The third installment of the Unlucky Charms series.
When the Enemy at the Gate is welcomed by the Keeper of the Sword, all that is lost shall be restored…
Bridget O’Malley has a love-hate relationship with her irritating neighbor, Ruairí O’Connor. In their youth, he’d promised her the moon and stars, but in a shocking move, he betrayed her. When she finds out he’s the final piece of the puzzle she needs to restore her family’s magic, she’s fit to be tied. Bridget would rather eat nine-inch galvanized nails than have anything to do with the super-sexy, sweet-talking Ruairí ever again. And she’s sure as hell not going to fall for his devilish charm and wicked grin a second time.
Ruairí O’Connor had been taught to despise the O’Malleys from birth, but it only took a single glimpse of Bridget’s enchanting smile, and he lost his heart forever. His foolish plan to get her to run away with him and escape their feuding families backfired, and he’s been dealing with the fallout ever since. Desperate to regain Bridget’s love, he plans to return to her what was stolen, hoping she’ll forgive him for his boneheaded mistake of the past.
When power-hungry Loman O’Connor arrives on the scene determined to retrieve the magical weapon that gives him his undefeatable abilities, Bridget and Ruairí must set aside the past and come together to fulfill the final part of an ancient prophecy. They are going to need a little luck, a lot of forgiveness, a clever plan, and perhaps some divine intervention to outsmart a devious warlock like Loman and break the O’Malley curse.
T.M. Cromer is a multi-award-winning sorceress of the written word and fearless architect of high-stakes paranormal romance. With a flair for twisty plots, slow burns, and swaggering heroes hot enough to scorch the page, she conjures stories that hook readers and refuse to let go. From her cozy PNW lair, flanked by two Hellhounds and an unholy amount of caffeine ambition, she weaves love, danger, and humor into every page. Whether it’s witches, sirens, or magical assassins, her characters never behave, and neither do her stories.
When she’s not dreaming up new ways to ruin her characters’ lives before crafting their HEA, she’s daydreaming about swimming with orcas or cackling over a particularly clever line of dialogue. Come for the magic, stay for the heartbreak, and maybe fall a little too hard for a man who only exists on the page.

Beer & Broomsticks is a fun paranormal romance by T.M. Cromer. Ms. Cromer has once again penned a story that is well-written and loaded with spectacular characters. Bridget caught Ruairi kissing another and for the last 17 years he's paid for his mistake. Will she forgive him? Or will he finally walk away? I loved the inclusion of Damien and his Beastie. I can't wait for the next book in this series. Beer & Broomsticks is book 3 of The Unlucky Charms Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, but more fun if you've read the first 2.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I've been binge-reading this author and up to this book, the stories have been fun, paranormal romps. Then this book happened. I'm halfway through the and I'm not sure if I'll bother finishing. I dislike Bridget so much at this point (how far up her own rectum can her head go?), I feel like Ruairi deserves so much better than this awful shrew.
Bridget is a colossal b*tch in this book. Even when she knows the truth of a situation, she's determined to stick her head up her rectum and whistle Riverdance. She's awful to Ruairi and every time she 'forgives' him, she takes two steps back for completely ridiculous reasons. Reading this is an exercise in frustration .
Definitely not as good as other books by this author.
TM Cromer has a knack for creating charming good guys that one can’t help but fall in love with. Even Ronan, who still doubts himself, is lovable and relatable. Her bad guys a creepy and truly nefarious and leave you with your skin crawling and with the urge to peek around the corner. The world she has created is beautiful and her writing makes one feel as though one is IN the story, rather than outside it; prepare to be drawn in.
This book had a lot of action! Also the characters are so real they jump off the page and you feel like you are amongst them as everything they endure you feel a part of it. It was a wild ride with some of my favorite characters arriving to offer wisdom and assistance when needed.
I enjoyed this second chance, star-crossed lovers, magical romantic suspense tale. The storyline was imaginative, the characters real and relatable, and the writing engaging, all drawing you into this intriguing world. The story wove together exciting adventure, unexpected twists, palpable tension, danger, healing, deep emotions, and spicy romance. Bridget O’Malley is a warlock from a magical family under a 250 year old curse which means she has no magic. Ruairí O’Connor is from the magical family that stole the O’Malley family’s magic. But now that Bridget’s brothers Cian and Carrick fulfilled the first two lines of the prophecy that will break the family’s curse and bring back their magic, things have started changing. As a result, the magic, mystery, danger and intrigue has been steadily increasing. Bridget and Ruairí were involved in their youth but Ruairí betrayed her. He has been trying to win her back ever since. To repair and heal their relationship enough for a second chance, there will need to be some baggage unpacking, evil thwarting, riddle solving, and prophecy fulfilling. This well written story included engaging dialogue, characters with dimension (though I liked Ruairí a lot more than Bridget), good world building, and an interesting storyline. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.
Bridget O'Malley and Ruairi O'Connor are the main characters in this story. They have known each other since they were toddlers. They even lived next door to each other, but they weren't allowed to even speak to each other. Their families have been against each other since the O'Connor family stole a bewitched sword from the O'Malley family that stole their witch powers over 250 years ago.
But when they were around 4 years old they saw each other through the gate that separated their properties, they became fast friends. But they had to keep it secret from their families. Their feelings grew over the years, but Ruairi made a mistake when Bridget was about 20 and now she hates him.
But part of the prophecy to get the sword back means these two must finally come together. He will do anything to get the love of his life back. Come what may.
Lots going on in this 3rd book in the series. I love all of the family members fighting for the O'Malley clan. Can they finally get their powers back? So good!
OMG I didn't see that coming. The epic battle good vs evil was played out in this read. Well is was supposed to be. LOL! Yes Loman O'Connor was defeated only to come back while waiting in the holding area to hear his future. BUT someone brought him back and he's escaped once again. If I were Damian, Alastair and Alex I would have chopped off his head to make sure he could never come back. HAHAHAHAHA Yes this story was supposed to be about Ruairi O'Connor and Bridget O'Malley and it was in a way. Finally she gives into her feelings and lets down her iron gates around her heart. Once that occurs the curse is truly broken. This was an action packed read from the get go. Seriously. I was hoping the next book would be Ronan and Dubheasa's story, but I took a peek and nope it's Eoin's story. Okay on to the next installment of The Unlucky Charms.
Yet another good read from this author. The banters are fun and funny.
The conflict between the two families continues. Bridget is fiery and stubborn whereas Ruary is smitten by her. He has been in love with her forever, but she refuses to acknowledge the fact. The two families have been at odds for a long time and the O'Malleys are fighting evil to regain their stolen powers. They rally together to regain their powers. Bridget holds the key to unlock her powers. Will she see past her hatred to regain what is rightfully hers?
I have read all the books in this series and I have enjoyed reading all of them. It's well portrayed and I love the characters.
I struggled a little with this one. Unlike everyone else, I did not like Bridget. Her anger and meanness toward Ruairi was exhausting and really, who would put up with all that for 17 years. Although a lovable character, he comes across as a complete doormat. The pacing was a little slow for me and the biggest fight scene actually happened off page. I would have really liked to be there for that. On the plus side, the plot was engaging and has moved the story on nicely for the next in the series and as always, my favourite character was the not so bad boy. 3.5 stars
Bridget's family needs to access their magic but in order to fulfill the prophesy, Bridget needs to open her heart. She closed in many years ago and learning to trust again will not come easily. Unfortunately, there are evil warlocks and witches who are determined to stop the prophesy from being fulfilled. Faithful readers get to visit with beloved characters. This series is full of family, friends, romance and the struggle to defeat evil.
Bridget just wanted her magic back and figured if she could find the sword then the prophecy would be done. Ruairi had the sword but wanted to get her to see him as she used to so came up with a plan to help her find it. As usual things backfired and they were left in the center of a fight. Can everyone come together and help them out? Highly recommend this book and series
This almost got DNF’d. It was a hard one to get through. I’ve literally read 75-80 books in between the time I stared this one to the time I finished it. The previous two were good…..I don’t know where this one went wrong. Maybe the FMC really turned me off with her arrogant bitchy attitude. I really did like the MMC and his determination though. It was probably his character and those of the friends and family that made me finish it.
TM did it again. We fall in love with these hot Irish witches and and warlocks. This love is a life long love that was broken by distrust. The Goddess 's have a plan and they keep paying attention to their special people and in the end blessings happen and the potential of the families grow.
Oh how I love tales of Ireland. The feud between the O'Malley and O'Rourke families has lasted for centuries. Can Bridget and Ruari break the curse?
The chemistry between those two characters is off the charts! Once again, Ms. Cromer has brought us a beautiful story. Love and trust don't always go hand in hand.
I love how she weaves her stories! I cannot get enough of the Thornes, so love seeing some of them pop up. Bridget and Ruairis story is a thing of beauty, finding a way to trust and love without hesitation. I love the family bond and am excited for the next one! Fantastic book!!!
This story was action packed and the love was present as ever. I was so happy to see my favorite person come into the mix and for him to bring his father and his father be the other twin…well colored me shocked. I love the intertwined characters and story lines between the Thornes and O’Malleys. This series is fabulous and has me hooked. On to book four now.
A fantastic addition to the series. A mistake from his past has lost him 17 years of his love. She can’t forgive can she? She will never forget. Trust has been broken. To regain what was lost she may have to find her way back to that love. Action. Love and magic a plenty. I absolutely loved this book. I highly recommend reading this series.
I am liking these books a lot but I would t say enough for a full 5 stars. They are full of humor and love but to me it’s just a bit to…obvious. She hates him, she changes her mind, they are madly in love by the end. It’s all cute and I will continue to read the series and the others from the author - they are a light read though and don’t require too much brain power lol
Great read love how the characters came to life and though a completely different series how all the characters come together as one big disfunctional happy family Can't wait for.next book x
As usual another great story from this author, I have not read a book by her I haven't fell in love with and I've read all the books she has published so far. Can't wait for the next one is available.
Thoroughly enjoyed the third book in this series and so sad to be finished it. Couldn’t put it down, was hooked in from the start. Full of love, fun and action. Roll on number 4.
Another amazing & magical book!! I loved it! Tara doesn’t disappoint with anything she writes! If you haven’t read the Thorne Witches series, you don’t know what you’re missing! Thanks for another great book! Ready for the next one 🙃!!
Love the Unlucky Charms series! Such a fun but also action packed book! It's always a treat when we get visitors from the Thorne series! Thoroughly enjoyed another of her books and can't wait for the next one!
