Suburban Defense: A cop's guide to protecting your home and neighborhood during riots, civil war, or SHTF.

Rate this book
America has entered a time when civil disturbances, unrest, and mobs threaten near-anarchy on the streets of suburbia as police are unwilling or unable to protect citizens from rioters. Our nation has entered a time where it is divided in a way we haven’t seen since 1861. We are on the verge of a civil war. This book isn’t to convince you we are at that point or how we got there; this book is to give you ideas on how to protect yourself, your home, and your neighborhood when evil threatens and the police cannot protect you.

Many prepper and survivalist manuals give up suburbia as lost, focusing on rural communities. Not all of us are fortunate to have self-sufficient homesteads in the country, but are trapped in suburbia. What does an urbanite do when SHTF comes to the suburbs?

This book is how average people, with no military or law enforcement skills, who haven’t been steeping themselves in the prepper/patriot movement for years can defend a modern American suburban neighborhood. Military and police tactics have been adapted for realistic scenarios that civilians might face.
This book is If you want to stay safe and protect yourself and your neighborhood from people seemingly bent on destroying the country for destruction’s sake, this is your guide.

A detailed, no-nonsense guide for the average citizen to plan for civil unrest up to the classic apocalypse situation. And the author, drawing upon his law enforcement background, makes it very clear that unless things truly have gone 'Mad Max', you can and will be held accountable at some point for legally sketchy actions. It doesn't factor if you're a SO operator, just someone who want to keep their city, neighborhood and home intact against violence and offers common sense solutions. A wake up call for the person who thinks - My neighbor would NEVER do that (ps, they turned you in during lock downs, didn't they?) or the wound really tight person that thinks they'll just shoot their way out of every situation. Give it a read, give it to some neighbors and make some plans. Because as a first responder friend of mine says, "It's too late to learn CPR at the scene of the accident"

Not a bad introduction to the topic, although some of the extreme examples seem a bit over the top and others are rather generic (not totally unexpected given every state has different laws) . Nice to see the suburbs get some attention, rather than the cities which may be a lost cause or the doomsday prepper zones in Big Sky Country. For the edition itself, it probably should have gotten another pass or two from the editors; the table of contents is horribly wrong and there are definitely a few typos/"wordos." If nothing else, it makes one look at that lovely gentrifying highway a bit differently.

Good information!

This is a book full of good information for people worried about protecting themselves and family if society begins to collapse or if protests or demonstrations come to your area.

The advice is well thought out and practical.

An interesting read, though much of the information, especially in the latter chapters, is not going to be applicable in a non-WROL situation. This is still a good book to get the reader thinking about what potential escalations may look like in their neighborhood and how to plan for contingencies.

He raised valid realities

A well put together book outlining facts regarding mob action. Making your neighborhood "appear" to be raided and burned, these days would need to appear this way from the air. Lots of need to ensure some safety by appearing to be useless.
