Taking her by both hands, Margot stepped back and looked Riley up and down. “So, this is the woman I’ve been sharing a man with all this time?”
Riley choked. “I believe we share this man with many women.”
“No dear, we don’t,” she said with a knowing grin. “Those women would kill to share Preston as you and I do. Don’t you think?”
Preston Michaels always knew that being a gigolo had its challenges. What he didn’t realize is that his biggest challenge in the business might just be getting out of the business.
When the handsome perpetual bachelor discovers that he is ready for the next chapter in his life, he is determined to find someone who can service the clientele once he is gone. But when the search for a replacement complicates his plans, he enlists the help of his highly independent, stunningly beautiful neighbor, Riley.
Despite being known as a caring and sensitive lover, Preston is oblivious that the one woman helping him plan his escape is the only woman who has ever truly loved him for who he is.
In his race to leave the life he knows for unknown waters, will Preston realize that he is leaving behind one woman too many before it is too late?
Good question. I’m a writer, mother, partner, lover, and wife. Whew! I love to cook. I’m a sucker for Kir Royales. And I am blessed to enjoy the company of a good man and three precocious boys. I keep a watchful eye on the future, but I strive to enjoy the little moments in life as they go by every day.
Though I am still a small-town girl at heart, I have lived a reasonably big-city life. I’ve learned a lot of things along the way that I should know…and a few that I probably shouldn’t.
Advice for young parents? Hug and kiss your kids every chance you get because you will blink and they will think it’s gross.
Advice for young couples? Don’t let the distractions of life—kids, work, money—cause you to lose who you are as a couple. Date through it all! If you were ever madly in love, you can be again.
Advice for young lovers? Don’t be afraid to venture out on the ledge a bit. It will make you sad to find out when you’re eighty that nipple clamps were your jam all along. 😊
Oh yeah, and then there is my writing. I love relationships. I love happy relationships. I also happen to love sex. So, I write what I love. If you come along for the ride, I promise you this: everything I write ends with a happy-ever-after, a happy-for-now, or some of my favorites, a happy-for-the-memories.
This is the second book in the The Dalton Family Series but is read as a standalone. Jo and Jenner will set your Kindle on fire. The chemistry was so explosive when they met that they headed to his room 15 minutes after they met. It's cute how they met but no spoiler here. She knows it'll be a one time thing as she's headed back to college in Miami and he's one of the Dalton Brothers and a billionaire in Los Angeles. Marni Mann did an incredible job with this book. The characters are amazing and they grab your attention right at the beginning. No shortage of twists or surprises. You'll love this book. I read a free arc via Valentine Promotions and voluntarily chose to review it.
Good story! I really liked Preston. He was warm, smart, funny, loyal, caring. In short, a great guy with superb oral skills that found a way to make his talents into a career. Often, people who make a living in a sex trade are portrayed as desperate or oppressed or abused, but this story was about acceptance and kindness and thoughtfulness. I would’ve liked a bit more conversation between Riley and Preston at the end, before the final scene, but I really enjoyed the story and characters.

I found this to be quite a quirky story. I loved every minute of it. This is a story of a gigolo ready to get out of the business but needs to find his replacement first. I wouldn't really call it a love story or romance. If your up to an unconventional type of story then pick up this book and give it a read.

This is a story about a young man who discovers that servicing older women makes a good living But, when he decides to go see the world he is told to find a replacement if he wats to leave. This is very steamy so, be prepared! I would suggesting reading this book!
This was a new author to me and I enjoyed this one.
The premise of this story is certainly original and it was fun to read. I didn't really get Riley and Preston's connection, other than the steamy parts. I guess they work. I just didn't see the usual relationship.
That said, this one was easy to read and the pages turned themselves.
I do recommend this read.

3.5 stars Holt provides a quick, hea for our main character Preston who has served at pleasing women for 20 years with Margot's lead. A little predictable but an enjoyable overall read with ups and downs. Sweet with enough heat (even some same sex activity included).

,,Sometimes love is a lot closer than you realize."
Preston loves being a gigolo. He loves his job, but after so many years he has to say goodbye and move on with the next chapter of his life. But in order to do that, he has to find a replacement. That is not simple as it sounds, that's why he enlists the help of Riley, his neighbor. They both agreed to see each other without the commitment, but when they get together to find a replacement and when his 'freedom' is just around the corner, they can't help but think about the future.
I have love-hate relationship with Denice and honestly I have no idea how to feel about her books. I like this story, it's perfectly put between the covers of the book. It reminds me of one funny movie that I liked. I really love the writing style and the humor. However, I didn't like some scenes and that is the reason why I gave it 4 stars.
Funny, interesting and page-turning story that will put a smile on the readers face. The characters are lovable since the very beginning and the reader will remember them long time after reading the book.
This was a fun, well written, story told from a different point of view. The tale is told sympathetically with some enjoyable twists and turns. There is plenty of steam all the way through, and it is supported by a nice plot line. For a fun, spicy, quick read, this book is definitely recommended.
Full disclosure: I was given an ARC of the book, however this review is my own honest opinion.
Wow, this book exceeded all my expectations. It’s short erotic comedy, and it delivered all that. And then some. I didn’t expect there to be so much character development and backstory. The author knows how to say a lot with just a few well chosen words. Preston, Riley, Margot, Lucas, even Rosa - all relationships and all characters are written with love. Plus, I am so pleased that there are no annoying typos. What I really liked is the title: it’s not exactly about the replacement.. it is, but … well, you need to read the book to get what I mean :)
PS. Chambord and champagne coctail is Kir Imperial, not Kir Royale. But I suspect the author knows this already, this is to make sure if the reader pays attention :)

This was a really fun read! I loved the twist on the Gigolo trope, and liked getting to know the characters and their unusual little venture.
I found the plot as believable as any billionaire romance, the characters engaging, and the ending a satisfying HEA. All in all a delightful experience.
This is the second Denise Holt book I’ve read (Sarah’s List is also a wonderful read), and I continue to really enjoy the way Ms. Holt’s writing style blends sweet and heat.
I received a copy of this book through BookSirens and am providing my personal review.
The Replacement is an enjoyable read about the sexual needs. Everyone has sexual needs but some don't have a partner to fulfill those needs. Although the main character is male, the driving force behind him is a woman. He fulfills the sexual needs of woman more advanced in age but has to find a replacement. In his quest to find Thr Replacement, Preston has a few adventures.

I just loved this book! I am the same age as one of the characters, but I am not rich. (sigh) I wish such a service existed for those of us without lots of money. A "replacement" is found to take Preston's place so he and his sweetie can sail off into the sunset. Denise Holt has the gift to make us believe that everything she writes is real, no matter how unlikely! You must read the book to find out more!

I will be honest, I don't have a lot of experience with erotica, but I do have a lot of experience reading romance and the spicier variety. I enjoyed this book and maybe if I had more experience with erotica, I might have rated it higher as I would have known a little more what to expect, so take my words with a grain of salt.
I enjoyed this book, it was a very sweet but obviously with significantly more explicit material than a standard sweet story. With that being said, even spicy people need sweet stories from time to time. The characters and the scenes brought a lot of humor to the story as well. There was also a touch of realism to the story, a very small touch (or at least I assume it is small) but a touch none the less. I personally would have liked to see the story and the love interests have a little more depth but again, that may be because I'm thinking of romance rather than erotica. In the end, I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it. If you are looking for more of a romance feel, you might be a bit disappointed, but you will get your romance none the less.
** I received this book as an ARC from the author. This is an honest review, and all thoughts and opinions are my own. **
"The Replacement" is written in an interesting style. It boils down to a simple story with plentiful basic tips on how to enhance a woman's orgasm. The story line is sweet and easy reading with short chapters and simple language. There is no mystery to solve or plot to decipher. There are a few small surprises, but nothing major to throw the reader off track. The story begins and ends with the sexual exploits of one man and how he handles the women in his life. As the title implies, his goal is to find his replacement and move on with his life. His life is controlled by women and yet he has a masterful method of controlling them as well. Although the book is packed with sexual episodes and references, it is not offensive if the reader remains open to exploration and simple enjoyment of reading one man's story through the eyes of a female writer, likely familiar with the necessities of experiencing satisfying sexual encounters.

This story is about Preston who is a man who works servicing older, mature women. There is no intercourse involved. It is refreshing to see a book that deals with how women sometimes have sexual needs that go unattended and how they get what they need. Preston is looking to get out of the lifestyle but he needs to find a replacement before he can. It is quite steamy and the sexual scenes are quite racy.
The relationship between Preston and Riley was a little confusing and disappointing. They are sex buddies and it is stated right up front that he does not get involved with anyone romantically and neither does Riley. Then all of a sudden they are supposedly in love and want a romantic relationship when there has been no indication of this up to that point. I felt that their relationship was too hurried and slapped together. I was not invested in them as a couple. There was no feels there only friendship.

This book was something different, I've never read something like this before. It was a quick, easy fun read. I really liked Preston and the way he treated all the women, I also really like his replacement Lucas, he was so cute and shy. I don't think I looove this book because there are some things that we didn't get to see in more detail, like sure Riley and Preston like each other but we didn't get to see their relationship blossom and what we were given for me personally it wasn't enough to justify them all of a sudden going into a relationship, I wish we a saw some of the little things that made them think "oh yeah I really like this person and there's something for us beyond us just being f*ck buddies" you know? And the ending? That was waaay to quick. But other than that I really enjoyed the book

Preston, a gigolo since his teens, wants to start a new life. But to not upset his clients he needs to find a new gigolo. And who would be better then Riley, his neighbor (and ocasional lover) to help him find a replacement for him.
I did like the simple plot of the story - a gigolo looking for a replacment; that was a first for me and i think readers, who are open to mature conctent and like the age diffrence, will be able to enjoy this story. Even though this book is short I found myself reading it for a longer time. I think that's mainly due to the fact that I didn't feel Preston's and Riley's chemistry, so it was hard to get me to be interested in the story.
This is a voluntarily review. I received an advance review copy for free thanks to BookSirens.
Sometimes, you just can't take a book too seriously. The hero has made a fortune, maybe two fortunes, making women happy beyond their greatest dreams without the usual tool. But now he wants to sail around the he world, so he has to find his replacement. His neighbor across the hall knows what he does and shares a more complete relationship with him. I have no idea why this works for her. I really have no idea of any of the motivation for what happens in this book. It's all froth as they find a young guy to replace him.
It's froth, but it turns out to be amusing froth. I'd recommend this for a vacation read. It's light, nothing to take seriously.

This was an interesting concept and story, but I didn't feel a lot of depth in the characters. By the end I wanted to feel that the MC and his neighbor were falling in love, but it just felt too forced. The sex scenes were steamy, but personally I need more behind it. The "replacement" was found too quickly and I felt agreed to things way too fast to feel realistic. But maybe that wasn't what the author was going for. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. It's a good book and was an ok read. Replacement could be replaced with any other book and it won't make a difference. The plot is simple so there's that. A no-brainer read if you just want something to do. It's not terrible.

A short, crisp fantasy into the career of a gigolo. Classified as erotic, it is not titillating and very clinical in its approach. Wonderful narration and keeps you hooked till you finish it. It is a one sitting book. Would be perfect for your travel time.

I’m a bit disappointed because this book had such potential and was really fun to read but then was incomplete and left me a bit confused.
First, I don’t think we ever got the chance to see Riley and Preston's relationship develop completely. What a waste as they were both great characters, they were so cute together and it would have been so wonderful to follow their love story.
Second, the end end was too sudden and abrupt. I felt like either somehow there are a few chapters missing or the writer got tired of writing so she threw together a “sort of” end. It almost reminded me of a tv series that gets cancelled at the last minute so they tack on a final scene to try and tie up loose ends quickly.
All in all I was left feeling very unsatisfied. I really hope one day the author goes back and fleshes out the story, gives Preston and Riley’s relationship a chance to really grow and bridges the final two scenes with everything that happened in between. (There is just way too much missing!) I think if she does she’ll have a much better and more enjoyable book, one that I would love to read again and again. The plot was unique and really deserved so much more than it received.
