When Dominic “Capo” Rossi tracks down a geneticist working on the resurrected Project Phoenix, the last thing he expects is the stunning Dr. Emilie Forrester. But, he must ignore the instant attraction because she works for the very enemy that he and his former Navy SEAL team have vowed to take down.
After Dom gets captured, Emilie discovers she is on the wrong side. She decides to help Dom escape, but the big, scarred man locked up in the glass cage doesn’t trust her and refuses to cooperate. Especially after he is reactivated and his extraordinary healing powers begin to mend old wounds—physical and psychological.
In order to bring down Project Phoenix, Dom and Emilie know they must work together. But, trusting each other is a huge risk. Especially when their hearts become involved.
**This is an interconnected series and each warrior finds his HEA in his story.
What a fantastic way to build on a solid series debut. Charissa Gracyk wastes no time re-immersing the reader in the suspense of Project Phoenix in her second book in the series: “Reactivated Dom.” Bringing the reader deeper into the backstory of her characters and their ordeal, Gracyk creates a solid connection between the reader and her characters. Then she turns up the heat with Dom and Emilie’s relationship, creating beautiful moments of depth, emotion, and even humor. Plus, the effortless banter between the Project Phoenix teammates reveals even more about their connections with each other. I even found myself smirking along with Emilie at some of Dom’s antics. The story of Project Phoenix is enhanced, nuanced further through greater character development of both the villain and the emergence of Dom & Oz’s teammates’ powers. Gracyk has definitely piqued my curiosity to see what comes next. And I have a feeling I will not be disappointed.
Having just found this author, I’ve read book 1, now book 2 and I’m jumping straight into book 3….you could say I’m quite addicted to the world this author has created.
In this book we read about Dom & Emilie and their journey to HEA, I really liked book 1, but I can easily say I enjoyed this one more, maybe because we had the connection to the characters from Oz’s book, and the ongoing storyline which developed even more.
This had it all, scorching hot romance, suspense, superpowers, funny banter between our Navy SEAL’s, tension and a great pace which kept me turning the pages.
Like I said at the start, I’m jumping straight into book 3. If you love your romance with a little suspense, and a unique superpower storyline then check this series out, highly recommend starting with book 1, Reactivated Oz
I received an ARC of this novel and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the second book in the series. I am a huge Sci-Fi fan and I love romance novels and this is such a fun combination. I would love to meet Dom in real life--I wish he were real (but don't tell my husband lol). Dom's story is super fun and fast-paced. I loved the heat between him and Emilie and I like that she started off as what he thought was his "enemy" but turned out to be his biggest supporter. I have always been a sucker for "enemies to lovers" romance novels but my absolute favorite aspect of this novel was Dom himself. I empathized with his self-consciousness over his eyepatch and loved that he was one of Lucky Luciano's descendants. His strong but sensitive personality was attractive and appealing. This is fun, escapist entertainment and kept me engaged. I highly recommend this for all romance novelist enthusiasts!
Look, I'm a sucker for uniforms. Really. If there's an uniform, I'm drooling all over it. I just can't help myself. So every once in a while I'm looking for military/police romances because... Uniforms. So when the opportunity of reviewing one of Charissa's work with these amazing Navy Seals showed up, I couldn't let it pass.
Reactivated: Dom is the second installment of the Project Phoenix series and begins exactly where Reactivated: Oz, the first book, ends. We're following Dominic "Capo" Rossi, a frogman who got blinded by an IED during a mission on the Middle East. As the informations about Project Phoenix emerge and Capo along with his buddies try to figure out how to escape who is trying to control their minds again, he ends up pursuing Doctor Emilie Forrester, a genomics specialist who is an active participant in the Project. Emilie seems to remember Dom, but he has no idea of who she is.
Charissa nailed this book. It's even better than the first because the plot is mostly stabilished after Oz and Allegra's story, so we go straight to the point. In addiction to the constant action and plot twist after plot twist, we also have the struggles with Dom who hasn't accepted his partial blindness and Emilie's guilt when she finds out that the Project isn't what she was told to be. The fast pacing of the story left me on the edge of my seat to a point where I only stopped because it ended... And honestly I only stopped because I was forced to since she left a huge cliffhanger on Jericho's epilogue.
Lucky us Jericho's book is not far away, otherwise I'd be destroying my nails.

Installment #2 in the Project Phoenix series, and we are again met with an action packed and steamy ride. This time, it’s Dom turn being reactivated, and he’s on the hunt for the research doctor that should be able to give them answers. What he didn’t expect was Emilie, the brilliant and gorgeous woman he finds, and when he’s captured, she finally realizes that things are not what they seem with her research project, and she decides to help Dom escape, and his team find their answers and their freedom from the project.
Interesting this go around, is that Emilie knows the whole team, since she was involved in the first round of experimentation. But they don’t remember her, because their memories were wiped when the project was scrapped. But she was always most attracted to Dom, and this time around, things are no different. They have great chemistry, and their interactions are sizzling. Dom’s abilities surround his senses, and let’s just say things get very intense after one of his interactions, and it is quite the steamy encounter! We even get a glimpse at Dom’s big Italian family, which was a fun little interlude to the action, and a way to get to know him, and Emilie, a little more intimately.
So the plot thickens, the bad guys are brought more out into the open, but we still don’t quite know who’s pulling all the strings at the top, and there’s an interesting big bomb dropped on the team that makes this whole thing even more personal than what it already was - if that’s even possible. Looking forward to the next book to see where we go from here, because the cliffhanger was a good one!
This is book 2 in the Project Phoenix series. While each book covers a single couple, there’s ongoing story arcs that build off events from previous books and the series should be read in order. This review will contain spoilers from book 1, Reactivated: Oz.
The prologue of this book is the last chapter from the first book. It’s a great memory bump if it’s been a while but since I’m binging these I just skipped it. More of the Blue Squadron is being deactivated and the team is diverging to follow leads. Dom ends up reunited with the original Project Phoenix medical team, specifically Emilie.
Like the first book this is instalove with Dom & Emilie professing feelings and talk of forever after just a few days. While that’s not my favorite trope - my love of mystery/action/thriller was gratified by numerous escapes, chases, fights, and general sleuthing. Several new threats emerge. I also continue to enjoy the humor that Gracyk brings to the banter between all of the team members.
Wow! I loved this! This was my first time reading a book by Charissa Gracyk and it didn’t disappoint!
She is an extremely talented author and writes in a style I’ve never read before - she writes in the 3rd person omniscient. It was new to me and I messaged her about it and she explained that it was an actual writing style. Once I’d read a few chapters I started really enjoying it.
I loved the sense of team spirit and brotherhood in this book between all the guys.
I got so mad at Dr Payne (in the a$$… that made me giggle!) and the whole Project, how they have no regard for the soldiers lives! Grr.
Dom…🔥🔥🔥 He’s a yummy hunk of Italian goodness. My heart broke for him with how he was feeling and what he’d lost. When he started to feel hope again.. my heart nearly leapt out of my chest! I was so happy for him, yet so worried it wouldn’t happen how he wanted.
Emilie. I loved her. Her kindness is so beautiful, she’s so caring. Payne puts her between a rock and a hard place and I felt so sorry for her!♥️
The chemistry between her and Dom was so intense! It jumped off the page at you. It was very 🔥🔥🔥 Yummy!
I loved the plot in this book and the character development throughout was outstanding. I think Charissa is a brilliant author and her book is so clever, the way she builds the world within the book.
Wow! I had a great time reading Dom and Emilie’s story! I loved it 😍 We met Dom in the previous book and I was looking forward to see what would happen. I really like how the author makes you feel like you know the characters. Their emotions and their thoughts make the characters come to life. The action and suspense keep you turning the pages, the banter between the team mates makes you laugh and the romance is hot ! The plot keeps you wondering and anxiously waiting for the next book in the series. Although you could read it as a stand-alone it’s much more fun to read the first book before this one because you will get to know the characters even better. Highly recommend it for readers who enjoy adventurous, action packed romance! I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion.
Have you ever accidentally stumbled across a new author that just takes your breath away with their words? Well, Charissa has done that for me and I’m already waiting in anticipation for what she has in store for us next. Each story has been better than the next and has quickly become one of my favorite places to escape to because who doesn’t love a hot alpha hero with all the hidden layers that a girl dreams of being by her side, through the good times and bad? Dom and Emilie had instant chemistry, and omg is it sizzling, but they will need to over come serious battles emotionally, as well as physically if they are to find their way victory and a happy ending. Fantastic story and amazing characters! Highly recommended!
REACTIVATED: DOM was an enjoyable read and continues the story of the mysterious Project Phoenix. I liked both Dom and Emilie and they make a very sweet and sexy couple together. There was lots of action, some new powers, a big character reveal and we learned a little bit more about Project Phoenix. My only complaint is that I didn't like the way the POV would change within the same chapter with no warning, sometimes switching back and forth in each paragraph. This happened a lot in the first 20% and then seemed to mostly taper off.
Content Warning: references to combat related injuries, PTSD, depression, and suicide; Dom lost vision in one eye during combat and his powers miraculously heal it; Dom's ability causes brief, but severe head pain; medical experimentation without consent
Wow, so good!! Just a non stop roller coaster ride of a story. Dom was taken by the leaders of Project Phoenix and Emilie was one of the Doctors. This was dramatic and so intense with a bit of a mystery in the sub plot. While the attraction grows between Dom and Emilie, the action picks up with the heat and steam. I loved the romance of the relationship, the chemistry between them unrivalled. They looked after each other, both protectors, him more physical her emotional. I loved the feel good emotions of them being together. And it can't go without being said, that ever present team spirit was there and amazing. It's what draws me to these books. Charissa Gracyk writes an amazing story. I loved the characters which are all so different, and the situations they get into just Wow! I wish I had that imagination. This series is really fantastic and I can not wait for the next in the series. So, so good!!! This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
A broken soldier, a woman from a past he doesn't remember and the project that could make him whole again.
Reactivated: Dom is the 2nd book in the project Phoenix series and is definitely my favorite so far. Although, that may change as the series continues.
It follows Dom, a former SEAL, as he tries to uncover who is behind reactivating his fellow soldiers. He follows a lead that takes him to New Mexico to check out Dr. E Forrester, but little does he know that hes already met Dr. Forrester.
When Emilie Forrester sees Dom again after a year, all her feelings come bubbling back to the surface along with guilt and concern for his safety.
Like the first book, it's written in multiple POV's and in the third person and like the first book there were places where it seemed to jump from one POV to another. Sometimes in mid paragraph sometimes every other paragraph.
But overall a well written book with action, a sexy male lead and enough spice to burn your tongue.
Charissa Gracyk’s second book in her ‘Project Phoenix’ series is doing the Siciliano sizzle. Dom is a former Navy SEAL that unbeknownst to him and his fellow teammates was injected with experimental drugs that enhanced their abilities to turn them into super soldiers. The government sanctioned experiment was disbanded and all their memories erased when Dom almost died. Now a wealthy person or conglomerate has started reactivating the guys and making them do nefarious acts against their will. Emilie, a scientist that worked with the guys the first time the experiments started, is called back to work with them again. But what Emilie doesn’t realize is that this time it’s not being government sanctioned and they didn’t volunteer for it. Emilie has always had a special place in her heart for Dom and wants to help him and his teammates any way she can. This story is so adventurously exciting with mystery, suspense and romance. So riveting I couldn’t put the book down until the last page. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read.
It was so refreshing to see Dom, a tough, alpha male, show a little weakness. It made him more human and relatable, and I fell for him because of it. And the fact Emilie proves to be fearless when it comes to him, even though it might put her own safety on the line, spoke volumes about the connection between these two characters. I loved them together and can't wait for the rest of the series!
Reactivated: Dom (Project Phoenix book 2) by Charissa Gracyk is a 5 star read. This book was so good, once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down, the story was brilliantly written and the characters were very well thought out. I’m excited for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
What a wild ride! This book has it all with lots of action, adventure and romance. I loved going on this journey with Dom and Emilie and can’t wait for the next one in the series. If you like Anna Hackett or Brittney Sahin, this is definitely an author to check out!
Charissa Gracyk has done it again with a heart-pumping, adrenaline rush of a read! I can't stop! I have to know what happens next. I am so intrigued by each of these Navy seals and can't wait to find out more about each one! The glimpse of the next book is always torturous as I now have to wait for more Jericho and Sydney!
This series is amazing! I couldn’t put Reactivated: Dom down. It’s everything you want in a romantic suspense novel. Charissa Gracky is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors.
Dom and Emilie made such a perfect couple and complimented each other in every way. I loved their story and the way they helped each other— especially regarding Dom’s disability. Lots of action and heat— thoroughly enjoyed!
This is the second book in the Project Phoenix series and I am hooked! Solid story line, sexy Seals, heart bounding adventure, steamy love story…who could ask for more?! I’m so happy to see that Charissa Gracyk is planning more in this series. I loved the first book about Oz and loved Dom’s story just as much. I can’t wait to see where this series takes us.
Dom & Emilie's story is awesome! It's a great addition to the Reactivated series filled with action, steam & great chemistry. Gracyk's writing style is smooth & enjoyable.
What a first rate read and a fabulous addition to this spectacular series. Com and Emily's have enough electricity to light up the darkest of places, it jumps from the pages in their every interaction. Com feels he is so broken with his disability, but what he doesn't realise, and which Charissa Gracyk artfully portrays, is that he is such a beautiful character inside and out. His heart shines through so clearly it's almost blinding. Emily's is such a perfect match for him. She's kind, caring with a beautiful soul. Watching these strong alpha protectors work to find the evil that stalks them has you on the edge of your seat. Charisma Gracyks talent jumps off the pages of the story with the natural grace of a beautiful phoenix. The world she has created is so welcoming. The story grabs you from the first word and takes you on an unforgettable wild ride before gently letting you go with the beauty and memory of having experienced something monumental and unforgettable. A definite read. 20 million stars!!!!
I loved this book! It starts out supercharged and stays that way! Dominic, the former Navy Seal gets a new start and a happy ending that’s well deserved after recovering from physical and psychological injuries. I loved this character. Definitely book-boyfriend material! I really enjoyed the nod to his Italian heritage and the importance of family.
With each book in the series, new information about the over-arching plot is revealed and leaves you craving more. Can’t wait for the next in the series!
What’s Up Doc. Project Phoenix Book 2 Insta Attraction/ Doctor-Patient/ Second Chance/ Protector What if you went to a military buddy’s funeral and ended up discovering that you were part of a previously defunct, now reactivated, experimental, super-soldier program that you didn’t know you had signed up for? The mystery continues, who is behind Project Phoenix? Reactivated and captured, retired SEAL Dominic “Capo” Rossi is instantly attracted to the brilliant Dr. Emilie Forrester. When they are reunited, he doesn’t remember her, but she remembers him and how she had wished for more. Will she get a second chance? Steamy, Intrigue, Doctor/Patient, Suspense, Protector Romance. I recommend this ongoing series, I have reviewed each of the first four titles, separately.
Dom was part of a group who was tested and given powers to under Project Phoenix. When the project was canceled, they were deactivated. Now his group is being activated and he's next.
This is on the enemies to lovers side of tropes, with Emilie being part of the project taking over Dom and his group. The story is starting to unravel what Project Phoenix is, what it does and how it affects the test subjects.
The steam between Dom and Emilie is there, but I didn't really feel a connection. They're great when it comes to steam, but together they just didn't fit.
The author provided a copy of the book, this my honest review.
Heart-pounding Suspense and a Beautiful Love Story
Reactivated: Dom is a fantastic follow-up to the series-starter, Reactivated: Oz! The story drew me in from the start, with more details about the secret Project Phoenix, more villains to thwart and with more time spent with the schmexy Blue Squadron Pirates.
I love Dom and Emilie. He’s a wounded warrior with a heart of gold and she’s the highly intelligent, gutsy scientist who captures his heart.
There’s a lot of action, danger, chemistry and steam in this book, along with some heart-pounding suspense and a beautiful love story. I loved it, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
This is a fast paced, suspenseful and action packed book. Don has been captured and Dr Emilie Forrester finds she hasn’t been told the truth and is going to help Don escape. Of course danger causes these two to get get and they make the most of it. This one is super steamy too.
This story has all the feels. Laughter, tears, sorrow, sitting on edge of your seat suspense and can’t put the book down it is so good. Steamy hot scenes that I need to take a shower to cool of lol Trust me you will enjoy it
