A serial killer is on the loose, but that's not stopping Ashley from being out in the community. She's on the go, hiking through the woods with Rocky as her sidekick. While pacing along her favorite trail, she runs into a couple of sketchy characters who inform her to be cautious. Uh. Second person tense annoys me. Mercifully, it is a short read.

I am not a fan of the damsel out after dark when there is a serial killer afoot trope. I did laugh a couple of times and I loved the heroine's pitbull but all in all I didn't enjoy this.

Suspenseful read

I enjoyed this short. It's written in first-person-present which got my attention from the get-go. However, what really engaged me was the author's ability to consistently ramp up the suspense. One could argue the ending left some loose ends, but, in the overall scheme of things, I'd think that would be nitpicking.

Good Read

I liked the writing style in this book and I liked the POV it showed throughout the book. I don't read many that have that POV. However I didn't like the ending of the book I thought it would have done well with a twist. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mild horror and a thrill.
