Toxic

Rate this book
Loammi “Law” Richardson was forced to become the head of his household after the death of his father. Known for his constant brush with the law, Loammi doesn’t mind taking penitentiary chances in order to take care of his mother and siblings. Stuck in a toxic situation with his ex, The last thing Loammi expected was to fall in love— until he met her. Mi’Amor was only supposed to be a pawn in his little game, but she ended up shaking up Loammi’s world, forcing him to rethink his motives.

Mi’Amor Chanel Richardson was born into money. With hard working parents and a successful YouTube channel, the young bombshell lived her life care freely— until she met him. Drawn to the bad boy, the type of guy her mother forbade her to bring home, Mi’Amor finds herself caught up in a whirlwind of toxic situations.

Young and in love the pair struggle with toxicity. Will their relationship make it to the end, or will their toxic ways tarnish everything they’ve built?

This book is filled with toxicity, I'm talking red flags every fucking where. Be prepared to fall in
love, laugh, cry, get mad and want to fuck some shit up. In the end you might still be mad and want to fuck some more shit up, or you might just smile and be at peace with the
way things ended. Either way, this some shit you’re going want to read. A real hood, ghetto, ratchet love story.

Toxic!!!

This book lived up to its name. I’ve never seen such dysfunction. Lucinda wrote this book with so much emotion! I laughed, cursed, screamed and cried all while reading how Law and Marshy’s life unfold. I thoroughly enjoyed the buildup and constant need for more. I was shocked with the ending, but happy to know that they both grew up. Their toxic energy reminded me of real relationships and how sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants. Overall this book was phenomenal!! The drama will reel you in, but the character development is what will have you losing sleep. Bravo, Lucinda, bravo!!!!

I loved this book. It was very toxic like its name but it was also extremely funny and entertaining. All of the couples are hilariousssss. I love the growth and character development. I don’t wanna spoil it but I love the accountability and maturity throughout the story. I also love that my girl kept that same energy. That get back a mf 🤣🤣😂😂 she upped the mf score on him, as she should’ve.

This is my first read by this author... I do like her writing style... I did enjoy this book and all the drama that it brought to the table... It had a nice steady flow and captured my attention and held it the whole way through... I felt a connected to the characters and had me talking to the book because man they were getting on my nerves... I say three quarters through it started feeling a little rushed and it jumped big time like 9 years and I just felt like I missed a big chunk of these char lives... Then to close it out it was kind of like an after thought... like here is some to make it end... Wish it did not make me feel a little confused at times...
I really liked Loammi (Law).. He was super smooth and kind of laid back... Yet deadly... All these women wanted him and some men wished that they were him... He was very smart and had a pretty good head on his shoulders... He just had to hit the streets in order to hold his family down... Once his good friend and mentor was killed things kind if changed... He was doing good and had a baby on the way by his friend Cortez sister Anissa... But once he went to jail... She killed that dream and any chance their relationship had... Yet once he got out she was now trying to be all up under him like she never did him dirty the whole time he was in there... With everything she did... He could never see her the same... No matter how hard he tried... Then to find out that one of the guys in their crew named Julius was low key hating on him... Law quietly went about showing Julius who the man really is... He snatched the one girl that Julius really wanted and right from under his nose... Matrwr of fact, it looks like all the women that Julius has been with also craved ro be with Law... The hate ran so deep... But only one can come out on top...
Mi'Amor was young and had all the guys after her... She was still a virgin and was different from most of the hood girls... She had Julius nose wide open... Then here comes Loammi and just like that things in Julius love change and he starts losing it all...
I was so over how Mi'Amor was acting... I get in the beginning she was young and didn't have any idea of how to be in a relationship... Especially with a older man... But as she got older... She still just kept playing games... I get that she was tired of Loammi not being consistent... But this man bent over backwards to make sure she was happy at all times... He catered to her every need... She had what most woman want in a man... But she took his love for granted... I mean yes he was wrong and he hurt her deeply... And yes she needed to get away from all that Toxicity for a while and regroup... But she went a little further and walked away completely and with the kids and to the arms of another man... She was out there doing her and he was out there doing him... But I think she was more sneaky and did way more than he did... But she still keeps putting all the blame on him... I just wanted Alw to find someone that would make him happier than Mi'Amor and give her a dose of her own medicine... But I guess the heart wants what the heart wants... Even if it is Toxic...

The Law Period

The only thing wrong with this book is the name toxic, it should be called The Law!! I can't remember ever reading another urban book where the under dog trumps every obstacle, and remains at the top of the game with the baddest female and comes out above the law, pun intended. Looami Law Richardson and Mi'Amori needed a whooping the way they toxic behinds cut up in this book. I loved the character creation and the way this author built her up from a naive virgin that wasn't completely innocent to a young woman that didn't let you play in her face, and will pop a ninja in the mouth quick. I can't tell you how good this story is without revealing too much. You just gotta read it and re-read because it's that good. Lucinda John is that beast with a pen!!! This one will put you all in your emotions.

OMG

I loved it. When I say this book truly lived up to its name it did. First I felt bad for Anissa I wanted her and law to get back together. Than when she said she really wanted Julius. Her not being with Julius cause she was smashing the homies when Julius did her wrong first. I felt sorry for her. Im glad Mi amor and law ended up together. They really should a been married. I didn’t think her pain would cause her to sleep with other people. Of law said he would of excepted her with a baby she would a never got that far with Shadow. I guess until law had messed up again. And Tink sending that message did cause the last straw but law should a been honest. I hope Jabo get it together for they kill each other. I’m glad rumor and Jonathan good. After what they said happen before. Im was happy with the outcome

This book was exceptionally written. It was to the point where I just could not put it down. It is a long read and I am glad instead of doing two books and waiting to see what happens. The way the characters were in the book you really felt like you new them. I would suggest that Rumor and Elvie maybe get a book as well because there lives were interesting and would have love to see how they made it. Now Law and Mi Amour this love thing was intense and exciting but it also got me to see what happens when a man finally grows up and wants his family. I loved his mama because she loved him but she didn't uphold him in his bs. It was a truly great read it focuses a lot on whats important in life.

I liked it!

I must admit I was a bit skeptical after reading some reviews but I'm glad I decided to still check this story. Finallyyyy, we get a story where the main female character is not really a pushover. I'm so tired of reading stories where a female is getting beat on but refuses to leave or
knows her man is cheating but scared to confront him. Don't get me wrong, there were moments within the book where both characters annoyed me but it was good to see them get it together in the end.

Yassss hunty! This book was everything. The Drama was off The chain but it made you think about some real life things. Law has a good heart but with the things Anissa put him through caused him to be toxic. Amor was abusive and i don't think she realized it. She was always hitting Law and then play victim like she wasn't out there cheating.. This book made you think about your own relationship.

😍😍😍😍😍

Lordddd Mi’Amor & Law done put time through it reading about them. But i love every part of this book from begging to end. Everything was so real and the characters had me feeling like it was my actual life. I was here crying cursing them out and all. Def happy with the ending. Sometimes toxic isn’t for everyone but once you grow up toxic becomes what u always wanted and i believe they both were meant for each other.

Toxic at its best

This book was so good from beginning to the end!

Mi’Amor was most definitely the Toxic one in the relationship always hitting Law and she had not 1 but 2 side dudes at one time! And Law really loved her, but was a off too lol they both were, and that’s what made the book so good! And the friend ship Mi’Amor had with her friends was so real!! We need more friends like that!!

Awwww this book was sweet

This book made me want to be loved right. It made you want a man who would notice and appreciate the little things. Someone who not only hears you but listens to you. Relationships are not perfect but Marshy stuck and stayed as long as she could, playing the game. It wasn't until she bossed up and stopped playing the game that her man took her seriously and got his shit together. A very good read.

718?! What a ride.
I enjoyed every single page. This was a messy, toxic, dysfunctional roller coaster in the best way. I was rooting for Loammi and Marsy from the start.

If there’s a cheating trope, I NEED the FMC to get her lick back, and the way Mi’Amour handled hers actually caught me off guard and impressed me.

I will say a lot of the chaos could’ve been avoided if Mi’Amour sat her hot in the pants behind down for two seconds and was single. But that’s what made it entertaining.

Lucinda did the dang on thang with this book. This book had a beginning, middle, and end. The readers were able to literally watch Mi'mora and Law grow up. I have not wrote a review in a long time, however after reading this book I felt compelled to share with others this is one of the best books I have read in 2021.

Toxic

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️what a ride! The roller coaster that Marshy and Law had us on was full of flips and turns. This standalone doesn’t owe me a thing! I felt each emotion as they put each other through he most. I love that Mi’Amor didn’t just sit by idly while Law did his thing. I hope we get a spin off with Jabo and Elvie…they are toxic squared!

Lawww!

Whewww this was good! I love that Law was even put his hurt aside to be there for Mi'Amore when she went in labor with another man baby and pretty much was doing for her like she was his. In relationship you have your issue and sometimes it's toxic but being in love usally trumps it.

Entertaining and toxic

This book was so good. Mi’Amore and Liommi were so toxic and messy. I was here for all the drama. This book held my attention from beginning to end. Marshy have Law a taste of his own medicine and he was sick!! I bet he’ll think again about playing with her feelings. The ending was perfection!

This book is everything 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I love that you get to follow their journey from the very beginning to the end. Law was definitely bae with his toxic ass. Lucinda John did her thing with this one. I was really hoping they went to couples therapy at some point but they worked it out in their own way like most of us do which made the story even better 🔥🔥🔥👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🏆🏆🏆

Law was a good man most of the time but he kept playing around and almost lost his soulmate. It seemed Like both Law and Marshy attracted crazy people. They were indeed Toxic but I was glad to see they got it together. Poor Shadow though he seemed like a good man.
