Minerva McGonagall steps in on the awful night the Potter are killed and arranges to have Harry Potter raised by Sirius Black and his somewhat cousins, the Malfoys. Draco and Harry grow up as almost brothers and everything - everything - is different.
Basically Harry Potter if the adults acted like adults and took responsibility to prevent the war. I really enjoyed it. And of course we have Dramione "I found you in this life and I'll find you in another" fluff.
This is now a finished work on A03 - it is a time travel retelling of Harry Potter in that Draco & Hermione risk their future relationship to prevent Voldemort from winning. They use the last time turner to travel back in time 20 years to tell McGonagall and Narcissa Malfoy about the horcruxes, Voldermort, and how to save Harry Potter from living with the horrible Aunt Petunia.
If you haven’t read Harry Potter in the first place, it will be very difficult to follow along. I really enjoyed the thought that went into the replacement of the horcruxes - especially Tom Riddle’s diary. I thought the ideas behind removing Harry from the Dursley’s was wonderful and feeling like Sirus would have stepped up to raise Harry with Narcissa’s help.
While the spice was 0, the story kept my attention and I read it in a few days.
4️⃣ out of 5️⃣ from me.

Fun reading, very enjoyable! Finished it in a couple days, couldn't put it down. Loved reading a "what if adults behaved like adults and children got to be children" fanfic. Had a little trouble connecting to the young main characters Draco, Harry and Hermione. Loved to discover this version of Narcisa, Sirius, Lucius, Remus, and, of course, Minerva! I did miss Ginny, Tonks, Andromeda and a smart Dumbledore tho. Sometimes we feel like the story is passing wayyy too quickly. Almost half of the book happens before their third year, and after that is all just speeds up till the end.
Overall, it's a great fic with some pretty original ideas.
I can’t rate this fic because I liked it but at the same time was frustrated because there was just not enough Draco and Hermione development- and that’s not to say I didn’t love that they were just it for each other since year one, I just wanted more of them. This fic is more about the adults protecting the kids and I loved that but the numerous changes in pov and the speed in which this fic moves took away from any character growth. I was bummed by the main character death and had a hard time recovering after it happened- especially the way one character reacted- maybe 2. This fic is more plot driven than character driven but I did like Minerva, snape, Sirius, Remus, Narcissa and Lucius’s plotting and motivation. The twist with Neville was interesting. I thought Draco and Harry’s relationship in the beginning - up until that moment- was great and so realistic and Harry totally behaved as a spoiled kid raised by Sirius. But for a dramione fic, they almost felt like side characters which is why I can’t rate this story cause I’m torn.

Seriously inhaled this story. Loved everything except a character death that broke my heart. Freaking loved Draco and Harry being brothers. In a world where Harry and many others are dead, Draco and Hermione travel back in time to warn Minerva and Narcissa about what happened to lead them down that path. Both women take immediate action, first by making sure Harry is raised with Sirius and not an aunt that hates him. As the kids grow, the adults around them work behind the scenes to protect their childhood and plan for Voldermort's return. I love how Minerva made sure to keep Harry from becoming a solider in a war he never should've fought. The adults all worked to protect their innocence. I love the way this author writes Snape and his dry, sarcastic humor. Draco and Hermione were so adorable together and no one could tell them they shouldn't be together. Seriously addictive read.
This story grows on you. I started it twice, and only with the second attempt did I manage to read it till the end. I like more slow-burn stories. And this one, where from year one kids are talking about relationships, hand holding, etc, didn't seem real to me. But it's an interesting point of view at the canon events, one of the 'what if' stories. And the way it's written, it could be a legit and canon one of its own kind. And I liked the characters, they seemed real. The friendship between Harry and Draco, the character of Harry if he had been raised by someone else, the competition with the Slytherins, the change in Blaise, and much more. But one word: Neville. Oh, I haven't seen this version of him before. He gave me goosebumps.

Absolutely loved it. It’s such a refreshing take on this whole dramione fan fiction genre without it being so dark and focused on the war and/or on the relationship between Draco and Hermione.
The story focused on the banter between everyone, the relationships between Harry and Draco, Narcissa and Sirius, even Snape, McGonagal and even Lucius had their moments. It’s one of the most hilarious dramione stories I’ve read.
4 - love the concept and the beginning but near 3rd year I really started to get bored. I’m such a romance person that I really wish we saw more of Draco and Hermione, even though they were super cute. I just felt like things fell a little flat (like them being obsessed with otters and dragons their whole childhood and then finding out it’s their patronus just was underwhelming).
super mediocre. prose is super clunky & the writing is poor, plus i'm not a fan of the characterization. lots of things are glossed over so the writer doesnt have to deal w them. i'd give this 1 star but i feel like it's insulting to put it on the same level as trash like all the other dramione fics i've given 1 star
This story is not complete so I'm not entirely sure why it's on Goodreads. However, I did read up to the end of the 2015 updates so I'm counting this as finished on my personal TBR. I hope someone updates the page count once it's done, as I will carry on reading.
Dramione. The Order is losing the war, only Hermione are left alive, they go back in time and warn McGonagall and Narcissa. Changing all their lives. Harry and Draco are raised like brothers. Heart wrenching. ❤
Slogged through it and just have no motivation to finish. Concept sounded good but I felt some things important were glossed over. The Dramione wasn’t a strong focus which isn’t necessarily bad but, the story didn’t hold my interest enough to finish.
