This book is truly an emotional rollercoaster. One minute it had me crying from laughing so hard. The next minute I was screaming “Awe hell nah” and wanting to throw the book in the corner. The author must have known this would be the reaction of most readers as the next sentence I read after having this feeling was, “reader, don’t throw the book.” What the hell? At some point, I actually wanted to start a fire and throw the book in it but since I was reading my beloved Kindle, I couldn’t.

Many times I felt as if I could not continue to read this book as some parts are so dark and the main character was so stupid. But then I found that I could not put it down because I could not believe that one person could have so little respect for herself and be so stupid. Many times, I wanted to jump into the book and slap Lynnde (the main character). Have Mercy!

I think this book deserves the 5 stars that I am giving it because it brings about such an emotional response from the reader. You will go from laughter to wanting to hurt someone. My friend started reading the book as I was reading it and every time I spoke with her, she was ranting about this book like we were talking about real people. Too funny.

I am love sick and food is the cure

I really enjoyed this novel and felt like I received some answers to the low self-esteem issues. Ms. Hudson will do a number on your emotions with this one. You will want to kill the main character and other times you won’t be able to do anything but laugh because she just seems that dumb. Other times you will only feel compassion for her and want to treat her like she’s your child

We ride shot gun with Lynnette “Lynnde” Lee from the time of eighteen until forty. That may seem like a long time but I have to say it works well. The best of the book is the comic sarcastic commentary that is so on point it’s eerie. Lynnde gives new meaning to the statement “Looking for love in all the wrong places." Her love life goes from bad to worse with each new love interest. Her relationships are turbulent to say the least and through it all she has her cure all….food. Over the years we watch her struggle to keep a man all the while struggling with her weight. While obesity is a real issue in our society, I have yet to see it dealt with in this matter and was pleasantly pleased with the end result.

I recommend this book to all as it’s very insightful and will cause you to do some thinking about folks in your life. I look forward to reading books from Ms. Hudson in the future I love her writing style and the direct talking to the reader is a welcome change, especially because she got it right and predicted what I was thinking.

This book had me laughing so much and at time I was shaking my head thinking no one could be this dumb or stupid. Close to the end it had me in tears. This is a very good book that you'll remember for a long time. Wanda D Hudson has been added to my favorite author list.

Whew! What a hot mess! I hope and pray this was fiction because I can NOT even phathom this being someone's reality. Wanda's lack of worth in this book is beyond sad. I don't know what happened with the relationship with her father because in the beginning he had love and affection for her but as she began to struggle with her weight the verbal abuse was atrocious! This story was comical with a sad twist. Many times while reading I was screaming at Wanda. I got so mad, I threw my Kindle, put it down a couple of times to cool off and a few times pondered how we as women tend to lose ourselves in relationships when we say we 'love' a man...what extremes will we go though to prove that love? I am glad she finally found herself and the love she matures into receiving. Otto was a mess with his wanna be comeback self; and I was devastated when Esta died unexpectedly. I didn't see that one coming. I love the way the book was written, like she knew exactly what the reader would be thinking as they were reading it. It was a great read.m I laughed and my jaw dropped in unbelief!

Love Yourself!

In her novel, "Wait For Love," Wanda Hudson explores the evolution of one woman blinded by the idea of love - "I gave into any and everything a man wanted. My life's mission was to have one and make him happy even if I wasn't."

The protagonist, Lynnde, spends her young adulthood in pursuit of love. With a single-minded determination, Lynnde manages to go from one bad relationship (I use the term lightly!) to the next, only finding solace in food. As her emotions run the gamut, so does her weight. Will Lynnde ever find the love she so desperately wants?

There is no denying that Hudson knows how to draw readers into a story. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to jump into the pages of this book to either hug or hurt Lynnde. Hudson weaves a story that is both fresh and familiar. I enjoyed "Wait For Love" and look forward to reading more from this author.

I was able to make it 63% of this book before I completely gave up. I can't distinguish if the author was bad or it was just the character that annoyed me. I thihk it was both. The book was VERY repetitive. I got tired of the main character, Lynnde, saying the same thing over and over. I also did not like how Lynnde kept speaking to the reader. As far as those problems, that is definitely directed toward the author. I will say the author did do a good job as making Lynnded look totally stupid. I didn't feel bad for her at all. She was simply pitiful. I couldn't see myself continuing to waste more time reading this. I hate giving up on books, but I had to end the torture.

This novel is so witty and down right funny. WAIT FOR LOVE is definitely poignant in showing a black girl's struggles and challenges to overcome the obstacles she faces while meeting men who are not genuinely meant for her. While self-esteem is an issue in the main character's life, loving yourself first is the ultimate moral of this story. The author has a great sense of humor which will keep you turning the pages.
