Needed More on Mental Wellness… or Exercise

Audiobook Review
When I first saw this audiobook’s title, it intrigued me. From my experience, I know that exercise and mental wellness are connected, so I was curious to listen to a book about the topic. Unfortunately, the book didn't really stress the connection between exercise and mental wellness. In fact, it didn't really stress *exercise* much at all. Rather, the book is more centered on the mindset you need to help you live a healthy life. Yes, exercise is discussed a little, including the author's circuit training routine. He also discussed choosing forms of exercise that interest you. But the book kept returning to the concepts of mindset and goal setting. It felt like the book was much more about that and related topics. The book also discusses other health-related topics like the importance of sleep. The book felt a bit repetitive in places. For instance, the author discussed the tangential topic of sleep in several places. Despite these shortcomings, the narrator did an excellent job, and I found the book pleasant to listen to.

If you are looking for a book strictly about what the title states, you will probably be disappointed in this book. If you like books that are about getting into the proper mindset to help the formation and maintenance of healthy habits, you may appreciate what this book has to offer.

I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.

No tricks, no gimmicks, do it for two minutes.

One of the best thoughts about getting the motivation for exercise, is just so it for two minutes as the book suggests. Anyone to two minutes z right? If you want to make a change, it takes effort and to be mentally committed to it. This book offers techniques for tracking, watching and how to continue especially when you start losing your motivation. It is a practical approach to what it takes to be present and looking forward mentally to the outcomes. This book emphasis tracking and monitoring to help break through those tough days. The book is well written and organized well. There could have been a little more research tied to the reasons why it is beneficial to do certain things as recommend in the book. Overall, this is not a book of gimmicks or tricks, it is getting down the basics me mentally and physically. It is a good read.

Good motivational guide for those who struggle doing exercise

I have not been doing exercise regularly buy have always wanted to. I have been looking for some motivational books to push me for doing exercise regularly. I think the book is well written and has had the element of motivating and inspiring one to do exercise. I think the scentific basis of the book could have been written well by providing more convincing evidence. Overall, the book is really good for those who want some inspiration to start doing exercise.

Great Read

I've been looking for a few books on mindset, productivity and overall wellness as I go into the New Year. This was so helpful to me, especially because it leaves room for non-traditional (non-gym) exercise which hasn't worked for me. The line that links movement to mental health was never clearer. Great resource.
