A girl stuck in her routine. A flirty new neighbor who pushes her out of it. And a potential future they’d be fools to give up.

I've always been a routine kind of girl.
I bake. I run. I pretend I'm in a happy relationship. Then I bake some more.
Just. Like. Clockwork.

Until my new neighbor ruins everything.
My new neighbor who happens to visit my bakery every morning with a cocky smirk and a suggestion that I butter his biscuits.

Oh, and did I mention the worst part?
He works with my boyfriend.

My boyfriend who’s completely oblivious that every time he bails on a date and sends Rhett in his place, I'm pushed closer to the edge of falling for someone who isn't him.

But I'm not a cheater.
And neither is Rhett.
So where does that leave me?

It leaves me screwed.
Well, not literally, but you get my point.

They say the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
But...what if it really is?

Kelsie is a sucker for a love story with all the feels. When she's not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, hanging out with her husband and playing with her three kiddos who love to drive her crazy.

She adores photography, baking, her yorkie, Bob, and her devon rex, Mara. And now that she's actively pursuing her writing dreams, she's set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not binge-watch an entire series on Netflix in one sitting.

Another great book by Kelsie Rae. I Loved this book so much!!! It gave me all the feels. I loved the characters and their playful banter. I’m so happy that everything worked out for Indie and Rhett and that neither of them caved on the rules they felt were important to live by. This is Kelsie’s 4th book and I’ve read and loved all of them. I will definitely be reading all of her upcoming books as soon as they are released.

Rhett and Indie are adorable and complicated. Rhett is the guy we all want to find, he’s actually nice, gorgeous, well to do, loves his mom, has character and refuses to have anything to do with cheating. So of course Indie is the girl with the convoluted life. In a going nowhere relationship with Tony, they’ve literally known each other since the cradle, what does she do when Rhett moves next door?

There’s no cheating in this book, which is really refreshing in this day and age. Both characters have issues stemming from their childhood, Rhett’s mom was cheated on, and Indie’s SO is actually her mom’s bestie’s son. With all the complicated dynamics, sorting things out will hit bumps and snags, and things are never as clean as they seem. But you root for them, and I definitely fell a little in love with Rhett myself.

I am loving the Signature Sweethearts series by Kelsie Rae. They are such sweet and charming reads with very likeable characters and stories we can get lost in and Rhett is no different.

Rhett is a good guy with a heart of gold. He is sweet, honest and caring, but has one rule, no cheating. This is important to him and a rule he does not break. Indie is in a place in her life she is comfortable even if she is not happy. She has been in a relationship going nowhere for a long time but seems complacent for now. Then she meets her neighbor, Rhett.

Indie knows her current relationship is going nowhere, but there is so much history there, how does she walk away? Then she meets Rhett and they hit it off immediately. Can Indie see what is right in front of her and what has been long gone before it’s too late?

I loved Rhett and Indie and no worries here, there is no cheating. Just two people who find each other and see possibilities. Things are not always easy, but I loved their journey so much. I have quickly become a huge fan of Kelsie Rae. I love her characters and stories and look forward to reading more from her.

She has done it again! she has written another phenomenal story!! Rhett is an amazing man and shows how a lady should be treated!
When Rhett and Indie first meet she is in a relationship.
There is an instant attraction between the two but when Rhett finds out about her boyfriend he puts her in the off limits category. They become friends over Cronuts. Indie owns a bakery.
Indie's relationship has been lacking for years, her and Tony are basically just roommates who've known each other their whole lives. Indie finally ends things with Tony after he leaves her hanging again.

Rhett finally makes his move and things are explosive!!!
Him and Indie are amazing together!
Their chemistry is off the charts and one of the things I love about this author's books is that the s*x doesn't take over the whole story.
I'm so glad that they work through the things that threaten to year them apart and make it their HEA!

This was my first read from author Kelsie Rae. Since her debut LIV, I've heard non-stop internet chatter about how awesome her books are, so I was excited to receive a copy of RHETT from Kelsie to read and review. I totally adore the concept of this series - stand-alones that also work as companions to one another without a requirement to read them in a certain order. I'm kinda anti-series lately, so the fact that this could be read alone was a huge bonus for me.

It seems like I took forever to finish this one, but I didn't actually start it until after recovering from the holidays taking over my life, and after getting by with audiobooks for awhile and leaving this one on the back burner. But once I picked RHETT up again, it was only about 5 days or so of before-bed sessions before I had it completed; it's a quick, easy, likable read.

I appreciated that this wasn't a cheating book, because that definitely wouldn't have worked for me. My favorite thing was Indie and Rhett's chemistry, and their bonding over food. What's not to like about that, right? Their relationship was simple and Hallmark-y, and I went into the read knowing approximately what I'd get (yet I still enjoyed the ride that got me from point A to B to C). Indie and Rhett are both charming characters, if not admittedly cheesy and even a bit juvenile at times in their interactions/thoughts/dialogue...

...which is pretty much where my complaints centered - small characterizations and moments that were so on-the-nose, or so cookie-cutter contemp. romance genre that I...well, let's just say I was cringing a bit now and then. 🙊 And I'll admit, I'm not necessarily conventional when it comes to REAL "romance novels", you know what I'm saying? I don't gravitate toward the steamy stuff. I more so appreciate romance that is profound and meaningful, even in the tiny things, such as implied attraction. So the multiple varied mentions of wet panties and blood running south and looks of pure lust that I encountered in this book...I just can't with that! 😶 For many reasons. It's a preference thing, I know, but regardless, it's how I feel. 🤷‍♀️ And since these books were marketed as being "sweet romances", I guess I had it in my head that they would be cleaner than that, so I was left disappointed there.

There was also a portion of the book that was almost completely devoid of conflict, and while it was nice to see Indie and Rhett growing their bond, it was uneventful otherwise, which made it a slow section for me.

Aside from those complaints, however, this was a cute story about (mostly) pleasant characters in a fun little environment that I enjoyed reading about. There were several parts that were hyper-realistic to me, and I totally loved that because it made the story so immersive in those instances. Everything wrapped up neatly with a pretty bow in the end, so if you love your endings happy, this is a great choice. And hey, there were no F-bombs! ✊ That's hard to find in most contemp. these days.

3.5/5 stars

I was given a copy of this book for free in exchange for my honest review. (Big thank you, Kelsie!)

Rhett is an amazing falling for the neighbor read. I love the banter and chemistry between Rhett and Indie. You feel for Indie and her struggles with Tony all those years growing up together and pushed by the parents are bound to make ending anything difficult. Indie really beings to blossom once Rhett enters the picture. I love how sweet Rhett is when it comes to Indie and how he puts her first before work. This is another amazing read in the Signature Sweethearts series. I love how Kelsie Rae brings in the sweet with a little bit of angst. This is a one click read.

Rhett (Signature Sweethearts) by Kelsie Rae

The grass always seems greener on the other side of the fence, but when dreaming with a broken heart does that ever turn out to be true? Rhett is the exploration of the road less traveled. Indie and Rhett want to be happy, yet are afraid to risk their hearts. Can they move out of the past to gain a happy future? Kelsie Rae has a knack for seeing beyond the negative. With an understanding heart, an empathetic ear and a plethora of wisdom, we can weather any storm.

Kelsie never fails to write a story that makes your heart beat and sometimes drop to your stomach. Indie and Rhett have an instant attraction. The kind you can sense. Indie is in a relationship from her childhood sweetheart, but sadly it’s lacking all the sparks that she has from Rhett. I love their easy banter, their connection and how they both love their mama’s. You get some drama, some laughs and your happily ever after. Can’t wait to read Sophie and sexy Nate next!!!!

I am really falling more and more in love with Kelsie's work. Just like the other books I loved this book so dang much, this one may just be my favorite. I loved these twos playful banter! Indie is an amazing man and is all about showing women how they should be treated. The attraction between these two is off the charts, even though when they first meet Rhett was in a relationship. Rhett and Tony are really more like roommates then boyfriend and girlfriends. She finally ends it with Tony and takes a chance with Indie. These twos are explosive from the very beginning. I was drawn in to this book right away. I really honestly wish I could give this book more then 5* because it deserves it. This is a must read! Go get your copy now you will not be sorry.

Omg!!!! You will totally fall in love with Rhett. This book I could do not put down. When Rhett meets Indie he has standards about who to date and why. Indie is the same. Will she fall in love with him against all odds?

Loved this book by far the best from Kelsie Rae. Can’t wait to see what is next?

Let me lead with a fact, and not just my opinion: just because this book didn’t do it for me, does not mean it won’t do it for someone else! If you are into quick reads with minimal story / character development and a rapid arrival HEA, you will like this. I picked this book because the reviews were decent and the synopsis sounded cute and catchy.... sadly I didn’t find it to be either.
Cons: the writing style is better suited for high school readers honestly, which is apparent from the get go.
It feels like the author tries too hard. The humor for example.. it’s overly exaggerated at times and comes across as disingenuous, versus endearing. The main characters describe each other as “masterpieces”.. and “the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.” I mean seriously, something more original and less cringe worthy next time pleaseee. The maturity level of writing in this read gives a very young adult (teen) feel.
I didn’t feel any real connection to or with the characters to actually remain engaged in the book. It was hard to connect with it because it lacked depth, at the core if it.
The story line? A commonly recycled story with not one single unique aspect. Girl is in a stale long term relationship and falls in love with hot new neighbor in the course of a whole five minutes. It’s almost as if the book was desperately written in a rush.. Personally, I found it to lack personality, originality, and most importantly, heart! It’s a next please, for me.. sorry :(

I was really looking forward to this installment of the Signature Sweethearts series.
Though I’ve got to say it was not my favourite by a long shot.
It took way too long to have any sort of plot twist. Like 90 plus percent in. I found its pace was slow and at times boring. I put this book down more times then I picked it back up. The epilogue was interesting but too late in the game to redeem the book and at the same time it felt rushed. Such a shame. I really wanted to enjoy Indie and Rhett’s story.

Such a sweet story. This little story brings all the feels and a little pain. It shows how sometimes we have to forget comfort and go with our gut feelings. There are times in our life where we become complacent and scared to do what needs to be done. We are trying to live our life for someone else. When what we really need to do is live our best life. Sometimes that means inflicting heartache on someone else. Seriously, how can you be happy living a lie?
Then there’s the other side where you have to trust someone and stop thinking you already know the answers because someone you love has been hurt in the past by circumstances that have nothing to do with you.
Both Rhett and Indie are the people you want to know. They are beautiful inside and out but both have their issues. The problem neither one communicates fully. It’s a common issue with many people face. Then one of them assumes that they know what’s going on. The problem with assuming is many times you’re wrong.
This little story brings a lot to the table. It’s sweet, steamy, a little angsty, and brings many smiles. You’ll be pulling for these two from the beginning. It will also make you hungry. So be prepared.
I read this book in one sitting. This is my first book by this author I don’t think it will be my last.

Rhett Jacobs has just moved to town and is blown away by his sexy across the hall neighbor. She is everything he wants in a girl until he learns she is in a relationship and that halts everything.

Indie Peterson owns her own bakery and has been in a relationship with Tony for years. The two have been through a lot but lately Tony is always at work and never around for Indie and she knows that their relationship is dying but she is afraid to end it.

When Indie spends time with Rhett she realizes this is how she is supposed to feel with Tony. Can Indie follow her heart or will her guilty conscience make her stay with Tony?

This was a good book about finding yourself and stepping away from what you know into the unknown.

I thought Rhett was a total stand up guy and I loved that with his past and childhood he completely avoided getting tangled up with unavailable ladies. Rhett worked hard but he also seemed to have a good balance in his life. I loved that he found a dog and how he took care of it.

I thought Indie was a great character and I was in total envy that she had her own bakery! I admit I even went onto Pinterest to try and find a cronut recipe!! I felt bad for Indie with her relationship with Tony but as the book went on I understood more and more why she had been in it for so long and why she was scared to leave.

The chemistry between Rhett and Indie was clear right from the beginning and I loved how others recognized it!

The end with Tony was intense but I loved when he and Indie talked about everything!

I thought the very end was awesome and I look forward to more in this series!

Kelsie Rae delivers another adorable love story with Rhett! Rhett and Indie bond over cronuts, and their relationship is just as sweet as the yummy pastry! The attraction between them is clear from the start, but she has a live-in boyfriend and as a child of divorce, Rhett has vowed to never fall for an unavailable woman.

Indie’s current relationship is quite complicated. She’s basically living as roommates with the boyfriend she’s had since high school. Their lives are so intertwined, she just keeps existing with Tony. But her encounters with Rhett make her realize that there is more to being in a relationship than being complacent. KR does a great job of conveying Indie’s confusion, and having these two characters fall for one another and try to fight it. (There is no cheating, as Indie breaks up with Tony before anything happens with Rhett!)

This book is easily read in a single sitting, full of cute moments and a sweet instalove between two incredibly likable characters. As always, KR packs a romantic punch without relying on descriptive sexy scenes, which is so refreshing! Rhett is a feel-good romance that you don’t want to miss! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Something as simple as a letter through the wrong letterbox is all it takes for life to change,  you wouldn't think it would you?!

An invitation dismissed, thoughts of family life and a promise made to himself, never to be broken no matter what.

Rhett Jacobs is the guy who makes your knees wobble dangerously, your heart beat erratically and why.. because he's everything you could ever want and so much more too.

Indie Peterson is the creater of delicious mouth watering cronuts. A baker by day and a temptation by night.

Undervalued in her reletionship, and taken for granted. Indie is more successful in her business life than her personal life

Sadness overcomes you at the beginning of this book as Indie works her magic on your emotions. It's easy to relate to her situation.

A heart warming story of yummy baked goodies, business deals and following your
heart no matter what.

I've read all of Kelsie Raes books and I love her style of writing. It's refreshing and quite unique.

Beautiful characters, and a rich storyline, full of romance and love. Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

This is my first time reading author Kelsie Rae and it did not disappoint. The two characters in this story have instant chemistry and sparks but are ignoring them because Indie is in a 13 year relationship that is failing and Rhett refuses to go after someone who's unavailable. It really just makes Rhett even more attractive in my opinion. In meeting Rhett, Indie realizes that her relationship is not now or hasn't really ever been what it should be and that what she is feeling for her neighbor is something that was missing from her own relationship. Rhett is battling his feelings for Indie as he grows closer and closer to her and she opens up more and more to him realizing she needs the final change she's been putting off. Decisions get made, misunderstandings ensue and there is always the inevitable break up that occurs. The question is who does she choose? You'll have to read to find out!! You won't regret it!

What a sweet treat from this author! I read ALOT, and alot of what I read gets dark and twisty and sometimes I need a happy book where its more about figuring themselves out and how to be better and how to find whats missing and add to your life and I feel thats what this author brings to the table. She writes about love that makes your heart smile. Her characters make you feel like they deserve their HEA and I love that. I think so many of us have been where Indie was at some point in our lives, its relate-able feelings. She and Rhett are so cute together. They have certainly been through enough in their own right. You will be smiling at the end of this story, and looking forward to more of this authors work!

Kelsie has this sweet and endearing way of telling a story and it touches your heart. Rhett and Indie have amazing chemistry and make me grin at how likable they are. There is just one problem....Tony. He is like the long lost puppy that follows you home and never leaves because he’s comfortable.

This story teaches you about meeting the love of your life when and where you least expect it. It also shows you families may have the best intentions but they might not be the best for you. This book will also make you hungry if you like baked sweet treats and I am still drooling over the cronuts. Kelsie this book is a must read that makes me smile, laugh, groan and want to shake someone. I also wish I had a next door neighbor like Rhett. This story sizzles with amazing chemistry, complications, humor, love, passion and faith and I couldn’t put it down.

If you love a sweet love story then Rhett is a perfect book for you!
This story is full of all the good feels that one has when a new Romance is blooming. He and his new neighbor Sophie have a instant attraction to each other but she is not available. She has been in a relationship with the same man for most of her life, but the chemistry between her and Rhett is nothing like anything she has ever felt before. Once she finally examines the differences in her feelings toward each of these men, she has to pick and it really is no contest at all. She loves them both but she loves Tony as a friend and Rhett holds her heart.

5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

I loved everything about this story. Kelsie Rae come up with another amazing group of characters. I loved Rhett. The chemistry between he and Indie is off the charts. I loved how they instantly connected. Because of her relationship, Indie was off limits in the beginning. It didn't take her long to see what she was missing out on. When Rhett finally gets his moment, boy is it great to watch. I loved seeing him fall. I loved watching Indie get the positive side of a relationship.

This story was everything I've come to love from Kelsie Rae. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

We all need a Rhett!

Rhett has a rule that he will never have anything to do with cheating in a relationship. His mother was cheated on and Rhett saw the pain that developed from the deceit. Just to make him more lovable, he is good looking, makes a good living, and he’s a nice guy!

Indie lives next door. The two have instant chemistry, but neither will act on it. Indie has been in a relationship with Tony for years! They’ve known each other since they were children, and Indie knows the relationship is not going anywhere. And then to top it off, Tony is her mother’s best friend’s son! So what’s Indie going to do and how do you hurt the one who’s been with you forever?

The story has angst, laughs and swoons! A wonderful read with lots of overall good feelings!

I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it.

This story made you feel sorry for the main person and the way her life was going. She loved her business and what she did but her home life was more like having a room mate then a boyfriend. Focus on work and just well acting settled and content in what their life was like they both pretty much just let things go. Then a neighbor moved in across the hall and everything changed. He felt something right away but after finding out that she had a live in boyfriend, he swore he would never do what his dad did to his mom so made it clear they could only be friends and she felt the same way. The story is one filled with go for it and then no that's not the right thing and oh wake up. I found myself yelling at the book a bit with what should really happen with the couple. I couldn't put it down so the author did her job for sure.

4.5 stars for this original, cute story! Rhett is easy to fall in love with as he is sexy, good looking and a swoony flirt but also completely a gentlemen. Indie is adorable in her interactions with Rhett. Rhett describes her best as beautiful on the inside and out. She is a gifted baker and business woman who owns her own bakery, she's sassy and a great friend. Indie's been with her boyfriend for 13 years and most of that feels like a comfortable friendship. Indie wants more and knows that she needs to end things with Tony. Rhett is extremely attracted to Indie but he has one rule never date an unavailable girl. But when Indie says she broke up with Tony all bets are off right? Rhett tries to give her some space as he doesn't want to be the rebound but he and Indie have intense chemistry and so much fun together. Again, I liked the story because it's original and the characters are so likable. The one drawback was trying to get the language to take on NY slang and it didn't quite work. The epilogue is their HEA. Next is Sophie's story.
