When a man doesn't go looking for trouble... Trouble finds him.
The team's ultimatum was simple: Either I get my life together, or I get kicked out of the league.
So the Ironfield Forge clip a leash around my neck and tether me to a veteran teammate for the season. I've gotta live in his house, carpool to practice, and obey his curfew. It's an infuriating deal...until I discover one curvy, gorgeous little perk.
Zinnia Zane.
My teammate's baby sister.
Last time I saw her, she was brave enough to look for trouble but too much of a princess to break any rules. Now? She's a tempting spark of pure innocence, all grown up and ready to make her own mistakes.
But teaching a good girl to go bad means hiding our relationship behind her big brother’s back—and when that brother controls my fate on the team, falling in love not only risks my own career but could shatter the team’s fragile peace.
Good thing I’ve got a plan.
See, the secret is…you don’t gotta behave to keep everyone happy.
You just gotta make sure no one finds out.
*** BEAU is a safe, best-friends-to-lovers baby-making romantic comedy featuring a too-hot-for-the-ice hockey player. As the superstar rookie of the league's newest team, the Ironfield Forge, Beau's gotta juggle the pressure of a hostile team, a relentless media, and his own ego...all while falling for the woman he isn't supposed to love.
With a guaranteed happily-ever-after and those famous hockey glutes, this new sports romance series from Wall-Street Journal Best Selling Author Sosie Frost is so naughty you'll have to read it in the penalty box!
Just last week, I was wondering whatever happened to ...Sosie Frost!
I was pleasantly surprised to be notified of the release of this book.
Beau Beckett is misunderstood—with a “can’t do anything right” reputation. He’s a magnet for trouble, though most of the things that happen really aren’t his fault.
He’s a rookie and the current bad boy of hockey which makes him a convenient scapegoat, whose shenanigans, (real and imagined) are ratings gold. His refusal to play nice is met with animosity from the media, coaches and his team mates.
We meet Beau after the fallout from a bar fight and it goes downhill for him from there. Don’t believe everything that you read because the optics can easily be blurred with crafty editing. Anybody can be made to look like a villain or a hero dependent upon personal agendas.
Add his childhood best friend, Zinnia Zane into the mix, her overprotective brother Oz (and Beau’s not by choice landlord), who’s desperately trying to protect his sister’s virtue, his clueless coach, his rag tag teammates and his ability to remember the small details and Beau’s hanging on by a very thin thread, thank goodness for his friend.
Highly Recommended: Read It!
Just know, IMO—Sosie put her foot in this story and never disappoints me. I’m convinced NOBODY does romantic comedies like she does. I laughed out loud many, many times and I think you will too!
Beau was portrayed in Adrian’s book as the young hotshot, so full of arrogance and conceit that he was almost useless as a team member. The author wrote a nearly impossible character to redeem, making this story of his rise and fall as much about his growing maturity as it is about his romance with Zinny. And yet, the romance itself is always front and center, as it is the catalyst for his transformation, giving him the necessary kick in the pants to start thinking beyond himself as well as the emotional safe space in which to start believing in his better self.
Like the first, this is another childhood-friends-to-lovers romance, yet it’s still fresh and unique because of the entirely different dynamic between Beau and Zinny. They’ve never denied their attraction to each other; instead their difficulties were rooted in her innate ability to see straight through to his heart, forcing him to become a better man despite his preferred path of self-destruction.
The author does an amazing job of delving into why someone would work so hard to succeed by destroying every chance they have at success. It sounds confusing, but that’s Beau in a nutshell. Since the long-range story arc throughout this series is focused on the development of the team, getting their star rookie out of his own – and the team’s – way is an important hurdle to overcome. Hockey is a brutal sport, a point the author doesn’t shy away from, as demonstrated in the way his fellow players let him learn the meaning of teamwork the hard way, letting him put his body where his mouth is.
I also really enjoyed the side story of Oz’s difficulties, his history with Beau’s brother, and how the two families are so deeply connected. I really hope the author chooses to explore Oz’s story more.
I loved seeing more of Adrian and Clover, and thought the role Adrian played in Beau’s evolution was perfectly in keeping with who we knew Adrian to be and what he thought of Beau from the first book. Not all of the continuity from Adrian’s story was seamless, but it’s superbly on point in all the areas that matter.
If you love hockey romances or bad boy/good girl pairings, you don’t want to miss this outstanding entry in what’s shaping up to be a terrific hockey series. All of the author’s hallmark hilarity and fast-paced, challenging, and insightful dialogue are in full force here, giving us a roller-coaster ride of emotions with a full head of steam. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
So we had a little tease of Beau and Zinny before and now we get the full thing...it doesn't disappoint.
Beau is you typical bad boy, with a twist. His eidetic memory leads him to do bad things to drawn out his constant thoughts but the only thing that really ever helps is his best friend Zinny.
Zinny is the good girl who sees the real person under Beaus bad boy persona. But when you throw in their sudden chemistry everything changes. Add in Beaus new Hockey team, her brothers new attitude, the media's constant villain of Beau and a surprise that will throw them both for a loop...this make for a GREAT read.
And let me add in that I was in tears several times for Beau, my heart ached for him.

Sosie has done it again! I absolutely loved Beau and am so excited for the rest of the series. Sosie promised spicy and she delivered. Beau exudes alpha male with his dirty mouth and superior skill in bed, but he still has such a wide heart and gentle soul that really shines through. I think everyone would want Zinny to be their friend! She is so kind and has an optimism to her that is definitely needed as these hockey players try to get it together. Zinny and Beau complement each other really well and it was so fun to read about their journey.

I live in a town with a new hockey expansion team, and I LOVE the Ironfield Rivets stories, so I was motivated to read this. It was a struggle to keep reading. I didn't see the motivation for Beau and Zinny to be together. I stuck it out and finally found it. It made me cry when Oz went off on Beau after the interview. I will stick with the series. I want to know how things go.

Normally I like this authors books. However, this one didn't work for me. I never really liked Beau. I thought Zinny was okay. It was nice to see them get their happy ending.
I absolutely loved it this story. Forbidden romances between the siblings of friends is a cliche but Ms Frost absolutely nailed making charming and funny characters that were refreshing to read about. The Ironfield Forge are a ragtag group of misfits that you can’t help but love and the underlying tension of the relationships and struggles to make them work team wise and romantically is amazing. I absolutely adored our hero and heroine. Beau and Zinnia’s story was wonderful and I love how we get to check up on the characters we love from the first book. I want more!

Dirty, dangerous, destructive, and trouble with a capital T Beau (Ironfield Forge Book 2) by Sosie Frost is a quick-witted, banter-filled second chance romance that has these characters tied up in knots while giving the reader moments of laugh out loud situations. As expected, Sosie Frost has developed characters that are so easy to fall for. Beau is the cocky, irreverent playboy hockey jock, so full of himself he doesn’t see his behavior as self-destructive. His know it all attitude does him no favors in the locker room or on the ice. Beneath all that bluster he's just a misunderstood man that doesn't really try to be understood. Zinnia gets him and he holds onto that possessively. Beau's seductive charm and confidence with Zinny’s body is off the charts hot, he is impossible to resist and Beau absolutely uses that to his advantage at every turn. Zinnia is his opposite. She is sweet, kind and innocence personified. While she may seem too good for Beau on the surface, Zinnia is exactly what Beau needs, he just hasn't figured that out yet. And when he does… fireworks! Beau and Zinnia's story is a second chance if he can curb his self-destructive tendencies. It's too little too late more often than not much to Zinnia's dismay. She misses her best friend, but they crossed a line and now she's torn between the friendship they had and all the pleasure and hopeful promise Beau has to offer if only he could see what she sees. In this case, Beau doesn't want to miss out, or give up on the best of everything he's ever had, but his understanding of what he has to offer and what Zinnia wants are not aligning. The plot is an emotional field of land mines; Zinnia's, Beau's and her brother, Oz's too. While Zinnia is trying to sort out her brother's denial and destructive behavior out of disappointment, she's trying to keep her own heart intact as Beau consistently batters it with his words, deeds and their unrelenting physical chemistry. These two work so well together physically, but the conversations, feelings and acknowledgement of the heart adds to all the chaos that finds, surrounds and envelopes Beau constantly. It's self-fulfilling prophecy hard at work. I also really enjoyed the sports elements of this book. Beau's talent and genius should be a boon, but for him, it's a disadvantage and not something he can trust to share. Overall, Beau and Zinny careen around the ice rink of love, hurts, right, wrong, good, bad, easy, hard. After the chaos settles, this amazingly talented and loveable man finally learns he deserves the love and respect of the only woman for him. There's so much promise for this romance couple and their HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and voluntarily share my review.
“Beau” is the second in the hockey series and takes place in Ironfield. This series is a male-female friends-to-lovers theme. If you are familiar with Mrs. Frost’s previous novels, you will realize Ironfield is the town for her football series. Some rich people have decided to have a third sport, hockey, to the town. Beau Beckett is the team’s hotshot rookie that gets into more trouble off the ice than he does on the ice. Beau tries to solidify his place on the new hockey team, he is also trying to navigate romance, love, and secrets with his best friend Zinnia Zane.
I was waiting for this novel to be available because in the first novel of the series, “Adrian,” Beau seemed as reckless as Mrs. Frost’s Lachlan character from her football series. However, I was disappointed that there were not many impulsive and reckless behaviors from Beau. The relationship between Beau and Zinnia is lukewarm to me. Throughout the novel, I was wondering where the true conflict was in the relationship. I expected (wanted) there to be more resistance from one or both due to the relationship going from best friends to lovers. The secondary plot with Zinnia’s brother and Beau’s brother was more interesting to me than Zinnia and Beau. I was disappointed that there was no resolution to that dispute at the end of the novel. However, this novel does analyze the emotional issues both Beau and Zinnia have faced over time and with the changing dynamics of their relationship. I think this series will be more about the emotional journey of romance and love than Mrs. Frost’s other series. The story of Beau and Zinnia was wonderfully written and was touching. It does end on a HEA with a quick introduction of the lovers of the third novel in the series, “Rome.”

BEAU, the latest romance book from Sosie Frost, is a blast. I am a huge fan of the authors’s work as her ability to intertwine entertaining melodrama and sexy dialogue in stories is hard to rival.
Zinnia is a sweet, compassionate woman with one vice: her best friend, Beau. If there’s trouble to be found, Beau will find it, whether or not it’s his intention. Zinnia isn’t just Beau’s best friend, she is also the younger sister of Ironfield Forge team’s goalie…who is also Beau’s older brother’s childhood best friend. A goalie that Beau lives with as part of his probation from a recent altercation. Talk about complicated. Zinnia and Beau have spent the last year apart after hormones got the best of them one night in their very long friendship. There’s a lot going on in this story but Ms. Frost handles it well in mixing the family drama, romantic angst, and comedy. There is also a captivating B-plot story.
When the story opens, Beau is immature and messy. No doubt about it, even though he has a good reason for his behavior, but if there’s one thing he’s unable to ignore, it’s Zinnia. She’s on his brain and in his heart. If there’s something Beau is terrible at, it’s opening up about his feelings… except with Zinnia. She really sees him and inspires him. She’s the woman of his dreams and he’s a man who doesn’t feel worthy of her yet wants to win her heart anyway. It makes for an intriguing read that necessitates self-reflection and a need for growth from Beau to show Zinnia (and others) that he is a good man. It’s a good journey for him and as a reader I was happy to go along for the ride. I honestly could have easily read another hundred or so pages of this couple as there is something about them that makes them easy to root for to find their happiness.
Welcome back to the Ironfield Forge hockey team! Meet Beau and Zinny…
Beau is a hotshot rookie and Zinny’s lifelong best friend. Zinny is Oz’s sister. Oz grew up as the best friend of Beau’s brother. This matters (read and see why)! Beau and Zinny dip their toes in the romance pool that leads to a year-long rift between the two. Zinny comes to stay with her brother in Ironfield to help him through a difficult time. Guess who else is staying with Ox? And cue the sparks…Beau and Zinny try, unsuccessfully, to ignore their attraction. This results in some very spicy scenes, lucky us.
Frost writes a story that had me laughing out loud, sighing, feeling annoyed, crying, and happiness. Her stories, and characters, are engaging. She keeps the reader wanting more.
At times, I wanted to yell at Beau (but also speaks to Frost’s character development). My biggest con is Ox. Although he was going through something, I actually found myself having almost no compassion for him. Are these enough to not read the book? Absolutely not. This book is good!
If you’re a fan of Frost, you’ll get to spend some more time with Adrian, Clover, Mags, and the Forge players (Vasha had me cackling). Don’t hesitate to borrow from KU or one-click this book! If you haven’t already, check out Frost’s other books. You won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait for Rome’s book.

This is the 2nd installment of The Iron Forge series and its Beau's story. I was looking forward to this book because Beau's seemed like he got into trouble, a lot. And I couldn't wait to see what happened with him. But to be honest, it was boring trouble. And it wasn't as if he was the cause of most of his troubles.
I didn't really feel the love between him and Zinny. It was more of just sex. I don't really know what they lobed about each other, it her than they were good in bed .
Their brother's story seemed more interesting than theirs.
And also the next book is about Rome, who shows up in the last chapter and we know nothing other than he's a fantastic goalie. I was hoping it would have been some else on the team, not some random dude. Because that's what he is.
Also I'm getting really tired of these over the top scenes in Sosie's books (like the dogs in the arena). To me, they're not as funny as they used to be. They're just too much chaos.
The moment I discovered that there was a new series from this writer,I immediately dropped everything to read the first book. Well I am still on the fence about this story. There was something missing in this story, and after being several chapters in ,I discovered what it was. This story lacked what this writers previously written books had and that's that sparkle. There is no sparkle.to.this.story,we get.a.few glimpses but nothing like what you are use to. The writer gives us a young couple in love, who we discover that grew up together. What we don't get is a connection with them until almost the end of the story. Also.way.is the heroin, not pursuing her career and just waiting around to have sex. There are moments when you see the hero struggling and you think we are about to the meat of the story and wham.nothing. Overall this was enjoyable but there is not that connection you would normally get.
Holy smokes Beau!! Even with his cocky attitude, I just loved him. There's so much to him and I enjoyed getting to learn things about him. He and Zinny have been best friends forever so that friendship, connection turned relationship was intense at times. I adored Zinny as well, she's sweet yet strong. There's such a great, fun chemistry between the two. I love how off the rails the guys from the Forge are, like a team of misfits and I'm so curious about these other players, hoping we get to dig in to them later as well. From the start I was curious about Zinny's brother, the goalie Oz and I'm crossing my fingers for his book at some point. The story pulls me in, has me feeling like I'm part of their world and loving every second! It's a perfect mix of laughs, intense, heat and sweet.

Beau is a rookie hockey player with a bright future if he doesn’t allow his off-ice activities to destroy his career. The team has decided that the way to ensure he stays on the right track is by having him live with Oz, an established player whose sister also happens to be the woman who he was best friends with until the one night they spent together changed everything.
Zinnia has always been sheltered by her big brother so when she doesn’t want him to be alone, she moves in with him. She has always done what was expected of her however when it comes to Beau she can’t stay away, let the complications begin.
Zinnia is exactly who Beau needs in his life so even though they had some angst and challenges to overcome they balance each other in a way that only makes their relationship that much more special.
This is the second book in this series, and this is Beau and Zinnia’s story. Beau is the arrogant bad boy rookie hockey player, and he is told to get his life in order, when his antics have him in trouble, veteran player is assigned to keep him in check, which includes living in his house, carpooling to practice, and sticking to his rules. Zinnia is the only sanity in his life, as these two have been best friends since childhood. Can Beau redeem himself? This is a well written friends / lovers’ romance, with an overprotective brother, family, friendships, angst, redemption, emotions, animosity, and love, which leads to an addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A fabulous five-star read. This is number two in the Ironfield Forge series and they could be read as stand-alone, but reading them as a tea just adds to the overall power. It wasn’t my favourite story by this author, if I am honest, but I did enjoy the story. Zinnia Zane is great, she comes across as younger than she is at times, but she matures before your eyes. Oz is one that I can’t wait to hear more from, I don’t know if we will get the chance, but I hope we do at some time, more than just being a grumpy older brother. Beau is a complex character and the more you get to know him, the better he becomes. This has the bones to be a great series, watching the Ironfield Forge become the team we know they can be.
Beau was an awesome story in the Ironfield Forge Series by Sosie Frost. After his behavior catches up with him, sexy hockey player Beau is put on a tight leash and given a warning. If he steps out of line, he loses his spot on the team. So he is forced to live with Oz, a veteran player and team leader on the team. So many rules to follow but then he finds Oz's little sister Zinnia in his room. Not only is she is teammate's little sister but she is also Beau's ex best friend. The ex part came after they agreed to one night together. Their story was definitely an exciting page turner and if you enjoy friends to lovers, teammate's little sister you will love their story. 5 stars.
This is the second book in this hockey series. Trouble tends to find Beau, whether he is looking for it or not, and he just can't win when he tries to fix things. This includes sleeping with his best friend, Zinny and then losing touch. That is until they both end up trying to stay at her brother's house, Beau because he needs to stay with a veteran team member, and Zinny because she felt the need to be there for her brother. Neither knowing the other is staying with Oz. As time went on their re-kindled their friendship and it started to turn to more, including sneaking around behind her brother's back, after he warned Beau about more than friendship with Zinny. This was a fun read and I can't wait to see what the author comes up with for the remaining books in the series!
Beau and Zinny have been best friends most of their lives. Then they had to go and ruin it and have sex. It’s been a year of no contact since then. Now that Beau’s been drafted as the rookie superstar of the expansion team, he has to prove himself. But he’s just making more and more enemies.
Zinny has come to town to help her brother Oz. He hasn’t been doing well since things went bad between him and his best friend, Beau’s older brother. But there’s a fly in the ointment, Beau is staying at Oz’s. Can Beau and Zinny co-exist in the same house? And what happened between Oz and his best friend?
They were best friends till one night they decided to have a one night stand. It changed everything. He ghosted her she was broken. Now Beau is in trouble again with his stunts, living with one of his teammates to put him on the straight and narrow. One one problem Oz is Zinnias brother and guess who shows up. Zinnia is home to help her brother not knowing that Beau is there. Can they get back what they once had? OMG amazing story of second chance love. If you love RomCom this is it. Pick it up today.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. You might come to the conclusion, Beau only gets through life by using his lower head. Might be a result of the inner workings of the head on his shoulder. And take Zinny into the mix, the only one who ever understood him - and you'll have an explosive mix. Add Oz, Zinny's older brother who's still protecting her and can't stand Rookie, Beau... A very Sosie-like story, with lots of hilarious dialogues and flying fists within the team. Loved it.
Beau and Zinny best friends once until they cross that invisible line of no return. It was never going to be the same again. Zinny now finds herself in Ironfield trying to sort out her brother who happens to come with Beau as a side attraction she was not counting on. Zinny finds herself naked and in bed with Beau. Will they start the bad decision making again or pass and move backwards to the safe zone of best friends again? Glad this series has started again.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I love these story. I couldn't put the book down. Great characters that will pull you into their story and pulls at your heart strings and emotions! Beau and Zinny have strong personalities, great chemistry and panty melting heat. They have some emotional baggage that comes with their friendship and potential interest in more. This story has drama, heart, hope, love, passion and family. The story flowed effortlessly with a few twists and turns that will keep you glued from start to finish.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. This is the second book in the Ironfield Forge Hockey series. Told from the POV of both characters, bad boy and up and coming ice hockey star Beau Beckett and his best friend Zinny Zane. She refused to give up on her love for the troubled sports star who is on Veteran's watch due to his unruly behaviour. Great storyline, fab characters and loved the HEA.

Beau and Zinny were best friends… until he took her virginity and then ghosted her. Why? Because he doesn’t think he’s good enough for her. But now she’s back and the attraction is there. The problem? They’re both living with her brother who doesn’t think Beau’s good enough for her. Plenty of drama as Beau seemingly does everything he can to sabotage his rookie season. Will the good girl save him or will they both go down? Now looking forward to reading Rome’s story… mystery goalie extraordinaire!
At first I had a.little bit of trouble getting into this book. There just seemed to be so much drama and back and forth. But once I got about three chapters in, I couldn't put it down. I laughed at part and other parts broke my heart with all the drama. I couldn't wait until I found out how it ended. The worst part is there are several story lines left unfinished. Now I'm dying to.see.how everything owns out.

Beau and Zinny were best friends until they hooked up. He panicked and ghosted her for a year, breaking her heart. He plays for the Ironfield Forge hockey team with her brother, so they end up running into each other. They rekindle their relationship and things get hot and heavy pretty quickly. If he can survive the ice and her brothers wrath they might get their hea. Good read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I could see a train wreck happening. Beau can’t stay out of trouble. So he’s living with goalie Oz, Zinnia’s brother. Zinnia is Beau’s best friend but to each other they are so much more. She’s the one who has always believed in him when he didn’t believe in himself. This is an amazing book. There are moments that are angsty but it’s all about growing up. I want to read Oz’s story!

Best friends to lovers is a tripe that can be done well or not. Sosie Frost delivers a story that captives and brings you in. She consistently brings a fun sexy and laugh out loud experience. Beau and his best friend Z have amazing chemistry. You're given supporting characters that add not distract from the book. I always look forward to a new release and have yet to be disappointed. Loving the 2nd install to this hockey series!
