has meaning and will come full circle in the most beautiful ways. Add in all kinds of wonderful holiday shenanigans, and you have a fantastic holiday read.

I adore Reese. Her journey to find her way, her relationship with her BFF, and her passion for lists. Carson is a mix of swoony and broody that will steal your heart. Plus, the man cooks!
The heat picks up outside of the kitchen too - hello hot tub, and who knew chocolate peppermint ganache could be so hot!!!

The story has moments that will pull at the heartstrings, have you talking to your kindle and smiling with joy. So pick up this book if you want a romance with all the holiday feels.

This book is like the Hallmark movie you wish they’d make — the adult version!!

I love a good force proximity set up and Reese and Carson give us a wonderful holiday story. A double booked cabin has never been so sexy!!

It all starts with a $5, and this story totally makes you believe in fate, kismet or whatever you want to call it. Some coincidences are too wonderful to believe they are left up to chance.

Carson was the perfect cinnamon roll, just a little crusty on the outside, but with totally gooey center. He is busy showing Reese all the things she was missing with her ex without even realizing it. And, who doesn’t love a man who cooks!

Reese is busy working her way out of an emotional rut. And her list is a perfect way for Carson to help her move in the right direction. Her baking and his cooking make for a perfect connect and all the heat is not in the kitchen people! These two are spicy!

Great holiday book with enough twists to keep you guessing. So good!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Lost & Found In Copper Ridge is my favorite holiday romance read of 2021! This book is simply adorable. Carson and Reese will touch your heart and their serendipitous story will leave you with a smile on your face.

Reese was an amazing woman. I loved her and her big heart. All the good karma she put out in the world came back to her in the best way possible granting her the happily ever after she so richly deserved. And then there was Carson. The world needs more men like Carson. He’s perfectly imperfect, which makes him infinitely more attractive in my books. Once Carson got his head out of his a** he manned up and made Reese his forever.

Lost & Found In Copper Ridge is a must read holiday romance, I’m giving it ALL the stars and the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and have yourself a merry little read this Christmas!

Book 192 of 2023

This was Christmas story perfection!

We all know I love a good story set in a small Colorado mountain town. The way this town was written has me completely transported. There’s just something about the cozy, snow-covered streets of the town, the crackling fire, the snug little cabin, and all the Christmas decor. You could smell the peppermint hot chocolate and feel the cold mountain air.

Christmas books tend to have a different rating system. The rules and practicality of it all go out the window. You want something that will make your heart happy, and this one did that for me. I loved this concept of lost and found here. Carson & Reese both had lost a piece of themselves, but found it on this mountain getaway. The magic of Christmas and love was rediscovered for both of them, and it was fun to be on that journey with them.

An Absolute cracker of a story!
What a fantastic, cosy hug of a book.

You will fall instantly for both Carson and Reese as they re-discover the magic of Christmas whilst also finding that feeling of home and belonging with that special person. The person that just ‘gets’ you.
I loved both of these characters.

The forced proximity trope is great and Ms Harlow does it really well here as Carson and Reese find themselves spending ten days together in a winter wonderland. As they embark on some christmasy adventures, relaxing into the holiday spirit they find there is something so much more rewarding to be had.
With some twists and turns, great side characters and enough heat to make a snowman blush, this story with give you a wonderful warm hallmark glow.

What a sweet Christmas romance. Reese is such a strong, independent woman trying to discover her love of Christmas again and find that person that lights her heart on fire. Carson is a strong, independent man looking to get away for awhile and definitely not looking for any long term commitments. The coincidences, the connection, the chemistry, and all the Christmas magic one can handle. This book is a great Christmas read that will keep you warm on those cold winter nights.

“Well, if everyone got it right the first time, life would be pretty boring. We’d never learn our worth, what we want in a partner, how to communicate and appreciate someone else for who they are. If we got it right the first time, there would be no songs about heartbreak and finding love again, no love stories that gave hope to others who got hurt just as bad. If we got it right the first time, we’d never appreciate the moment we actually do get it right—when we meet the person we are meant to be with. Because then we know—there’s no other world to live in than the one that involves them.”

This is my first book by Harlow James, and definitely will not be my last. It deserves so much more than 5 stars, seriously I absolutely love everything about this story! This reminds me of a hallmark movie (but way better), with all the steam 🔥🔥🔥

There’s something about a cabin at Christmas, that just gives me all the cozy vibes. I loved Copper Ridge, Dean who was a sweetheart, and Windy, who was just the perfect best friend! I just couldn’t keep the grin off my face throughout this book!

I absolutely adored the relationship between Carson and Reese!! I love the way their relationship came together, from the beginning to the end, it was just perfect. The heat between these two, WOW, I couldn’t stop myself from blushing!!

“Can you spontaneously combust from words alone? Asking for a friend.”

This seriously had all the cozy vibes I was looking for in a holiday romance, and I honestly don’t know if I even want to ready another one, because I don’t think any could even come close to how amazing this story is! I’m sorry for how dramatic I may seem, but seriously, IM OBSESSED!!

Just do yourself a favor and go read this book!! You won’t regret it!!

Harlow James did it again! She gave me a story full of magic, lovable characters, fun, and the best possible atmosphere. Lost & Found in Copper Ridge made me want to bake cookies and give gingerbread houses a second chance, plus, it was the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit with a book full of heartwarming , surprising and hot moments.

I think the plot screams Christmas magic very loudly! The way Reese & Carson meet, the reasons they both have for embarking on their journeys in search of themselves and the unexpected bond that unites them, as well as the feelings they develop for each other in a short but intense time, along with the snow board abd Christmas decorations was an amazing trip to read, and one that I enjoyed too much.

I loved Reese , her personality is totally beautiful, she has a huge heart and cares about the people around her, at the beginning of the book she faces the loss of a very important peron, something that leads her to make risky decisions and want to experience her reckless side a little more. Resse is sincere, flirtatious and love to make lists of things to do to be able to mark them later, she has a very interesting personal story, with painful moments and important losses, for this reason she seeks to find in Copper Ridge the peace and momentum necessary to dare to live his life to the fullest and to honor one of the most significant people in his life.

On the other hand, Carson makes the trip to Copper Ridge not so willingly, however he seeks to take a little time for himself and enjoy the snow. He is a kind man, who knows how to admit his mistakes and ask for forgiveness, he's kind, likes to cook and has a very funny & flirtatious side that I fell in love with immediately, just like Reese, Carson has wounds from the past and has lived tragic moments throughout his life, he has made bad decisions that led him to close himself a little to the world, however, that doesn't prevent him from being loving with his family and with the people who touch his heart.

The lives of Carson & Reese intersect when they both rent a cabin in Copper Ridge on the same date, obviously there was a mistake and they're forced to spend 10 days together. Their attraction for the other is evident from the beginning, but they both try to avoid it, however it's impossible to deny the chemistry that unites them, they go through all kinds of moments and their story takes totally unexpected turns, and although they made me suffer several times, I loved reading how detailed and adorable Carson can be, the way he and Reese begin to trust each other and realize that their feelings are much bigger than a simple physical attraction. Also, I think Harlow James did an excellent job with these two: creating mature characters, who are a bit lost, but are able to recognize what they want and go for it without thinking too much, and the latter chapters were totally amazing.

Perfect holiday romance!!!

This author has struck again with another amazing holiday romance. If you love Hallmark movies but always say “I wish they weren’t so cheesy and had some stream” then you will love this book.

A message on a $5 bill leads Reese to a cabin in the mountains. It’s the idyllic vacation getaway until she runs smack dab into Carson, the man who also rented the cabin. Agreeing to share the space, they promise to keep out of each other’s way and enjoy their ten days. But attraction and feelings start to mar the lines until those lines are completely crossed over. That’s when the steam we all want explodes because Carson and Reese are so HOT together!!

I’m obsessed with forced proximity romances so I loved this story. They are always just so fun as the two people try avoid each other but of course, keep running into each other (sometimes naked).

This story is fun, sweet, but with some twists that try to break your heart a bit and some twists that will make you believe in fate. I was literally like “oh no Harlow is NOT doing this to us right now” because Reese and Carson had a bit of a bumpy road…but don’t worry she gives us the perfect Christmasy joyful ending.

This is definitely a book I will go back and re-read a lot especially at the holidays!
