My enemy is the Apocalypse.
Anonymous. Faceless.
Shrouded in cloaks and deception.

They are the true puppeteers of East Point, pulling the strings of their minions and controlling the masses of sheep. They're cowards hiding behind false identities and blank addresses.

And guess who’s still their number one plaything? Yep, that’s me.

When I came to East Point, I had one mission in mind: find the people responsible for killing my best friend. And boy, did I get more than I bargained for. Everything I’ve looked into twists and turns to dead-ends.

No one is who they say they are.

When identities are revealed, we're more screwed than before. With every step we take forward, we're thrust a million steps back.

But this time, I’m not alone. I have my four guys by my side. Together, with shreds of new evidence and better technology, we will continue our investigation into Magnolia’s murder. And bring justice to her death.

Or die trying.

WILL ADD MORE TO MY REVIEW LATER

The first book had so many twists and turns, finally jumping back into this world!! I have an inkling who her web friend is now I need it confirmed!! So I was sort of right who would turn up at her door from the net to person, I just forgot one vital aspect, it's a pair.

So this kicks starts off right where the previous book left off, the moans being broadcast live, the boys hoping she doesn't point the finger at them.

This was like a game of cat and mouse the closer they got to uncovering the truth and hoping they were closing in on the apocalypse they always seemed to be one step behind. This was a dangerous game they were playing.

And if you didn't think three boys were enough for our heroine throw in Cruel Carter, though it did take him a bit to get on the RH crazy train he also fell under the heroines spell and stood beside them all as a force to be reckoned with. I think he's always been my favourite out of the boys, he has so many layers to him, and like a puppet on a string he comes clean why he's the task master of the Apocalypse.

Tangled Truths

“Money. Money. It makes the world go round and drops bodies into the ground. It brings blood to their hands and laughter to their bellies. Money. Money. It’s the root of every evil, specifically this evil. We’re going up against money-hungry monsters hell-bent on taking everyone out who can make them a cent.”

4/5 stars

Book Two was so much more. more secrets. more questions. more chaos. more information. more reveals.

Holy crap! What a second book! I mean seriously there was such an intricate web woven in book one, but Tangled Truths blows it right out of the water. I was on the edge of my seat during my whole read of this book. It's a chunky boy but never feels like it drags as there are so many twists and turns as we learn more about the Apocalypse Society.

We pick up from the cliff of book one with the guys all panicking at the pep rally and Kaycee finding the journal and mega revelations right out the gate.

I love Carter, he's def my fave of the guys! There's so much complexity and growth that's gone into his backstory. I honestly didn't expect it to be as dark as it was, but I'm so here for it - it makes him such an interesting read in both his POV chapters and others.

I mean I don't want to toot my own horn, but I guessed a few of the revelations in this book, but it was sooo validating to see how the little tiny seeds have grown into huge revelations. I loved every second of this book, but it's dark so read the triggers before you dive in. I cannot wait to see where the story ends up in the next book! That cliff about killed me!

I absolutely loved the first book but the second is just dragging on I can’t keep myself interested in it and some reviews of the 3rd book say the same so I don’t think I’ll be pushing myself to finish it at this point.
I think without all the filler this would’ve been fantastic, I just can’t make myself read it anymore

Book one ended in a cliffhanger, but man book 2 ended in one hell of a cliffhanger. I have never downloaded the next book in a series so fast as I have because of how good this one was.

I received a advanced copy of Tangled Truths. I’m blown away at Aly’s style of writing. It just flows right into the next book where Web of Lies left off. You get a few twist and turns throughout the book. Aly knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat and waiting and wanting more. That is for sure!!! I can’t wait to read what comes from Aly Beck next!!

More like 4.5 stars. Kaycee and her guys are back. I really like how her guys are with her and how they make sure she is comfortable. I really like her because she is pretty strong heroine and she knows what she wants. I liked how she handled some situations. I really can't wait to read next book because of that cliffy.

This book starts off exactly where book one ends, I didn't think that this book could blow everything that happened in book one away but oh my gosh was I wrong.
The world building and mystery in this book is just fantastic!

We start off from the cliff hanger of book one to end right back on a cliffhanger in this book! Like what the hell haha! I know that I was warned but gosh darn it! Aly Beck is fantastic at writing cliff hangers and making you want to instantly pick up the next book to see what happens.

Mr Grumpy oh my goodness. I love all the men in this book and I love how they are so different form one another, even the twins are individual. I love the fact that we get to see more of Carters background and get to understand more about him and why he is the way he is. I don't want to spoil but I am so glad that he is apart of all of this.

I really don't like the Apocalypse bad guys, which I guess is the point and I really hope that they get what is coming to them because they don't deserve to be alive after everything they have done.
I have had so many questions answered in this book but there are still so many questions that I need answers to!
I am also so glad that Kaycee hasn't changed her quirks and is just herself and doesn't really give to poops about what anyone thinks about her or her boys.

I can not wait to start the next book in the series! :)

*Please not this is book 2 of the series and not a standalone, this one also ends on a cliffhanger*

Terrible

You cannot seriously write a book about a “genius” and make her so incredibly stupid. You describe her as autistic but have four other characters who are not supposed to be stupid but do in fact act stupid. Sorry but 18 year old kids are smarter than the author is making these characters out to be. This book is honest to god, an extension of the first and is nothing but wasted filler. I am invested so I will borrowing the last book but only to read the epilogue so hopefully she doesn’t screw the pooch there too. Because the author can definitely not write sex scenes but sure likes to include them. And having an autistic heroine who uses the word pussy at the most random times is just plain creepy and inappropriate.

The only reason this book gets 2 stars is because I am engaged with the characters after book 1. There is NOTHING positive to say about book 2.

What did I just finish reading? Holy crap. I love book one Web Of Lies but Tangled Truths was amazing.
We find out a few things as the truth is starting to come out. But my god I'm so frustrated, with a couple of things.
1.Those Apocalypse assholes are uping their game.
2. Hadley, Oscar and Trent need to hurt so badly.
3. I need Kaycee to kick all their asses.

Kaycee, Seger, Zepp, Chase and Carter I love them. They are so good together. Some of those scenes was on fire.
I'm getting really angry at the Apocalypse and the bullies. They need to be dealt with fast. They are just so horrible. The Gang need abit of luck, and take those assoles down.

That ending though? I know, I know Aly said it would end on a cliffhanger but what the hell!!! I need more I need book 3 now please. I need to know what happens next.

Holy smokes. That cliffhanger was just brutal. If you thought Web Of Lies’s cliffhanger was torture then you are not ready for Tangled Truth’s cliffhanger.

But can I just say? I am OBSESSED with Kaycee and her guys’ relationship (especially my man Carter 😏🥵) These guys are 100% with their girl and I am here for it! Although Kaycee can be naive at times, Aly Beck did such an amazing job with adding that to the plot. And it fit perfectly.

There is so much mystery around who the Apocalypse are and what’s going to happen next (did I mention there’s a huge cliffhanger? 👀)

You guys seriously need this book in your life. Aly Beck has done an amazing job on writing this series and you can just tell how much work and time she’s put into this. I seriously cannot wait for Wicked Deceit!!

Seeking the Truth

Oh wow! This is such a great series! I am already looking forward to the amazing books to come from this author!!!
***
First and foremost - Tristan! We finally find out who Tristan is and I. AM. HERE. FOR. IT! I absolutely loved how the author took that entire situation. Yes please!!!

We are back! This book starts off right where book 1 ended. Carter o Carter...my man, such a yo-yo of emotions. The guys, Chase, Zeppelin and Seger and now Carter are more than ever ready to protect Kaycee at all costs from The Apocalypse. Kaycee is continuing her journey - now that she knows the truth about Magnolia, she needs to know why. Why is the Apocalypse doing this? What are they really after? Is it just about money? Kaycee needs answers.

Carter is now working as a double agent and without trying to give anything away, he must continue to bully the girl he has fallen for. But at what cost can he continue to do this?

"Together we are swimming in a vast ocean without a paddle or life vest, letting the grief consume us whole. Its dragging us down and drowning us."

With twists and turns, this series is getting darker and darker. I love it. The Van Buren brothers are all under interest from Kaycee and her guys. Their secrets are mounting up to an amazing amount of deceit and lies. Could one of them be Alpha?? And Piper....girl, that is some CRAZY stuff going on with that one. I am hoping Book 3 can give us more answers to how that is going to go down!

Gahhhh. I just feel like their was so much information delivered to us in this book and also not enough at the same time! The evidence is piling up and it appears NO ONE can be trusted. Step-moms. Dining Waitresses. Family. Friends...Everyone is intertwined in these tangled truths and web of lies. (See what I did there ;-))

Then the ending...The ENDING blew my mind and now I feel like I'm even more lost than before. This series is such a rollercoaster and I absolutely love it! Just like with book 1, everything you think you know...do you really know? I have a feeling this author is going to blow us out of the water with book 3. I cannot wait!

The relationships definitely got more serious in this book and the steam was delicious! (The new rendition of the Cha Cha slide was awesome and I couldn't stop laughing)

"...Sure, Jan, just the tutor. You can keep telling yourself that while I go upstairs and screw their brains out together. Twin sandwich city, here I come-literally-population: three."

*Overall 5/5
*Heat? 5/5
*MFMMM Romance
*Twists and turns
*Dark? 1/5 *Have a feeling, will get darker*
*Ends on major cliffhanger

Dnf

This was my second time giving this series a shot. I really wanted to like it, it had such great reviews but I just can't get through it.

1) it feels almost like fanfic for Hannaford Prep. Fancy prep school, guys being bullies, genius level fmc. Chase and his sister are reminiscent of Ash and Avery, not personality of course but twins, their last name is super similar both Avery and Ainsley are ballerinas. We've got the apocalypse and the horsemen here and The Game and the Jackal etc there. Even something like in Hannaford Blaise is a musician who's dad is really rich and threatens to disinherit him, here the twins dad is really rich a music producer and threatens to disinherit them. It's all just too similar it makes my brain itch.

2) Speaking of brain itching I'm autistic, so is the main fmc. Awesome right? We love representation... Except I kind of hated how her autism was represented. I don't know if the author is on the spectrum and I know it's a spectrum but the way she acted when people found out, the lines about the Dr saying they didn't know if she'd ever make connections or bonds with people. Her diagnosis is level 1, it just felt like the author tried to make it such a bigger more 'limiting' thing than it is. I would also like to note in addition to having ASD myself, my masters in is SPED education and I specialized in severe and profound. So yes while it's different for everyone (and yes I noticed the author liked to put qualifying statements like that throughout so people couldn't get upset) I do feel uniquely suitable to say I feel the author did us a disservice with some of these choices.

Finally and this is the most persnickety of the three and I'm sure most would disagree. This was a plot driven series. The author made a complex background for the bad guys and yet instead of being insanely focused on taking them down and idk stopping any future murders it seemed the characters were soooo focused on sex. And I get it, it's a rh but come on I want the plot to move forward not have the 6th sex scene in the first quarter of the book. I was just so tired of hearing how wet the fmc.

So yeah second time wasn't the charm and I'm not going to try a third, sorry.

The Apocalypse Society Series is a gripping tale of mystery and deception within the walls of East Point Prep. Kaycee, haunted by the mysterious death of her friend Magnolia, embarks on a relentless quest for justice that takes readers on a rollercoaster ride of suspense and revelation.
From the very first page, the atmosphere is thick with suspicion and intrigue. The protagonist, determined and driven by grief, navigates the treacherous social landscape of her new school with a singular purpose: to uncover the truth behind Magnolia's tragic demise. The book draws readers into a world where appearances deceive and secrets lurk behind every corner.
The narrative is cleverly woven with clues and coded messages left by Magnolia herself (EEEKKK), transforming the story into a thrilling puzzle that engages readers' minds as much as their emotions. Each character, initially painted as a suspect, evolves throughout the story, blurring the lines between friend and foe. The transformation of pawns into kings and suspects into allies adds layers of complexity to the protagonist's journey, keeping readers guessing until the final revelation.
Aly’s ability to build tension is AMAZING, as the protagonist delves deeper into a conspiracy that threatens to consume her. The dynamics between characters are intricately crafted, with each playing a pivotal role in the unraveling of the mystery. Themes of betrayal, loyalty, and redemption are skillfully explored, adding depth to the plot and resonating with readers on a personal level.
This not just a mystery novel; it is a testament to the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity. As the protagonist confronts her own demons and discovers unexpected truths, readers are taken on an emotional journey that culminates in a satisfying and thought-provoking conclusion.
This series is a MUST READ for fans of psychological thrillers, intricate mysteries and SO MUCH SPICE. With its compelling storyline, well-developed characters, and surprising twists, it is a book that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.

I have a lot of anticipated releases this year that have crowded my TBR. One of those releases was Tangled Truths, book 2 in the Apocalypse Society by Aly Beck (book 1 is web of lies, which is featured on my page as well). I was lucky enough to win an ARC yesterday and immediately threw myself back into the world of Kaycee and her guys.

This book picks up right where book one left us and we are immediately pulled back into the mysterious surrounding Kaycee and the school. You’ll definitely want to be wearing your detective hat again for this book. We get a lot of anticipated answers but Aly isn’t here to make things easy for us. If you loved all the twists and craziness from book 1 you’re in for a real treat. Get ready to hold onto your seats.

No spoilers here but this book steps up the game with the secret society we’ve come to hate. You are gonna get more on an in-depth look and it added to the plot perfectly. It also allows us a lot more character development, I already loved these characters but this book cemented that. The characters on an individual and group level are just perfection.

This series continues to be one of the most immersive series I’ve read to date. Aly knows how to pull you into her web, she truly knows how to weave and balance the mystery, plot, and characters of this tale. However, I’m not complaining about be captured by this book.

Be ready for answers, more questions, secret journals, spicy hot scenes, and more evil secret society action. This book was truly a masterpiece in my opinion. The way things came together and new things developed..true perfections. And they cliff hanger? I’m still dangling. I can’t wait for book 3h.

I've had this series saved in my tbr for so long. I was so excited when I saw that it was complete so I decided to finally start it. I will say that I'm enjoying the general idea of this story. I really like Kaycee's guys. The spicy scenes are really good. Those are the reason i kept 3⭐️, though I've read the phrase "eyes rolling back into my head" enough to last me the rest of the year.

The scene in this book when Seger starts singing a parody of the Cha Cha Slide during one of the group scenes was hilarious.

I'm just really struggling with how much extra fluff is in these first two books. They're so long and honestly I feel like a fair bit could be cut out. It's difficult to focus my attention. I have a hard time following some of the conversations because lines of dialogue are repeatedly broken up by multiple long paragraphs that run way off track so by the time I get the next line I've forgotten what they were talking about and I have to go back and refresh. I mean, that's part of how Kaycee's mind works and I get that but it's really confusing sometimes and not always necessary. There's a lot of repetitive sentences and phrases (see above) that just don't add much after the 10th time used.

One last thing that really bothered me happened at the end. I get that the twins' stepmother is a shitty human being for the things she's done but that's just it. She gives plenty of material to use in shaming her but Kaycee focused on the fact that Corey got paid as a sex worker for filming videos of herself doing tasks in her underwear. Like her videos really didn't show more than that and yet she was repeatedly called disgusting? Maybe let's not shame sex workers. Yikes.

I first want to thank Aly Beck for sending me an Arc of Tangled Truths in exchange for an honest review.

Holy crap what did I just read?! The ending of this book
took the air out of my lungs and I was on the edge of my seat the last 10% of the book.

This second book definitely had more of a character driven plot compared to the first book, but I actually really enjoyed that. While I think we could have gotten a lot more secrets being revealed, what we did was absolutely crazy! I truly enjoyed watching this harem come together and figure themselves out in this book. One of my favorite things that Aly Beck did for this series is allow for these teenagers to simply have their teenage moments. They may be mature and trying to figure out this secret society, but they have the carefree, funny, and stupid moments too. I think that added so much to the characters and the book. I’m so in love with all of the men there is no way to pick a favorite. The way Carter came into the harem in this book was a little annoying at first, but I truly think he adds so much to their relationships and it wouldn’t be the same without him. I also love the friendship that was formed between Kaycee and Ainsley is this book as well. Overall, I think this book was truly an amazing ride and CANNOT wait for the third book. My only true critique is the long chapters made it feel like the book was dragging a bit, but I think the plot and characters made up for that.

I really liked the previous book which made me really anticipated to read this second book. Kaycee our smart ass fmc is back again, i like her she is smart as fuck hacker and how kind and down to earth she is. I did get a lil annoyed when i felt she was waay to kind and forgiving of people and things when they should have got a slap or two.
We thankfully get to know some more, like who the fuck Tristan is, i had my guesses and i was sort of right.
Cruel Carter, i knew he would later be my fave but i also know i am gonna feel frustrated and some love hate to that guy. He is typical the guy who is ending up being my fave guy, being an asshole, going all alpha, tall, dark and handsome, and having a big dick ;). But the thing that is pissing me off was his cold and hot behavior, i hate that when someone does that. does not matter who just being like that is making me want to pull my hair out like a crazy. I do like Carter
I like the other guys as well, Seger and Zeppelin, the twins and Chase.
Omg Ainsley, Chase sister i don´t like her for what she did to my girl Kaycee. I don´t hate her like i do with some other bitches named Hadley, Trent, Oscar and that annoying girl Espie!!! Plus step-monster Corey, what a creep, no shame no game. Magnolias step father, like there is so many people i don´t like and is suspicious of.
HOLY god damn, that ending was not okay. What a cliffhanger?!!

**SPOILERS**

The code was cracked in book one, so the search for the killer and apocalypse continues. And the apocalypse is CRAZY. Between all of this, we also get a peak into their relationship. Carter finally gives into his emotions, but is also between a rock & a hard place because he still has to treat Kaycee badly so that he can stay on the inside.

I am super excited that I was half correct in my prediction about Tristan. I didn't expect it to be both Zepp and Seger. I can't believe the boys or Kaycee didn't realize, but they say hindsight is 20/20. The twins take her home to meet their father, little brother and gold digging step Mom. And their little cave scene... 🔥 🤤 One the way home someone cut the brakes in their car and causes them to crash. They give the boys a sedative, so they pass out completely, and pull Kaycee from the car. They drug her, with something that makes her high, and they also break her arm. This ends up being how Kaycee's Mom finds out she has 4 boyfriends, because they won't leave her side until she goes home from the hospital.

But when she gets together with her boys.... 🔥 Especially when they "punish" her because she doesn't know how to be a good girl.

⚠️ Read the trigger warnings. I do not have any, but there is a part where you find out a father/daughter are sleeping with eachother.

Erm....... where to start!

1. What a frigging amazing 2nd book in the series. I was hooked from the beginning after the need to figure out who Tristan was and I honestly didn’t think it was who it was 😱

2. The spice in the book when to next level hotness 🥵🥵 I might of needed to take a cold shower after reading certain group activities because my lady bits where on 🔥🔥

3. I love Carter but I also want to dead Carter because if you know you know. I understand why but it doesn’t make it any easier and I wanted to cry 😢 my heart was ripped out and then mended then ripped out again. Stupid boys 😂

4. What a lot of twists and turns this book took, I thought yes we are getting somewhere with who’s behind what and there is more information available to figure it out and then 💥 nope back to the beginning again with more cryptic ness!

And 5. Seriously that ending????!! I’m going to go and cry, maybe rock in the corner for a bit until I can find out what happens next. I knew it was coming and holy hell that cliffy is a beast but I’m still going to be in a book hangover for a while! My poor heart 🖤 it can’t take no more 😂🙈

PS I still love the twins the most!!

If you haven’t started this series yet go do it. It’s incredible and the characters are all amazing. It has emotion, laughter, spice, mystery, heavy situations and just all round fabulousness! I’m blown away and can’t wait to find out more in these Tangled Truths 🖤

What an amazing follow up for Web of Lies! This book picks right back up where the first one left off and we are thrown right back into the emotional mess that Web of Lies ended on.

Learning who Tristan is was SO satisfying. And while it should have been obvious, I didn't put it together until reading it on page. Very well done (as with every twist in this series so far). Carter is an absolute grump and I adore him for it 🥰😍 I thoroughly enjoyed the boys' friendship with him in this book.

Carter, Seger, and Kace 🥵🔥🥵

The Van Burens. Piper. Crowe. 😳😳😳

The twists in this book keep you racing through pages desperate for answers, but every answer uncovered leads to more questions and I am absolutely enthralled trying to unravel everything. I love the unit Kace and her guys become and how hard they're fighting for themselves and each other.

The portrayal of mental health in this book, I found, to be quite realistic. I love how it's addressed. Not brushed over, or pitied, but acknowledged and supported as best the characters know how.

That cliffhanger though, wowza. That was quite a doozy. Amazing, but heckin' painful.

Tangled Truths is another easy 5 star read and I cannot wait to continue this series as they release!

ok It has taken me three days to actually write this because my jaw has been on the floor and thus in the way of my hands.

This book man. In fact this series (I know, I know its only book 2 but still!) Picking up right where we left off we finally get the answer as to who Tristan is (bet you guessed wrong!!) What follows is a roller-coaster ride of mystery, secrets, danger and deception. and it just doesn't let up. Every time I think I know what's going on something else creeps out the woodwork and throws it all up in the air. We do finally get some answers but my my my do we get some questions.

I adore every one of these characters and love seeing their relationship grow and change. We see them on an individual level as well as a group which I really really like. Carter fans will not be disappointed and that goes off with a hell of a bang!

As the mum to a autistic girl very similar to Kaycee the adorably awkward scenes between her and her sister really added to the charm of this series. Add in the fact that they all have their teenage moments instead of somehow being too cool for school and able to face everything adds a touch realness into the escapism which really really works.

That cliffy though. Good luck!!
