I FINALLY DID IT!

I'm just going to say a few things: (spoiler warning?)

1. The characters in this book are amazing. I loved everyone. All of them were special to me. All of them mattered to me.

2. Nova has an annoying personality. She is so self centered, I think she doesn't begin to realize how much. She can be so full of herself it's annoying, and so fake-humble its disgusting. She's the only reason this book doesn't have 5 stars. I HATED her.

3. Zayne and Edan were my favorite! I just think Zayne deserved more... Nova pushed him away so horribly that it made me hate her so much more. He was such an angel and a loving friend... He deserved so much better. And Edan was probably a character that you get to love pretty fast, and Nova felt the same way I guess. That I understand. Edan and Zayne are the best of the best. Awesome personalities, very personable.

4. The first 3 books were probably the best for me. They got me hooked and invested in this story. The rest of them were okay... And one I hated. But they were good overall.

5. The romance between Nova and Valen was... Disappointing. I felt like it didn't surprise me as much anymore because I already knew they were going to end up together. And I guess that could have been fine, because it's a romance sci-fi novel and I get it! But there was no shock value in the romance for me. I got bored of them being together starting from the 4th book. I think it was given that they were destined to be with each other WAY TOO SOON. And way too fast. I mean, they saw each other in the future, and suddenly they love each other? No development? No getting to know each other before fantasizing? No tension? Nothing? Okay. Fine. Boring. At least to me it was boring. There was no time were they didn't agree with one another. The relationship was just too perfect, I just didn't buy it. It didn't seem relatable or believable. That's just my opinion. THEY CAN'T BE THAT PERFECT.

Conclusion: Everything was AMAZING except for the main characters. Nova was annoying AF and her relationship with Valen was not relatable and/or believable. I didn't but it. Not my cup of tea.

How to put this?
I enjoyed this, but there was a lot about it that was lacking. That’s about as nice as I can put it.
I don’t like being harsh buuuuuut this just wasn’t as well written as I’d hoped. The writing of the character and plot development left much to be desired. It was a series where a lot of nothing happened but somehow 700+ pages passed by.
It was all a bit dull I suppose. Important moments, whether to further the action or emotional connection, that normally would be included, just weren’t there.
I will say I enjoyed the Reylo vibes coming off this. Something I did enjoy was the mindless ease of reading this. The two main characters, Nova and Valen, have a sort of fated/meant to be together trope that the story follows. That I loved A LOT. This is a slow burn but throughout it all you can see how they are meant to be. The epilogue and last line of the series were quite a nice way to end the series.
In conclusion, this book had some areas that were just missing that depth necessary to become fully immersed, despite that I don’t regret reading it and I found it easy read where I got to enjoy one of my favorite tropes in a cool fantasy setting.

THIS BOOK!!!
It's perfection! It was everything my Reylo heart needed after the Rise of Skywalker. It must be said it does have many similarities to Star Wars and the relationship/connection that Rey and Kylo Ren had. Still, it's soooo much more! It even has some Rapunzel kind of story in it. I loved it. Some parts were a bit rushed but I didn't mind it at all. This book is truly amazing from the first page to the last one. I'm sooo thankful for that epilogue. We knew of course how their lives would be, but it was nice to read it for real.
I highly recommend this book. It's perfect for Reylo and Rapunzel fans. And even if you don't like these personages, if you like sci-fi and a mature relationship with good communication and no drama (thank god no love triangle!), this book is what you need!

I picked up this book because of an edit I saw using Rey and Kylo with quotes from the book and I was ecstatic. I should've known better. While the book was an easy read, it was also incredibly boring.

The romance was lackluster and far too “OMG you are my life now” much too fast. We never see the build up or get the feeling they care for one another before the reveal of Valen. Nova falls for him way too fast and the angst drags out for about four or five books. It drags on and on, with Nova waxing poetry about our white love interest and his Neron-blue eyes and it all feels very, very juvenile. We’re supposed to believe they love each other so deeply and fully but we never see it. It’s just Nova being horny for him because he’s hot and then being angsty because he’s evil for three books straight and then telling us she can’t live without him and being apart from him is killing her. Babes, you’ve survived without him for twenty-odd years. You’ll be fine. Nevermind we barely even see their friendship that made her fall in love with him in the first place. We’re just told very briefly that a random voice showed up in her head and a brief rundown of “yeah, we’re BFFs now” instead of showing it through dialogue BEFORE the reveal.

She also has weird jumps in logic, not fulling explaining things or drawing strange conclusions that don't make sense. Stuff just doesn’t make any sense nor do we get explanation of any slang (cack-she, slam, slag, etc, which suddenly starts up in the second book). We’re told she’s brilliant when it comes to weapons and stuff but it doesn’t feel like she’s worked hard to gain that skill. It’s just handed to her. She’s also a moron. In the last two books

Taylor also has this habit of beginning every sentence with “I” and putting choppy sentence together instead of combining them. The repetition made me wanna yank my hair out and I genuinely didn't understand the need to make almost every sentence into a new paragraph unless for emphasis. She also uses a lot of fragment sentences that don’t make sense or bring emphasis for plot.

The plot drags for seven books and at the end, I genuinely didn't care about Speaking of visions, what was the deal with Nora and Valen living ENTIRE LIVES in their dreams and her freak outs after? She makes Bella Swan look independent, what with her meltdowns and bawling after the dreams end. She knows it isn’t real but still gasps and loses her mind over them NOT being real.

Still it was an enjoyable read—if not dry, a bit nonsensical, juvenilely written and predictable as all get—and I intend to read more from this author.

Entertaining, good premise and ideas, but shallow execution.

Firstly, I am a bit biased, because I can count the first-person books/series I really loved on my one hand. I don't like first person, it is too limiting. But I am always prepared to give it a go, and I did with this series.

Star Wars rip-offs or fan-fiction notwithstanding, I enjoyed the premise and there were several really good moments and sequences, which is why I gave it 3 stars in the first place.

However, there is just so much that I didn't enjoy, which is why I didn't give it more stars. There are several plot holes, the character development is almost non-existent, everything is resolved with ease and I never felt that anyone important was in real danger,

Anyway, it was entertaining enough that I finished it, but won't reread (which I do a lot with favourite books) and won't really recommend either.

Actual rating 4.5! I completely fell in love with this gigantic saga. The characters, setting, powers, and romance were more than I could have ever imagined. While some of the action scenes moved a little quickly, I nonetheless found myself immensely enjoying this epic.

Nova is a great character with tons of surprises and twists. Valen is a fantastic, tragic character with an excellent arc which leads to a great romance. The chemistry between these fated mates is very strong, as were the connections Nova made with the side characters.

While I do think that for the most part, Nova and Valen didn't face as many challenges against the villain as I expected, watching them use their Neron and listening to its abundant nature made for amazing reading. The author has a great style and I will definitely be looking into her work in the future.

Great for anyone who loves fated mates, brooding characters, powerful magic, and adventure!

To be honest, this book was an epic fail. I expected a kinetic, adventurous saga with epic space battles, but this?? The omnibus lacks depth and consistency. So many great ideas were introduced in this story but never explored enough.

I also understand that the author is probably a great fan of the Star Wars saga, particularly REYLO, so the resemblance was uncanny. I just imagined the whole thing as a diverse instalment in the Star Wars world, and nothing could make me unsee this. Maybe fans of REYLO will enjoy this story, with such vibes everywhere in the plot, but I found it disappointing.

So, my three stars are only for the promising beginning of the story and some potential ideas.
