A pretty decent collection of real life experiences with the supernatural. I do wish the show would investigate the claims rather than just recount them for the most part.
Uncanny: My first introduction to the cheesy Danny Robin’s, thanks to a recommendation from a friend. I only recently got into horror podcasts after stumbling on the Magnus Archives but this is my first dalliance with investigative non-fiction or “real life” ghost stories.
The whole set up of having two parapsychologists a ‘sceptic’ and ‘believer’ debate their sides on each case is super camp and often leads to incredibly earnest and unintentionally hilarious moments. Add in a line up of everyday people with big characters and a story to tell, the bumbling Danny Robins and some genuinely good ghostly tales- whether true or not- and I’m sold!
Haunted: Having to put my Haunted review here as it not on Goodreads currently. Haunted walked so Uncanny could run. I did enjoy this as a much slower less produced version of Uncanny. However my main critique is I really missed the sceptic versus believer analysis. Evelyn Hollows is the best bit of Danny Robins’ podcasts.
A really great listen, very interesting way of exploring all things spooky and love the experts input. Not quite enjoying season 3 as much as the rest, but that may be because I just love a British ghost story!
