Alexis Sky Martine thinks of herself as the average girl-next-door that does what she has to do to get by, have fun and enjoy life.
She is madly in love with her sexy, drop-your-panties-at-first-sight, hottie boyfriend who is equally in love with her; more like downright obsessed. He treats her like she is his heart; like he needs her to exist; like he would do anything in his power to make her happy.
Lexi knows Landyn James loves her just as much as she loves him, if not more. Deep down, she also knows high school sweethearts aren’t expected to last, but their relationship is different. They are soul mates. Their connection is unbreakable.

What could possibly go wrong when you have love like that...?
Everything.
What will the future hold...?
Only time will tell.

Author's Note: Contains Adult Content – Namely, a teenager-turned-woman with a very dirty mouth and fiery temper that may or may not know how to throw a punch. Also includes hot and steamy scenes, and a small glimpse into physical/verbal abuse.

Let's see... I'm a rookie romance author, passionate book lover, drama enthusiast, trouble maker & hopeless romantic. I'm a wife, full-time mother of two handsome little boys and step-mother to a very beautiful pre-teen. I also work a full-time 9 to 5. Writing has been a wonderful escape for me and I never realized how much fun it would be until I got started.

Lexi, baby is my first novel and I can't believe I actually finished it! When I first put fingers to keyboard, I imagined the book as a very short story, but I just kept going and going and going. Now I have the next two books outlined and it's insane! I might even have a fourth, but I'm still undecided.

I really hope you have an opportuniy to check it out.

The entire series will be fun, drama-filled, oh my gawd gasping, did that just happen asking. It will always include a very sexy alpha male and an equally sexy girl-next-door that may or may not know how to throw a punch.

You can check out updates on my Facebook Page - Author Lynda LeeAnne or my website www.authorlyndaleeanne.com. I would love to hear your feeback and, if you can, please leave a review on your favorite book seller's website, my contact page or Goodreads.

It would mean the world to me to hear from my fellow friends and readers.

Lots of Love,
Lynda LeeAnne <3

HOLY CRAP!!

WOW...WOW...WOW...WOW...WOW!!

This book was amazing, intense and steamy. I was riveted to the edge my seat the whole time reading it. From the opening pages you're hooked. It's a book that you can't put down. Talk about suspense, this book is loaded with it. I was sick to much stomach and I had so much nervous energy that I started twitching and pacing. It's a heart pounding, incredible story filled with alpha males, crazy females, a dash of psycho men and secrets. There are twist and turns everywhere. This is a MUST read. A nice quick book, perfect to escape reality and enjoy a little bit of angsty book love.

Alexis Martine aka Lexi, is in an amazing relationship with Landyn her high school sweetheart. Thinking they have the perfect relationship, Lexi couldn't be happier, until one night at a party her perfectly pretty world is shattered. Inadvertently hearing something that tears them apart Lexi comes away with a shattered heart and thinking her life will never be the same. Little does she know that fate has a different path for her and Landyn, than what she's wanting right then.

"You're mine, Lexi! No matter what happens, you're mine! Do you hear me?" ~~Landon

MmmmmHmmmm...I love the way he marks her as his! Swoon.

When his eyes hit mine something in them froze me in place. I promptly stopped laughing.
He stalked up to me.
“You think this is funny? Did you like him touching you?” Landyn growled. I didn't know what to say so I shook my head.
“Take off your clothes,” he demanded.
“What?” I asked in a small voice. He ignored me and started unbuckling my jeans and slipping them off my hips himself. When they fell around ankles his hand hit my core.
“I’m feeling the need to mark my territory and I want you right here. Right now.”

Yeah...YOU KNOW that quote totally makes me swoon. Oh the Alpha males in this... sigh .... so freaking good!!! I think I have an Alpha Male addiction because I can't get enough. Landyn is seriously possessive and sweet mixed with a little as*hole/douche-bag which is the perfect combination for a stellar Alpha. He's a killer in the sack and the steamy scenes in this book do not disappoint.

“I love you Lexi. You’re going to be mine for the rest of your life. You’ve always been mine.” His voice was firm. "I'm not afraid to admit how much I need you, baby." ~~ Landon

SERIOUSLY.....

READ THIS BOOK

NOW!!!

I can't say to much without giving away all the juicy details but WHOA.....the story is crazy, fun, angsty and like I said before heart stopping. I loved it, loved it, loved it. I highly recommend it.

Excuse me but..WTH ?

I mean seriously ? I had to double check to see if this book was the exact same copy of the one that received honorary 4 stars or 5,from my fabulous GR friends.....

FIRST THINGS FIRST,
I could,by no means,RELATE to ALEXIS SKY MARGARITA by ANY means possible !

Seriously that girl is just waaaay too over-dramatic and offensive for my taste...I mean for god sake,She spent the whole 150+ pages of the book, trying to decide who should win 'Lexi's man of the year' award.

a)The cheating EX boyfriend
b)The abusive boyfriend
c)The hot detective on case
d) Or none of the above..

If it was me, I would DEFIANTLY be picking option D (Cz trust me all 3 are kinna crazy..Well,except the detective I guess... LOL he's kinna hot.)

But who did she pick in the end? Sorry,But can;t tell you.Because that's basically what the whole plot revolves around. ;)

Oh well..I think I'm done reading for the day. This book is defiantly got me all kinds of

Would I recommend it ?
Oh ! HELL NO !

Will I be reading the squeal?
Again,Hell to the no !

Genre: New Adult Contemporary romance

Decided to start this review with one of my fave scenes between Lexi and Landyn. Check it out!

When his eyes hit mine something in them froze me in place. I promptly stopped laughing.
He stalked up to me.

“You think this is funny? Did you like him touching you?”Landyn growled. I didn’t know what to say so I shook my head.
“Take off your clothes,” he demanded.
“What?” I asked in a small voice. He ignored me and started unbuckling my jeans and slipping them off my hips himself. When they fell around ankles his hand hit my core.
“I’m feeling the need to mark my territory and I want you right here. Right now.”

Life was good! No, correction life was better than good for Alexis Sky Martine.

Life was great!

The summer is coming to an end and she is about to start college with her best friend Trish. Her boyfriend Landyn will be two hours a way at school on a football scholarship. The distance does not worry her though, they're committed and passionate about making it work. No matter what. Landyn is HOT plus he's a total badass and he will not hesitate to pound the face in of any guy who looks at Lexi the wrong way.

Oh and did I mention that he was HOT! Well he is! *sighs dreamily*

So, yes, life is great for Lexi. And she is now at the last party of the summer celebrating with said boyfriend Landyn. And her bestie Trish; who by the way is gorgeous, super smart and will have her back no matter what.

Unfortunately everything is about to come crashing down around Lexi.

Surprise surprise surprise, that is what this book was for me. And I loved it! It gave me a good amount of drama, laughs, tears cuteness, sex, and alpha male sexiness at an all time high.
Needless to say I was enthralled. I totally recommend it!!

SIDENOTE
The synopsis for this book does not even begin to cover it.

The characters
Lexi- I loved Lexi and her hippie parents right along with her. We only got a few glimpses of them but the advice they gave her was priceless 'make love not war' LOVED IT!!! Lexi was strong and independent she did not hesitate to put her priorities first. I really admired that about her.
Landyn- Total alpha male. He was sexy. He was sweet. And he did not play. Period. He wanted Lexi and he went after her. Period.
Trish- Trish is definitely a person you want on your side. She is a total badass. I cannot wait for her book!
Ryan- Ummm... WOW...
Adam- YUM! **Licks lips** I want some of this fictional male! STAT!
Layla- Absolutely adorable! I loved her!

The Ending = JAW DROPPER!!!
Photobucket

I wanted to read this book so bad!! i had this whole different idea about what it is!! I thought she had this perfect boyfriend who loved her, and her life was perfect, then they go to collage together and she cheats on him! YES i couldn't be more wrong!

Lexi and Landyn are highschool sweethearts. he's the hottest football player in the school. and he LOVED her!! not only highschool love HE.LOVED.HER!
one night they went to a party! and there is a bitch!-The school slut*
He was drunk, and she was around him the whole time, whispering in his ear, like the devil on his left shoulder, telling him he was only 18 and young why would he be with Lexi, then he fucked her in a bathroom WHILE his girlfriend was outside listening!!!

She started yelling at him, and he started to say sorry! when she left he yelled after her-and it's probably one of the best lines in the book:

"you're mine Lexi! no matter what happens, you're mine!! do you hear me"
*sigh*
ohh yeah ^^^^ that shit make me swoon
anyway after that she moves early because she was sad,and wanted to get out of there, and because of other things

Anyway after 6 years later, we see how she was doing, at the age of 24 she has a lot of responsibilities and a new love.
but with the new appearing of her old love, will she be able to stay faithful to her current one?

the characters OMG LOVED THEM
ugh can't wait for the second one.
Trish & Tony ...*hot*
Adam.a pile of hotness waiting to be licked OMG
Layla she's so cute, i loved her.
Ryan : I was right not to like him!

I can't go on any-longer without giving spoilers. this was was amazing, it didn't disappoint, other than the fact that it was TOO SHORT!
AGREE?
it was really short, i wanted more of EVERYTHING...

Some of My favorite lines

“You think this is funny? Did you like him touching you?…Take off your clothes,”
“What?”
“I’m feeling the need to mark my territory and I want you right here. Right now.”

He treated me like I was his heart; like he needed me to exist; like he’d do anything in his power to make me happy.

I just showed my true colors by hoe-bagging it around with my baby daddy.

Twenty minutes! It only took him twenty minutes to get me naked and he’s still inside me! On a desk!'

4 1/2 Rollercoaster stars...Hold On!

description

Push up and pull down on your lap bar and hold on tight!

Lexi, Baby is a rollercoaster ride that had me gripping the handle bar the entire read. Once you’ve settled from one drop, another one is around the bend. Then there are loops and the intensity just doesn’t stop.

You may even find yourself saying the series name "This Can't be Happening" more than once.

The ride was filled with some of my favorite qualities in a book. It was straight out drama with humor, angst, steam, an alpha and it was completely unpredictable!

”I’m glad you think I’m unbelievable, baby, and I will never stop calling you baby. I refuse to call you what everyone else does because you’re not theirs, you’re mine.”

Once your car reaches the end of the tracks you are greeted by the Conductor, Lynda LeeAnne. She hands you a return ticket for another ride in the future.

I'll see you on line!

I hated him with every fiber of my being. I would always love him, but I hated him with so much passion that I knew I would never be able to forgive him.

I recently fell down the KU rabbit hole and binge read on all of the books that I've been wanting to read for a few years now. This was at the top of my list. Why? The cheating. What? I'm weird like that, okay. I love me some cheating angst. But the cheating has to be written well. Like really well. There has to be a reason I can connect with. There has to be a grovel. Like epic grovel. Like a grovel to beat all grovels. And this book? Well....

I love alpha males. I love imperfect, broody, alpha holes. But toxic men? Not my cuppa. And Landyn felt toxic to me. He was possessive and broody, sure. But beyond that? Meh.

All things considered, I could have still liked it. But then there was Alexis. Annoying heroines are my kryptonite and I simply couldn't stand Alexis. Spoilers to follow

Suffice it to say, I really disliked her for that.

Then there's her toxic boyfriend that seriously spirals out of control and all of the victim blaming that happens. Oh he had a right to manhandle me because this happened and he was mad.

There was really no dealing with things between her and Landyn. Just a whole lot of sex. And I don't mind me some sexy times, but a little less freaky deaky and a little more conversation wouldn't have been amiss.

Between that, the amount of over the top ridiculous drama, grammatical errors, and really juvenile characters and dialogue and I completely checked out of the story. Though it did still hook me enough to be curious to read the next book to see how Trish and Tony's story plays out.

Maybe if I read this book when it first released, I would have felt differently? But my reading tastes have changes quite a bit over the years and I'll admit my expectations got different for my books. Sadly this one wasn't my cuppa.

**SPOILERS ALERT**

SERIOUSLY???? So many positive reviews for such a shitty plot?
This book was so not worthy of categorising as "romance". Lexi was a doormat, blinded by her 'LOVE' for the piece of shit hero. He CHEATED on her and that, dude, is so not okay! If you can't keep it in your pants then don't be in a relationship. Lan (who is aforementioned piece of shit hero) claims to not remember his bathroom-sex-encounter with a girl who according to Lexi is a WHORE!! This is ridiculous. They don't discuss his philandering ways. He just shows up and she has sex with him and forgives him like it's not a big deal. AND THIS IS WHEN SHE ACTUALLY THINKS OF LAN AS HER SOULMATE.
Jesus effing christ SERIOUSLY???!!!
And what's up with blaming the other woman when LAN WAS THE ONE IN THE FUCKING RELATIONSHIP IN THE FIRST PLACE AND NOT THE GIRL HE FUCKED IN THE BATHROOM WHO IF I RECALL WAS HEARD BY LEXI. She heard the WHOLE FUCKING THING STANDING OUTSIDE.
How can you forgive the guy when you shouldn't be able to even trust him with taking shit!
Aaaaaand I don't get why always be it in novels, movies or real life do we BLAME OTHER WOMAN when you should be attacking the asshole who CHEATS. It is always like that. You do not blame the guy but the woman he cheats on you with. Are you out of your mind people?? It's not third party's fault.
Lexi PUNCHES the other woman. She doesn't "REGRET" punching her but she "FORGIVES" Lan.
SERIOUSLY??!! Irrational much? -_-
I DO NOT need to read this shit when I am expecting to read a ROMANCE NOVEL because I don't consider sticking your dick in another woman shouts ROMANCE OR LOVE, FOR THAT FUCKING MATTER!
I didn't even read their fucking epilogue because I don't care about their HAPPY FUCKING ENDING because babe, IF HE IS ABLE TO GET A HARD ON TO STICK HIS DICK INSIDE SOMEONE ELSE WHEN HE LOVES YOU, CARES FOR YOU AND IS SUPPOSEDLY YOUR SOUL MATE *eyeroll*, honey, HE WILL DO IT A-FUCKIN'-GAIN.

Calling this shit romance is like telling li'l kids that Santa is real. You get your hopes up then your hopes promptly get drowned in a gutter full of shit.

Sorry but you cannot just potray cheating as OKAY because it ruins our perfect imaginary world. And I don't think we readers come here to burst our bubble and read about real world.
P.S.- Contrary to popular belief, I am not ranting about ANGER AT CHEATERS Campaign because *gasp* I was cheated on or anything. :p
P.P.S.- Pardon my french please! (Or not!) :)

I could not finish this ridiculous over the top melodramatic cliched rubbish. Thank gawd amazon gives refunds. Lexi is immature even in her mid twenties and I refuse to read any further to see when she would finally grow up. She makes the same mistake twice after whining and running away the first time. I can't see what all of the excitement about Lan is about, his character was never really fleshed out and I didn't understand him. Neither was Ryan and he was around for 2 years!. Lan was just an alpha male running roughshod over a weak willed little girl. All she does is cry and cry and cry some more and drool over all the hot guys that she and her lucky friend Trish seem to constantly meet! In between she has sex with Lan without protection. She is so pathetic and takes no real control over her own life and by the time she moves in with him I was waiting for the moment where he bust out a collar, put it around her neck and made her kneel in her panties while eating food out his hand. I'll try Trish's story, she maybe a little reckless but at least she has some backbone. Bleh

This review may contain MAJOR spoilers. Be warned.

First and foremost, this was not a feel good book. At least not for me.
Just so that you can have an idea of what I went through...

There was I, prettly and naively reading this amazing book

when suddenly SHIT STARTED TO HAPPEN.

And I shit you not, my friend. It was THE BIGGEST SHIT EVER.

So from relaxed and completely happy with my life, I went to this

I just wanted to throw a bitch fit and go.

My anger towards that...hot boo-thang called Landyn was OFF THE SCALES. That man just got on my nerves EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's not like I dislike him or anything, but liking him is HARD, sistah. What he did was UNFORGIVING. UN-FOR-GIVING! Argh, I can't even remember what he did without wanting to punch him in his cheating face...He's hot though.

The only way I can see myself forgiving and even forgetting that the guy cheated on the main female character is if she did the SAME THING with him. Because let's keep it real, ok? Whenever a male character cheats on the girl, this three things always led him to do it:
1) He's fucking drunk.
2) He's scared (a pussy).
3) Or he's a jerk, plain and simple.

In this case we go with all three of them. So let's analyze: as far as I'm concerned, being drunk doesn't make you instantly have amnesia. So why, in the whole freaking world, didn't you remember your feelings towards your girl? Hm? Going even further, if you're scared just open that goddmaned mouth and speak. God gave you that so you could use it. Make it worth it. And if you put the blame of your cheating on the first two options, sorry to say, but you're a jerk.

Moving on.

And then we have Lexi.

Lexi must have a problem. Her control over her vagina is embarassing. Seriously. The guy did you wrong, you made all that drama over it, and then after six years he just touches you and
[image error]
All is forgiven???

HELL NO! Make him pay,girl!!!

I'm not really sure why, but I ended up liking Lexi. Even if she was a total pushover sometimes, I liked her. Go figure...Oooh, but what she did to that bitch faced slut...

WELL DONE!

I loved the plot. I couldn't put this book down. GREAT DRAMA! Loved it.

P.S.: WHAT WAS THAT CLIFFHANGER??? My mind is screaming for the next book! Trish, Just Trish is going to be great! I can feel it deep in my bones!

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.
=======================
The idiot was having sex in the bathroom of our mutual friend’s house and he didn’t want to get caught.

The moaning continued and I heard the girl beg, “Harder...harder!” Lan followed the begging up with a barked, "Shut up!"

I watched as Destiny, Bitch-From-Hell, Tarson, the school whore, walked out with a satisfied smile on her face. When she saw me, that smile immediately turned evil.

And there he was. Landyn...Lan. My Lan.

Finally, Destiny broke the spell when she spoke, “Ignore her, Lan. Let’s just go back to the party.”

“I hate you, Landyn. I don’t want to hear anything you have to say to me. I never want to hear the sound of your voice again.”

“How long have you been fucking her while you were fucking me, huh? Is she the only one? Were you at least considerate enough to use protection?”

“But you really need to watch how you speak to me and don’t ever grab me like that again.” I stared him down for a minute.

“No!” he shouted so violently at me I sank back into my chair. This was a scary Ryan I didn’t know. “I don’t want him near you, Lex! You put on this act like you have everything under control when really you’re still just as childlike and immature as you were when you got pregnant! Hell, even when I met you!”

“You left me! What you did to me...God! How dare you blame me! You forced me to leave you. I never would have left you. They would have had to drag me away by my hair kicking and screaming before I EVER would have left you! You fucked a slut in a bathroom while I was standing outside the door listening! You made me leave!” I suddenly became conscious of the fact that I was now shouting and shaking uncontrollably.

I was no better than Destiny.

“You son of a bitch,” I hissed. “I can’t believe I just let you hurt me again. You used me-” I said in an embarrassingly tormented voice. “I hate you.”

He countered, “I didn’t want you seeing your ex. I’m worried about what’s going to happen between you two and I honestly think you’re stupid enough to go back to him. It’s making me crazy.”

“Ryan, you’re hurting me. Let go.” His grip tightened and his eyes blazed. “You’re hurting me,” I screeched.

He was gutting me. “I didn’t realize the connection we shared was that weak...weak enough that all it took was a whore to make you doubt me. I don’t want to hear anymore,” I whispered.

I looked at Lan who shifted uncomfortably in his seat and I was pissed.

Destiny was walking out of Landyn’s office, with Landyn trailing close behind. “Are you fucking shitting me?” I screamed.

“Everything fucked up in my life is because of you. You just can’t stop being a whore, can you?” Her eyes shut and her nose scrunched up like I’d inflicted a wound.

All the while, he continued to comfort Destiny while she was half propped up on his thigh.

“You know what, Landyn? Go to hell! You no longer exist to me. I never would have imagined telling you this way, while the slut you cheated on me with twice – that I know of – is laid out on the floor between your thighs, where you so clearly want her at all times.”

“I was five weeks pregnant and in this exact same situation the last time I caught you. At least this time, I won’t live with the regret of not telling you that you’re about to be a father.”

I didn’t know what to expect when picking this one up. I was in a bit of a book funk and needed something to capture my imagination, draw me in and take me on a wild ride and boy, did it ever live up to those expectations. I can safely say that, for at least the first half of the novel, I had no clue what direction we were going to take and who was actually friend or foe.

We start off the story in High School – Lexi and Landyn have been sweethearts for years and they are completely in love with one another. Until Landyn betrays her one drunken night and Lexi runs and keeps running, taking with her a secret and we re-join Lexi some six years later. She’s renting with Trish, her best friend from High School, and working in a bar to make ends meet. She’s also dating a pretty decent guy called Ryan but Landyn is about to come roaring back into her life and, even after all these years, she’s still smarting from his betrayal and doesn’t want anything to do with him.

I really loved Landyn – yes, he’s incredibly arrogant and self-possessed but he’s never gotten over Lexi and loves her still to this day and isn’t about to give up on her without a fight now that he’s found her again. He’s tall, strong, tattooed, protective, possessive, intense – just the way I like them!! Under that tough exterior, beats a heart of solid gold and he will do just about anything to makes things right with Lexi. He’s very sexy and his ability to turn Lexi into a hot mess of desire really will have you reaching for a fan!!

“I love you Lexi. You’re going to be mine for the rest of your life. You’ve always been mine.” His voice was firm. “I’m not afraid to admit how much I need you, baby. I was afraid before, but I’m not now. I won’t hurt you again. Ever,”

Le Sigh!!

Lexi was a lovely heroine. Raised by two hippie parents, she’s a free and caring soul but, boy, can she hold a grudge!! OK, Landyn made a pretty terrible mistake but she has made him suffer for it in the cruellest way possible and I did question some of her decisions and the way she jumped to conclusions without listening to any one else’s side of the story. Other than that, I laughed with her, I despaired with her and I also fell at Landyn’s feet with her.

This was a great fix for my book funk – the story absolutely hit the ground running and never let go until the last page was done and, even the epilogue, is a heart-pounder. Every character was vividly drawn, I saw them clearly in my imagination and knew them so well and, thankfully, there is to be a sequel starring Lexi’s best friend, Trish. This is a super sexy story with a truly awesome hero and another truly awesome hero in waiting. Lynda LeeAnne sure knows how to write a gorgeous, over-protective alpha male!!

I really really wanted to love this book by all the reviews I read but I just couldn't!

Firstly, I didn't connect with the strong bond of their relationship for me to root for Landon seeing as we are introduced to him after having just cheated on the heroine.

Secondly, his possessiveness was not appealing to me. I love alpha-domineering man(Hawk Delgado-Mystery Man as example) but I just wasnt feeling the way he was talking to her.

Thirdly, setting up Ryan as a villain just felt superficial

Fourthly, I really disliked Lexi's constant accusation to Landon for the past. She says she forgives him and at the slight sight of Destiny she throws it right back in his face. He should have pushed for her to let this go once and for all before they reunite!

Fifthly, the whole story felt rushed to me

Six-the relationship between Trish and Tony shadowed low character for Trish.. I can't back her character after he did what she did to her boyfriend who was her first love.. Not believable!

Sadly this book was not enjoyed by me.

Self note:
Cheating.
H cheated on h 6 years ago. In a party in front of everyone. He was in a bathroom with high school ho. Later on, we found that he used a condom and didn’t come…
During separation h is with OM and this man is the one that treats h and H’s daughter as his own. H doesn’t know about his daughter. The om turns into an abusive bf. We have a detailed (at least one) scene of OM and h having sex. Another scene where OM tries to force h and almost abuse her. She ended in hospital.
H is not celibate either during separation. One girlfriend and some random women. The gf calls him Lan because h used to call him that and he wanted the same that he had with h but thought a reconciliation was not going to happened.
Then again she is pregnant and found him with ow (the same one) and thought he cheated again. He didn’t this time. h’s bff decided to finally revenge ow and in her engagement party (of ow) the bff pretend to sleep with ow’s fiancé and send her the photos. But because she was with ow’s brother. They broke up and I guess they would have a book. So, when h found H and ow was because ow was searching for h’s bff

EXCERPT OF WHY HE CHEATED:

I shook my head. “Why did you cheat on me, Lan?” I asked sadly. “Was I blind? Did I just love you too much?”
“No!” he stated firmly. “It had nothing to do with you baby.” He turned me to face him. “It was a mistake. God, I don’t even want to think about how stupid I was. I had way too much to drink and Destiny...” At the mention of her name, I tried to pull back from him, but he wouldn’t let me.
“Listen to me, Lexi. There is no excuse for what I did. All I can do is tell you why.” He bent his head and kissed my tears away.
“I was drunk, to the point of nearly passing out. Destiny followed me around everywhere I went whispering things about you in my ear every chance she got. I don’t remember everything she said, but I know she placed doubts about our relationship in my head.”
He was gutting me. “I didn’t realize the connection we shared was that weak...weak enough that all it took was a whore to make you doubt me. I don’t want to hear anymore,” I whispered.
“Baby, you were so fucking beautiful and didn’t even know it or…you just didn’t care. You still are, even more so. I always worried that one day it would finally hit you, just how much better you could do than me. I’d also received one of my father’s infamous phone calls that day, and again, that’s not an excuse, it’s just what was going on in my head and why I drank so fucking much that night. I was throwing up in the bathroom when Destiny locked herself inside with me. She wouldn’t stop touching me and telling me that she would take care of me since my own girlfriend left me to take care of myself. I was mad at you because I wasn’t thinking clearly. To this day, I still don’t remember everything.”
He took a deep breath and continued.
“I do remember exactly how I felt when I walked out and saw you; the look on your face. It was like being drenched with a bucket ice water and it sobered me up fast. I remember wanting to hold you and you looking at me like I just destroyed your life. And I knew I had too, because I was destroyed and you were my life. I remember you asking me if I used a condom—” he started, but I cut him off.
“Please stop. I don’t want to hear this,” I whispered, my eyes pleading with him not to continue. He lifted both hands, framed my neck and pulled my face closer to his. “I have to tell you this, baby. For some reason that question always ate at me. I know you don’t want to hear it and it probably won’t matter, but you need to know...I need you to know. I did. I know for a fact I used a condom, because when I took it off, it was empty. I never even came.”

Another four star read for me. It was good, but not a book that will stay with me for a long time to come.

I did love Landyn! I'm thinking that we should take bits and pieces of our favourite sexy alpha male book boyfriends, wrap them all up in a little 'How To' guide book and give them to our real life men for Christmas! What do you think? Because, I don't know where these super hot, protective, possessive, panty melting men hang out, or if there's some kind of 'SHPPPMM' club, where you go to pick out your very own personal doting hulk, that I've not been informed about... but it sure isn't in my home town!

“You think this is funny? Did you like him touching you?...Take off your clothes,”
“What?”
“I’m feeling the need to mark my territory and I want you right here. Right now.”

Gah, Landyn! *drool* How hot is he?! I wasn't sure about him at first. He just came across as bossy and arrogant, but I was soooo sold by the end. I definitely wouldn't kick him out of bed for a biscuit!

He treated me like I was his heart; like he needed me to exist; like he'd do anything in his power to make me happy.

And I really liked Lexi too. She was ballsy and strong. I like a heroine that knows her own mind and doesn't take any crap, and she was definitely that. I think 'whooop'ed out loud when she laid 'Dest' out! Yeh boi! But she was an ordinary, down to earth, young Mum and I loved her thought processes.

I just showed my true colors by hoe-bagging it around with my baby daddy.

The sub characters were great too. Trish was a fab BFF, Adam was swoonworthy and Layla was adoooorable!

The story reminded me a lot of Trying To Score, the second book in the Assassins series, by Toni Aleo, which I enjoyed equally. But like I said, it didn't hit any deep emotional buttons or have my heart thumping out of my chest at any point, so I knocked a star off. But definitely worth a read in my opinion.

I’m going to start this book tonight... yeah, that turned into I’m going to ignore everyone/everything on my Saturday night and finish it in one sitting. It was fairly short and I couldn’t put it down!

“You’re mine Lexi! No matter what happens, you’re mine! Do you hear me?”

This story starts out with Lexi and Landyn. Oh Landyn... He screwed up in the beginning. I don’t want to spoil too much, so I will just say I loved this book! There was a lot of drama, but it was great!

Lexi only wanted to do what she thought was best for her and her family. I enjoyed her character, she was a funny one (I just showed my true colors by hoe-bagging it around with my baby daddy.) lol. Trish... Is there a better best friend out there? I loved her!!! Now thats a best friend for life! I really wished we were lesbians. So happy the next book in the series is hers. It kind of left me hanging on whats going on there...

Now to the guys... Lan mmmm! That man made me melt! At first, I didn’t want to like him, but he loved Lexi so much, he was so alpha and overprotective- but in a good way. And he was so sweet to Layla, I couldn’t help it. I loved Lan!
“I’m glad you think I’m unbelievable, baby, and I will never stop calling you baby. I refuse to call you what everyone else does because you’re not theirs, you’re mine.”
Ryan, I’m not even going to go there right now... but I will talk about Adam(swoon) the third book is about him, yes, please!

A really good read, loved the epilogue! I will most definitely be reading the rest of this series!

“I love feeling like I belong to you.” His arms squeezed me almost painfully. “You do belong to me Lexi. Just as much as I belong to you.”

Warning - This book contains a cheating Hero and a weak willed Heroine.

I gave this two stars because, of all the red flags flapping about, which were ignored, by the TSTL heroine. I just want to clarify that I love reading about possessive alpha-male men, but only when the main female is strong willed and in control of her own life.

What I liked;

- There was some hot alpha male-take-me-now action (swoon).

description

What I didn't like ;

- Melodramatic plot - Whew!

- The main characters - I wanted to yell and give them the evil glare every damn second at times.

Heroine (Lexi)- Was in desperate need of a backbone transplant. She was weak willed and at times TSTL. For example, She really didn’t mind that the hero (Lan) rang up and quit her job for her. I mean come on if my boyfriend came home one day and said 'oh by the by babe, I quit your job for you, you were starting to be too stressed out for my books, no don't thank me babe , everything I do is for you'… this is how I would react

description

This is how Lexi reacted
description
Yep just let that worm walk all over her

The fact that she - just felt spiteful and wrong. I felt no connection to her and didn't care what happened to her

Hero (Lan) - Lan, Lan, Lan... oh this book left such an opening for me to rain down on him with bullets. First off he I felt like king hitting him or hiring these guys to do it

description

Then when Lexi gave into his sexual wow-hot-damn-factor gave him another chance, he was a stupid, smug idiot afterwards. I wanted to slap him stupid and show him shove his ass out of the door

description

When he left Lexi alone to do work when, she really needed his support, I was flabbergasted (yes I used that word).

So in summary- If you can look past a idiotic heroine, over-smug hero and a drama filled plot, then read this. Though you also have to be able to put your inner feminist/red flag warning part of yourself, in a cage, until it’s over. But I warn you, that part will probably act like this when you let it out.

Lan gave me a beautiful white gold promise ring. He said, “Lexi, baby, I love you. This is so damn cheesy, but I want you to have this as a promise of our life together. I swear, as soon as I can afford it, I’ll replace this with a diamond. Just stop worrying about what’s going to happen between us, okay? You’re mine Lexi and everything’s going to be fine.”

...That was Landyn's promise to Lexi up until the "incident" happened the night at a party, which broke up their perfect relationship. From then on, life has been a rollercoaster ride for both Lan and Lexi...

I'm keeping this review short to avoid spoiling it for you guys 'cause I want you all to read it. I LOVE this book so much! The story started with a peek of Lexi's diary telling us what went down the night at the party, and I think it's a brilliant start. I love all the characters especially Trish because she's such a good friend. I love how she always swears 'cause it's freakin' hilarious :D I adore Lexi as well 'cause she's funny. And then of course, the hero, Lan! I love how he's cocky and arrogant, and I love how possessive she is of Lexi. Some of my favorite lines from him:

“I do remember exactly how I felt when I
walked out and saw you; the look on your face. It
was like being drenched with ice water and it
sobered me up fast. I remember wanting to hold
you and you looking at me like I just destroyed
your life. And I knew I did too because I was
destroyed and you were my life.”

“I’m glad you think I’m unbelievable, baby,
and I will never stop calling you baby. I refuse to call you what everyone else does because you’re not theirs, you’re mine.”

“I love you Lexi. You’re going to be mine for the rest of your life. You’ve always been mine.”

Now, go ahead and READ this. And you won't regret it ;)

Why did I ever read this one? Why??? Maybe because I’m insanely attracted by what is dysfunctional and abnormal, of course, I’m a psychologist! This was bad, really. An immature story of two teenagers who break up because she caught him f*****g the greatest ho of all school in. A. Bathroom. Yes, in a bathroom. Really! I understand they are 18 and hormonal and immature but I completely agree with the young heroine who told him she wanted to never see him again. At least. There’s a big mistake in this.Teenagers are often more committed than adults in their relationships so it was really nasty what the boy did to her, and he had the gall to tell her he loved her. Ahahahahah! Imagine if he didn’t. Then the story goes on 6 year and we find out she had a daughter, his daughter, and he doesn’t know. And she also has an abusive boyfriend. Then I was yawning because it was all so messy and predictable, and it was like looking at two teenagers shouting at each other like there’s no tomorrow.
His reasons for cheating are disgusting, he had other women and she had a creepy boyfriend while apart.
Both are very disagreeable.
The scene are overly theatrical. Too many drama queens here.
Oh, and an 18 year old boy would never tell to justify his behavior that he’s too young...
So we understand that this is a book for teenagers but not written by a teenager.
The only positive thing is that I learnt so many slang of teenagers in English! That was fun.

I don't know what all the fuss is about! Against my better judgment I decided to read a book knowing it had one of my major hard limits: CHEATING . There were just so many reviews about how sexy, alpha, and possessive the hero was and that he fights for her after his mistake.

Really? When did that happen? He cheats on her, which honestly going into the book I knew it was going to happen so I didn't allow myself to get emotionally invested in the story so it didn't bother me, and he calls her a bunch of times and then nothing.

Fast forward 6 years and he finds out a secret she's hiding and BAM he shows up at her door. Wtf? If he knew where she was or was so easily able to find her why didn't he come sooner? Now because of the secret it's like ok..now lets get married I'm not letting you go. LOLZ

It was just ridiculous. I love an alpha but it was just too pathetic for words how ridiculous it was. I would have found it more interesting if he hadn't been able to find her and kept searching for years but to only come knocking when he finds out her secret?

Oh he never even grovels or has to work for her either. Are you serious? He cheated on you and straight up within the first 20mins of being alone together after 6 years you let him fuck you? LOL. Too stupid for words.

I will say that I read the third book (had to skip book 2 because I'm not interested in reading about an emotionally abusive hero) and I'm so glad I did. You can see such a drastic difference in the quality of the authors writing between book 1 and 3. Not sure if this was her debut novel so if so...at least she got better over time.

3 ⭐'s

It was time to pull out an oldie...a book that's been in my TBR pile forever and maybe there was a reason it was left there. ~sigh~ Don't get me wrong...the story was just o-k-a-y but nothing exciting although I give it high marks for trying to be.

Actually that's not entirely true. The book has a bit of over the top drama. It starts off with Lexi catching Lan having sex in the bathroom at a house party. Naturally, she's outraged and things go progressive downhill after that.

Fast forward six years and Lexi is finally graduating college. There's a reason she hasn't seen Lan in all that time but of course, she runs into the girl he had sex with and then Lan makes an appearance.

Lexi's in a relationship and not a great one which was surprising. I was a bit shocked at some of the things she allowed to happen. Seems she is drawn to the over possessive type males...just like Lan is now. (It's hard to know if he was that way before as there isn't much story about their past.)

One thing I really did like is that we get more story of them in the "after". We also get to know the two main characters in the next books, Trish, Just Trish and Adam, Enough Said, and I am a bit curious as to how their stories turn out.

Reread: January 2020 (first read: January 2016)

*****Major Spoilers Ahead*****

Lexi & Landyn's story:

What I enjoyed the most about this one was the secret baby trope; it gave me all the angsty feels. I also enjoyed Lexi's best friend, Trish, so I can't wait to read her book (it's a rarity that I love the BFF in romance books). Lexi's daughter, Layla, was also very likable; the only tear I shed was for her and it was from one single question she asked her daddy (oh, my poor bleeding heart). The book was fast paced, in my opinion, and it always held my interest. However, I didn't love this book as a whole. I won't describe all the issues, just the main ones: I felt like things between Lexi and Landyn developed too quickly after seeing each other again, and it didn't feel believable enough. This story was very similar to book 3, but I enjoyed that one so much more. I'm also not sure how I feel about Landyn cheating. Yes, it was only once and he was young, drunk and confused, but it was still a hard pill to swallow. Especially because Lexi took him back so easily after he showed up at her door 6 years later. And would he have ever looked for her if it wasn't because he found out they had a daughter together? I did also question Lexi's decision to keep his daughter a secret from him. Regardless, at the end, I did fully buy into Lexi & Landyn's HEA. Gah, all their babies! <3 Anyway, these are just my personal opinions, and I have to put them here for my future self who probably won't remember any of this.

Another Note: Like his brother Adam (from book 3), Landyn is also a major alpha bossy bastard. Which I love.

What I didn't like

• I hated the way this book began . I didn't expect it to start like that! The author didn't even let us the time to appreciate the characters (especially the hero).

• I didn’t like the atmosphere of the book.

• Though 6 years passed between the prologue and the rest of the story, there was no character development.

• I found Lexi too weak. She should have resisted Landyn more!

• Once Landyn came back into Lexi’s life everything felt too rushed and too convenient.

Omg guilty pleasure!!

I was instantly hooked. Now while I loved this, thats not to say I didn't have a couple of issues with this book...
I really can't stand the cheating aspect and I was so desperately hoping for this to be a mistake 😔 all the way to the end.

I feel the h was too easy to forgive the H. Now while I don't condone her for not telling the H about the baby, I can fully understand her thinking at the present time. I feel the reasons for why he cheated wasn't fully explained that well and didn't really make sense to me (personally there is no reason for cheating in the first place)

I loved how OTT the H was and once I got past his indiscretion he was so sweet.

Despite all of that I found this yummy 🥰

I usually like and want books with some drama and angst but everything about the drama in this book was a hot mess. Like when a dog starts scooting their anus all over your white carpet mess.

At a party at the end of high school, she hears her bf effing destiny, the ho, in a bathroom and she screeches that they're over and she doesn't want to see him again. And oh, surprise! She's 5 weeks pregnant 😐🤦

She meets some dude at the bar she works at and she's with him for two years. Then they run into destiny the ho again and he knows her because she is the sister or half sister or his friend? Ryan the new bf tells her to not talk to landyn the H again or they're over but she tells him that they need to discuss parental but he's not having it 🤷 hurts her wrist while grabbing her

Landon tries reeeeeeeaaaalllllyyyy hard to be ott hip but he just sounds like a smelly douche. He tells her to stop working at the bar or work with him and that her relationship with Ryan is over and yada yada 😐🙄 she yells a lot and screeches a lot and hurt ma brain.

She tells Her parents that landyn is back in her life and her mom says "make love, not war". At that point, I cringed so hard 😳😬😬😬😂🤦

The reason why he cheated? He was so drunk, he had her whispering in his ear and.....that was it. What a dumb fucking reason to cheat on someome. But it's all good, he checked the condom that he had the wherewithal to put on and there was no ejaculate in there. All good folks! He won't put on a condom to prevent pregnancy while they're 18 and in high school but he'll do it for destiny the ho while drunk out of his mind. Okur.

She yells and screams a lot. Very sexy.

This was no fun! NO. FUN.

Should I like this book? No.
Did I enjoy every minute of reading this book? Yes.

I sat down at 8:30pm with the intention of reading just the free sample before bed. The next thing I know it is late into the night and I had devoured the entire book in one sitting. The pace of the story was incredible and I couldn’t put it down because I HAD to know what would happen.
This review will be challenging to write because I don’t want to ruin your experience by giving too much away. There are some surprising twists and turns that I didn’t see coming WHICH of course is always the best part of a book. So here goes my best effort.

This book is a New Adult book which started off with a YA feel and completely morphed into an Adult read; it was the perfect cocktail for my taste. So why shouldn’t I love this book? Because it is filled with what I believe to be relationship deal breakers and red flags that we’re (or at least I was) taught as women to watch out for. I found myself feeling semi ashamed for rooting for, trusting and then falling in love with the hero of this book, but I honestly couldn’t help it. I also found myself worried for our heroine because of the choices she was making; she too, had made a huge mistake in her past. Near the end, I realized I shouldn’t doubt her; I needed to trust that she was capable of making the right decisions for herself. She was both strong and naïve at the same time, but I did respect her.

We all make mistakes and some are harder to forgive than others. The relationships in this book pushed my boundaries of acceptance and forgiveness. It always surprises me when I emotionally respond to something completely different than how I assume I would in real life. Reading this book made me question myself and think hard about what I would feel and/or do in the situation. I’d like to think I would make different choices but then who am I to say what the right choice is for someone else? Both the hero and heroine were young and following their hearts and in the end, I was happy that the characters made the choices that were right for THEM.

So why did I love this book? It grabbed me from the first page and kept me hooked all the way through. It had a touch of angst, had both tender and steamy moments, was laced with the perfect amount of humor AND included an intense Alpha male. I loved the dialogue and honesty of the hero and heroine. No games were played and feelings were shared freely & regularly. I usually struggle with books where time is lost and regrets are heavy but by the end of this book I was happy about the present & future and not fixated on what could have been.

A small critique: The book is quite short. Although the story is told mostly from the heroine’s POV, I felt that more time could have been spent on explaining the hero’s choices, mistakes/regrets and his road to forgiveness. Because his past played a role in his motivations, I wanted to understand him and the pain he was feeling on a deeper level (maybe I’m just greedy).

Bottom Line: I will definitely be picking up the other books in this series when they’re released!

It took me a lot of time to decide reading this book, because I really disliked the synopsis and when I don’t like that the book pretty much loses all interest for me. Still, it was always appearing on my recommendations and one day I found myself bored and decided to see the reviews. One amazing review totally got me and I started reading it immediately… and boy, was I missing out!

description

First let me start with Landyn. He’s an alpha-male to the core. He’s possessive, protective, absurdly sexy and strongly passionate. And he was completely in love with Lexi. Obsessively in love with her. Until that one day then went to a party days before they went to college and he gets insanely drunk and the Destiny, the school whore that always wanted a piece of him start sayings things and making him doubt of Lexi and he’s so drunk that actually believes it and have sex with her in the bathroom. And Lexi finds out and have to hear EVERYTHING. She broke up with him immediately and says that never wants to hear from him again. He tries to explain, but understandably she doesn’t want to hear him and goes away. And then leave town and go to college to don’t have to see him again.
The last thing she hears from him, it his yelling saying to her;

“You’re mine Lexi! No matter what happens, you’re mine! Do you hear me?”

Six years later, Lexi is with Ryan and never heard from Landyn again after the break up and after he stopped trying to call her. Until the day that because of an unfortunate coincidence Landyn finds out that Lexi hided something from him all those years and go back to her, decided to do everything on his power to mend the past and get back what is his.
And believe me when I tell you he is an alpha-male. The way he acts after he gets back is insane, he’s taking no prisoners! He knows what he wants and he has absolutely no problem pursuing it. And don’t feel bad for Ryan (Lexi’s boyfriend). He is basically an asshole. She’s way better with Lan, they belong to each other. This is obvious five seconds after they laid eyes on each other after six years.

description

This book is an emotional roller-coaster since page one until the end of the epilogue. But it’s a great ride! Landyn is great. Lexi is also great, she is a strong badass girl, that already had too much on her plate and take shit from no one and Trish is just awesome. She is probably the greatest best-friend ever created. Adam is also very good and .
This is a page-turner that you’ll love to read. It totally worth the angst! :)

This book really did come out of left field and in honor of that I placed the gif of lefty C.J. Wilson on top (of this review, that is)

I am making a new shelf and it is called ‘TotallyBooked’ in honor of Gitte and Jenny. With an ever-growing TBR list of close to 200 now, I probably wouldn’t have picked this book up if not for the review of TotallyBookedBlog; once I read their review I sampled and purchased this book and did not put it down until finished.

The characters were funny, adorable, alpha-hot, some a bit cray cray; all things I like in my book people. The storyline was addictive and had the right amount of angst, misunderstanding, humor, steam, drama, and resolution to keep me flipping those pages with a smile and an “oh-no” plastered on my face.

Very impressed with this new author as this is her debut novel and goodie for us, we get two more books in this series!

A few fav lines:

“Now that’s a best friend for life! I really wished we were lesbians. Of course there was always Trish’s random, but fairly consistent cursing of, “that stupid, son of a bitch, asshole, bastard Landyn!”

“Sweet baby Jesus, he had a dimple! Only one. Right cheek. Deep. I wanted to lick it. I wanted to lick him!”

“I just showed my true colors by hoe-bagging it around with my baby daddy”

The writing was immature and awkward - way too much telling and not enough showing. We miss the beginning of their “amazing” love story and start on the night he cheats. Which makes it hard to care about them.

The reason the hero cheated was dumb. He never really took responsibility other than to be upset he faced consequences. We never get a a comeuppance for the evil OW. Instead of the H confronting his past, the h misconstrues a new situation and punches the OW, but due to the circumstances it puts the h in the wrong instead of the OW. 🙄. The H went crazy looking for the h when she first ran away, but eventually gave up. The only reason he comes looking for the h 6 years later is because he found out she has his kid.

The h never intended to tell the H about his child. Not ever. 🤨 And the first time she’s alone with the H, she has sex with him. No condom. With a known cheater. Awesome. Also, the longest, most detailed sex scene is at the beginning with her boyfriend, the OM. I was really squicked out. 😵‍💫 The sex with the hero is low detail, in comparison, or just fade to black. 🤦🏼‍♀️

It gets an extra star for high drama but overall this wasn’t good. Not enough angst to be a true rage read due to the writing style and narrative choices. And rage reading is really the only reason I pick up books like this. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

So womp-womp.

It happens to me all the time. I pick up a book that’s been hyped up and I’m stoked to get started. I start to get hooked… then it happens.

Boy and girl meet…
Boy and girl fall in love…
Boy and girl have conflict and girl gets her heart broken…
Boy pulls on his smoldering, sexy smile promising he loves her…
Then… DUHN DUHN DUHNNNNNNNNN

Girl forgives all and everyone lives happily ever after…

And I’m pissed off that there is yet another book where the heroine breaks for a sexy smile and sweet words with no questions asked. I’m calling Bullsh** on that one ladies.

If you are like me and want your heroine to make her alpha male repent for his sins (and maybe experience a little pain in the process) then LOOK NO FURTHER!!! Thank GOD for Lynda LeeAnne. There is finally an author that writes for the strong willed women.

In Lexi, Baby the reader gets to experience Lexi and Landyn’s relationship from teens into adult-hood, meaning we get to see the immature, young love grow into the more meaningful, mature, adult love. Ms. LeeAnne writes the teen romance aspect of this book realistically. These aren’t teenagers that talk and act like adults. These are teens that act like (gasp!) TEENS! Yet another reason I love this author.

After getting to read about these two characters growing into adults and getting to see their relationship play out as they age and real life comes into play, I totally fell 100% in love with Lexi, Baby. I cannot stress all of the factors that I love about this story. I loved their relationship. I loved the strength that Lexi had to pull of one of the most difficult things a woman would ever have to do… single motherhood. I loved Landyn’s hot, alpha-ness. I love Lexi’s bestie, Trish. I could go on and on, but I’ll spare you.

Let’s be honest we all love reading about an alpha male. The only thing I love more is reading about the woman that isn’t afraid to get in said Alpha’s face about his a$$hole behavior. Lexi, Baby is a winner all the way around.

DiDi’s note:
I read this based on Lee’s recommendation and was totally drawn in, so drawn in I read BOTH LEXI, BABY and book 2 TRISH, JUST TRISH this past Sunday. I have seen LEXI, BABY tagged as New Adult, but to me it is more mainstream. So for those of you who, like me, are hesitant about reading New Adult because of lack of HEAs and all the angst, I strongly suggest you give LEXI, BABY and TRISH, JUST TRISH a try. The H/h’s start out as 18 yr olds, but they are adults by the time you get to the “meat” of the story.

Pretty good. The story line is a bit immature, but I did like the characters. Landyn messes up when he’s young, but I liked that he was remorseful and didn’t turn into a manwhore after she rejected him.

This series in general is entertaining in a shallow, non-serious kinda way. The books are written very simply, and the characters are OTT and not realistic. The H’s are very caveman(y) acting. So it’s sort of written in YA format with mature topics. Each book follows the same formula.... a)couple are in love b)there is cheating-or misunderstanding of cheating c)they spend x number of years apart d) H demands they reconcile e)some crazy ex tries to kill the h

That is the outline to each book, so to enjoy the series, you must be ok with that. There aren’t surprises, the characters are cookie cutters of each other, and they all end the same. They are “light” reads, there isn’t a ton of angst, you won’t cry or have deep reflective thoughts, it’s purely for enjoyment.

Book 3 closed with a epilogue 6.5 years in the future and ties the story up nicely.
