Knock-Out is the first in an exciting and steamy standalone series about a group of up and coming fighters and the women who keep them on their toes in and out of the ring.
Mad Max has always been a fighter. With an abusive and alcoholic dad and a mom who took off after he was born, he wasn’t given much of a choice. Learning to fight, Max soon discovered the sport of boxing and grew a reputation for having a bad-boy reputation with the ladies, a hot temper, and an even hotter body. Now, on his way up to becoming a world champion in the ring, Max refuses to allow anyone or anything to get in his way. That is, until she entered the ring.
Lexi’s life seemed to enjoy throwing punches her way, but she always found a way to get back up. Now, on her own and working in the world of sports medicine, she jumped at the chance of having her first ‘real’ job. However, Lexi didn’t realize that job would consist of being on a team with Mad Max. Hired to keep Max’s body healthy and working like a well-oiled machine, Lexi quickly discovers that working for Max has awakened a primal desire for a man she once couldn’t stand. What began as a tumultuous friendship, now has turned into a firey obsession that they both can’t deny. As sizzling passion takes over, Max and Lexi soon realize someone else wants to knock them both out of the spotlight. Will the pair be able to stand up to their opponents, or will their flame die out just as quickly as it was ignited?
Each book in the series can be read in any standalone order.
I think if this book had 50-70 more pages it could have been good. Everything just felt rushed and under developed. I wanted to experience more with the characters, not just have it all told to me.
I've read so many sports romances and all of them are always angsty and back and forth and banter and fun and nerve wracking and on the edge of your seat suspense with whatever sporting event there is but this book felt so rushed. Lexi gets her first major personal training/medic job right out of her certification for Max who's working to be a professional boxer. There is some spice and some slow burn but it's pretty quick that they get with each other.
Spoilers!!!
Within what it feels like maybe 3 months they are head over head over heels in love with each other trying to fight it and then all the sudden at the drop of a hat they realize that they shouldn't fight it anymore. They realize that they need to be together. There's no confusion on where each other stands, there's no dating other people to try and get them out of their system, there is no conflict of someone trying to steal their affection from the other, and there's not even a fight put up by his manager that they shouldn't date. Add this book Even just 3 or 4 more chapters so that there was more build up I think it would have been a 4 or a 5 star read
Lexi thinks she knows the kind of man she wants and an alpha skirt chasing boxer is not it.
Max is good at what he does. He's a big draw, the ladies love him and money is king.
Too bad all that and the one woman who piques his interest, isn't interested. The more time together and each sees the other in ways that no one else does. The ring nurse and bad boy boxer are going to take you on a slow build story. The sizzling and sparks should be watched out for because they will be flying. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
This is book one in the Heavy Hitters series. Max is working towards making a name for himself and winning the championship as a pro boxer. He is a great athlete but he could use a kick in the butt by a great woman to help him be his best self. Lexi has a past of her own and is not taking no fluff from Max. This was a great story with characters that bring their A game and make for this book an enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more in this series and from this author. Enjoy!

Max is a boxer, with all the ego. To say that he's difficult would be an understatement. Lexi is a sports doctor, a temporary hire for his team. They can't stand each other. Until they find out just how much they have in common regarding their backgrounds. And holy crapoly - they are explosive together! Their story grabbed me from the beginning, hoping that they would be able to find their way to each other.

I've read several books written by M.A. Lee; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.

He had no choice to fight as his family was bad. He found fighting help him feel much better and now he said s let's nothing stop him from going for it. He is not just a bad boy in the ring but outside it with women. Then she comes along. It seems she may just knock him down. Will they get together? How will they get on? See what happens along the way

Story was good but the writing wasn’t. A lot of writing errors and I was confused by the point of view/time it was written. A lot of it was past tense. It was super short so I guess that’s why the love story was super fast, they fell in love like immediately without knowing each other or really even talking. I liked the characters and the story but wished it was written better. The spice was 1/10 barely there lol
This story has a good idea but needed a lot more. More details, more passion, more depth, just more in every sense. The characters need more development and I felt like there was no falling in love with each other. All the sudden, they just were?
Also, I feel like it is a HEA but it just abruptly ends. I gave it two stars because it’s a great idea for the book but just needs lost more development.
I have really enjoyed reading this book, the author did such a great job developing the characters, that I feel like I really know them, and not just the major characters, but the minor ones too. The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story.

Loved it, has everything that you want in a novel of this nature. Only thing that peeved me was getting the tattoo, not many people know about them and what they entail unless they get one themselves. Research is a valuable key! Max and Stone two hot headed fighters who both come together in the final match... Watch out! Heat rises in and out of the ring for the love interests.
I would say this is more of a 3 1/2 stars. There was some things included that didn’t make sense. One is for the size of her tattoo and coloring it would have been a long sitting. I realize rushing through for a quick read. What I did like is their story both having horrible up bringing and then being there for each other.
This was a super quick easy read that you can finish while waiting for an appointment. I loved the wit and I am always a fool for a Enemy to Lovers trope. I feel there were parts that could have been explained a bit more, but once again this is a short read and I would recommend. Thanks M.A. Lee for the great book!
I had the pleasure of reading an advance copy of Knock Out by M.A Lee. This series will be 🔥 🔥 🔥 . Max is an up-and-coming boxer, and Lexi is the sports nurse who catches his attention on his team. I think it's great, and can't wait for more.
I was knocked out by Max and Lexi. I felt their chemistry and their hate and love and the tension between them in every interaction. This is so much more than just their romance. The story sucked me in with the complex characters and the growth they go through in the story.
Mad Max has always been a fighter and life seemed to enjoy throwing punches at Lexi’s way. This book is a great start to the series. I enjoyed each page turning.

The story was interesting to read with good characters and a good storyline. The characters had some wonderfully engaging scenes together which were fun to read. I especially enjoyed their chemistry which felt real.
I liked this book. Max was so alpha male, loved him. And Lexi was bad*ss, I like when wome are like that. I just wish this book was bigger because I feel that the love part happened a little to quickly but it's fine nonetheless
I enjoyed reading this book. It was a quick cute read. It felt a bit rushed towards the end because I wanted more details about their lives after. However, I do recommend it to anyone looking for a sports romance.
Didnt finish - got most of the way through though (~80%) Was really good at first with the build up of sexual tension but felt love bombing once they got together and too cringe/lovey dovey Kindle Unlimited
It literally took me a week to finish this book because I was chewing through it. The plot was sub par and the MC’s were under developed. I really wanted to like this book but I basically just skimmed it to the end 👎🏽
I had a mixed feelings about this book . It is not bad but also , it is not a good .Somenthing is missing and I dont feel any connections or emotions between Max and Lexi .
I enjoyed Max and Lexi's story, they were good for each other, the attraction between them was strong, so wasn't the chemistry, it was sexy. They were good together.
I did not like this book. I had to read this for a reading challenge that had a book that was rated as bland and I would say that is exactly what this book is
