Wild Girls is definitely a riveting, intriguing, fast pacing, cat- mouse game! A wild, whirlwind, claustrophobic mystery with multiple unreliable POVs!
Four friends estranged, falling apart after an ominous night , moving on their lives without connecting for two years till one day: the richest, the fanciest, the most popular one of them: dear Felicity decides to invite them to a fabulous- all expanses paid ( including airfares) trip to Botswana to celebrate her birthday!
Let’s see how her three friends hang in there:
Grace lives her isolated life, being a mockery concept of her roommate’s cruel boyfriend, depressed, exhausted, lonely needs a break.
Alice is suffering from financial problems and her abusive boyfriend who sucks off her entire self esteem and energy.
Hannah is struggling mother, having hard time to balance her motherhood and her wifely responsibilities.
As we may understand, both of the women are unhappy after their fall out and they think this invitation could rekindle their past friendship, helping them let bygones be bygones. And of course nobody says no to escape from struggling life responsibilities and take a break to enjoy fully paid, exotic vacation!
But as soon as three of them arrive to Deception Valley Lodges ( I think the name of the place also gives the red flag! ) they feel all those ominous vibes which warn them to run away without looking their backs. Even their driver just drops them without saying a word and drives off quickly. Felicity is nowhere to be seen. They are positioned into different lounges. Each of them find notes with the key words mentioning the last night which ended their friendship the at their lounges arranged for them, named after different animals.
These are just the beginning of creepy things they find out throughout the night! As you may imagine there is no reception on their phones and there’s no sign for birthday party preparations. And they keep getting texts from Felicity who is still missing!
Somebody might play a deadly game with them and as we get the spoilers from the beginning: two of them will die eventually.
Who organized this entire vacation? Is it one of Felicity’s pranks or is she also in danger? Who wants them out of picture?
The book kept me on my toes. I wanted to learn why the girls fell apart so badly! I have to admit I was expecting something more dramatic, angsty ( maybe more serious cat fight, screams, confrontation between girls because we can sense they already have so many resentments and trust issues which make them keep so many secrets) and also culprit’s identity was a little obvious!
Botswana is great choice to emphasize the claustrophobic vibe of the story but the dangerous vibes of wild animals and being trapped in a place in the middle of nowhere kind of mysterious elements wasted a little bit. I think the methods of murders could be fitted with the wild nature of the place!
The final twist was still good! ( foreseeable but still smart)
Overall: it was great popcorn& wine reading for your weekend escape ( you’d better bury your head to this fast pacing, exciting story instead of wasting your precious time scrolling through so many trashy concepts on Netflix! Trust me! ) I’m rounding up 3.5 stars to 4 well developed character portraits, great pacing, satisfying conclusion stars!
Special thanks to NetGalley and William Morrow and Custom House for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.
What an exciting premise! An all expense paid birthday party in Botswana!
The title is a bit misleading because I didn't find these girls very wild at all! They may have had some wild times as teens, but nothing too crazy.
The setting is wild though and takes place at Deception Valley Lodge, a gorgeous resort surrounded by nature and plains. The lodges have individual pools, huge verandas, exotic furnishings and fine wine. The problem is as the plot unfolds, the setting isn't really utilized to give the atmospheric mood the story so desperately needed.
The revenge plot had so much promise, but ultimately turned into a confused and not very suspenseful story with too much back and forth between the four "wild" girls which made it a bit confusing at times.
This one had all the ingredients, but the final dish was lacking and tiny bit bland. I'll try the author again to see if she can spice it up a little.
Thanks to NG and the publisher for my early copy! OUT April 26, 2022

Got to break it loose Going to keep them moving wild Going to keep a-swinging baby I'm a real wild child
Four former friends for life have drifted apart...until now. The birthday celebration of their feistiest member, Felicity, is happening...at a luxury resort...in BOTSWANA, no less! The other three girls, Hannah, Grace, and Alice, are all too eager to escape their troubles at home, mend fences, and look for a lion or two. Hannah is desperate for a reprieve from life as a first time mom to an infant, Alice from life as an unappreciated teacher and hiccups in her romantic relationship, and Grace from the ho-hum monotony of everyday life at home. When they arrive, the resort is all they hoped for and more...but there's no sign of Felicity...and soon after, no cell service. Idyllic peace in the Sahara quickly turns into eerie isolation in unfamiliar territory. Did that night that split this tight-knit quartet up have ramifications leading into today? How does Felicity's boyfriend fit into the picture...and for that matter, where are all of the other party guests? Could this birthday be Felicity's last?
A fresh spin on a locked room mystery? Sign me up! Ever since I studied African wildlife in an elementary school unit I've always been fascinated by the location, and the chance to stay at a resort like the one described made me so excited to check this book out and dive into the mystery. The four girls, while far from wild in my opinion, were well-fleshed out characters for the most part, and that was probably my favorite aspect of this read. However, one of the four received less emphasis and that immediately tipped me off to certain plot points that came to fruition later on. The whole narrative felt a bit straightforward at that point, and though it starts in present day and then jumps back to the Fateful Night in Question to tell you exactly WHAT happened and WHY, the events became almost predictable for a while once you had more information. There was a 'twist' at the end which was meant to turn everything on its head a bit, but as a seasoned thriller reader, I didn't find it overly shocking. Another nagging plot point for me was that brand new and still breastfeeding mother Hannah pumped 'enough milk for the weekend'...and then went on to consume a fair amount of alcohol on the trip for someone who'd been abstaining...and also didn't mention needing to pump or anything else once she left for Africa. As many moms would attest...this wouldn't actually be practical. (But of course since I'm a new mom this probably jumped out at me where it wouldn't bother the average reader.)
This is a quick enough read, but could've been quicker and flashier with a bit more oomph behind the plot and if the author had leaned into the beautiful locale in a more concrete way. I do feel I would give this author another try, but in the meantime, I'll settle for cranking up the Lion King and dreaming of sunny African skies! 🌄 🦁
Setting and characterization are keys to the take on a locked room mystery. Phoebe Morgan’s novel, The Wild Girls, is set in Deception Valley, Botswana and London, England. It features four women who were close until two years ago when events unraveled years of friendship. When Grace, Alice, and Hannah get invitations from Phoebe to an all-expenses paid birthday bash at a luxury safari lodge in Botswana, they decide to accept the invitation. This will give them the opportunity to rekindle their friendship. Upon arrival, there’s no sign of the party and limited cell phone service. Then things go awry.
The author did a good job of showing the characters’ natures and backstories. Grace came through as the main character for me. She’s a homebody who finds strangers frightening and it’s hard for her to leave her flat. Alice is a teacher and living with Tom. They’ve recently purchased their flat, and that cleaned out her bank account. Hannah and her husband Chris have a new baby boy. She’s jealous of others’ opportunities to interact with adults. She’s always been the sensible one and the one to take care of everyone else. Felicity, the fun and popular one, kept them all together, until she stopped.
This story is mainly told from the points of view of Grace, Alice, and Hannah. However, there are a few chapters where Phoebe’s point of view is given. While this gave insights into the character’s pasts and present situations, it also adversely affected the flow due to the frequency of change. Points of view change within chapters, not just between chapters. Part two of the book also flashes back in time.
The book is set in a unique location and will thrill fans of locked-room style mysteries. The prologue is set after most of the events in the novel. After that, the story gradually builds momentum, with the unknowns continually moving the story forward until it reaches an action-filled and startling conclusion. When readers think about the ending of the book, they will likely wonder what will unfold in the next few months.
The premise and setting are fantastic. Trying to understand the fallout from the event two years ago is only part of the puzzle readers will need to understand. Themes include friendship, domestic violence, secrets, betrayal, relationships, lack of belief in other’s statements, assault, and much more.
Overall, this is novel was engaging, atmospheric, and thought-provoking. If you enjoy locked-room thrillers, then this may be the book for you.
All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own. Publication date was April 26, 2022. The premise and setting are fantastic. This review was previously posted at Mystery and Suspense Magazine. --------------------------------------- My 3.49 rounded to 3 stars review is coming soon.
Doesn’t a book about a group of women with old buried dark secrets going on a jungle safari that turns deadly sound amazing? Let me know if you find it because it’s definitely not THIS BOOK. The synopsis is a big fat liar, there is no safari; zero lions or zebras or elephants like ugh. I definitely think this is an ok book to skip without any kind of FOMO.
Four Friends, Grace, Felicity, Alice, and Hannah, once dubbed the "Wild Girls" are older now with jobs. They have left their wild days behind them. Felicity has invited her friends to go to Botswana for a birthday bash. Sounds like a good time, perhaps they will even have a wild time!
But things do not go as planned. There is no party, no phone signal and things begin to go downhill.
I love a good, locked room mystery. Although, this one was enjoyable it also lacked that just little something that would have pushed my rating to 4 stars. There is the present time and then the book goes back to that night - because there must be that night, right? You know, the fateful one.
I just wanted a little bit more. I will still be open to reading more by this author in the future as she is a good writer and shows promise. There was just something lacking in this book for me. I did enjoy it but didn't love it. Many readers are enjoying this more than I did so please search out their reviews as well.
Thank you to William Morrow and Custom House, William Morrow Paperbacks and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
Hannah, Alice, Felicity and Grace used to be close friends, once called the “Wild Girls” but have not been in contact with each other for two years. When Felicity invites them to an all paid birthday weekend in a Botswana lodge, they are all hoping the time together will bond their drifted friendship.
But things do not run smoothly, when they arrive Felicity is not there to meet them and there is no sign of the party that she promised them. With no phone signal they are truly on their own - or are they!!!
I loved the location of this book, set on a deserted holiday resort and with a name like Deception Valley Lodges you know this is not going to be a happy holiday!!
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.
I must say I love the cover, and I'm a sucker for these "And Then There Were None" type plots - especially with a setting in Botswana, Africa! I thought for certain this one would check all the boxes for me, and the first half did just that. I was loving the eerie setting and trying to figure out who was behind the dastardly deeds that kept happening to all of the "wild girls" (the four best friends: Felicity, Grace, Alice, and Hannah). But then the second half happened ...
You know from the beginning that something between the four friends went seriously awry two years previously, and that their friendship has been split apart ever since. They have all been living completely separate lives when, out of the blue, the other three are invited by Felicity to an all-expenses-paid celebration in Botswana in honor of her birthday. The chapters are broken up by perspectives of each of the characters, and it jumps around in time from present to past, but through their voices, you know that they all decide to accept Felicity's invitation and are looking forward to rekindling their friendship. Once they arrive in Botswana, they immediately find themselves in a hostile environment, which quickly turns deadly.
What I liked: - The setting. An isolated Botswana hunting lodge was a great setting, although I do wish the friends would have gone on the scheduled safari - I feel like that was a missed opportunity for another "accident". - The characters. The friends are all unreliable characters in their own way, and I liked the way past secrets are alluded to throughout, but not fully revealed until closer to the end - it definitely kept me reading! -The sense of impending doom you feel almost from page one. From the minute they arrive at Deception Lodge, Alice, Grace, and Hannah realize that they are the only guests; yet, food and drink appear on the table at the appropriate times, and sinister notes are left for each of the girls to find in their rooms. You know something bad is going to happen, and you find yourself holding your breath over and over again.
What I didn't like: - The revelations of the night that split the friendship apart honestly plunges the plot into a nosedive. - The ending! I can't even fully explain it, but there was something so off about the "who and why." It was just so unbelievable and absurd, that it ruined the whole feel of the book.
I see many 4 and 5 star reviews for this one, but even in many of those, the reviewers found the ending absurd and unbelievable. They seemed to be able to overlook it though, but unfortunately, I could not. 3 stars.
I did not see this ending coming! I was quite impressed with this book. At first this takes its time setting the scene getting into the characters and the surroundings which sound absolutely gorgeous. Then things start to heat up a little. Little snippets of what might or might not be going on leave little hints in your mind. Four friends going to a luxury retreat to patch up the past turns into a very thrilling story and none of which is set in stone till the very last minuits! Loved it.great read.exactly what i was looking for. And that stunning cover❤
Grace, Felicity, Alice and Hannah are childhood friends, inseparable until 2 years ago when they had a falling out and lose touch. Out of the blue, they receive an invite from Felicity in the mail inviting them on an all expense paid trip to a resort in Botswana to celebrate Felicity's birthday. Frustrated and needing a break from their current situations, they all agree to go. I mean, who would pass up that offer? Once they arrive to the resort, Felicity isn't there to meet them and things just feel off.
The Wild Girls had the potential to be a great book. The idea of a remote lodge in Africa, 4 estranged friends reuniting and lots of secrets, I was sold. And while the book was a page turner and kept my interest, there were some issues that I had a hard time overlooking. First of all, Hannah is a nursing mother who leaves the country for a long weekend, and yet she doesn't need a breast pump. Next, I had to suspend belief quite a bit at some of their actions while at the resort especially when they had cell service at times. I loved the setting and felt that the author could have added more to the suspense with regards to the remote location. By no means were the characters likable, they were actually horrible friends. Regardless, the book kept me engaged and I stayed up late reading wanting to know how their relationships fell apart and how it was all going to end. This is my first Phoebe Morgan book, but I look forward to reading what she comes up with next. 3.5 stars.
Available now. Many thanks to NetGalley, William Morrow, and the author for my eARC.
Several of Ms. Morgan’s books are sitting on my TBR list calling to me. This intriguing book is going to force me to take a look at them. The author did a great job with the atmosphere. I felt like I was struggling to survive in the dry, dusty, eerie lodge with these too-trusting women.
I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t have a friend willing to pay for an all-expense-paid trip across the world, even if it is her birthday celebration. And I’d be suspicious if it was an estranged friend and all communication took place through texts. Smarten up, ladies!!
These women are so excited to get a break from their boring lives that they jump at the chance. Although the skepticism is there, it’s not enough to make any of them use their common sense. Bad choice.
Sincere thanks to William Morrow and Custom House Books for providing this complimentary e-ARC through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Okay Phoebe Morgan, I see you!! The Wild Girls was my first time reading a book by this author but based off of how much I loved her writing, it will definitely not be my last. This is a super pacy read that you can easily speed through, and I loved all of the wonderful and lush descriptions of Botswana. I am always up for a locked room mystery as well, and a luxury lodge in the middle of the African plains sounded like the perfect setting for one. The story is told from the viewpoints of the different friends, and it was really great having all of them as opposed to just one or a couple. Told through alternating viewpoints and jumps between past and present, Morgan slowly reveals what has happened in the friends' past and just what is going on at the lodge.
If anyone is on the fence about this one but loves or even just LIKES audiobooks, then I think you are going to have to listen to it. There is a full cast of narrators (Stephanie Racine, Polly Baron, Silvia Presente & Olivia Dowd), and they freaking NAILED both the characters and this book in general. Each one made the storyline feel even more real, and I enjoyed each person for the character they voiced. The only real downfall to The Wild Girls that I found, is that it needed more animals and some gore. For being set in Africa, I was expecting the girls to go on a safari, or at the very least come in contact with some real-life animals. I was disappointed that Morgan didn't fully take advantage of her setting, but otherwise I really enjoyed the story. It was a little predictable but that didn't bother me, and the end had a nice touch that I didn't see coming. Overall, this was more of a win than a miss for me, and I am eager to read Morgan's backlist!
Thank you to the publishers for my advanced listening and reader copies of this book. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
Psychological Thrillers Publication date: April 26, 2021
Grace, Alice, Felicity and Hannah used to be friends till something happened two years ago that caused a rift between them. Now a group of old friends plan to reconnect on an African safari vacation to celebrate Felicity's 30th birthday but their vacation goes horribly wrong...
This is yet another story where author constantly tease reader with some dark secret from That night but it is not until much later that reader find out what happened to cause the rift. Synopsis sound interesting but the way it is written...meh. I could not help but question why would you accept an invitation from your "friend" you are no longer talking with, haven't seen in years? Especially when something traumatic happened between you two. Then you travel to foreign country, to some strange destination, arrive in darkness to a secluded place..possibly walk into the trap. Or if you want vengeance would you really spend so much money on the plane tickets, accommodation on your so called friends?
I dislike the way author jump from one character to another and sometimes I have to remind myself who's perspective I'm currently reading (they sound similar, nothing special about any of them). Why so many female authors make their heroines pathetic, whiny and immature? They are not women I would want to know in real life, less alone be friend with. The so called friendship is toxic and harmful instead of being supportive and caring. As a reader I don't know much about their pasts, so I find it hard to root for any of them. Perhaps that is good...
If you want story with toxic friendship, lies, secrets, obsession, revenge, then give it a try.
Absolutely loved THE WILD GIRLS by Phoebe Morgan. A dark and delicious thriller with an atmospheric Botswana setting that’s chock-a-block full of twists and turns. I enjoyed the exploration of friendships and hidden secrets and the story kept me turning pages until the end. The characters were strong and there were surprises and revelations throughout until the tense and unexpected ending. Highly recommended.
Super quick read with far more potential. It does make you wonder though, would you agree to an all expenses paid trip with someone you had a falling out with years ago? This story has lots of mystery but just fell short for me.
A slightly different take on the whodunnit locked room mystery. An exotic location where the current story takes place. While the past story is slowly replayed from the characters home, the UK.
This was more intriguing than the typical standard. As the group arrives in Africa for their friend's birthday party, soon after begins the tale of someone or someones toying with them. However, in this one you aren't sure if it's one of the group or if its someone else unseen.
I love locked room mysteries. While this was a decent and solid read. However, it had much potential that wasn't fully executed. While entertaining, it also left a smaller feeling of disappointment, feeling unsatisfied.

I loved this read from Morgan! I was transported to the plains of Botswana and was bedazzled by the opulence of the safari lodge. However, as we all know, nothing in life comes for free, and I could not help but be suspicious as Felicity’s friends descended to this remote location.
For sure, this read grabs you from the beginning. As three estranged friends receive an all-expenses-paid invite to Felicity’s birthday celebrations in Botswana, it is evident that there is more to their friendship than we realise. Early on, Morgan alludes to a significant night in the friends’ past, one that seemingly is the cause for their friendship to grow distant. Yet, this does not deter Grace, Hannah and Alice who, for very different reasons, see this as an escape from daily-life pressures. Simultaneously, each of the friends have an agenda to make amends with Felicity, based on this fateful night that is referenced, although this does not become clear until later in the novel.
The extravagance of the lodge is truly overwhelming and I could vividly picture its luxury as the women arrive at the lodge. It has copious amounts of space which seems ideal when there is a birthday party coming up; indeed, the women see is as an indication of their long-term acquaintance with Felicity that they all have their own private, mini lodge that is away from the main social area. However, undeniably, this is cause for isolating the women from each other and I loved the growing mystery that develops over the story. From hidden clues and secret messages for each character, I could not anticipate how the novel would develop.
It is not until the mid-point of the novel does Morgan finally reveal what happened between the friends. By this point, readers feel that they truly know the characters in the story. Not correct! At last, the back story is finally revealed to readers and we are transported to London, two years previous. Suddenly the suspicions and ulterior motives start to make sense. As a result of this time-switch, I found my sympathies switching and yet, still could not predict how the novel would conclude when it returned to present day.
I enjoy this type of mystery-thriller, when it is apparent that characters are being “picked off” one by one. The suspicions mount and I could really get a sense of the panic and claustrophobia that the characters felt – even though they are ironically in a very broad, natural area. I think the setting really intensifies the tension in the story because it is an environment that none of the characters really know; removed from their comfort zone, they are definitely tested with their trust for one another.
An exotic, mystery thriller that will transport you to the sunny climes of Africa, and, if you are anything like me, probably tempt you to resist sleep in the urge to conclude this novel! It’s a great read from Morgan and one that I highly enjoyed.
With thanks to HQ Digital and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Old friends reconnecting is really becoming one of the most entertaining tropes in a thriller and I blame it on @tbretc 😉 There’s something so interesting to me about a group of people with a history that had a falling out and are now back together again. There’s always plenty of secrets too which doesn’t hurt and there was that here as well, I wish the secrets would’ve been a little juicier but they were still fun enough in the end. The setting was also great and had locked room vibes, there’s always something claustrophobic there and the added element of possible wildlife being a threat was great too. Unfortunately the threat of wildlife is about all you get here my one complaint is that I wish the setting was used more. Or at all, despite the synopsis talking about a safari lodge there was never a safari. Kinda odd for sure but I still mostly liked this one and the audio was great.
The premise of this book was great, unfortunately it fell flat. After like 50% of the book you already know who was kileld. The next 30-40% is basically just the "before" part when we get to know why the girld became estragned. I wasn't a huge fan of this way of telling the story - I much rather like when it's told piece by piece. The rest of the story we get to know who the killer was, which wasn't particulary surprising and too much straight forward for my liking. Also, even though the story takes place in Botswana you don't actually feel it. It could have been in Cornwall for all I know, since nothing there gave me the impression of even being abroad. A simple safari scene (with possibly a sinister twist, like one of the reviewers suggested) would have changed a great deal.
I also had a great problem with telling the three girls apart - every now and then I had to check who's the narrator in the chapter, because their voices were so somiliar.
I received the book from the Publsher in an exchange for an honest review
loved this. Playing out on the page like the very best of old school horror movies, The Wild Girls is a twisty, creepy and addictive thriller with a really excellent setting.
We have a group of friends who fell apart after one emotional night years ago. Now invited to Botswana to celebrate the birthday of one of their number, the hope is to put it all behind them. But, well, things are not going to go according to plan.
Phoebe Morgan creates an intriguing and layered group dynamic between these friends, all of whom are now in life various circumstances. The setting really pops – portrayed as beautiful isolation giving the sense of a locked room mystery – you really sink into it, feeling the heat and the panic.
The plotting is clever, taut and authentic, the ending brilliantly done and overall this was a most excellent read.
The Wild Girls, by Phoebe Morgan, reunites a group of old friends for an upscale foreign vacation, full of secrets, twists and danger. (Not to be confused with The Wilder Girls.) This reminded me of The Hunting Party, with the college friends and their secrets all together in a luxe resort. When this works, I really love it. (I was not a huge fan of The Guilt Trip or They Did Bad Things but there's a similar theme.)
Years ago, Felicity, Grace, Hannah and Alice were a tight group of school friends. But their friendships imploded after what was meant to be a fun night out revealed too many secrets. Now Felicity has reached out to the others with invitations to a blowout 30th birthday party in Botswana.
The reunion is tense at first, as the former friends look at each other nervously, but the gorgeous resort and the fun activities Felicity has set up change their minds. There are realistic and gently emotional moments as old friends try to reconcile the girls they remember with the women they see now, which develops the characters and when the suspense starts, this only makes it more dramatic.
I liked the suspense and the exotic setting a great deal (although after the last year and half in my apartment, I'd probably have just chilled in my own plunge pool instead of investigating anything). There are twists and shocks in The Wild Girls, right up to the end.
Having previously enjoyed Morgan's other novels, I was excited to get stuck into this thriller predominantly set in Botswana.
The enticing plot if four friends reunited for a birthday celebration in the lavished luxury lodge where something pivitol happened between this group who've have fallen out. The nuggets of lies and betrayals slowly being revealed helps keep the pages turing...
The Birthday girl Felicity now resides in New York and has paid for the whole weekend for all of them. Seeing Alice, Grace and Hannah meeting at Heathrow and how each of them having distinctive roles and getting reacquainted adds a nice dynamic.
Things start to unravel quickly which helps build the tension. The setting is grear and the pacing is speedy, I lapped it up over a weekend.
Felicity, Hannah, Alice & Grace were the best of friends. Then everything changed. So when, out of the blue, a message comes to invite them to Felicity’s birthday party they aren’t sure. But as it’s all expenses paid, and in a remote safari lodge in Botswana, they are pretty easily convinced. However when Grace, Alice and Hannah get there, they find it deserted with Felicity crying off, claiming she’s poorly. Then there are the enigmatic messages hinting at past misdemeanours…
Have the ‘Wild Girls’ made a big mistake trying to resurrect their friendship?
I listened to most of this on audio, wrapping it up with a library book and it really kept me captivated. A seamlessly and very enjoyable thriller which kept me on my toes and intrigued me hugely. I loved the location too, very exotic. I’ll be looking out for more books by this author as I was very impressed by this.
This was a great book to read. It starts off with a bang and then keeps you going all the way through to the end. At times I found it lagged and being a mum myself I couldn’t believe that a new mum would fly off to Botswana and leave a little baby behind it’s something that wouldn’t even enter my mind. Apart from that this book was good. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
The Wild Girls was certainly a wild one. As soon as I read the synopsis I knew this was a book for me. Phoebe Morgan's books have always been serious page turners and I flew though the audiobook of this. The location was something different for me as well. Great thriller, highly recommend this and all of her books.
Grace, Felicity, Hannah and Alice are known as The Wild Girls... at least they used to be. Thick as thieves and getting themselves into all sorts of situations. Until that night 2 years ago that ripped their friendship group apart. They have now hardly seen or heard from each other until an invitation arrives in the mail. An all expenses paid trip to Botswana for a girls weekend to celebrate Felicity's birthday. But when they arrive at the luxury safari lodge, Felicity is not there to meet them. And then strange things start to happen. With no phone service, this trip would be dangerous.
