For four thousand years, creatus have concealed themselves from the humans who hunted them almost to extinction. Now, one rogue faction wants the world to know they exist.
Meghan only wants to be normal, and for the first time in her life, she feels she might have a chance to be herself.
As she finds herself between creatus families with different ideals and their roles within the human race, she struggles to find her way. Only, her path leads her right into the arms of a wanted man.
Not only will she have to fight for the man she loves, she'll have to fight for her very life.
The Creatus Series is not your typical paranormal story...it's a realistic romantic mystery based on the myths you've heard your entire life. Prepare to believe...
Reader Profile: First and foremost, I am a reader. From the moment I could hold a book, I've been fascinated by the written word. I enjoy almost everything but lean toward romantic suspense and magical realism. If you're looking for bad reviews, you won't find them here. The reason... life's too short to read bad books. If a book isn't at least three stars halfway through, I stop reading, and therefore, don't feel as though I have the right to review it. That's my policy! Please don't send me requests, though. If you are one of my cyber friends, I will eventually find you. :)
Author Profile: A writer of modern-day fairy tales, I write stories that overflow with romance, mystery, suspense, a hint of paranormal sometimes, and of course, tragedy. After all, what would a fairy tale be without a tragic event setting the stage? All of my novels are sensual but not erotic, gripping but not graphic, and will hopefully, make you cry, laugh, love, and hope.

Aren't all myths rooted in basic truths? Carmen DeSousa takes this possibility and runs with it. The premise is original, fascinating, entertaining, and leaves me asking, "What if?"
I would swear these characters are real people. They are all unique, with their own little quirks and personality traits. Perhaps most importantly, like people, their behavior isn't always predictable. They change their minds, hide their true feelings, react badly to situations, and, sometimes, behave heroically in the face of danger.
The plot here has some surprising twists. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, the author takes us somewhere else. I loved that DeSousa was able to catch me completely off guard, while at the same time I could look back and see that the twists all made sense.
While each book could be read as a stand-alone, this series, I think, works best if read in order. The characters and the storyline carry over from one book to the next. Certain subtleties in relationships might not be understood as well if you haven't read the previous books.
If you like mystery, suspense, adventure, romance, all sprinkled with a supernatural element, this is absolutely the series for you.
OMG. I can't believe I finished it already! lol, I've so been dragging my feet and I was going to stop at 87% tonight but talked myself into going to 90 and the next thing I knew I was done :( I don't ever want it to end; or at least until I can read no more...but if I was a Creatus that would be my lifetime so far x 2...or more.
It's so hard to review this series without spoilers. I love the story (I started with #1), and each book has captivated me. The whole idea of the mythical stories told throughout history more than likely having been Creatus is fabulous; if not pure genius. This one had my fave character Reece in it and his daughter which I have come to like just as much. I'm still on the fence about Jonas but I think I'm coming around. Again, I would live there if I could.
So, now I have to wait for the next one. @CreatusSeries any ideas about how long that might be? Haha, no rush. Really, take your time, I'll be here. Maybe write a double this time...lol. No pressure. Thank you so much for writing this series!
DIVINELY ENTERTAINING !!! Title: Creatus Eidolon Series: Creatus Author: Carmen DeSousa Designation: Book Three of Series, NOT a Standalone Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited My Rating: FIVE DIVINELY ENTERTAINING STARS***** Loved, loved, loved it! The Creatus Series is my first time reading the work of Carmen DeSousa but it certainly won't be my last. I began my adventure with DeSousa after downloading Creatus, the first book of the series, when it was offered as a free download on Amazon. I enjoy discovering new authors and what better way to discover new talent without breaking the bank than with a free read, right? I started reading on a Saturday morning and within five minutes, I knew I'd struck gold! I raced back to Amazon and discovered Books Two and Three, Creatus: Rogue and Creatus: Eidolon, had already been released. And the icing on the cake, they were both available under the Kindle Unlimited program. SWEET! By Sunday evening, I had devoured all three books of the series as well as the prequel novella, They Exist, which was included as a bonus in the first book. Now, please allow me to state that this is actually more like a serial since the books should be read in sequence. Although the author does include a fair amount of backstory in each book, I recommend reading the books in order. These stories are not meant to be read as standalone reads. Although each book primarily features a specific couple, there is an interconnected story arc running through the entire series with a recurring cast of characters. I found all of the books to be exciting, thrilling, imaginative, original, suspenseful, romantic, seductive, exceptionally well crafted and edited. The narratives are all beautifully written in the third person with multiple points of view. My favorite! The dialogue is smart, well executed and flows effortlessly. But my favorite component of this remarkable saga is the magnificent cast of characters. They are unique, intriguing, well developed, engaging, relatable and sexy as sin. I not only fell head over heels for the protagonists of each book but I also loved the masterfully depicted antagonists. Nothing is as it seems! Be very careful which antihero you choose to hate; he may very well turn out to be a hero in disguise! And vice versa, of course! Oh my! DeSousa demonstrates her talent as a gifted storyteller by skillfully combining every single one of these elements to craft a masterful supernatural saga filled to the brim with fantasy, danger, drama, action, betrayal, heartache, undeniable love, and enough spine-tingling suspense, shocking plot twists and perplexing mystery to blow your mind! And just when you think you have it all figured out -WHAM - DeSousa hits you with another surprising and totally unexpected piece of the puzzle. Folks, this definitely ISN'T your ordinary romance. This is an extraordinary, suspense filled whodunnit with a delicious side of tantalizing romance - without the calories! OMG! Who knew you could have a sexy romance without the sex? Obviously, Carmen DeSousa did since she just pulled it off magnificently! Once I started reading, I could not stop! I was immediately drawn into the story, glued to my seat, completely lost in time with the hours passing seemingly as minutes while my heart pounded in my chest. It was bloody brilliant! So sit back, my lovelies, get comfy and prepare to meet the Creatus, an alien species who have been living in plain sight among the humans of Earth for the past four thousand years. And you know all those supernatural beings based on myth, well, they just might be real and they may be creatus. Oh my!
This is not a book report nor do I give spoilers in my comments. What I attempt to do is give my humble opinion on the merits of the book itself. When rating and reviewing a book, I always ask myself several questions. First, what did I love about this story? As I stated earlier, all the books were beautifully written, well crafted and well edited with gorgeous covers. The world created by DeSousa for this series was imaginative as well as intelligent. It may have been fantasy but it was totally believable in the realms of science fiction and the supernatural. Oh, did I forget to mention the science fiction part? Well shucks, it's like Donnie and Marie Osmond with their little bit country and little bit rock 'n roll. This series is a little bit paranormal, little bit supernatural, little bit fantasy and a little bit science fiction. It's a divinely delicious all you eat buffet! And the characters were unlike anything I've ever experienced in a previous book. They were unique but fascinating and completely relatable. I cried for them, empathized with them and even laughed at some of their antics. The narratives of each book were fast paced but comfortable. At no point in any of the books was I ever bored or distracted. The pages as well as the time literally flew. I was so engrossed in the story, I even refused to answer my phone. My second question is always, what didn't I like about this story? Truthfully, not a darn thing! Well, other than the fact I didn't want it to end but isn't that true with all great stories? I think so. Third, would I recommend this book? You bet and I am for a wide range of readers including young and mature adult readers. There are a few curse words which I could probably count on one hand for all three books. There is some violence but it's NOT graphically portrayed and has NO gory details. The book is romantic but not erotic. There are NO explicit sex scenes but there are dreamy love scenes. And this is one thing that really surprises me since I generally go for books with more erotic romance and often find myself bored out of my mind without at least a few steamy sex scenes but not so with this series. It never actually occurred to me until I began writing this review. Fourth, will I read this author again? Abso-freakin-lutely! At the end of Book Three, the author offered a sneak peek at the fourth book of the series, Creatus: Animus and believe me when I say, I rushed to her web page to sign up for her newsletter so I'll know when the next book is released. As far as I'm concerned, tomorrow wouldn't be soon enough so bring it on Carmen DeSousa! lol..... And finally, was I entertained? Oh lawd, yes! I was completely captivated and totally entertained! I'm a DeSousa fan for life! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
Took me a little longer than normal to finish, but not because the book wasn’t good, a few parts were a bit of a struggle, but did not take away from my interest. So in this book we get to know Meghan, who is also part creatus, she is rebellious and is upset at her father because he hasn’t been around much. She falls for her captor (bit weird, but I guess it goes along with the storyline of how sideways things go) and now she is in the midst of a family “feud” so to speak. She wants to be able to be herself and not hide, but she does not agree with the way some of the rouge creatus are going about it. More twists and turns in this book, now I’ve got to find out what happens next!
While I understand these creatures look younger than their age, and I am by no means a prude, the fact that this book puts a 44 year old man and an 18 year old girl together gives me the creeps!!! Seriously! And what a drama queen! There is not one redeeming feature about Meghan, she’s completely unlikeable. This is the worst of the series so far, one more to go. The writing is so so. Information is repeated so often in the same book it drives me crazy. I will finish the series, but I won’t read anything else by this author.
I love these books they are even better than the movies about superheroes. Carmen knows how to write about a character so you feel as tho you know them and truly care for them.get these books you wont be disappointed
This is a continuation of of the Creatus series. She has fallen and now she has lost him. She knows who killed him and she will avenge his death. But maybe just maybe things aren't as bleak as they seem.
Still loving the series. Jonas isn't as bad as we believe in the beginning, which I predicated at the end of the last book. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Jonas in a new light.
I don't really know what I expected when I picked up DeSousa's Creatus series, perhaps that the word creatus seemed a little gimmicky. But after devouring the first and second book, I eagerly sped through this one. I found her world unique and believable, the characters weren't over stereotyped macho men or weak but strong willed women. My one caveat is that I am always left wanting more, especially as these books read better in a series than as stand alone and often don't fully resolve some of the driving plot points throughout each book. To be fair though, if she did wrap everything up in a nice bow, I may not have been so eager to read the next page-turner in her series.
No one else for me EVER: Creatus Eidolon by Carmen Desousa
When Creatus fall there is no other human or Creatus for that Creatus, that's so cool. In book number three we're back in Boston, this time Meghan,Reece's daughter is with us. Creatus and Reece are still looking for their rouge, will they find him or her? Reece has his own problem, he thinks Jonas kidnapped his daughter, and he's still trying to be with Vic. Michael is still a thorn in his side. There are plenty twist in this book, I had my thoughts throughout the series of course, some were right, others, well that's the twist. Carmen never disappoints, I love this series. I can't wait for the next book.
Even though, I expected this book to be about Reece and Vic; it really ended up being about Meghan and Jonas. Meghan finds love in a suspected "terrorist"/rogue. Reece will be furious, but they "fall". Quickly life and death changes everyone's future and the rogue prospects. It's a thrilling and mind blowing book. Bring on "Animus"
this book was mostly about Victoria and Reese as well as Reese's daughter Meghan and Jonah. It went into a little bit more about the Rogues and the different people that were helping them. We still don't really find out who is all behind it until the very end of this book. Still leaves a lot of loose ends, so hopefully this last book will tidy everything up with a good ending.
Continues where the last one left off. More characters are introduced and we get more info about the rogues and their goals. We see more of Vic and Reece along with his daughter and Jonas. (Although the pairing of those two was a bit predictable.)
i just finish the whole series out now and i loved the story a lot. And im just wondering when the next one will come out because im such a huge fan, i literally have all your books. I totally recommend the book.
Couldn't put this book down, had to see how it ended. I was surprised to find out that it was not the end and there is another book in the series. Carmen really pulls you into the story and keeps you turning pages, wanting more. On to the next book...
These characters have a lot of heart and I feel like I am in the moment with these books. Although I preferred the focus of the first two books in the series, I am looking forward to the next installment.
